A model for the tendency of fragmentation of a long rod projectile subjected to armour components in add-on armours such as reactive armour and active protection systems is presented. The model is based on studies of the interaction between a cylindrical streamlined projectile and moving thin plates(backwards moving like the front plate in a reactive armour panel and forwards moving like the rear plate in a reactive armour panel).The assumption behind the model is that the sliding force, with velocity vslidebetween the projectile and the plate, gives rise to a transverse velocity vtransof the projectile segment it passes, which will deflect the projectile segment. This deflection is assumed to be a major reason for the fractures that can emerge along the projectile. The velocity, geometry and material of the projectile and the plate are of importance for the fragmentation of the projectile and the dimensionless parameterδ? = v trans vslideexpresses how these parameters influence the break-up tendency. Experiments and simulations have verified that the identifiedδ?-parameter predicts an increased amount of fragmentation of the projectile with increasing value of this parameter.

Central nervous system （CNS） presents a complex regeneration problem due to the inability of central neurons to regenerate correct axonal and dendritic connections. However, recent advances in developmental neurobiology, cell signaling, cell-matrix interaction, and biomaterials technologies have forced a reconsideration of CNS regeneration potentials from the viewpoint of tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. The applications of a novel tissue regeneration-inducing biomaterial and stem cells are thought to be critical for the mission. The use of peptide nanoflber hydrogels in cell therapy and tissue engineering offers promising perspectives for CNS regeneration. Self-assembling peptide undergo a rapid transformation from liquid to gel upon addition of counterions or pH adjustment, directly integrating with the host tissue. The peptide nanofiber hydrogels have mechanical properties that closely match the native central nervous extracellular matrix, which could enhance axonal growth. Such materials can provide an optimal three dimensional microenvironment for encapsulated cells. These materials can also be tailored with bioactive motifs to modulate the wound environment and enhance regeneration. This review intends to detail the recent status of selfassembling peptide nanoflber hydrogels for CNS regeneration.

Abstract A catalyst for removal of nitrogen oxides, in stationary Sources, requires many kinds of characteristicsfor commercial application. At first, a vanadium pentaoxide based catalyst was used for the NO-NH3-OZreaction because of its high activity at lower temperatures. But it was`later found that this catalyst had *** like a low thermal durability and a high conversion rate of SO: to SO3. On the other hand, tungstentrioxide was well known as a catalyst that has a high thermal durability and a low conversion rate of SOZto SO3 but showed a low activity at appropriate temperature. For these reasons, tungsten trioxide basedcatalysts have not been used in the reaction in most actual plants except for special cases. Further *** on this catalyst revealed that a catalyst comprising of titania f80 wt%￣ 90 wt%j- tungsten trioxide(5 wt% ￣ 15 wt%j, and vanadium pentaoxide (0,l wt%￣ 5 wt%j, showed a high thermal durability and alow conversion rate of SOZ to SO3 as well as high activity towards the NO-NHrOz reaction.

Objective To prepare the live recombinant vaccine of attenuated Salmonella typhimurium SL3261 expressing Helicobacterpylori （H. pylori） B subunit （UreB） and to determine whether it could be used as an oral vaccine against H. pylori infection. Methods Using genomic DNA of H. pylori Sydney strain （SS1） as template, the H. pylori UreB gene fragment was amplified by PCR and subcloned into the expression vector pTC01. The recombinant plasmid pTC01-UreB was then transferred into LBS000 to obtain modified forms, and further conversed into the attenuated Salmonella typhimurium SL3261 to obtain recombinant SL3261/pCT01-UreB as an oral immunization reagent, which was then used to orally immunize Balb/c mice twice at a three-week interval. Twelve weeks later, anti-UreB IgA antibodies in intestinal fluid and IgG antibodies in sera were determined by ELISA. The relating data in control groups （including body weight, gastric inflammation, etc.） were also collected. Results The sequencing analysis showed that the UreB gene fragment amplified by PCR was consistent with the sequence of the H. pylori UreB gene. The restriction enzyme digestion revealed that the correct pTC01-UreB was obtained. SDS-PAGE and Western blot showed that a 61KD protein was expressed in SL3261/pTC01-UreB, which could be recognized by anti-H, pylori UreB antiserum and was absent in the control containing only Salmonella typhimurium SL3261 strain. The multiple oral immunization with SL3261/pTC01-UreB could significantly induce H. pylori specific mucosal IgA response as well as serum IgG responses. IFN-T and IL-10 levels were significantly increased in SL3261/pTC01-UreB group, and no obvious side effect and change in gastric inflammation were observed. Conclusion The attenuated vaccine of Salmonella typhimurium expressing H. pylori UreB can be used as an oral vaccine against H. pylori infection.

The genus Corydalis, with ca. 530 species, has long been considered taxonomically challenging because of its great variability. Previous molecular analyses,based on a few molecular markers and incomplete taxonomic sampling, were clearly inadequate to delimit sections and subgenera. We have performed phylogenetic analyses of Corydalis and related taxa,using 65 shared protein-coding plastid genes from313 accessions(including 280 samples of ca. 226species of Corydalis) and 152 universal low-copy nuclear genes from 296 accessions(including 271samples of Corydalis) covering all 42 previously recognized sections and five independent “series”.Phylogenetic trees were inferred using Bayesian Inference and Maximum Likelihood. Eight selected morphological characters were estimated using ancestral state reconstructions. Results include:(i) of the three subgenera of Corydalis, two are fully supported by both the plastid and nuclear data;the third,subg. Cremnocapnos, is weakly supported by plastid DNA only, whereas in the nuclear data the two included sections form successive outgroups to the rest of the genus;(ii) among all 42 sections and five“series”, 25 sections and one “series” are resolved as monophyletic in both data sets;(iii) the common ancestor of Corydalis is likely to be a perennial plant with a taproot, yellow flowers with a short saccate spur, linear fruits with recurved fruiting pedicels, and seeds with elaiosomes;(iv) we provide a new classification of Corydalis with four subgenera(of which subg. Bipapillatae is here newly described), 39 sections, 16 of which are consistent with the previous classification, 16 sections have been recircumscribed, one section has been reinstated and six new sections are established. Characters associated with lifespan, underground structures, floral spur, fruit and elaiosomes are important for the recognition of subgenera and sections. AIM: To explore the usefulness of magnetic resonance imaging(MRI) and spectroscopy(MRS) for assessment of non-alcoholic fat liver disease(NAFLD) as compared with liver histological and metabolomics findings. METHODS: Patients undergoing bariatric surgery following procedures involved in laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy were recruited as a model of obesityinduced NAFLD in an observational, prospective, singlesite, cross-sectional study with a pre-set duration of 1 year. Relevant data were obtained prospectively and surrogates for inflammation, oxidative stress and lipid and glucose metabolism were obtained through standard laboratory measurements. To provide reliable data from MRI and MRS, novel procedures were designed to limit sampling variability and other sources of error using a 1.5T Signa HDx scanner and protocols acquired from the 3D or 2D Fat SAT FIESTA prescription manager. We used our previously described 1H NMRbased metabolomics assays. Data were obtained immediately before surgery and after a 12-mo period including histology of the liver and measurement of metabolites. Values from 1H NMR spectra obtained after surgery were omitted due to technical ***: MRI data showed excellent correlation with the concentration of liver triglycerides, other hepatic lipid components and the histological assessment, w h i c h e xc l u d e d t h e p r e s e n c e o f n o n-a l c o h o l i c steatohepatitis(NASH). MRI was sufficient to follow up NAFLD in obese patients undergoing bariatric surgery and data suggest usefulness in other clinical situations. The information provided by MRS replicated that obtained by MRI using the-CH3 peak(0.9 ppm), the-CH2- peak(1.3 ppm, mostly triglyceride) and the-CH=CH- peak(2.2 ppm). No patient depicted NASH. After surgery all patients significantly decreased their body weight and steatosis was virtually absent even in patients with previous severe disease.
