Prevalence of prolonged grief disorder and its symptoms among bereaved individuals in China:a systematic review and meta-analysis

Background The prevalence of prolonged grief disorder(PGD)and its symptoms among the bereaved population in China vary considerably.Aims This meta-analysis aims to estimate the prevalence of PGD and its symptoms among bereaved individuals in China.Methods We conducted a literature search in major Chinese and English databases from their inception to 4 October 2023,for cross-sectional studies on the prevalence of PGD or its symptoms in bereaved Chinese individuals.The risk of bias of the included studies and certainty of the evidence were assessed using the Joanna Briggs Institute Critical Appraisal Checklist for Studies Reporting Prevalence Data(‘JBI checklist’)and the Grading of Recommendations,Assessment,Development and Evaluations(GRADE),respectively.The‘metaprop’package in R V.4.1.2 was used to synthesise the prevalence.Results A total of 28 studies involving 10994 bereaved individuals were included in the analysis,with JBI checklist scores between 3 and 7.The combined prevalence(95%confidence interval)of PGD and its symptoms was 8.9%(4.2%to 17.6%)and 32.4%(18.2%to 50.8%),respectively.PGD and its symptoms were most prevalent among those who had lost their only child(22.7%)and those bereaved by earthquakes(80.4%),respectively.The GRADE system assigned a very low certainty level to the evidence for the pooled prevalence of PGD and its symptoms.Conclusions The pooled prevalence of PGD and its symptoms indicate a potential high need for grief counselling services among bereaved individuals in China.This need is particularly pronounced in those who have lost their only child and those bereaved due to earthquakes.Further methodologically rigorous studies are needed to provide more accurate prevalence estimates.PROSPERO registration number CRD42023432553.

We report on using synthetic silicon for a high-precision X-ray polarimeter comprising a polarizer and an analyzer,each based on a monolithic channel-cut crystal used at multiple Brewster reflections with a Bragg angle very close to 45°.Experiments were performed at the BL09B bending magnet beamline of the Shanghai Synchrotron Radiation Facility using a Si(800)crystal at an X-ray energy of 12.914 keV.A polarization purity of 8.4×10^(-9)was measured.This result is encouraging,as the measured polarization purity is the best-reported value for the bending magnet source.Notably,this is the firstly systematic study on the hard X-ray polarimeter in China,which is crucial for exploring new physics,such as verifying vacuum birefringence.

The mediatory role of water quality on the association between extreme precipitation events and infectious diarrhea in the Yangtze River Basin,China

Extreme precipitation is exacerbating the burden of infectious diarrhea in the context of climate change,it is necessary to identify the critical and easy-to-intervene intermediate factors for public health strategies.Water quality may be the most important mediator,while relevant empirical evidence is limited.This study aimed to examine the role of water quality in the process of infectious diarrhea caused by extreme precipitation.Weekly infectious diarrhea cases,meteorological factors and water quality data in Yangtze River Basin in China between October 29,2007 to February 19,2017 were obtained.Two-stage statistical models were used to estimate city-specific extreme precipitation,water quality and infectious diarrhea relationships that were pooled to derive regional estimates.A causal mediation analysis was used to assess the mediation effect of water quality.In Yangtze River Basin,extreme precipitation events had a significant impact on infectious diarrhea(Incidence Rate Ratios[IRR]:1.027,95%Confidence Interval[CI]:1.013~1.041).After extreme precipitation events,the dissolved oxygen(DO)in surface water decreased(-0.123 mg/L,95%CI:-0.159 mg/L~-0.086 mg/L),while the un-ionized ammonia(NH(3)-N)increased(0.004 mg/L,95%CI:0.001 mg/L~0.006 mg/L).The combined overall effect of DO and NH(3)-N on infectious diarrhea showed that both low and high concentrations were associated with an increased risk of infectious diarrhea.The causal mediation analysis showed that the mediation proportion of the two water quality indexes(DO and NH(3)-N)is 70.54%(P<0.001).To reduce the health effects of extreme precipitation,in contrast to current population-oriented health strategies,those that take into account more direct and easy-to-intervene water quality indicators should be encouraged by future policies.

Study of the pressure transient behavior of directional wells considering the effect of non-uniform flux distribution

During the production, the fluid in the vicinity of the directional well enters the wellbore with different rates, leading to non-uniform flux distribution along the directional well. However, in all existing studies,it is oversimplified to a uniform flux distribution, which can result in inaccurate results for field applications. Therefore, this paper proposes a semi-analytical model of a directional well based on the assumption of non-uniform flux distribution. Specifically, the direction well is discretized into a carefully chosen series of linear sources, such that the complex well trajectory can be captured and the nonuniform flux distribution along the wellbore can be considered to model the three-dimensional flow behavior. By using the finite difference method, we can obtain the numerical solutions of the transient flow within the wellbore. With the aid of Green's function method, we can obtain the analytical solutions of the transient flow from the matrix to the wellbore. The complete flow behavior of a directional well is perfectly represented by coupling the above two types of transient flow. Subsequently, on the basis of the proposed model, we conduct a comprehensive analysis of the pressure transient behavior of a directional well. The computation results show that the flux variation along the direction well has a significant effect on pressure responses. In addition, the directional well in an infinite reservoir may exhibit the following flow regimes: wellbore afterflow, transition flow, inclined radial flow, elliptical flow, horizontal linear flow, and horizontal radial flow. The horizontal linear flow can be observed only if the formation thickness is much smaller than the well length. Furthermore, a dip region that appears on the pressure derivative curve indicates the three-dimensional flow behavior near the wellbore.

The composition and evolution of interfacial species play a key role during electrocatalytic process.Unveiling the structural evolution and intermediate during catalytic process by in situ characterization can shed new light on the electrocatalytic reaction mechanism and develop highly efficient catalyst.However,directly probing the interfacial species is extremely difficult for most spectroscopic techniques due to complicated interfacial environment and ultra-low surface concentration.Herein,electrochemical core-shell nanoparticle enhanced Raman spectroscopy is utilized to probe the composition and evolution processes of interfacial species on Au@Pt,Au@Co,and Au@PtCo core-shell nanoparticle surfaces.The spectral evidences of interfacial intermediates including hydroxide radical(OH*),superoxide ion(O_(2)^(−)),as well as metal oxide species are directly captured by in situ Raman spectroscopy,which are further confirmed by the both isotopic experiment and density functional theory calculation.These results provide a mechanistic guideline for the rational design of highly efficient electrocatalysts.

Cosmogenic nuclide exposure dating is one of the most intensively applied dating methods with which to study glacial geomorphology.Glacial erratics have been the major dating objective in many studies.Some research has proposed that glacial erratics may undergo rollover and re-transportation during the late exposure stage,which can affect the dating results.However,there is no direct evidence to confirm this possibility.In this study,we collected seven samples from a vertical section inside a glacial erratic in the paleo-Daocheng ice cap in the southeastern Tibetan Plateau,measuring their contents of the cosmogenic nuclides ^(10)Be and ^(26)Al.The results show that from the top to the bottom,the concentrations of 10Be were(1.21±0.05)×10^(6),(1.00±0.02)×10^(6),(0.88±0.03)×10^(6),(0.77±0.02)×10^(6),(0.75±0.03)×10^(6),(0.95±0.03)×10^(6) and(1.46±0.04)×10^(6) atoms/g.The ^(10)Be concentrations decreased from(1.21±0.05)×10^(6) atoms/g to(0.75±0.03)×10^(6) atoms/g and then increased to(1.46±0.04)×10^(6) atoms/g,which is not consistent with the theoretical prediction of a gradual decrease.This phenomenon indicates that the glacial erratic may have rolled over at least once.The lower surface of the erratic could have been on top at some time in the past.Therefore,its exposure age was greater than the exposure age that was expected,based on its current orientation.This study provides numerical evidence for an erratic rollover event.

生成式人工智能通过语言输出建构的叙事主体有不断超越现实主体的可能性,这将会挑战现实社会作为真实存在的基础,因此需要分析产生这些风险的根源。在独立存在论和平行存在论两种传统叙事主体存在观基础上,指出人工智能作为叙事主体是可能的,并表现出生成性、交织性以及在世性等超越性特征。生成式人工智能作为叙事主体的不同存在特征,也带来不同层面的社会风险。在个体层主要有认知与情感能力削减、自我身份认同困难和自我存在意义消解等风险;在组织层主要有冲击主体间关系、影响组织的公共决策和加速后真相时代到来等风险;在社会层主要有大量职业消失、劳动方式改变和社会安全风险加大等风险。面对生成式人工智能作为叙事主体所带来的风险,可以通过建立现实主体语言池、划定叙事主体语料界限和培养自我反思实践能力作为应对方案。

C-type natriuretic peptide stimulates chicken myoblast differentiation through NPRB/NPRC receptors and metabolism pathway

Skeletal muscle development is closely related with the amount of meat production and its quality in chickens. Natriuretic peptides(NPs) play an important role in myotube formation and fat oxidation of skeletal muscle in animals. The effect of C-type natriuretic peptide(CNP), an important member of the NPs, and its underlying molecular mechanisms in skeletal muscle are incompletely understood. Treatment of myoblasts with CNP led to enhanced proliferation/differentiation and significantly upregulated(P<0.05) m RNA expression of the CNP receptors natriuretic peptide receptor B(NPRB) and the clearance receptor C(NPRC). In cells exposed to CNP, 142 differentially expressed genes(84 up-regulation and 58 down-regulation)(P<0.05) were identified by RNA-sequencing compared with those in control cells. Sixteen genes were significantly enriched(P<0.05) in the metabolic pathway, and six of them(phospholipase C β4, phospholipase C β2, phosphoglycerate mutase 1, creatine kinase B, peroxiredoxin 6 and CD38) were closely related to skeletal muscle development and differentially expressed. In conclusion, CNP stimulated differentiation of myoblasts by upregulating expression of the NPRB and NPRC receptors and enriching key genes in the metabolic pathway.
