Pulsed dynamic electrolysis enhanced PEMWE hydrogen production:Revealing the effects of pulsed electric fields on protons mass transport and hydrogen bubble escape

The transition of hydrogen sourcing from carbon-intensive to water-based methodologies is underway,with renewable energy-powered proton exchange membrane water electrolysis(PEMWE)emerging as the preeminent pathway for hydrogen *** remarkable advancements in this field,confronting the sluggish electrochemical kinetics and inherent high-energy consumption arising from deteriorated mass transport within PEMWE systems remains a formidable *** impediment stems primarily from the hindered protons mass transfer and the untimely hydrogen bubbles *** address these challenges,we harness the inherent variability of electrical energy and introduce an innovative pulsed dynamic water electrolysis *** to constant voltage electrolysis(hydrogen production rate:51.6 m L h^(-1),energy consumption:5.37 kWh Nm-^(3)H_(2)),this strategy(hydrogen production rate:66 m L h^(-1),energy consumption:3.83 kWh Nm-^(3)H_(2))increases the hydrogen production rate by approximately 27%and reduces the energy consumption by about 28%.Furthermore,we demonstrate the practicality of this system by integrating it with an off-grid photovoltaic(PV)system designed for outdoor operation,successfully driving a hydrogen production current of up to 500 mA under an average voltage of approximately 2 *** combined results of in-situ characterization and finite element analysis reveal the performance enhancement mechanism:pulsed dynamic electrolysis(PDE)dramatically accelerates the enrichment of protons at the electrode/solution interface and facilitates the release of bubbles on the electrode *** such,PDE-enhanced PEMWE represents a synergistic advancement,concurrently enhancing both the hydrogen generation reaction and associated transport *** promising technology not only redefines the landscape of electrolysis-based hydrogen production but also holds immense potential for broadening its application across a diverse spectrum of electrocatalytic end

基于MGWR模型的太行山脉自然保护地空间格局评价及空间优化

太行山脉自然保护地在生态系统修复、生物多样性保护和自然遗迹保护等方面发挥了重要作用,承担了中国华北地区生态文明建设的重要功能。本研究以太行山脉300个国家级及省市级自然保护地为对象,通过莫兰指数、多距离空间聚类、核密度分析等空间分析方法研究自然保护地数量和面积的空间格局,借助多尺度地理加权回归模型(MGWR)对影响因素进行空间异质性分析,为自然保护地空间优化提供科学依据。结果表明:(1)自然保护地数量在整体上显著聚集分布(I_(全)=0.9707)。湿地公园(I_(湿)=0.7130)和风景名胜区(I_(风)=0.5031)较其他自然保护地聚集程度更强。(2)自然保护地面积在空间上形成“双核一带”聚集格局。具体表现为以保定市(涞水县、易县)为中心的北太行东北高密度核心区、以石家庄市(灵寿县)、忻州市(五台县)为中心的西太行西北高密度核心区和以邢台县-壶关县-济源市为核心串联而形成的核心地带。(3)自然保护地面积空间格局的影响因素存在显著空间异质性。植被覆盖率和路网密度的正面影响最强,而海拔和建设用地面积的负面影响最强。因此,在自然保护地规划和建设中应区别各类保护地的属性特点,在强调提升自然保护地植被覆盖率的同时,对于城市化地区的自然保护地要关注路网密度的积极影响和建设用地的抑制作用,在高海拔地区规划与设立自然保护地要注意数量和规模适度。

The performance of conventional direction of arrival(DOA)method is greatly affected by the uncertainty of wave velocity in underwater *** solve this problem,an acoustic velocity-independent method is proposed to estimate the underwater DOA using two arbitrary intersecting uniform linear arrays in this *** introducing the additional array compared to the conventional DOA methods,the proposed algorithm can make its performance independent of the acoustic velocity through the geometric relationship between those two *** simulation results demonstrate that the proposed method is more accurate and robust than other methods in an unknown sound velocity.

Effects of ethanol extracts of scorpion on hippocampal apoptosis and caspase-3 expression in lithium chloride-pilocarpine-induced status epilepticus rats

BACKGROUND： Previous studies have demonstrated that scorpion venom in the scorpion can inhibit epilepsy and apoptosis. However, it remains unclear whether ethanol extracts of scorpion （EES） exhibit similar effects. OBJECTIVE： To investigate the effects of EES on hippocampal apoptosis and caspase-3 expression, and to compare the effects on sodium valproate （positive control drug） in a rat model of status epilepticus induced by lithium chloride-pilocarpine. DESIGN, TIME AND SETTING： This randomized, controlled study was conducted at the Drug Research and Development Center, Kanghong Pharmaceuticals Group, and the Department of Pathology, Sichuan Academy of Medical Sciences ＆ Sichuan Provincial People＇s Hospital, China from May 2007 to April 2008. MATERIALS： EES were prepared by Huashen Pharmaceutical, China. Sodium valproate （Hunan Xiangzhong Pharmaceutical, China） and lithium chloride-pilocarpine （Sigma, USA） were also used in the present study. METHODS： From a total of 156 rats, six served as normal controls. The remaining rats were intraperitoneally injected with lithium chloride-pilocarpine to establish status epileptlcus models, and then assigned to five groups （n = 30, respectively）. Animals in each group were administered drugs at 15 minutes after epileptic seizure by gavage, i.e. in the normal control and model groups, rats were treated with 1 mL/0.1 kg saline. The sodium valproate group was administered 120 mg/kg/d sodium valproate. The low-, moderate-, and high-dose EES groups received treatments of 290, 580 and 1 160 mg/kg/d EES. The dispensed concentration was 1 mL/0.1 kg. Rat seizure behavior was observed. If status epilepticus did not terminated after 1 hour, the rats were intraperitoneally administered atropine （1 mg/kg） and diazepam （10 mg/kg） to terminate seizure. These rats were continuously observed for 6 hours to ensure seizure termination. Then rats were treated with the above-mentioned drugs at 8：00 am each day until sacrifice, which took place 4

Widely tunable microwave photonic filter based on self-adaptive optical carrier regeneration

In this paper, we have designed and proofed a widely tunable microwave photonic filter (MPF) on the basis of self-adaptive optical carrier regeneration method through stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) amplification. The MPF system features with a single microwave passband as the result of the processed signal sideband beating with the regenerated optical carrier. Since the Brillouin-laser optical carrier and the SBS amplification are generated from one laser source, the optical carrier regeneration process of the proposed MPF is self- adaptive and carrier-frequency independent. Moreover, by simply varying the wavelength spacing between the optical carrier and the optical filter, the central passband of the MPF can be continuously tuned from 6 to 32 GHz, which is limited by the bandwidth of the modulator and the photodetector. The 3 dB bandwidth and the out-of-band suppression ratio of the MPF can reach 640 MHz and 21 dB, respectively.

IGF-I induced phosphorylation of PTH receptor enhances osteoblast to osteocyte transition

Parathyroid hormone(PTH) regulates bone remodeling by activating PTH type 1 receptor(PTH1R) in osteoblasts/osteocytes. Insulinlike growth factor type 1(IGF-1) stimulates mesenchymal stem cell differentiation to osteoblasts. However, little is known about the signaling mechanisms that regulates the osteoblast-to-osteocyte transition. Here we report that PTH and IGF-I synergistically enhance osteoblast-to-osteocyte differentiation. We identified that a specific tyrosine residue, Y494, on the cytoplasmic domain of PTH1R can be phosphorylated by insulin-like growth factor type I receptor(IGF1R) in vitro. Phosphorylated PTH1R localized to the barbed ends of actin filaments and increased actin polymerization during morphological change of osteoblasts into *** of the phosphorylation site reduced actin polymerization and dendrite length. Mouse models with conditional ablation of PTH1R in osteoblasts demonstrated a reduction in the number of osteoctyes and dendrites per osteocyte, with complete overlap of PTH1R with phosphorylated-PTH1R positioning in osteocyte dendrites in wild-type mice. Thus, our findings reveal a novel signaling mechanism that enhances osteoblast-to-osteocyte transition by direct phosphorylation of PTH1R by IGF1R.

Factors controlling fetal echocardiography determine the diagnostic accuracy of isolated ventricular septal defect

Background:Fetal echocardiography (FECG) is a key screening tool for prenatal cardiac ***,we examined the ultrasonic factors determining prenatal ultrasonic diagnosis of isolated ventricular septal defect (IVSD).Methods:The diagnostic role of ultrasonic factors was investigated in patients in middle or late pregnancy,diagnosed with IVSD by FECG and confirmed using postnatal ***:One hundred and six patients with IVSD were enrolled;the majority had perimembranous *** combined imaging mode of 2 dimentionalechocardiography (2DE) and color doppler flow imaging (CDFI) showed the highest rate (56.6%) of IVSD detection,while CDFI was more efficient than 2DE (32.1% vs.11.3%).The single-view mode was more efficient than multiple-view mode (75.5% vs.24.5%).The highest efficient mode to detect IVSD was achieved using combined imaging mode on the single view of the left ventricular outflow tract view (LVOTV) (28.3%).FECG correctly classified 71.7% of fetal *** was a significant difference of accuracy rate in classifying IVSD among the three different imaging modes (x2=7.141,P0.05) or between single-view mode and multiple-view mode (x2=0.32,P>0.05).Conclusion:Single LVOTV in CDFI or CDFI combined with 2DE of FECG were the most effective diagnostic modes for fetal IVSD diagnosis.

Environmental Drivers and Spatial Prediction of the Critically Endangered Species Thuja sutchuenensis in Sichuan-Chongqing,China

Identifying the ecological environment suitable for the growth of Thuja sutchuenensis and predicting other potential distribution areas are essential to protect this endangered species. After selecting 24 environmental factors thatcould affect the distribution of T. sutchuenensis, including climate, topography, soil and Normalized DifferenceVegetation Index (NDVI), we adopted the Random Forest-MaxEnt integrated model to analyze our data. Basedon the Random Forest study, the contribution of the mean temperature of the warmest quarter, mean temperatureof the coldest quarter, annual mean temperature and mean temperature of the driest quarter was large. Based onMaxEnt model prediction outputs, the potential distribution map not only identified areas that originallyrecorded T. sutchuenensis, such as Xuanhan County, Kai County and Chengkou County, but also identified highlysuitable distribution areas where T. sutchuenensis may exist, including Wanyuan County, Sichuan Province, andthe junction of Chongqing and Hubei Province. This provides a more explicit geographic range for ex situ conservation and reintroduction of T. sutchuenensis. Our results also indicate that, in addition to climate factors,topography and soil factors are also important environmental factors that affect distribution. This provides a theoretical basis for subsequent laboratory construction to simulate the indoor growth of T. sutchuenensis.
