Bioceramic scaffolds with two-step internal/external modification of copper-containing polydopamine enhance antibacterial and alveolar bone regeneration capability

Magnesium-doped calcium silicate(CS)bioceramic scaffolds have unique advantages in mandibular defect repair;however,they lack antibacterial properties to cope with the complex oral microbiome.Herein,for the first time,the CS scaffold was functionally modified with a novel copper-containing polydopamine(PDA(Cu^(2+)))rapid deposition method,to construct internally modified(*P),externally modified(@PDA),and dually modified(*P@PDA)scaffolds.The morphology,degradation behavior,and mechanical properties of the obtained scaffolds were evaluated in vitro.The results showed that the CS*P@PDA had a unique micro-/nano-structural surface and appreciable mechanical resistance.During the prolonged immersion stage,the release of copper ions from the CS*P@PDA scaffolds was rapid in the early stage and exhibited long-term sustained release.The in vitro evaluation revealed that the release behavior of copper ions ascribed an excellent antibacterial effect to the CS*P@PDA,while the scaffolds retained good cytocompatibility with improved osteogenesis and angiogenesis effects.Finally,the PDA(Cu^(2+))-modified scaffolds showed effective early bone regeneration in a critical-size rabbit mandibular defect model.Overall,it was indicated that considerable antibacterial property along with the enhancement of alveolar bone regeneration can be imparted to the scaffold by the two-step PDA(Cu^(2+))modification,and the convenience and wide applicability of this technique make it a promising strategy to avoid bacterial infections on implants.

Tuning filament composition and microstructure of 3D-printed bioceramic scaffolds facilitate bone defect regeneration and repair

It is still a challenge to optimize the component distribution and microporous structures in scaffolds for tailoring biodegradation(ion releasing)and enhancing bone defect repair within an expected time stage.Herein,the core–shell-typed nonstoichiometric wollastonite(4%and 10%Mg-doping calcium silicate;CSiMg4,CSiMg10)macroporous scaffolds with microporous shells(adding~μ10 μm PS microspheres into shell-layer slurry)were fabricated via 3D printing.The initial mechanical properties and bio-dissolution(ion releasing)in vitro,and osteogenic capacity in vivo of the bioceramic scaffolds were evaluated systematically.It was shown that endowing high-density micropores in the sparingly dissolvable CSiMg10 or dissolvable CSiMg4 shell layer inevitably led to nearly 30%reduction of compressive strength,but such micropores could readily tune the ion release behaviour of the scaffolds(CSiMg4@CSiMg10 vs.CSiMg4@CSiMg10-p;CSiMg10@CSiMg4 vs.CSiMg10@CSiMg4-p).Based on the in rabbit femoral bone defect repair model,the 3D μCT reconstruction and histological observation demonstrated that the CSiMg4@CSiMg10-p scaffolds displayed markedly higher osteogenic capability than the other scaffolds after 12weeks of implantation.It demonstrated that core–shell bioceramic 3D printing technique can be developed to fabricate single-phase or biphasic bioactive ceramic scaffolds with accurately tailored filament biodegradation for promoting bone defect regeneration and repair in some specific pathological conditions.

目的探究基于固定床旁交接模式的沟通流程对非侵袭性霉菌性鼻窦炎术后患者的应用效果。方法选取科室113例非侵袭性霉菌性鼻窦炎术后患者,根据随机数字表法分组。给予对照组(56例)常规交接班模式,给予观察组(57例)基于固定床旁交接模式的沟通流程,对比两组患者交接班效果、评判性思维能力及心境状态。结果观察组中文版护士交接班评估量表(NASR)评分、干预后观察组中文版评判性思维能力测量表(CTDI-CV)评分、自我护理能力量表(ESCA)评分高于对照组,交接班缺陷率、简明心境问卷(POMS)、焦虑自评量表(SAS)、抑郁自评量表(SDS)评分低于对照组,护理交接班时间短于对照组(P<0.05)。结论基于固定床旁交接模式的沟通流程对非侵袭性霉菌性鼻窦炎术后患者干预,可有效提高护士评判性思维能力和交接班效果,改善患者自护能力,降低焦虑抑郁情绪。

Temporal and environmental factors drive community structure and function of methanotrophs in volcanic forest soils

Methanotrophs,organisms that obtain oxygen by oxidizing methane,are recognized as the only known biological sink for atmospheric CH_4,and forest soil methanotrophs play crucial roles in mitigating global warming.The succession patterns of methanotrophic communities and functions in Wudalianchi volcano forest soils could provide a basis for the study of evolutionary mechanisms between soil microorganisms,the environment,and carbon cycling of temperate forest ecosystems under climate change.In this study,the characteristics and drivers of methanotrophic community structure and function of two volcanic soils at different stages of development are analyzed,including an old volcano and a new volcano,which most recently erupted 300 years and 17-19×10^(5)years ago,respectively,and a non-volcano hills as control,based on space for time substitution and Miseq sequencing and bioinformation technology.The results showed that CH_(4) fluxes were significantly higher in old-stage volcano forest soils than new-stage forest soils and non-volcano forest soils.There were significant differences in the community composition and diversity of soil methanotrophs from different volcano forest soils.Methylococcus was the dominant genus in all soil samples.Additionally,the relative abundance of Methylococcus,along with Clonothrix,Methyloglobulus,Methylomagum,Methylomonas and Methylosarcina,were the important genera responsible for the differences in methanotrophic community structure in different volcano forest soils.The relative abundance of methanotroph belonging toγ-proteobacteria was significantly higher than that belonging toα-proteobacteria(P<0.05).Chao1,Shannon and Simpson indices of soil methanotrophic community were significantly lower in new-stage volcanos and were significantly affected by bulk density,total porosity,p H,nitrate,dissolved organic carbon and dissolved organic nitrogen.There were significant differences in community structure between new-stage and old-stage volcanoes.Bulk density and p H are important soil prope

Near infrared emissions from both high efficient quantum cutting (173%) and nearly-pure-color upconversion in NaY(WO_(4))_(2):Er^(3+)/Yb^(3+) with thermal management capability for silicon-based solar cells

Raising photoelectric conversion efficiency and enhancing heat management are two critical concerns for siliconbased solar cells.In this work,efficient Yb^(3+) infrared emissions from both quantum cutting and upconversion were demonstrated by adjusting Er^(3+) and Yb^(3+) concentrations,and thermo-manage-applicable temperature sensing based on the luminescence intensity ratio of two super-low thermal quenching levels was discovered in an Er^(3+)/Yb^(3+) codoped tungstate system.The quantum cutting mechanism was clearly decrypted as a two-step energy transfer process from Er^(3+) to Yb^(3+).The two-step energy transfer efficiencies,the radiative and nonradiative transition rates of all interested 4 f levels of Er^(3+) in NaY(WO_(4))_(2) were confirmed in the framework of Föster-Dexter theory,Judd-Ofelt theory,and energy gap law,and based on these obtained efficiencies and rates the quantum cutting efficiency was furthermore determined to be as high as 173%in NaY(WO_(4))_(2):5 mol%Er^(3+)/50 mol%Yb^(3+) sample.Strong and nearly pure infrared upconversion emission of Yb3+under 1550 nm excitation was achieved in Er^(3+)/Yb^(3+)co-doped NaY(WO_(4))_(2) by adjusting Yb^(3+) doping concentrations.The Yb^(3+) induced infrared upconversion emission enhancement was attributed to the efficient energy transfer ^(4)I_(11/2)(Er^(3+))+^(2)F_(7/2)(Yb^(3+))→^(4)I_(15/2)(Er^(3+))+^(2)F_(5/2)(Yb^(3+))and large nonradiative relaxation rate of ^(4)I_(9/2).Analysis on the temperature sensing indicated that the NaY(WO_(4))_(2):Er^(3+)/Yb^(3+)serves well the solar cells as thermos-managing material.Moreover,it was confirmed that the fluorescence thermal quenching of ^(2)H_(11/2)/^(4)S_(3/2) was caused by the nonradiative relaxation of ^(4)S_(3/2).All the obtained results suggest that NaY(WO_(4))_(2):Er^(3+)/Yb^(3+) is an excellent material for silicon-based solar cells to improve photoelectric conversion efficiency and thermal management.

慢性牙周炎属于慢性感染性疾病,与多种全身疾病存在双向关系。帕金森病是一种常见的神经退行性变性疾病,炎症反应在其进展中起到一定作用。近年来,大量研究提示慢性牙周炎与帕金森病等神经退行性变性疾病之间存在潜在联系,帕金森病患者牙周状况较差,其口腔菌群组成与健康人群存在差异;与此同时,慢性牙周炎患者罹患帕金森病的风险更高,定期牙周治疗可能在一定程度上降低该风险。慢性牙周炎与帕金森病的相互作用机制尚未明确,部分研究认为帕金森病患者可能由于运动及非运动症状,无法有效维护口腔卫生,增加牙周炎患病风险;小胶质细胞介导的神经炎症则可能是慢性牙周炎影响帕金森病的关键,牙周致病菌及炎症介质或可通过多种途径进入大脑并激活小胶质细胞,最终影响帕金森病的发生发展。本文就慢性牙周炎与帕金森病相关性及可能的交互作用机制的最新研究进展作一综述,以期为进一步探讨两者相互影响的研究提供思路。

数字化技术联合富血小板纤维蛋白新型牙周再生技术治疗后牙舌侧根分叉病变6年随访1例

常规牙周再生术对牙周炎非包含性骨缺损患牙的治疗效果有限,本文报道1例采用数字化技术联合富血小板纤维蛋白的新型牙周再生手术治疗下颌第一磨牙远中舌侧根分叉病变病例。术后患者牙周临床指数获得明显改善,牙槽骨得到良好修复再生。

孟德尔随机化是一种以遗传变异为工具变量的因果推断法,它利用遗传变异的分配随机性和时序优先性,有效克服了传统观察性研究中的混杂偏倚和反向因果,成为近年的研究热点。牙周炎作为一种复杂的炎症性疾病,其与多种因素间存在相互关联,但这种关联认知多基于传统观察性研究,目前仍缺乏推断因果关系的有力证据。鉴于孟德尔随机化可能给牙周领域带来新的研究思路,本文针对该方法及其在牙周炎研究领域中的应用进展作一综述。

Chemical cleaning and disinfection are crucial steps for eliminating infection in root canal treatment. However, irrigant selection or irrigation procedures are far from clear. The vapor lock effect in the apical region has yet to be solved, impeding irrigation efficacy and resulting in residual infections and compromised treatment outcomes.
