In this research, adsorption of cyanide onto cata- lyst synthesized with activated carbon and γ- alumina used supported and cooper has been studied by means of batch technique. Percentage adsorption was determined for this catalyst in function of pH, adsorbate concentration and temperature. Adsorption data has been interpret- ed in terms of Freundlich and Langmuir equa-tions. Thermodynamics parameters for the ad-sorption system have been determined at three different temperatures.

Environmental pollution is today a very important issue and the development of low cost materials and different sources need to be investigated. Our research group for several years she has been the development of adsorbent materials for industrial wastewater treatment and rivers. In this research compares the porosity developed by two different treatments using bovine bones to adsorb metal ions. Using bovine bones as raw material, two carbonized samples were obtained under different conditions. One of the carbonized samples was obtained in an oxidizing atmosphere at up to 600℃ for 2 hours. The other was obtained in an inert atmosphere at up to 800℃, during 2 hours. Different textural characteristics were obtained in each of the carbonized samples according to the conditions of synthesis. The carbonized sample obtained in the oxidizing atmosphere, CHUOX, produces a great pore distribution, with a significant mesopore volume, reflected in the hysteresis loop, while in carbonized bone obtained in an inert atmosphere, CHUN, a formation of micropores and mesopores smaller than that obtained in the other carbonized sample is observed. The surface area obtained is 130 m2 g-1 for CHUOX and 170 m2 g-1 for CHUN. Furthermore, the adsorption capacity of Ni2+ and Cu2+ ions from solution was measured for these two carbonized samples, and a higher retention of both ions in the carbonized sample obtained in the inert atmosphere was found, with values between 28.57 and 67.56 mg g-1. The immersion enthalpies of carbonized samples in ion solutions are determined with an exothermic effect for the solution-solid interaction.

Bioactive thermal spray coatings produced via high-velocity oxygen fuel spray(HVOF)from hydroxyapatite(HAp)and bioactive glasses(BG)have the potential to be employed on temporary implants due to the ability of both HAp and BG to dissolve and promote osseointegration,considering that both phases have different reaction and dissolution rates under in-vitro *** the present work,75%***-25%wt.S53P4 bioactive glass powders were HVOF-sprayed to obtain HAp/S53P4 BG composite coatings on a bioresorbable AZ31 *** study is focused on exploring the effect of the stand-off distance and fuel/oxygen ratio variation as HVOF parameters to obtain stable structural coatings and to establish their effect on the phases and microstructure produced in those *** characterization techniques,such as scanning electron microscopy,X-ray diffraction,and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy,were employed to characterize relevant structural and microstructural properties of the composite *** results showed that thermal gradients during coating deposition must be managed to avoid delamination due to the high temperature achieved(max 550℃)and the differences in coefficients of thermal *** was also found that both spraying distance and oxygen/fuel ratio allowed to keep the hydroxyapatite as the main phase in the *** addition,in-vitro electrochemical studies were performed on the obtained HAp/S53P4 BG composite coatings and compared against the uncoated AZ31 *** results showed a significant decrease in hydrogen evolution(at least 98%)when the bioactive coating was applied on the Mg alloy during evaluation in simulated body fluid(SBF).

n-Alkanes and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons（PAHs） bound to atmospheric particulate matter（PM1） were investigated in a traffic site located in an urban area of Venice Province（Eastern Po Valley, Italy） during the cold season. Considering the critical situation affecting the Veneto Region concerning the atmospheric pollution and the general lack of information on PM1 composition and emission in this area, this experimental study aims at determining the source profile, their relative contributions and the dispersion of finer particles. Four sources were identified and quantified using the Positive Matrix Factorization receptor model：（1） mixed combustions related to the residential activities,（2）agricultural biomass burning in addition to the resuspension of anthropogenic and natural debris carried by the wind,（3）gasoline and （4）diesel traffic-related combustions. The role of local atmospheric circulation was also investigated to identify the pollutant sources.

In this paper,we presented the development of a navigation control system for a sailboat based on spiking neural networks(SNN).Our inspiration for this choice of network lies in their potential to achieve fast and low-energy computing on specialized *** train our system,we use the modulated spike time-dependent plasticity reinforcement learning rule and a simulation environment based on the BindsNET library and USVSim *** objective was to develop a spiking neural network-based control systems that can learn policies allowing sailboats to navigate between two points by following a straight line or performing tacking and gybing strategies,depending on the sailing scenario *** presented the mathematical definition of the problem,the operation scheme of the simulation environment,the spiking neural network controllers,and the control strategy *** a result,we obtained 425 SNN-based controllers that completed the proposed navigation task,indicating that the simulation environment and the implemented control strategy work ***,we compare the behavior of our best controller with other algorithms and present some possible strategies to improve its performance.

This paper introduces an AC stochastic optimal power flow(SOPF)for the flexibility management of electric vehicle(EV)charging pools in distribution networks under *** AC SOPF considers discrete utility functions from charging pools as a compensation mechanism for eventual energy not served to their charging *** application of the AC SOPF is described where a distribution system operator(DSO)requires flexibility to each charging pool in a day-ahead time frame,minimizing the cost for flexibility while guaranteeing technical *** areas are defined for each charging pool and calculated as a function of a risk parameter involving the uncertainty of the *** show that all players can benefit from this approach,i.e.,the DSO obtains a riskaware solution,while charging pools/tasks perceive a reduction in the total energy payment due to flexibility services.

AIM To characterize esophageal endoluminal landmarks to permit radial and longitudinal esophageal orientation and accurate lesion *** Distance from the incisors and radial orientation were estimated for the main left bronchus and the left atrium landmarks in 207 consecutive patients using white light examination. A sub-study was also performed using white light followed by endoscopic ultrasound(EUS) in 25 consecutive patients to confirm the *** scope orientation throughout the exam was maintained at the natural axis,where the left esophageal quadrant corresponds to the area between 6 and 9 o'clock. When an anatomical landmark was identified, it was recorded with a photograph and its quadrant orientation and distance from the incisors were determined. The reference points to obtain the distances and radial orientation were as follows: the midpoint of the left main bronchus and the most intense pulsatile zone of the left atrium. With the video processor system set to moderate insufflation, measurements were obtained at the end of the patients' air *** The left main bronchus and left atrium esophageal landmarks were identified using white light in 99% and 100% of subjects at a mean distance of 25.8 cm(SD2.3), and 31.4 cm(SD 2.4) from the incisors, respectively. The left main bronchus landmark was found to be a tubular, concave, non-pulsatile, esophageal external compression, occupying approximately 1/4 of the circumference. The left atrium landmark was identified as a round, convex, pulsatile, esophageal external compression, occupying approximately 1/4 of the circumference. Both landmarks were identified using white light on the anterior esophageal quadrant.
