ZnO and Zn1-xMnxO Minicrystal by CVT and Temporal Process of Photoelectrons

The ZnO and Zn1-xMnxO minicrystal were synthesized by chemical vapor transport (CVT). The electron trap structure (donor level) and process on the temporal behavior of photoelectrons of materials were respectively studied by thermo-luminescence and microwave absorption dielectric spectrometry. There are two peaks in the thermo-luminescence spectra in pure ZnO, one is -183 ℃ and the other is -127 ℃, which shows two kinds of electron trap energy level produced by the intrinsic defects in ZnO;but obtain very low thermo-luminescence that only equals to ten percent of pure ZnO in Zn1-xMnxO, which shows that its intensity of electron trap is less. The studies of microwave absorption dielectric spectrometry show that conduction band photoelectrons are two-step exponential decay process in ZnO, the lifetime of rapid process is 83 ns, while slow process is 828 ns, the reason of delay is relaxation effects of electron trap to conduction band photoelectrons. The intensity of electron trap is less in Zn1-xMnxO minicrystal, the relaxation effects of conduction band photoelectrons from electron trap is little, so electrons disappeared quickly at conduction band, and the decay process of photoelectrons is only 10～20 ns.

Plants are highly susceptible to abiotic stresses,particularly heat stress during the reproductive ***,the specific molecular mechanisms underlying this sensitivity remain largely *** the current study,we demonstrate that the Nuclear Transcription Factor,X-box Binding Protein 1-Like 1(NFXL1),directly regulates the expression of DEHYDRATION-RESPONSIVE ELEMENT-BINDING PROTEIN 2A(DREB2A),which is crucial for reproductive thermotolerance in ***1 is upregulated by heat stress,and its mutation leads to a reduction in silique length(seed number)under heat stress ***-Seq analysis reveals that NFXL1 has a global impact on the expression of heat stress responsive genes,including DREB2A,Heat Shock Factor A3(HSFA3)and Heat Shock Protein 17.6(HSP17.6)in flower ***,NFXL1 is enriched in the promoter region of DREB2A,but not of either HSFA3 or *** experiments using electrophoretic mobility shift assay have confirmed that NFXL1 directly binds to the DNA fragment derived from the DREB2A ***,effector-reporter assays have shown that NFXL1 activates the DREB2A *** DREB2A mutants are also heat stress sensitive at the reproductive stage,and DEREB2A is epistatic to NFXL1 in regulating thermotolerance in flower *** is known that HSFA3,a direct target of DREB2A,regulates the expression of heat shock proteins genes under heat stress ***,our findings establish NFXL1 as a critical upstream regulator of DREB2A in the transcriptional cassette responsible for heat stress responses required for reproductive thermotolerance in Arabidopsis.

A well‐designed three‐component reaction was developed to construct a class of optically active carbazolespirooxindole‐urazoles in good yields with excellent stereoselectivities via tandem Diels‐Alder reaction and ene‐reaction. The driving force originating from aromatization with in situ generated carbazolespirooxindole and the high reactivity of 4‐phenyl‐3H‐1,2,4‐triazole‐3,5‐dione facilitate the ene‐reaction in mild conditions. Control experiments indicated that the excellent stereoselectivities of ene‐reaction most likely came from the spatial configuration of the carbazolespirooxindole. The obtained products could be converted to other synthetic useful structures via diverse functionalization.

It is important for intelligent orchards to be able to achieve automatic monitoring of fruit growth information within a natural growing *** issue of how to track green and oscillating fruits under the influence of wind and farming operations is a key aspect of monitoring of the growth state of the *** order to realize the accurate tracking of green fruit targets,a new method based on target tracking is ***,an optical flow method is applied to realize the automatic detection of green fruit targets,and this lays the foundation for the accurate and automatic tracking of these ***,Kalman and kernelized correlation filter(KCF)algorithms are applied to achieve multi-target tracking and *** order to verify the performance of these different algorithms on various types of green fruit targets,experiments were carried out based on nine video *** experimental results for the tracking of single,double and triple green fruit targets show that the average tracking success rates of the Kalman algorithm are 88.15%,82.30%and 53.10%,respectively,and those of the KCF algorithm are 94.07%,87.35%and 61.46%,respectively,meaning that the average tracking results from KCF are 5.92%,5.05%and 8.36%higher than those from the Kalman *** time consumed is also reduced by 35.40%,36.27%and 40.86%,*** results show that it is feasible to apply the KCF algorithm to the tracking of green fruit targets.

Plants are capable of coordination of their growth and development with ambient *** FLOWERING3(ELF3), an essential component of the plant circadian clock, is also involved in ambient temperature sensing, as well as in inhibiting the expression and protein activity of the thermoresponsive regulator phytochrome interacting factor4(PIF4). The ELF3 activity is subjected to attenuation in response to warm temperature;however,how the protein level of ELF3 is regulated at warm temperature remains less understood. Here, we report that the E3 ligase XB3 ORTHOLOG 5 IN ARABIDOPSIS THALIANA, XBAT35, mediates ELF3 degradation. XBAT35 interacts with ELF3 and ubiquitinates ELF3. Loss-of-function mutation of XBAT35 increases the protein level of ELF3 and confers a short-hypocotyl phenotype under warm temperature conditions. Thus, our findings establish that XBAT35 mediates ELF3 degradation to lift the inhibition of ELF3 on PIF4 for promoting thermoresponsive hypocotyl growth in plants.

Male infertility caused by testicular damage is one of the complications of diabetes mellitus. The calcium-sensing receptor （CaSR） is expressed in testicular tissues and plays a pivotal role in calcium homeostasis by activating cellular signaling pathways, but its role in testicular damage induced by diabetes remains unclear. A diabetic model was established by a single intraperitoneal injection of streptozotocin （STZ, 40 mg kg-1） in Wistar rats. Animals then received GdCl3 （an agonist of CaSR, 8.67 mg kg-1）, NPS-2390 （an antagonist of CaSR, 0.20 g kg-~）, or a combination of both 2 months after STZ injection. Diabetic rats had significantly lower testes weights and serum levels of testosterone compared to healthy rats, indicating testicular damage and dysfunction in STZ-induced diabetic rats. Compared with healthy controls, the testicular tissues of diabetic rats overexpressed the CaSR protein and had higher levels of malondialdehyde （MDA）, lower superoxide dismutase （SOD） and glutathione peroxidase （GSH-Px） activity, and higher numbers of apoptotic germ cells. The testicular tissues from diabetic rats also expressed lower levels of Bcl-2 and higher levels of Bax and cleaved caspase-3 in addition to higher phosphorylation rates of c-Jun NH2-terminal protein kinase （JNK）, p38, and extracellular signaling-regulated kinase （ERK） 1/2. The above parameters could be further increased or aggravated by the administration of GdCI3, but could be attenuated by injection of NPS-2390. In conclusion, the present results indicate that CaSR activation participates in diabetes-induced testicular damage, implying CaSR may be a potential target for protective strategies against diabetes-induced testicular damage and could help to prevent infertility in diabetic men.

Maternal Murine Cytomegalovirus Infection during Pregnancy Up-regulates the Gene Expression of Toll-like Receptor 2 and 4 in Placenta

Increasing evidence has revealed that maternal cytomegalovirus （CMV） infection may be associated with neurodevelopmental disorders in offspring. Potential relevance between the placental inflammation and CMV-related autism has been reported by clinical observation. Meanwhile, abnormal expression of Toll-like receptor 2 （TLR2） and TLR4 in placenta of patients with chorioamnionitis was observed in multiple studies. IL-6 and IL- 10 are two important maternal inflammatory mediators involved in neurodevelopmental disorders. To investigate whether murine CMV （MCMV） infection causes alterations in placental IL-6/10 and TLR2/4 levels, we analyzed the dynamic changes in gene expression of TLR2/4 and IL-6/10 in placentas following acute MCMV infection. Mouse model of acute MCMV infection during pregnancy was created, and pre-pregnant MCMV infected, lipopolysaccharide （LPS）-treated and uninfected mice were used as controls. At E13.5, E 14.5 and E 18.5, placentas and fetal brains were harvested and mRNA expression levels of placental TLR2/4 and IL-6/10 were analyzed. The results showed that after acute MCMV infection, the expression levels of placental TLR2/4 and IL-6 were elevated at E13.5, accompanied by obvious placental inflammation and reduction of placenta and fetal brain weights. However, LPS 50 ktg/kg could decrease the IL-6 expression at E13.5 and E14.5. This suggests that acute MCMV infection during pregnancy could up-regulate the gene expression of TLR2/4 in placental trophoblasts and activate them to produce more pro- inflammatory cytokine IL-6. High dose of LPS stimulation （50 gg/kg） during pregnancy can lead to down-regulation of IL-6 levels in the late stage. Imbalance of IL-6 expression in placenta might be associated with the neurodevelopmental disorders in progeny.

Optimization of a serpentine flow field with variable channel heights and widths for PEM fuel cells

The present study proposes a modified serpentine flow field design in which the channel heights vary along each straight flow path to enhance reactant transport and liquid water removal. An optimization approach, combining a simplified conjugate-gradient method (inverse solver) and a three-dimensional, two-phase, non-isothermal fuel cell model (direct solver), has been developed to optimize the key geometric parameters. The optimal design has tapered channels for channels 1, 3 and 4 and increasing heights for channels 2 and 5 with the flow widths first increasing and then decreasing. The optimal channel heights and widths enhance the efficiency by 22.51% compared with the basic design having all heights and widths of 1 mm. The diverging channels have a greater impact on cell performance than fine adjustments of the channel widths for the present simulation conditions. The channel heights have more effect on the sub-rib convection, while the channel widths affect the uniformity of the fuel delivery more. The reduced channel heights of channels 2–4 significantly enhance the sub-rib convection to effectively transport oxygen to and liquid water out of the diffusion layer. The final diverging channel prevents significant leakage of fuel to the outlet via sub-rib convection.
