A study on the relationship between vegetation pattern and environment in the upstream of Minjiang River,China

The vegetation pattern in the upstream of Minjiang River,and its relationship with environment factors,such as landscape position(elevation,slope,aspect),precipitation and temperature and soil are analyzed in this *** data used in this paper were based on the landscape map derived from 1994 TM *** results were as follows:1)dominant landscape types were forest,shrub land and grassland,which were very similar in terms of area ratio(32.87%,31.85%and 28.44%,respectively);2)the patch shape of conifer forest and mixed forest was complicated while that of broad-leaved forest and cultivated land was simple;3)the fragmentation of conifer forest and mixed forest was serious in contrast with low fragmentation of broad-leaved forest and cultivated land;and 4)closed scrub and grassland had a high contagion and good connectivity while mixed forest had a lower contagion and bad *** addition,the vegetation distribution pattern of upstream of Minjiang River was closely related with elevation and temperature,but the relationship between vegetation and precipitation was not statistically significant.

Remote sensing-based methods of aboveground biomass(AGB)estimation in forest ecosystems have gained increased attention,and substantial research has been conducted in the past three *** paper provides a survey of current biomass estimation methods using remote sensing data and discusses four critical issues–collection of field-based biomass reference data,extraction and selection of suitable variables from remote sensing data,identification of proper algorithms to develop biomass estimation models,and uncertainty analysis to refine the estimation ***,we discuss the impacts of scales on biomass estimation performance and describe a general biomass estimation *** optical sensor and radar data have been primary sources for AGB estimation,data saturation is an important factor resulting in estimation *** Detection and Ranging(lidar)can remove data saturation,but limited availability of lidar data prevents its extensive *** literature survey has indicated the limitations of using single-sensor data for biomass estimation and the importance of integrating multi-sensor/scale remote sensing data to produce accurate estimates over large *** research is needed to extract a vertical vegetation structure(*** height)from interferometry synthetic aperture radar(InSAR)or optical stereo images to incorporate it into horizontal structures(*** cover)in biomass estimation modeling.

Ten years ago,the Botanical Society of China together with the Institute of Botany of the Chinese Academy of Sciences decided to launch the new international Journal of Plant Ecology,or in short JPE,to introduce the works of Chinese ecologists to the international community and promote ecological research in *** new journal,which could be considered as an off-spring of the corresponding Chinese-language journal,offers authors from all over the world,but also specifically from China,a platform to publish peer-reviewed original research and reviews in the broad field of plant *** initial discussions in the editorial board and with Oxford University Press,we decided that it would be best if the authors with their submissions are allowed to define the scope of the journal,because in this way we could gain a unique profile with least overlap with other international *** prime goal was to publish good and relevant science,which would produce long-term impact as a secondary result.

Photoelectrons are produced by solar Extreme Ultraviolet radiation and contribute significantly to the local ionization and heat balances in planetary upper *** the effect of transport is negligible,the photoelectron energy distribution is controlled by a balance between local production and loss,a condition usually referred to as local energy *** this study,we examine such a condition for photoelectrons near Mars,with the aid of a multi-instrument Mars Atmosphere and Volatile Evolution data set gathered over the inbound portions of a representative dayside MAVEN *** photoelectron production and loss processes considered here include primary and secondary ionization,inelastic collisions with atmospheric neutrals associated with both excitation and ionization,as well as Coulomb collisions with ionospheric thermal *** calculations indicate that photoelectron production occurs mainly via primary ionization and degradation from higher energy states during inelastic collisions;photoelectron loss appears to occur almost exclusively via degradation towards lower energy states via inelastic collisions above 10 eV,but the effect of Coulomb collisions becomes important at lower *** the energy range of 30–55 eV(chosen to reduce the influence of the uncertainty in spacecraft charging),we find that the condition of local energy degradation is very well satisfied for dayside photoelectrons from 160 to 250 *** evidence of photoelectron transport is present over this energy range.

Anti-psoriasis molecular targets and active components discovery of Optimized Yinxieling Formula via affinity-purified strategy

Psoriasis,a prevalent inherited skin condition,involves an inflammatory response as a key pathogenic *** Optimized Yinxieling Formula(OYF),rooted in traditional Chinese medicine,is extensively utilized in clinical settings to treat *** previous studies have demonstrated OYF’s significant anti-inflammatory effects in psoriasis,its potential molecular targets and active components remain *** study aimed to unveil the anti-psoriasis molecular targets and active components of *** findings indicated that OYF extract markedly reduced the production of several inflammatory mediators,including IL-23,nitric oxide,TNF-α,and IL-1β,in LPS-induced RAW264.7 *** synthesized OYF extract-crosslinked beads to isolate pharmacological targets from RAW264.7 lysates using an affinity purification strategy,known as Target *** enriched target proteins were subsequently identified via LC-MS/MS,followed by bioinformatics analysis to map the psoriasis-associated pathway-gene *** identified a total of 76 potential target proteins,which were highly associated with mRNA transcription *** particular,pathway-gene network analysis revealed that the IL-23 inflammatory pathway was involved in the anti-psoriasis effect of OYF *** further utilized a target protein-based affinity capture strategy,combined with LC-MS and SPR analysis,to globally screen OYF’s active components,focusing on the mRNA transcription regulator,fused in sarcoma(FUS).This process led to the identification of umbelliferone,vanillic acid,protocatechuic acid,gentisic acid,and echinacoside as key compounds targeting FUS to inhibit IL-23 ***,we formulated a compound cocktail(CpdC),which significantly reduced psoriasis area and severity index(PASI)scores and the expressions of IL-23 and Ki67 in an imiquimod(IMQ)-induced psoriasis mouse ***,our study elucidates the primary molecular targets and active components of OYF,offeri

With the growing demand for air transportation combined with global concerns about environmental issues and the instability and lack of renewability of the oil market,microbial production of high energy density fuels for jets(bio-jet fuels)has received more attention in recent ***-jet fuels can be derived from both isoprenoids and fatty acids,and,additionally,aromatic hydrocarbons derived from expanded shikimate pathways are also candidates for jet *** to fatty acid derivatives,most of isoprenoids and aromatic hydrocarbons used for jet fuels have higher density ***,they are also highly toxic to host *** cytotoxicity induced during the synthesis of isoprenoid or shikimate pathway-derived biofuels remains one of the major obstacles for industrial production even though synthetic and systems biology approaches have reconstructed and optimized metabolic pathways for production of these bio-jet ***,we review recent developments in the production of known and potential jet fuels by microorganisms,with a focus on alleviating cytotoxicity caused by the final products,intermediates,and metabolic pathways.
