Combustion synthesis of mesoporous CoAl_(2)O_(4)for peroxymonosulfate activation to degrade organic pollutants

A mesoporous cobalt aluminate(CoAl_(2)O_(4))spinel is synthesized through a combustion method and adopted for the activation of peroxymonosulfate(PMS)to degrade organic *** characterization procedures are conducted to investigate the morphology and physicochemical properties of the CoAl_(2)O_(4)*** to its mesoporous structure,large surface area,and high electrical conductivity,the obtained CoAl_(2)O_(4)exhibits remarkable catalytic activity for Rhodamine B(RhB)*** RhB degradation rate is 89.0 and 10.5 times greater than those of Co_(3)O_(4) and CoAl_(2)O_(4)spinel prepared by a precipitation method,***,the mesoporous CoAl_(2)O_(4)spinel demonstrates a broad operating pH range and excellent *** influence of several parameters(catalyst amount,PMS concentration,initial p H,and coexisting inorganic anions)on the oxidation of RhB is *** quenching tests and electron paramagnetic resonance experiments,sulfate radicals are identified as the predominant reactive species in RhB *** paper provides new insights for the development of efficient,stable,and reusable cobalt-based heterogeneous catalysts and promotes the application of persulfate activation technology for the treatment of refractory organic wastewater.

In this work,we open an avenue toward rational design of potential efficient catalysts for sustainable ammonia synthesis through composition engineering strategy by exploiting the synergistic effects among the active sites as exemplified by diatomic metals anchored graphdiyne via the combination of hierarchical high-throughput screening,first-principles calculations,and molecular dynamics *** 43 highly efficient catalysts feature ultralow onset potentials(|U_(onset)|≤0.40 V)with Rh-Hf and Rh-Ta showing negligible onset potentials of 0 and-0.04 V,*** high catalytic activities of Rh-Hf and Rh-Ta can be ascribed to the synergistic *** forming heteronuclears,the combinations of relatively weak(such as Rh)and relatively strong(such as Hf or Ta)components usually lead to the optimal strengths of adsorption Gibbs free energies of reaction *** origin can be ascribed to the mediate d-band centers of Rh-Hf and Rh-Ta,which lead to the optimal adsorption strengths of intermediates,thereby bringing the high catalytic *** work provides a new and general strategy toward the architecture of highly efficient catalysts not only for electrocatalytic nitrogen reduction reaction(eNRR)but also for other important *** expect that our work will boost both experimental and theoretical efforts in this direction.

During the whole service lifetime of aircraft structures with composite materials,impacts are inevitable and can usually cause severe but barely visible *** the occurrences of impact are random and unpredictable,it is a hotspot direction to develop an online impact monitoring system that can meet strict limitations of aerospace applications including small size,light weight,and low power ***(PZT)sensor,being able to generate impact response signals with no external power and cover a large-scale structure with only a small amount of them,is a promising ***,for real systems,networks with multiple nodes are normally required to monitor large-scale structures in a global way to identify any impact localization confliction,yet the existing studies are mostly evaluated with single nodes instead of ***,in this paper,based on a new low-power node designed,a Bluetooth-based digital impact monitoring PZT sensor network is proposed for the first time with its global confliction-solving impact localization *** of the system as a network are researched and analyzed on a complex real aircraft wing box for a global confliction-solving impact localization,showing a satisfying high accuracy.

Vitrification cryopreservation of ligaments based on zwitterionic betaine

Ligament cryopreservation enables a prolonged shelf life of allogeneic ligament grafts,which is fundamentally important to ligament ***,conventional cryopreservation techniques fail to eliminate the damage caused by ice crystal growth and the toxicity of cryopreservation agents(CPAs).Here,we report a novel CPA vitrification formulation primarily composed of betaine for ligament *** optimization was conducted on the methods for vitrification and rewarming,as well as the loading and unloading conditions,based on the critical cooling rate(CCR),critical warming rate(CWR),and permeation properties of the *** biomechanical and histological level tests,we demonstrate the superior performance of our method in ligament *** 30 days of vitrification cryopreservation,parameters such as the young's modulus,tensile stress,denaturation temperature,and glycosaminoglycans content of the ligament remained essentially *** work pioneers the application of ice-free cryopreservation for ligament and holds great potential for improving the long-term storage of ligament,providing valuable insights for future cryopreservation technique development.

Four distinct types of sulfated peptides have been identiﬁed in Arabidopsis *** peptides play crucial roles in regulating plant development and stress *** studies have revealed that Xan-thomonas and Meloidogyne can secrete plant-like sulfated peptides,exploiting the plant sulfated peptide signaling pathway to suppress plant *** the past three decades,receptors for these four types of sulfated peptides have been identiﬁed,all of which belong to the leucine-rich repeat receptor-like protein kinase subfamily.A number of regulatory proteins have been demonstrated to play important roles in their corresponding signal transduction *** this review,we comprehensively summarize the discov-eries of sulfated peptides and their receptors,mainly in Arabidopsis *** also discuss their known biological functions in plant development and stress ***,we put forward a number of ques-tions for reference in future studies.

Polyoxometalates for continuous power generation by atmospheric humidity

Atmospheric humidity is a sustainable low-value energy widely existing in natural environment,which is a promising candidate to solve the noncontinuous and low efficiency of low-value energy power *** the mono-substituted Dawson-type polyoxometalates are constructed to be highly dispersed organic ammonium-polyoxoanion clusters and are assembled into thin films power generators with micropores,working in atmospheric *** optimal polyoxometalates generator with the thickness of 7.2μm and the area of 0.36 cm^(2) produces a voltage of 0.68 V and a current density of 19.5μA·cm^(-2) under simulated natural environment,and works continuously and stably under almost all-natural environments(humidity 10%–90%).The highly dispersed polyoxometalate nanoclusters can form microporous in polyoxometalate films to effectively absorb atmospheric humidity and spontaneously form distribution gradient of water,which is the structural basis of power *** continuous power generation may be maintained by the effective adsorption and utilization of H_(2)O,the huge electrostatic field of organic ammonium-polyoxoanion clusters,and the reasonably designed polyoxometalates containing inorganic small ions with high *** is the first humidity generator designed with polyoxometalates,which may provide a new research direction for polyoxometalates in sustainable utilization of low-value energy.

The prevalence of social media and mobile computing has led to intensive user engagement in the emergent Cyber-Physical-Social-Thinking(CPST)***,the easy access,the lack of governance,and excessive use has generated a raft of new behaviors within CPST,which affects users’physical,social,and mental *** this paper,we conceive the Cyber-Syndrome concept to denote the collection of cyber disorders due to excessive or problematic Cyberspace interactions based on CPST *** we characterize the Cyber-Syndrome concept in terms of Maslow’s theory of Needs,from which we establish an in-depth theoretical understanding of Cyber-Syndrome from its etiology,formation,symptoms,and ***,we propose an entropy-based Cyber-Syndrome control mechanism for its computation and *** goal of this study is to give new insights into this rising phenomenon and offer guidance for further research and development.

Characterization of size-resolved effective density of atmospheric particles in an urban atmosphere in Southern China

Effective density(ρ_(eff))is one of the most important physical properties of atmospheric particles,providing important references in exploring the emissions and aging processes of fresh *** this study,a combined system of differential mobility analyzer,centrifugal particle mass analyzer,and condensation particle counter was used to periodically measure theρ_(eff)of atmospheric particles in Shenzhen from Oct.2021 to *** showed that theρ_(eff)of particles with various size presented a bimodal distribution,which could be divided into main density(ρ_(m),main peak,corresponding to relatively dense particles after aging)and sub density(ρ_(s),sub peak,corresponding to fresh particles).The occurrence frequencies ofρ_(s)of particles with diameters of 50 and 80 nm were less than 20%,but were as high as about 40%of that with diameters from 120 to 350 ***ρ_(m)showed increasing trend with the size of particles,whileρ_(s)decreased as the increasing of the size of ***ρ_(eff)on pollution day varied significantly with chemical *** increasing of the proportion of sulfate could promote the increasing ofρ_(eff),while black carbon and organic matter caused opposite effects,which may be related to various factors,including the difference of the material density and morphology of various chemical ***ρ_(eff)of 50,80 and 120 nm particles decreased considerably during the new particle formation event,indicating that organic condensation was an important contributor to new particle growth.

Recycling of Silicone Rubber from Composite Insulator with Pyrolysis Method

Composite insulators have been widely used in transmission *** being removed from transmission lines,their housing silicone material cannot degrade *** tackle this problem,this paper proposes an effective method to recycle waste insulators by pyrolysis to obtain mullite(3Al_(2)O_(3)·2SiO_(2))with high purity and compact *** recycling process studied will not generate toxic *** thermal degradation process of housing material is investigated by analyzing its degradation products including the gas and residues in *** experimental results indicate that the colorant agent Fe2O3 inside the housing material is beneficial for the generation of mullite by decreasing the temperature of ***,since the transitional alumina generated by the dehydration of aluminum hydroxide(ATH)has a smaller diameter and can better dissolute into the silica phases,ATH is a better choice as the additional aluminum *** comparing the components,structure,and particle size of grains formed at different calcination temperatures,the proposed pyrolysis temperatures of the two stages are 1400◦C and 1600◦C,respectively.
