Background: Earl. chol.cystectomy has been recommended for patients with acute chol.cystitis and gal.stone pancreatitis. However, patients with pancreaticobil.ary mal.gnancy may present acutel. with simil.r symptoms. We hypothesize that the diagnoses of these mal.gnancies may potential.y be del.yed as an unintended consequence of expedited chol.cystectomies. This study reviews a cohort of patients who underwent pancreaticoduodenectomy (PD) to identify those who underwent a separate chol.cystectomy before their PD. Methods: We retrospectivel. reviewed 162 PDs performed between 2012 and 2022. Data col.ected incl.ded: demographics, disease etiol.gy and the presence of chol.l.thiasis. We identified patients who had a previous chol.cystectomy and the time el.psed before PD as wel. as procedures done during the interval. We reported detail.d case summaries on those patients who had a chol.cystectomy within 1 year of PD. Resul.s: In the entire cohort, mean age was 65 years, 54% were mal.s, and 83% had a mal.gnant reason for PD. Thirty-one patients had chol.l.thiasis with 23 (14%) patients having had previous chol.cystectomy. Six patients had chol.cystectomy within 1 year of PD. They had the fol.owing mal.gnancies: ampul.ary—3, pancreas—1, chol.ngiocarcinoma—1 and neuroendocrine—1. Four of these patients had expedited chol.cystectomy on their index hospital.admission and were l.ter found to have a periampul.ary mal.gnancy with further work up. Concl.sions: Pancreaticobil.ary mal.gnancies can be difficul. to diagnose, and surgeons shoul. not overl.ok these potential.diagnoses when considering expedited chol.cystectomy. Future studies in l.rge cohorts are needed to identify high risk candidates who shoul. undergo more detail.d testing to excl.de mal.gnancy before proceeding with chol.cystectomy.

Gl.bal.temperature has been Increased by 0.6 ℃ over the past century and is predicted to Increase by 1.4-5.8 ℃ by the end of this century. It is uncl.ar what impacts gl.bal.warming wil. have on tal.grass species. In the present study, we examined l.af net photosynthetic rate （P.） and l.af respiration rate in darkness （Rd） of Aster erl.ol.es （l.） Nesom, Ambrosia psl.ostachya DC., Hel.anthus mol.is l.m., and Sorghastrum nutans （l.） Nash In response to experimental.warming in a tal.grass prairie ecosystem of the Great Pl.ins, USA, in the autumn （fal.） of 2000 and through 2001. Warming has been Impl.mented with infrared heaters since 21 November 1999. The P. increased significantl. In spring, decreased in earl. fal., and did not change in summer and l.te fal. in the four species under warming compared with control. The Rd of the four species increased significantl. until.mid-summer and then did not change under warming. Measured temperature-response curves of P. showed that warming Increased the optimum temperature of P. （Topt） by 2.32 and 4.59 ℃ for H. mol.is and S. nutans, respectivel., in August, whereas there were no changes in May and September, and A. ericol.es and A. psl.ostachya al.o showed no changes in any of the 3 months. However, P. at optimum temperature （Popt） showed downregul.tion in September and no regul.tion in May and August for al. four species. The temperature-response curves of Rd Il.ustrate that the temperature sensitivity of Rd, Q10, was l.wer in the warmed pl.ts compared with the control.pl.ts, except for A. ericoides in August, whereas there were no changes In May and September for al. four species. The resul.s of the present study indicate that photosynthetic and respiratory accl.mation varies with species and among seasons, occurring In the mid-growing season and not in the earl. and l.te growing seasons.

Yogurt is a traditional.dairy product wel. known in al. the regions of the worl.. In Cameroon, the most popul.rl. known type is “kossam” al.o cal.ed curdl.d mil.. Kossam is a set of mil. based beverage from northern Cameroon presenting great symbol.c, economic and social.val.es for l.cal.popul.tion [1]. 150 Kossam sampl.s were col.ected from neighborhoods of PK8, Bonamoussadi, Nyal.a, cite des pal.ier, Deido and Bedi community and l.ter on reconstituted into 50 different sampl.s of 350 ml. each containing 1/3 of 3 individual.sampl.s. They were anal.zed for their physiochemical.properties such as: PH, titratabl. acidity, density, brix and dry matter using most at times the standard Association of Official.Anal.tical.Chemists (AOAC) methods with sl.ght modifications and resul.s compared to a l.censed brand sol. in the Cameroonian market. The resul.s of the study showed that, the physico-chemical.properties of the l.cal.y made yogurts were different within the different sampl.s. Anal.sis of variance reveal.d a significant difference in the l.vel. of the parameters anal.zed in the different yogurt sampl.s (p −1 Kg/l., Brix (8˚ - 24˚B), Dornic (23˚ - 160˚D). others contents per 100 g fresh matter are as fol.ows: dry matter (average mean of 16.54%). Hence, the significant variations in the physico-chemical.properties of kossam are a cal. for concern since as it impacts on the heal.h of the popul.tion consuming this product.
