A harmonic-wave bio-thermal method for continuous monitoring skin thermal conductivity and capillary perfusion rate

The revelation of thermal energy exchange mechanism of human body is challenging yet worthwhile,because it can clearly explain the changes in human symptoms and health status.Understanding,the heat transfer of the skin is significant because the skin is the foremost organ for the energy exchange between the human body and the environment.In order to diagnose the physiological conditions of human skin without causing any damage,it is necessary to use a non-invasive measurement technique by means of a conformal flexible sensor.The harmonic method can minimize the thermal-induced injury to the skin due to its low heat generating properties.A novel type of computational theory assessing skin thermal conductivity,blood perfusion rate of capillaries in the dermis,and superficial subcutaneous tissues was formed by combining the multi-medium thermal diffusion model and the bio-thermal model(Pennes equation).The skins of the hand back of six healthy subjects were measured.It was found that the results revealed no consistent changes in thermal conductivity were observed across genders and ages.The measured blood perfusion rates were within the range of human capillary flow.It was found that female subjects had a higher perfusion rate range(0.0058-0.0061 s^(-1))than male subjects(0.0032-0.0049 s^(-1)),which is consistent with invasive medical studies about the gender difference in blood flow rates and stimulated effects in relaxation situations.

An Improved Golden Jackal Optimization Algorithm Based on Multi-strategy Mixing for Solving Engineering Optimization Problems

Nowadays,optimization techniques are required in various engineering domains to find optimal solutions for complex problems.As a result,there is a growing tendency among scientists to enhance existing nature-inspired algorithms using various evolutionary strategies and to develop new nature-inspired optimization methods that can properly explore the feature space.The recently designed nature-inspired meta-heuristic,named the Golden Jackal Optimization(GJO),was inspired by the collaborative hunting actions of the golden jackal in nature to solve various challenging problems.However,like other approaches,the GJO has the limitations of poor exploitation ability,the ease of getting stuck in a local optimal region,and an improper balancing of exploration and exploitation.To overcome these limitations,this paper proposes an improved GJO algorithm based on multi-strategy mixing(LGJO).First,using a chaotic mapping strategy to initialize the population instead of using random parameters,this algorithm can generate initial solutions with good diversity in the search space.Second,a dynamic inertia weight based on cosine variation is proposed to make the search process more realistic and effectively balance the algorithm's global and local search capabilities.Finally,a position update strategy based on Gaussian mutation was introduced,fully utilizing the guidance role of the optimal individual to improve population diversity,effectively exploring unknown regions,and avoiding the algorithm falling into local optima.To evaluate the proposed algorithm,23 mathematical benchmark functions,CEC-2019 and CEC2021 tests are employed.The results are compared to high-quality,well-known optimization methods.The results of the proposed method are compared from different points of view,including the quality of the results,convergence behavior,and robustness.The superiority and high-quality performance of the proposed method are demonstrated by comparing the results.Furthermore,to demonstrate its applicability,it is employed to solve four c

In vivo imaging reveals a synchronized correlation among neurotransmitter dynamics during propofol and sevoflurane anesthesia

General anesthesia is widely applied in clinical practice.However,the precise mechanism of loss of consciousness induced by general anesthetics remains unknown.Here,we measured the dynamics of five neurotransmitters,includingγ-aminobutyric acid,glutamate,norepinephrine,acetylcholine,and dopamine,in the medial prefrontal cortex and primary visual cortex of C57BL/6 mice through in vivo fiber photometry and genetically encoded neurotransmitter sensors under anesthesia to reveal the mechanism of general anesthesia from a neurotransmitter perspective.Results revealed that the concentrations of γ-aminobutyric acid,glutamate,norepinephrine,and acetylcholine increased in the cortex during propofol-induced loss of consciousness.Dopamine levels did not change following the hypnotic dose of propofol but increased significantly following surgical doses of propofol anesthesia.Notably,the concentrations of the five neurotransmitters generally decreased during sevoflurane-induced loss of consciousness.Furthermore,the neurotransmitter dynamic networks were not synchronized in the non-anesthesia groups but were highly synchronized in the anesthetic groups.These findings suggest that neurotransmitter dynamic network synchronization may cause anesthetic-induced loss of consciousness.

We analyzed RNA-sequencing(RNA-seq)and clinical data from head and neck squamous cell carcinoma(HNSCC)patients in The Cancer Genome Atlas(TCGA)Genomic Data Commons(GDC)portal to investigate the prognostic value of anoikis-related genes(ARGs)in HNSCC and develop new targeted drugs.Differentially expressed ARGs were screened using bioinformatics methods;subsequently,a prognostic model including three ARGs(CDKN2A,BIRC5,and PLAU)was constructed.Our results showed that the model-based risk score was a good prognostic indicator,and the potential of the three ARGs in HNSCC prognosis was validated by the TISCH database,the model’s accuracy was validated in two independent cohorts of the Gene Expression Omnibus database.Immune correlation analysis and half-maximal inhibitory concentration were also performed to reveal the different landscapes of TIME between risk groups and to predict immuno-and chemo-therapeutic responses.Potential small-molecule drugs for HNSCC were subsequently predicted using the L1000FWD database.Finally,in vitro experiments were used to verify the database findings.The relative ARG mRNA expression levels in HNSCC and surrounding normal tissues remained consistent with the model results.BIRC5 knockdown inhibited anoikis resistance in WSU-HN6 and CAL-27 cells.Molecular docking,real-time PCR,cell counting kit-8(CCK-8),plate clone,and flow cytometry analyses showed that small-molecule drugs predicted by the database may target the ARGs in the prognostic model,inhibit HNSCC cells survival rate,and promote anoikis in vitro.Therefore,we constructed a new ARG model for HNSCC patients that can predict prognosis and immune activity and identify a potential small-molecule drug for HNSCC,paving the way for clinically targeting anoikis in HNSCC.

An overview of bearing voltages and currents in rail transportation traction motors

In modern rail transportation,inverter drive systems have been extensively used due to their excellent speed control capabilities.However,in recent years,premature failure problems caused by bearing voltage and current phenomena have been frequently reported in electric motors,with electrical bearing failures making up a considerable percentage.The purpose of this review is to provide a comprehensive overview of facets relating to the electrical erosion of bearings in an electrical environment represented by railway vehicles.First,the origins of the phenomenon as well as typical bearing electrical failure modes are discussed.Next,we introduce the distinctive features of the electrical environment of railway traction motor bearings,including output voltages with high common-mode components and systems with complex grounding configurations.Then,we classify the fundamental mechanisms for generating bearing voltages/currents into four groups,and present their modeling processes,including equivalent circuit establishment and parameter determination methods.Furthermore,we summarize the strategies frequently used to protect bearings,and describe a typical solution to suppress electrical bearing failures in railway vehicles.Finally,we present a case example to illustrate a research procedure for systematic investigation of inverter-induced bearing currents in rail transportation.

The traction drive system is the“heart”of rail transit vehicles.The development of sustainable,secure,economic,reliable,efficient,and comfortable contemporary rail transportation has led to increasingly stringent requirements for traction drive systems.The interest in such systems is constantly growing,supported by advancements such as permanent magnet(PM)motors,advanced electronic devices such as those using silicon carbide(SiC),new-generation insulating materials such as organic silicon,and advanced magnetic materials such as rare-earth magnets and amorphous materials.Progress has also been made in control methods,manufacturing technology,artificial intelligence(AI),and other advanced technologies.In this paper,we briefly review the state-of-the-art critical global trends in rail transit traction drive technology in recent years.Potential areas for research and the main obstacles hindering the development of the next-generation rail transit traction drive systems are also discussed.Finally,we describe some advanced traction drive technologies used in actual engineering applications.

Background:The new emerging avian influenza A H7N9 virus,causing severe human infection with a mortality rate of around 41%.This study aims to provide a novel treatment option for the prevention and control of H7N9.Methods:H7 hemagglutinin(HA)-specific B cells were isolated from peripheral blood plasma cells of the patients previously infected by H7N9 in Jiangsu Province,China.The human monoclonal antibodies(mAbs)were generated by amplification and cloning of these HA-specific B cells.First,all human mAbs were screened for binding activity by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay.Then,those mAbs,exhibiting potent affinity to recognize H7 HAs were further evaluated by hemagglutination-inhibiting(HAI)and microneutralizationin vitro assays.Finally,the lead mAb candidate was selected and tested against the lethal challenge of the H7N9 virus using murine models.Results:The mAb 6-137 was able to recognize a panel of H7 HAs with high affinity but not HA of other subtypes,including H1N1 and H3N2.The mAb 6-137 can efficiently inhibit the HA activity in the inactivated H7N9 virus and neutralize 100 tissue culture infectious dose 50(TCID_(50))of H7N9 virus(influenza A/Nanjing/1/2013)invitro,with neutralizing activity as low as 78 ng/mL.In addition,the mAb 6-137 protected the mice against the lethal challenge of H7N9 prophylactically and therapeutically.Conclusion:The mAb 6-137 could be an effective antibody as a prophylactic or therapeutic biological treatment for the H7N9 exposure or infection.

当今社会已步入数字时代,数字平台经济作为数字经济的重要组成部分已然成为我国经济高质量发展的重要一环。平台外链封禁行为是日益激烈的数字平台竞争的副产品。数字平台外链封禁行为会抑制平台经济的良性竞争,造成无序扩张、强者通吃的局面。通过对数字平台外链封禁行为的内涵界定、违法表征分析、行为性质辨析,本文认为该行为的性质属于我国反垄断法所规制的“其他滥用市场支配地位的行为”。同时,存在封禁垃圾外链、屏蔽作弊外链、屏蔽违法信息等豁免事由。可通过借鉴欧盟“守门人”思路,完善相关立法赋予超级平台特殊义务;确立必需基础设施理论,完善我国反垄断相关立法两个方面对数字平台外链封禁行为的反垄断立法规制进行优化。
