Dedicated experiments and numerical simulations have been conducted to investigate the splitting characteristics of a gas-liquid two phase flow at a T *** experiments were carried out for different gas-liquid *** flow rates in the two branches were measured accurately to determine how the two considered phases distribute in the two *** experimental results have shown that when the two outlet pressures are asymmetric,the two-phase flow always tends to flow into the outlet which has a lower *** the inlet liquid velocity increases,however,the two-phase flow gradually tends to split *** with the experiment results,the pressure difference between the two outlets can be determined more accurately by means of numerical *** trends of experimental results and simulations are in very good agreement.

La0.1Ba0.9Fe12O19 powders with similar hexagonal crystal structure to Ba Fe12O19 have been successfully synthesized using polymer precursor method. The powders were suppressed into pellets, which were sintered into ceramics at 1,300 °C for 1 h. The structure and morphology of the ceramics have been determined by x-ray diffraction(xRD) and field emission scanning electron microscopy(FESEM). Clear electric hysteresis loops upon different amplitude of external fields indicates that La0.1Ba0.9Fe12O19 is a kind of possible ferroelectric compound. The maximum remnant polarization of La0.1Ba0.9Fe12O19 ceramic is estimated to be *9.6 l C/cm2. The Fe O6 octahedron in its perovskite-like hexagonal unit cell as well as the shift of Fe3?off the center of octahedron are proposed to be the origin of electric polarization in La0.1Ba0.9Fe12O19. Simultaneous occurrence of large ferroelectricity and strong ferromagnetism has been observed in La0.1Ba0.9Fe12O19 ceramics. More interestingly, this compound demonstrates electronic polarization behavior being actuated by an applied magnetic field, indicating the existence of magnetoelectric(ME) coupling effect in the La0.1Ba0.9Fe12O19 ceramics. Our results may lead to new device applications such as magnetically recorded ferroelectric memory.

Using the occurrence characteristics of bubble plumes in the South China Sea as a reference, this paper continues to study the seismic responses produced by bubble plumes in the cold seepage active region. To make the plume modelling scheme more reasonable, we modified the original modelling scheme and reconstructed a plume water body model based on the variation of its radius as bubbles rise in seawater. The plume seismic records of shot gathers were obtained by forward simulation. The seismic records of single shot show obvious characteristics of a scattering wave field and the periodic characteristics of the model. Seismic records of shot gathers were processed using prestack depth migration. The boundary of its imaging section has a good convergence effect. The migration sections can be imaged distinctly with higher accuracy. The aforementioned studies once again laid a foundation for the further study of the seismic responses produced by plumes. They also gradually probed a more suitable seismic data processing method for plumes and provided a theoretical guidance for the identification of plumes.

Zostera marina, a monocotyledonous angiosperm, is one of the most important seagrass species. To inves- tigate the salt-tolerance mechanism and discover salt-tolerant genes in Z. marina, a cDNA library was con- structed. Single-pass sequencing of the 5＇ ends of 4 081 clones yielded 4 002 high quality expressed sequence tags （ESTs）, which were assembled into 241 contigs and 1 673 singletons, representing 1 914 unigenes. The average length of the ESTs was 582 bp, with sizes ranging from 100-1 500 bp. Basic Local Alignment Search Tool （BLASTx） analysis revealed that 1 664 unigenes had significant homology to known genes in the Na- tional Center for Biotechnology Information （NCBI） non-redundant （nr） database （E-value≤5-10）. Among them, the two most abundant genes encoded metallothionein （157 ESTs） and chlorophyll a/b-binding pro- tein （38 ESTs）, accounting for 7.1% and 1.7% of the total ESTs, respectively. Using Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes （KEGG）, 1 462 unigenes were assigned to 1 161 pathways （E-value≤5-10）. A total of 938 unigenes were assigned Gene Ontology （GO） terms based on the GO hierarchy analysis, and InterProScan searches recognized 1 003 InterPro families. Three genes for metallothionein in Z. marina that belonged to Class II was identified. Results of this study will improve understanding of the molecular mechanisms of saline tolerance in Z. marina.

Boron had been introduced into the structure of carbon material(BC), which was used as the support of Pd catalyst for hydrogenation of 4-carboxybenzaldehyde(4-CBA). The physical properties and chemical composition of the support and corresponding catalyst were characterized by N2 adsorption–desorption,Raman spectroscopy, inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectroscopy(ICP-OES), element analysis(EA), high-resolution transmission electron microscopy(HRTEM), CO-pulse chemisorption and x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(xPS). The results demonstrate that Pd/BC catalyst exhibits a superior activity and good stability due to the more uniform dispersion of Pd nanoparticles, the presence of mesoporous structure and the enhanced interaction between Pd nanoparticles and the support, compared to carbon and N-doped carbon supported Pd catalysts(Pd/C and Pd/NC, respectively).

Generating sufficient strains on metal surfaces are highly challenging owing to that most metals can deform plastically to relax the strains on the *** this work,we developed a facile but highly efficient stacked deposition strategy to in situ activation and reconstruction of NiO/NiOOH on Ni matrix,following with the migration of Fe ions to *** Fe sites on the Ni/NiO/NiOOH facilitate the formation of the stable*OH oxygenated intermediates,and the Ni matrix in the catalyst provides the catalyst excellent *** oxygen evolution reaction(OER)performance of the stacked NiFe-5 with compressive strain displays the strengthened binding to oxygenated intermediates and superior OER activity,the ultralow overpotentials of 162 versus reversible hydrogen electrode at 10 mA cm^(-2).On the other hand,the Ni-5 without the incorporation of Fe has shown an outstanding hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)activity,affording an overpotential of 47 mV at 10 mA cm^(-2).The NiFe-5‖Ni-5 enables the overall water splitting at a voltage of 1.508 V to achieve 20 mA cm^(-2) with remarkable *** stacked deposition strategy improves binding strength of Ni-based catalysts to oxygenated intermediates via generating compressive strain,causing high catalytic activities on OER and HER.

Suitability Evaluation of Rural Settlements Based on Accessibility of Production and Living： A Case Study of Tingzu Town in Hubei Prov- ince of China

Rural settlements are the main carriers of agriculture, rural areas and farmers; thus, optimizing the production and living space of rural settlements is highly significant to rural development. Taking the effective allocation of resources as the starting point, a suitability evaluation system of rural settlements, based on accessibility of production and living, was proposed in this study to provide scientific basis for the optimization of production and living space. The accessibility of production and living was measured by an im- proved two-step floating catchment area method, which considered proximity and availability based on the inclination of rural residents. The suitability evaluation system consisted of traditional suitability evaluation and newly proposed limiting factor identification based on the loss score proportion of suitability. Tingzu Town of Hubei Province, China, was chosen as the case study area. Based on the re- suits of the suitability evaluation system, corresponding suggestions on rural land consolidation, industry division, as well as the layout of health care and education facilities were proposed to optimize the production and living space of rural settlements in Tingzu Town. It is found that the suitability evaluation based on accessibility of production and living is more scientific and accurate than the traditional ones which significantly overestimate production and living convenience. Moreover, the limiting factor identification can help us put forward suggestions according to local conditions and bring about the highly targeted optimization of production and living space of rural settlements.

Optimizing energy harvesting performance by tailoring ferroelectric/relaxor behavior in KNN-based piezoceramics

Piezoelectric energy harvesters(PEHs)fabricated using piezoceramics could convert directly the mechanical vibration energy in the environment into electrical *** high piezoelectric charge coefficient(d_(33))and large piezoelectric voltage coefficient(g_(33))are key factors for the high-performance ***,high d_(33)and large g_(33)are difficult to simultaneously achieve with respect to g_(33)=d_(33)/(e_(0)e_(r))and d_(33)=2Qe_(0)e_(r)P_(r).Herein,the energy harvesting performance is optimized by tailoring the CaZrO_(3)content in(0.964−x)(K_(0.52)Na_(0.48))(Nb_(0.96)Sb_(0.04))O_(3)-0.036(Bi_(0.5)Na_(0.5))ZrO_(3)-xCaZrO_(3)***,the doping CaZrO_(3)could enhance the dielectric relaxation due to the compositional fluctuation and structural disordering,and thus reduce the domain size to~30 nm for x=0.006 *** nanodomains switch easily to external electric field,resulting in large ***,the rhombohedral-orthorhombic-tetragonal phases coexist in x=0.006 sample,which reduces the polarization anisotropy and thus improves the piezoelectric *** multiphase coexistence structures and miniaturized domains contribute to the excellent piezoelectric properties of d_(33)(354 pC/N).Furthermore,the dielectric relative permittivity(ε_(r))reduces monotonously as the CaZrO_(3)content increases due to the relatively low ion polarizability of Ca^(2+)and Zr^(4+).As a result,the optimized energy conversion coefficient(d_(33)×g_(33),5508×10^(−15)m^(2)/N)is achieved for x=0.006 *** importantly,the assembled PEH with the optimal specimen shows the excellent output power(~48 mW)and lights up 45 red commercial light-emitting diodes(LEDs).This work demonstrates that tailoring ferroelectric/relaxor behavior in(K,Na)NbO_(3)-based piezoelectric ceramics could effectively enhance the electrical output of PEHs.
