exploring noble metal-free catalyst materials for high efficient electrochemical water splitting to produce hydrogen is strongly desired for renewable energy *** this article,a novel bifunctional catalytic electrode of insitu-grown type for alkaline water splitting based on FeCoNi alloy substrate has been successfully prepared via a facile one-step hydrothermal oxidation route in an alkaline hydrogen peroxide *** shows that the matrix alloy with the atom ratio 4∶3∶3 of Fe∶Co∶Ni can obtain the best catalytic performance when hydrothermally treated at 180℃for 18 h in the solution containing 1.8 M hydrogen peroxide and 3.6 M sodium *** as-prepared Fe_(0.4)Co_(0.3)Ni_(0.3)-1.8 electrode exhibits small overpotentials of only 184 and 175 mV at electrolysis current density of 10 mA cm^(-2)for alkaline OeR and HeR processes,*** overall water splitting at electrolysis current density of 10 mA cm^(-2)can be stably delivered at a low cell voltage of 1.62 *** characteristics including the large specific surface area,the high surface nickel content,the abundant catalyst species,the balanced distribution between bivalent and trivalent metal ions,and the strong binding of in-situ naturally growed catalytic layer to matrix are responsible for the prominent catalytic performance of the Fe_(0.4)Co_(0.3)Ni_(0.3)-1.8 electrode,which can act as a possible replacement for expensive noble metal-based materials.

In the context of racing to carbon neutrality,the pipe-embedded building system makes the opaque envelopes gradually regarded as the multi-functional element,which also provides an opportunity for thermal insulation solutions to transform from high to zero-carbon *** on the re-examination of the heat transfer process of conventional pipe-embedded radiant(CPR)walls,the modular pipe-embedded radiant(MPR)wall integrated with thermal diffusive materials is proposed to enhance the heat transfer capacity of CPR walls in the direction parallel to the wall surface,thereby forming a more stable and continuous invisible thermal barrier layer inside the opaque envelopes.A comprehensive thermal and energy-saving analysis study regarding the influence mechanism of several key factors of MPR walls,e.g.,the inclination angle of the filler cavity(θ-value),geometry size of the filler cavity(a:b-value)and thermal conductivity of the filler(λf-value),is conducted based on a validated numerical *** show that the dynamic thermal behaviors of MPR walls can be significantly improved due to that the radial thermal resistance in the filler cavity of MPR walls can be reduced by 50%,while the maximum extra exterior surface heat loss caused by the optimization measures is only 2.1%.Besides,a better technical effect can be achieved by setting the major axis of the filler cavity towards the room side,where the interior surface heat load/total injected heat first decreases/increases and then increases/decreases with the increase of theθ-*** particular,the MPR wall withθL=60°can obtain the best performance when other conditions remain the ***,the performance indicators of MPR walls can be further improved with the increase of the cavity size(a:b-value),while showing a trend of rapid improvement in theλf-value range of 2–5λC and slow improvement increase in theλf-value range of 5–12λ*** addition,the improvement effect brought by optimizing theθ-value is more o

Drinking water source contamination poses a great threat to human health in developing ***-of-use(POU)water treatment techniques,which improve drinking water quality at the household level,offer an affordable and convenient way to obtain safe drinking water and thus can reduce the outbreaks of waterbome *** water filters(CWFs),fabricated from locally sourced materials and manufactured by local labor,are one of the most socially acceptable POU water treatment technologies because of their effectiveness,low-cost and ease of *** review concisely summarizes the critical factors that influence the performance of CWFs,including(1)CWF manufacturing process(raw material selection,firing process,silver impregnation),and(2)source water ***,an in-depth discussion is presented with emphasis on key research efforts to address two major challenges of conventional CWFs,including(1)simultaneous increase of filter flow rate and bacterial removal efficiency,and(2)removal of various concerning pollutants,such as viruses and metal(loid)*** promote the application of CWFs,future research directions can focus on:(1)investigation of pore size distribution and pore structure to achieve higher flow rates and effective pathogen removal by elucidating pathogen transport in porous ceramic and adjusting manufacture parameters;and(2)exploration of new surface modification approaches with enhanced interaction between a variety of contaminants and ceramic surfaces.

Magnesium alloys are lightweight materials with great potential,and plasma electrolytic oxidation(PeO)is effective surface treatment for necessary improvement of corrosion resistance of magnesium ***,the∼14µm thick and rough PeO protection layer has inferior wear resistance,which limits magnesium alloys as sliding or reciprocating parts,where magnesium alloys have special advantages by their inherent damping and denoising properties and attractive *** a novel super wear-resistant coating for magnesium alloys was achieved,via the discontinuous sealing(DCS)of a 1.3µm thick polytetrafluoroethylene(PTFe)polymer layer with an initial area fraction(A_(f))of 70%on the necessary PeO protection layer by selective spraying,and the wear resistance was exceptionally enhanced by∼5500 times in comparison with the base PeO *** initial surface roughness(Sa)under PeO+DCS(1.54µm)was imperfectly 59%higher than that under PeO and conventional continuous sealing(CS).Interestingly,DCS was surprisingly 20 times superior for enhancing wear resistance in contrast to *** induced nano-cracks that splitted DCS layer into multilayer nano-blocks,and DCS also provided extra space for the movement of nano-blocks,which resulted in rolling friction and nano ***,DCS promoted mixed wear of the PTFe polymer layer and the PeO coating,and the PTFe layer(HV:6 Kg·mm^(−2),A_(f):92.2%)and the PeO coating(HV:310 Kg·mm^(−2),A_(f):7.8%)served as the soft matrix and the hard point,***,the dynamic decrease of Sa by 29%during wear also contributed to the super wear *** strategy of depositing a low-frictional discontinuous layer on a rough and hard layer or matrix also opens a window for achieving super wear-resistant coatings in other materials.

近年来,水利水电工程中暴发了沼蛤(淡水壳菜)污损问题,不同程度地影响了水利和水电工程的输水、生产等安全,引起了国内外社会广泛关注。本文研究结果显示,沼蛤在长江流域主要分布于四川及以下的低海拔区,四川以上高海拔区未见记录;基于COI和ITS 1基因联合构建的系统发育树分析显示,长江流域沼蛤可能存在两个类群,其中COI序列A+T含量(64.7%)显著高于C+G含量(35.3%),种内遗传距离范围为0~0.123;COI序列总单倍型多样性指数为0.893,核苷酸多样性指数为0.069;ITS 1序列A+T含量为45.3%,C+G含量为54.7%,种内遗传距离范围为0~0.061;ITS 1序列总单倍型多样性指数为0.679,核苷酸多样性指数为0.028。基于COI基因分析的两个亲缘关系类群间的遗传分化系数为0.844,基因差异分化系数为0.118;基于ITS 1基因分析的相应参数分别为0.927和0.492。基于形态学特征分析显示,长江流域沼蛤的长高比、长宽比和韧带长度差异显著,可明显分成两个类群,且与COI和ITS 1基因分析显示的两个类群相对应。基于栖息生境分析显示,长江流域沼蛤类群1主要生活在水流较缓、底质以卵石为主的区域,表现为缓流型;类群2主要生活在水流较急、底质以泥沙为主的区域,表现为激流型,对环境的适应性更强,分布范围较类群1更广,在传播扩散能力方面表现更强。本研究有助于了解长江流域沼蛤基础生物学信息,可为流域沼蛤的综合防控提供重要参考。

Field survey and greenhouse experiments were carried out to identify and characterize zinc (Zn) uptake and accumulation by a new Zn hyperaccumulating plant species (Sedum alfredii Hance) native to China. Zinc concentration in the shoots of Sedum alfredii Hance grown on an ancient mined area ranged from 4134 to 5000 mg/kg, with a mean of 4515 mg/kg. It suggests that Sedum alfredii could not only grow on heavily Pb/Zn contaminated soils, but also could accumulate extraordinarily high concentration of Zn. Under nutrient solution culture conditions, Sedum alfredii Hance grew healthy at Zn supplying levels from 0.006 to 240 mg · L-1. Zinc concentration in the shoots increased with external Zn levels increasing. The Zn concentration and accumulation in the shoots reached the highest at Zn supply level of SO mg/L, with 19.67 g/kg and 19.83 nig/plant, respectively. Chaperone-mediated autophagy （CMA）, one of the main pathways of lysosomal proteolysis, is characterized by the selective targeting and direct translocation into the lysosomal lumen of substrate proteins containing a targeting motif biochemically related to the pentapeptide KFeRQ. Along with the other two lysosomal pathways, macro- and micro-autophagy, CMA is essential for maintaining cellular homeostasis and survival by selectively degrading misfolded, oxidized, or damaged cytosolic proteins. CMA plays an important role in pathologies such as cancer, kidney disorders, and neurodegenerative diseases. Neurons are post-mitotic and highly susceptible to dysfunction of cellular quality-control systems. Maintaining a balance between protein synthesis and degradation is critical for neuronal functions and homeostasis. Recent studies have revealed several new mechanisms by which CMA protects neurons through regulating factors critical for their viability and homeostasis. In the current review, we summarize recent advances in the understanding of the regulation and physiology of CMA with a specific focus on its possible roles in neuroprotection.

A Strong Stability-Preserving Predictor-Corrector Method for the Simulation of elastic Wave Propagation in Anisotropic Media

In this paper,we propose a strong stability-preserving predictor-corrector(SSPC)method based on an implicit Runge-Kutta method to solve the acoustic-and elastic-wave *** first transform the wave equations into a system of ordinary differential equations(ODes)and apply the local extrapolation method to discretize the spatial high-order derivatives,resulting in a system of semi-discrete *** we use the SSPC method based on an implicit Runge-Kutta method to solve the semi-discrete ODes and introduce a weighting parameter into the SSPC *** top of such a structure,we develop a robust numerical algorithm to effectively suppress the numerical dispersion,which is usually caused by the discretization of wave equations when coarse grids are used or geological models have large velocity contrasts between adjacent ***,we investigate the performance of the SSPC method including numerical errors and convergence rate,numerical dispersion,and stability criteria with different choices of the weighting parameter to solve 1-D and 2-D acoustic-and elastic-wave *** the SSPC is applied to seismic simulations,the computational efficiency is also investigated by comparing the SSPC,the fourth-order Lax-Wendroff correction(LWC)method,and the staggered-grid(SG)finite *** of synthetic waveforms computed by the SSPC and analytic solutions for acoustic and elastic models are given to illustrate the accuracy and the validity of the ***,several numerical experiments are conducted for the geological models including a 2-D homogeneous transversely isotropic(TI)medium,a two-layer elastic model,and the 2-D SeG/eAGe salt *** results show that the SSPC can be used as a practical tool for large-scale seismic simulation because of its effectiveness in suppressing numerical dispersion even in the situations such as coarse grids,strong interfaces,or high frequencies.

Big Data Knowledge Pricing Schemes for Knowledge Recipient Firms

Big data knowledge,such as customer demands and consumer preferences,is among the crucial external knowledge that firms need for new product development in the big data *** research has focused on the profit of big data knowledge providers rather than the profit and pricing schemes of knowledge *** research addresses this theoretical gap and uses theoretical and numerical analysis to compare the profitability of two pricing schemes commonly used by knowledge recipients:subscription pricing and pay-per-use *** find that:(1)the subscription price of big data knowledge has no effect on the optimal time of knowledge transaction in the same pricing scheme,but the usage ratio of the big data knowledge affects the optimal time of knowledge transaction,and the smaller the usage ratio of big data knowledge the earlier the big data knowledge transaction conducts;(2)big data knowledge with a higher update rate can bring greater profits to the firm both in subscription pricing scheme and pay-per-use pricing scheme;(3)a knowledge recipient will choose the knowledge that can bring a higher market share growth rate regardless of what price scheme it adopts,and firms can choose more efficient knowledge in the pay-per-use pricing scheme by adjusting the usage ratio of knowledge usage according to their economic *** model and findings in this paper can help knowledge recipient firms select optimal pricing method and enhance future new product development performance.
