Duloxe.ine.DUL), an antide.re.sant drug, has be.n de.e.te. in surface.wate. and waste.ate. e.flue.ts, howe.e., the.e.is little.information on the.formation of its transformation products(TPs). In this work, hydrolysis, photode.radation(UV irradiation) and chlorination e.pe.ime.ts we.e.pe.forme. on spike. distillate. wate., unde. controlle. e.pe.ime.tal conditions to simulate.abiotic proce.se. that can occur in the.e.vironme.t and waste.ate. tre.tme.t plants(WWTPs). e.e.e. TPs, nine.from re.ction with UV light and two from chlorine.contact, we.e.forme. and de.e.te. by ultra-high pe.formance.liquid chromatography couple. to quadrupole.time.of-flight mass spe.trome.ry, and nine.of the. had the.r che.ical structure. e.ucidate. upon analyse. of the.r fragme.tation patte.ns in MS/MS spe.tra. The.formation and de.radation of the.TPs we.e.obse.ve.. The.pare.t compound was comple.e.y de.rade. afte.30 min in photode.radation and afte. 24 hr in chlorination. Almost all TPs we.e.comple.e.y de.rade. in the.e.pe.ime.ts. The.e.otoxicity and mutage.icity of the.TPs we.e.pre.icte. base. on se.e.al in silico mode.s and it was found that a fe. of the.e.products pre.e.te. more.e.otoxicity than DUL itse.f and six TPs showe. positive.mutage.icity. Finally, waste.ate. sample. we.e.analyze. and DUL and one.TP, possibly forme. by chlorination proce.s, we.e.de.e.te. in the.e.flue.t, which showe. that WWTP not only did not re.ove.DUL, but also forme. a TP.

This study was de.igne. to asse.s the.value.of e.rly postope.ative.intramucosal pH me.sure.e.ts for the.pre.iction of anastomotic le.kage.in patie.ts with colore.tal anastomosis. Me.HODS: A prospe.tive.study of 90 patie.ts with re.tal or sigmoid cance. with primary anastomosis was conducte.. In all patie.ts intramucosal pH was de.e.mine. by using tonome.ry at the.anastomotic and gastric le.e.s during the.first 24 and 48 hours postope.ative.y. Se.e. othe. variable. also we.e.te.te. by univariate.and multivariate.analysis for any association with anastomotic le.kage. Re.ULTS: The.rate.of clinical anastomotic le.kage.was 6.6 pe.ce.t. Multivariate.analysis showe. that only the.intramucosal pH at the.anastomosis was an inde.e.de.t factor for the.de.e.opme.t of anastomotic le.kage. This pape. e.amine. the.fore.asting skill of the.North Ame.ican Multi-mode. e.se.ble.(NMMe. ove. e.hiopia during the.June.to Se.te.be. (JJAS) se.son. The.NMMe. one.of the.multi-mode. se.sonal fore.asting syste.s, re.ularly ge.e.ate. monthly se.sonal rainfall fore.asts ove. the.globe.with 0.5 - 11.5 months lead time. The skill and predictability of seasonal rainfall are assessed using 28 years of hindcast data from the NMME models. The forecast skill is quantified using canonical correlation analysis (CCA) and root mean square error. The results show that the NMME models capture the JJAS seasonal rainfall over central, northern, and northeastern parts of Ethiopia while exhibiting weak or limited skill across western and southwestern Ethiopia. The performance of each model in predicting the JJAS seasonal rainfall is variable, showing greater skill in predicting dry conditions. Overall, the performance of the multi-model ensemble was not consistently better than any single ensemble member. The correlation of observed and predicted seasonal rainfall for the better performing models—GFDL-CM2p5-FLOR-A06, CMC2-CanCM4, GFDL-CM2p5-FLOR-B01 and NASA-GMAO-062012—is 0.68, 0.58, 0.52, and 0.5, respectively.
