Bacterial infection hampers wound repair by impeding the healing process.Concurrently,inflammation at the wound site triggers the production of reactive oxygen species(ROS),causing oxidative stress and damage to proteins and cells.This can lead to chronic wounds,posing severe risks.Therefore,eliminating bacterial infection and reducing ROS levels are crucial for effective wound healing.Nanozymes,possessing enzyme-like catalytic activity,can convert endogenous substances into highly toxic substances,such as ROS,to combat bacteria and biofilms without inducing drug resistance.However,the current nanozyme model with single enzyme activity falls short of meeting the complex requirements of antimicrobial therapy.Thus,developing nanozymes with multiple enzymatic activities is essential.Herein,we engineered a novel metalloenzyme called Ru-procyanidin nanoparticles(Ru-PC NPs)with diverse enzymatic activities to aid wound healing and combat bacterial infections.Under acidic conditions,due to their glutathione(GSH)depletion and peroxidase(POD)-like activity,Ru-PC NPs combined with H2O2 exhibit excellent antibacterial effects.However,in a neutral environment,the Ru-PC NPs,with catalase(CAT)activity,decompose H2O2 to O2,alleviating hypoxia and ensuring a sufficient oxygen supply.Furthermore,Ru-PC NPs possess exceptional antioxidant capacity through their superior superoxide dismutase(SOD)enzyme activity,effectively scavenging excess ROS and reactive nitrogen species(RNS)in a neutral environment.This maintains the balance of the antioxidant system and prevents inflammation.Ru-PC NPs also promote the polarization of macrophages from M1 to M2,facilitating wound healing.More importantly,Ru-PC NPs show good biosafety with negligible toxicity.In vivo wound infection models have confirmed the efficacy of Ru-PC NPs in inhibiting bacterial infection and promoting wound healing.The focus of this work highlights the quadruple enzymatic activity of Ru-PC NPs and its potential to reduce inflammation and promote bacteria-infected wound he

Analog ferroelectric domain-wall memories and synaptic devices integrated with Si substrates

Brain-inspired neuromorphic computing can overcome the energy and throughput limitations of traditional von Neumann-type computing systems,which requires analog updates of their artificial synaptic strengths for the best recognition performance and low energy consumption.Here,we report synaptic devices made from highly insulating ferroelectric linbO_(3)(LNO)thin films bonded to SiO_(2)/Si wafers.Through the creation/annihilation of periodically arrayed antiparallel domains within LNO nanocells,which are stimulated using positive/negative voltage pulses(synaptic plasticity),we can modulate the synaptic conductance linearly by controlling the number of the conducting domain walls.The multilevel conductance is nonvolatile and reproducible with negligible dispersion over 100 switching cycles,representing much better performance than that of random defect-based nonlinear memristors,which generally exhibit large-scale resistance dispersion.The simulation of a neuromorphic network using these LNO artificial synapses achieves 95.6%recognition accuracy for faces,thus approaching the theoretical yield of ideal neuromorphic computing devices.

Copper Indium Sulfide Enables Li-CO_(2)Batteries with Boosted Reaction Kinetics and Cycling Stability

High energy density Li-CO_(2)batteries have attracted much attention owing to the"two birds with one stone"feature in fixing greenhouse gas CO_(2)and providing renewable energy.However,poor reversibility of the discharge product Li_(2)CO_(3)is one of the main problems that limit its application,resulting in poor cycling stability and severe polarization.Herein,copper indium sulfide(CIS),a semiconducting non-precious metal sulfide,is fabricated as cathode catalysts for high-performance Li-CO_(2)batteries.Combined with the synergistic effect of bimetallic valence bonding and coordinated electron transfer,Li-CO_(2)batteries using CIS cathodes exhibit high full specific discharge capacity,excellent rate capability and cycle stability,namely it delivers a high specific full discharge capacity of 8878μAh cm^(-2),runs steadily from 10 to 100μA cm^(-2),and performs a stable long-term cycling behavior(>1050 h)under a high energy efficiency of 84%and a low charge voltage of approximately 3.4 V at 20μA cm^(-2)within 100μAh cm^(-2).In addition,a flexible Li-CO_(2)pouch cell is constructed to reveal the potential of employing CIS to fabricate flexible high energy storage devices in practical applications.This work shows a promising development pathway toward next-generation sustainable energy storage devices.

Effect of MMT on Flame Retardancy of PLA/IFR/LDH Composites

Nano filler synergistic intumescent flame retardant(IFR)system is an effective way to improve the flame retardant properties of polymer.In this study,the effects of montmorillonite(MMT)on the flame retardant properties of polylactic acid/layered double hydroxides(PLA/LDH)and PLA/IFR/LDH were investigated.The results show that both LDH and LDH/IFR can reduce the peak heat release rate(HRR)of PLA and prolong the combustion time of PLA;When a proportionate MMT is introduced into PLA/LDH and PLA/IFR/LDH systems,respectively,MMT will not only affect the degradation process of PLA composites during combustion,but also the PLA composites can form a more stable carbon layer during combustion,which could decrease the peak HRR and prolong combustion time of PLA composite.Furthermore,when 0.5 wt%MMT is incorporated,the peak HRR of LDH/IFR/LDH composite is reduced by 16.17%and the combustion time is prolonged by about 70 s.This study can provide an opportunity to further optimize the properties of intumescent flame retardant polymer.

FY-3E:The First Operational Meteorological Satellite Mission in an Early Morning Orbit

Fengyun-3 E(FY-3E),the world’s first early-morning-orbit meteorological satellite for civil use,was launched successfully at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center on 5 July 2021.The FY-3E satellite will fill the vacancy of the global early-morning-orbit satellite observation,working together with the FY-3C and FY-3D satellites to achieve the data coverage of early morning,morning,and afternoon orbits.The combination of these three satellites will provide global data coverage for numerical weather prediction(NWP)at 6-hour intervals,effectively improving the accuracy and time efficiency of global NWP,which is of great significance to perfect the global earth observing system.In this article,the background and meteorological requirements for the early-morning-orbit satellite are reviewed,and the specifications of the FY-3E satellite,as well as the characteristics of the onboard instrumentation for earth observations,are also introduced.In addition,the ground segment and the retrieved geophysical products are also presented.It is believed that the NWP communities will significantly benefit from an optimal temporal distribution of observations provided by the early morning,mid-morning,and afternoon satellite missions.Further benefits are expected in numerous applications such as the monitoring of severe weather/climate events,the development of improved sampling designs of the diurnal cycle for accurate climate data records,more efficient monitoring of air quality by thermal infrared remote sensing,and the quasicontinuous monitoring of the sun for space weather and climate.

Analysis of Sub-Synchronous Oscillation of Virtual Synchronous Generator and Research on Suppression Strategy in Weak Grid

At present,the direct drive permanent magnet synchronous generator(DD-PMSG)grid connected system based on virtual synchronous generator(VSG)control will experience power oscillation at sub synchronous frequencies.The mechanism and characteristics of this new type of sub-synchronous interaction(SSI)are not yet clear,and the system cannot recover to steady state solely based on the characteristics of VSG itself.Especially when connected to a weak current network,oscillations are more pronounced,affecting the stability of the system.In severe cases,the systemmay trigger shutdown protection and be disconnected from the network.Existing research has only analyzed the oscillation mechanism under this phenomenon and has not proposed corresponding control strategies.This article proposes aVSM control strategy based on the VSG control algorithm,which balances the dq axis component of voltage and current,and improves the voltage and current loop of VSG control to reduce the impact of sub-synchronous oscillation(SSO)on the power grid.In MATLAB/Simulink,a simulation model of the proposed control strategy was built to verify its correctness and effectiveness.

Spatiotemporal characteristics of seed rain and soil seed bank of artificial Caragana korshinskii Kom. forest in the Tengger Desert, China

Vegetation restoration and reconstruction are effective approaches to desertification control and achieving social and economic sustainability in desert areas.However,the self-succession ability of native plants during the later periods of vegetation restoration remains unclear.Therefore,this study was conducted to bridge the knowledge gap by investigating the regeneration dynamics of artificial forest under natural conditions.The information of seed rain and soil seed bank was collected and quantified from an artificial Caragana korshinskii Kom.forest in the Tengger Desert,China.The germination tests were conducted in a laboratory setting.The analysis of species quantity and diversity in seed rain and soil seed bank was conducted to assess the impact of different durations of sand fixation(60,40,and 20 a)on the progress of vegetation restoration and ecological conditions in artificial C.korshinskii forest.The results showed that the top three dominant plant species in seed rain were Echinops gmelinii Turcz.,Eragrostis minor Host.,and Agropyron mongolicum Keng.,and the top three dominant plant species in soil seed bank were E.minor,Chloris virgata Sw.,and E.gmelinii.As restoration period increased,the density of seed rain and soil seed bank increased first and then decreased.While for species richness,as restoration period increased,it gradually increased in seed rain but decreased in soil seed bank.There was a positive correlation between seed rain density and soil seed bank density among all the three restoration periods.The species similarity between seed rain or soil seed bank and aboveground vegetation decreased with the extension of restoration period.The shape of the seeds,specifically those with external appendages such as spines and crown hair,clearly had an effect on their dispersal,then resulting in lower seed density in soil seed bank.In addition,precipitation was a crucial factor in promoting rapid germination,also resulting in lower seed density in soil seed bank.Our findings provide valuable insigh

Evolutionary Game-theoretic Modeling of Massive Distributed Renewable Energy Deployment Towards Low-carbon Distribution Networks

This paper proposes an evolutionary game-theoretic model of massive distributed renewable energy deployment in order to shed light on the self-organization sustainable developments of renewable energies in distribution networks towards low-carbon targets. Since neighboring buses can interact in terms of energy exchanges, the return matrices of individual buses in the evolutionary game are established based on profiles of loads and renewable energy generation. More specifically, an evolutionary strategy is proposed based on the return matrices for individual buses to determine whether or not to deploy renewable energies in the next round of the game. Then, a dynamic model is derived for analyzing the renewable energy penetration rate in the distribution network throughout the multi-round evolutionary game. In theory, this model can reveal the self-organization process of renewable energy deployment in the distribution network. With this model, the distribution network operator would be aided in designing the incentives for buses deploying renewable energies toward a pre-defined low-carbon target. Numerical results on an actual 141-bus system and a synthetic 2000-bus system have demonstrated the validity and efficiency of the proposed model.
