A Methodological Study on Using Weather Research and Forecasting(WRF) Model Outputs to Drive a One-Dimensional Cloud Model

Objective Pulmonary hypertension is a kind of disease associated with a very high rate of mortality and there are not many effective drugs for the ***,ET-1 receptor antagonists were proved to be effective in the treatment of pulmonary *** at developing new endothelin A receptor(ETA) antagonist for treatment of pulmonary hypertension,di-n-butylaminocarbamyl-L-Leucyl-D-Tryptophanyl-D-4-chloro-Phe,named GF063,was synthesized at base of selective ETA receptor antagonist BQ485 and selected for the further pharmacological *** The preliminary pharmacodynamics of GF063 was evaluated by radio-ligand receptor binding assay and test of anti-vasoconstriction effects in vitro and in *** integrative pharmacodynamics was evaluated in hypoxic-induced rat pulmonary *** GF063 bound to ETA receptor with 100000-fold higher affinity than to ETB ***063 concentration dependently inhibited contraction of isolated rat aortic ring induced by ET-1 and shifted the cumulative concentration -contraction response curve to right with no change in the maximal *** vivo,GF063 inhibited the increase of mean systemic arterial pressure induced by ET-1 in anesthetized *** hypoxia-induced rat pulmonary hypertension models,pre-treatment with GF063(40 mg/kg,s.c.) significantly decreased pulmonary artery pressure and right ventricular hypertrophy. A new method for driving a One-Dimensional Stratiform Cold （1DSC） cloud model with Weather Research and Fore casting （WRF） model outputs was developed by conducting numerical experiments for a typical large-scale stratiform rainfall event that took place on 4-5 July 2004 in Changchun, China. Sensitivity test results suggested that, with hydrometeor pro files extracted from the WRF outputs as the initial input, and with continuous updating of soundings and vertical velocities （including downdraft） derived from the WRF model, the new WRF-driven 1DSC modeling system （WRF-1DSC） was able to successfully reproduce both the generation and dissipation processes of the precipitation event. The simulated rainfall intensity showed a time-lag behind that observed, which could have been caused by simulation errors of soundings, vertical velocities and hydrometeor profiles in the WRF output. Taking into consideration the simulated and observed movement path of the precipitation system, a nearby grid point was found to possess more accurate environmental fields in terms of their similarity to those observed in Changchun Station. Using profiles from this nearby grid point, WRF-1DSC was able to repro duce a realistic precipitation pattern. This study demonstrates that 1D cloud-seeding models do indeed have the potential to predict realistic precipitation patterns when properly driven by accurate atmospheric profiles derived from a regional short range forecasting system, This opens a novel and important approach to developing an ensemble-based rain enhancement prediction and operation system under a probabilistic framework concept.

The development of dual functional material for cyclic CO2capture and hydrogenation is of great significance for converting diluted CO2into valuable fuels,but suffers from kinetic limitation and deactivation of adsorbent and ***,we engineered a series of RuNa/γ-Al2O3materials,varying the size of ruthenium from single atoms to clusters/*** coordination environment and structure sensitivity of ruthenium were quantitatively investigated at atomic *** findings reveal that the reduced Ru nanoparticles,approximately 7.1 nm in diameter with a Ru-Ru coordination number of 5.9,exhibit high methane formation activity and selectivity at 340°*** Ru-Na interfacial sites facilitate CO2migration through a deoxygenation pathway,involving carbonate dissociation,carbonyl formation,and ***-situ experiments and theoretical calculations show that stable carbonyl intermediates on metallic Ru nanoparticles facilitate heterolytic C–O scission and C–H bonding,significantly lowering the energy barrier for activating stored CO2.

Coral reef-like PANI nanotubes composed of nanopaticles were successfully synthesized by a reactive template of manganese *** structure was characterized by using SEM,TEM,and FT-IR,and the supercapacitive behaviors of these nanotubes were investigated with cyclic voltammetry（CV）,and charge-discharge tests,respectively.A maximum specific capacitance of 533 F/g could be achieved in 1mol/L aqueous H_2SO_4 with the potential range of -0.2 to 0.8 V（*** saturated calomel electrode） in a half-cell setup configuration for PANI electrode,suggesting its potential application in the electrode material for electrochemical capacitors.

The solvation of protonated methanol by carbon dioxide has been studied via a cluster model. Quantum chemical calculations of the H+(CH3OH)(CO2)n (n=1–7) clusters indicate that the first solvation shell of the OH groups is completed at n=3 or 4. Besides hydrogen-bond interaction, the CCO2 ? OCO2intermolecular interaction is also responsible for the stabilization of the larger clusters. The transfer of the proton from methanol onto CO2 with the formation of the OCOH+ moiety might be unfavorable in the early stage of solvation process. Simulated IR spectra reveal that vibrational frequencies of free O–H stretching, hydrogen-bonded O–H stretching, and O–C–O stretching of CO2 unit afford the sensitive probe for exploring the solvation of protonated methanol by carbon dioxide. IR spectra for the H+(CH3OH)(CO2)n (n=1–7) clusters could be readily measured by the infrared photodissociation technique and thus provide useful information for the understanding of solvation processes.

Pt-based catalysts are often used in a proton exchange membrane fuel cell due to their high activities to oxygen reduction and hydrogen oxidation reaction. However, these catalysts are easily poisoned by CO, resulting in a significant reduction of fuel cell performance. The use of CO-tolerant catalysts can effectively solve this *** CO poisoning mechanism and anti-poisoning strategies were briefly discussed in this article. It mainly focused on the research progress on CO-tolerant catalysts in three aspects: Pt alloy catalysts, metal oxide composite catalysts, and blocking layer covered catalysts. The advantages and limitations of various catalysts in recent years were also discussed. Creating a porous blocking layer covered on the surface of the catalyst can effectively enhance the CO-tolerance of the catalysts which could be a promising approach for developing anti-poison catalysts other than CO-tolerance. Finally, the prospects for future development of CO-tolerant fuel cell catalysts were described.
