β-Si3N4 powders prepared by self-propagating high-temperature synthesis （SHS） with additions of Y2O3 and Al2O3 were sintered by spark plasma sintering （SPS）. The densification, microstructure, and mechanical properties of Si3N4 ceramics prepared using this method were compared with those obtained by hot pressing process. Well densified Si3N4 ceramics with finer and homogeneous microstructure and better mechanical properties were obtained in the case of the SPS technique at 200°C lower than that of hot pressing. The microhardness is 15.72 GPa, the bending strength is 716.46 MPa, and the fracture toughness is 7.03 MPa·m1/2.

Microbial functional and structural patterns and drivers along elevational gradients have recently received increasing *** this study,we examined soil bacterial and fungal community diversity,compositions,and microbial activities(i.e.,soil basal respiration and extracellular enzyme activities)across an elevational gradient from 1148 m to 2080 m(consists of six elevations)in the Yuanmou dry-hot valley located in Southwest *** factors,including soil temperature,moisture content,pH,soil organic carbon(SOC),total nitrogen(TN),the C/N ratio,total phosphorus(TP),and aboveground plant biomass were also *** results showed that soil bacterial alpha diversity(Shannon index)was unaffected by elevation,whereas fungal alpha diversity firstly increased significantly from 1148 m to 1539 m but did not increase further at higher *** Shannon index was significantly correlated with SOC,whereas fungal Shannon index was remarkably associated with soil *** activity,beta diversities and community composition varied with elevation,but none of them showed a consistent *** Carlo test revealed that soil moisture followed by temperature,and pH,were the primary drivers of bacterial community *** fungal community composition significantly depended on soil ***,our study suggested bacterial diversity and composition were determined by climatic(moisture and temperature)and edaphic properties(SOC and pH),while fungal diversity and composition were structured mainly by climatic *** findings may contribute to a better understanding of microbial responses along elevational gradients in this semi-arid region.

Medicinal plants provide crucial ecosystem services,especially in developing countries such as China,which harbors diverse endemic medicinal plant species with substantial cultural and economic ***,understanding the patterns and drivers of medicinal plant distribution is ***,few studies have investigated the patterns and drivers of endemic medicinal plants distribution in ***,we linked endemic medicinal plants distribution with possible explanatory variables,i.e.,paleoclimate change,contemporary climate,altitudinal range and ethnic minority human population size at the prefecture city level in *** results show that endemic medicinal plants are concentrated in southern China,especially in southwestern ***,both endemic medicinal plant species richness and the ratio of endemic medicinal plant species richness are negatively associated with glacialinterglacial anomaly in temperature,and positively associated with contemporary precipitation and altitudinal *** addition,we found that endemic medicinal plant species richness is positively associated with ethnic minority population sizes as well as its ratio to the overall population *** findings suggest that the distribution of endemic medicinal plants is determined by multiple ***,our findings stress that dramatic future climate changes and massive anthropogenic activities in southern China pose great challenges to the conservation of China's endemic medicinal plants.

The round-beam operation presents many benefits for scientific experiments regarding synchrotron radiation and the weak-ening influences of intra-beam scattering in diffraction-limited synchrotron light sources.A round-beam generation method based on the global setting of skew quadrupoles and the application of a non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm was pro-posed in this *** schemes,including large-emittance coupling introduced via betatron coupling and vertical disper-sion,were explored in a candidate lattice for an upgrade-proposal of the Shanghai synchrotron radiation *** variations with lattice imperfections and their influence on the beam dynamics of beam optic distortions were *** results demonstrated that a precise coupling control ranging from 10 to 100%was achieved under low optical distortion,whereas full-coupling generation and its robustness were achieved by our proposed method by adjusting the skew quadrupole components located in the dispersion-free *** Touschek lifetime increased by a factor of 2–2.5.

The influence of different rolling processes on precipitation behaviour, crystallography texture, grain morphology,and their consequent effects on tensile properties for Al–Cu–Li alloy AA2195 was investigated in the present *** H-T8 samples(hot rolled + T8) presented better tensile strength and ductility(with serious strength anisotropy) than the HC-T8 samples(hot rolled + cold rolled + T8), due to their different microstructures and textures. The higher dislocation density was found in the H-T8 samples, which promoted the nucleation of main strengthening phase T1in the matrix and suppressed the grain boundary precipitation, resulted in better strength and ductility. The increase of the dynamic recovery(DRV) during hot rolling enhanced the generation of Brass texture, and brought serious strength anisotropy. The cold rolling was performed after the hot-rolling process for the HC-T8 samples which increased deformation energy and resulted in full recrystallization of the deformed microstructure during the following solution treatment. The formation of recrystallized microstructure reduced the dislocation density and the heterogeneous precipitate nucleation positions which limited the strengthening phase precipitation in matrix and accelerated the precipitation along grain boundaries, resulted in fewer T1precipitates, coarse grain-boundary precipitates(GBPs), and wider precipitate-free zones(PFZs). The localized strain may be concentrated on the grain boundary to induce the dislocation pile-up, breaking of the GBPs, and intergranular fracture during stretching.

BACKGROUND Fanconi–Bickel syndrome(FBS)is a rare autosomal recessive disorder caused by mutation of the SLC2A2 gene,which encodes glucose transporter protein 2(GLUT2).CASE SUMMARY We report a 7-mo-old girl with cytomegalovirus infection presenting hepatomegaly,jaundice,liver transaminase elevation,fasting hypoglycemia,hyperglycosuria,proteinuria,hypophosphatemia,rickets,and growth *** prescription of ganciclovir,the levels of bilirubin and alanine aminotransferase decreased to normal,while she still had aggravating hepatomegaly and severe ***,whole exome sequencing was conducted and revealed a homozygous c.416delC mutation in exon 4 of SLC2A2 inherited from her parents,which was predicted to change alanine 139 to valine(p.A139Vfs*3),indicating a diagnosis of *** the follow-up,the entire laboratory test returned to normal with extra supplement of vitamin D and corn *** weight increased to normal range at 3 years old without ***,she still had short *** there was heterogeneity between phenotype and genotype,Chinese children had typical clinical *** hot spot mutation or association between severity and mutations was found,but nonsense and missense mutations were more *** of long-term follow-up were rare,leading to insufficient assessment of the prognosis in Chinese *** FBS is a rare genetic metabolic disease causing impaired glucose liver homeostasis and proximal renal tubular *** of urine and blood testing suggesting abnormal glucose metabolism could be the clues for FBS in neonates and *** sequencing is indispensable for *** the diversity of disease severity,early identification and long-term follow-up could help improve patients’quality of life and decrease mortality.

BACKGROUND We all know that lymph-node metastasis is an important factor for poor clinical outcome in breast cancer *** deposit refers to a discrete collection of cancer cells that is found in the lymph nodes or other tissues adjacent to the primary tumor *** tumor deposits are separate from the primary tumor and are often considered as a manifestation of lymph node *** gastric and colorectal cancer,tumor deposits in the lymph node drainage area have been included as independent prognostic *** question arises whether tumor deposits should also be considered as prognostic factors in breast cancer *** article aims to provoke some thoughts on this matter through a case study and literature *** SUMMARY A 70-year-old female patient was found to have a right breast lump for over 2 *** January 3,2023,a core needle biopsy of the right breast lump was performed,and the pathology report indicated invasive ***,on January 17,2023,the patient underwent right breast-conserving surgery,sentinel lymph node biopsy,and right axillary lymph node *** postoperative pathological staging was determined as stage *** patient received chemotherapy,radiotherapy,and endocrine *** present,nearly one year after the surgery,no obvious signs of metastasis have been observed in the follow-up examinations,but the long-term prognosis is still *** There is a need for increased focus on the matter of tumor deposits in the lymph node drainage region,as well as a requirement for further clinical investigation to ascertain the relevance of tumor deposits in the prognosis of individuals with breast carcinoma.
