The aim o. this study is to.determine the So.io.Eco.o.ic Status and Red Blo.d Cell Hemo.lo.in co.centratio. alteratio. in type 2 Diabetes mellitus patients attending Diabetic Clinic in Benin City, Nigeria. The sample po.ulatio. co.sists o. 142 subjects, 71 o. patients were kno.n in Type 2 Diabetes mellitus already o. drugs and were co.firmed to.be Diabetic using Gluco.e o.idase metho. while the o.her 71 subjects were age matched apparently healthy co.tro. subject o. ro.tine check up, they were co.firmed to.be no. Diabetic using the Gluco.e o.idase metho.. Hemo.lo.in co.centratio.s were do.e using the Cyanmethemo.lo.in metho.. Tho.e under the lo. inco.e So.io.Eco.o.ic status had the highest incidence o. type 2 Diabetes mellitus (49%) o. the Diabetic po.ulatio., clo.ely fo.lo.ed by the middle inco.e So.io.Eco.o.ic status (35%) o. the Diabetic po.ulatio.s.
