This paper presents a three-dimensional flow field simulation of the steady flows through diffusers and nozzles with straight or serrated-sided walls to analyze the effect of the channel structure on the flow *** pressure and velocity profiles in the diffusers and the nozzles as well as the net volumetric flow rate are *** simulation demonstrates that the pressure and velocity profiles in the serrated diffuser/nozzles are more complicated than those with the straight-sided wall,while the net steady flow rate with the straight-sided wall increases monotonically with the increase of the pressure difference,the steady flow rate with serrated sided walls increases gradually to reach a maximum and then decreases with the increase of the pressure *** results suggest that the number of the sawteeth plays a significant role in optimizing the design of serrated diffusers and nozzles for improving the transport efficiency of valveless micro-pumps.

The efficient utilization of propeller slipstream energy is important for improving the ultra-short takeoff and landing capability of Distributed Electric Propulsion(DEP)*** paper presents a quasi-three-dimensional(2.5D)high-lift wing design approach considering the three-dimensional(3D)effects of slipstream for DEP aircraft,aiming at maximizing the comprehensive lift enhancement benefit of the airframe-propulsion coupling unit.A high-precision and efficient momentum source method is adopted to simulate the slipstream effects,and the distributed propellers are replaced by a rectangular actuator disk to reduce the difficulty of grid generation and improve the grid quality.A detailed comparison of the 2.5D and 3D configurations based on the X-57 ModⅣis performed in terms of flow characteristics and computational cost to demonstrate the rationality of the above design *** optimization results of the high-lift wing of the X-57 ModⅣshow that the aerodynamic performance of the landing configuration is significantly improved,for instance,the lift coefficient increases by 0.094 at the angle of attack of 7°,and 0.097 at the angle of attack of 14°.This novel approach achieves efficient and effective design of high-lift wings under the influence of distributed slipstream,which has the potential to improve the design level of DEP aircraft.

Phosphorylation of tau at Ser(396,404)(p-tau^(396,404))is one of the earliest phosphorylation events,plasma p-tau^(396,404) level appears to be a potentially promising biomarker of Alzheimer’s disease(AD).The low abundance and easy degradation of p-tau in the plasma make the lateral flow assay(LFA)a suitable choice for point-of-care detection of plasma p-tau^(396,404) ***,based on our screening of a pair of p-tau^(396,404)-specific antibodies,we developed a colorimetric and surface-enhanced Raman scattering(SERS)dual-readout LFA for the rapid,highly sensitive,robust detection of plasma p-tau^(396,404) *** LFA realized a detection limit of 60 pg/mL by the naked eye or 3.8 pg/mL by SERS without cross-reacting with other tau *** importantly,LFA rapidly and accurately differentiated AD patients from healthy controls,suggesting that it has the potential for clinical point-of-care application in AD *** dual-readout LFA has the advantages of simple operation,rapid,ultra-sensitive detection,providing a new way for early AD diagnosis and intervention,especially in primary and community AD screening.

Career indecision is a difficult obstacle confronting adolescents. Traditional vocational assessment research measures it by means of questionnaires and diagnoses the potential sources of career indecision. Based on the diagnostic outcomes, career counselors develop treatment plans tailored to students. However, because of personal motives and the architecture of the mind, it may be difficult for students to know themselves, and the outcome of questionnaires may not fully reflect their inner states and statuses. Selfperception theory suggests that students＇ behavior could be used as a clue for inference. Thus, we proposed a data-driven framework for forecasting student career choice upon graduation based on their behavior in and around the campus, thereby playing an important role in supporting career counseling and career guidance. By evaluating on 10M behavior data of over four thousand students, we show the potential of this framework for this functionality.

High-resolution microanalysis was performed on conodonts collected from the Huanghuachang section in the Yichang area using laser ablation inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (LA-ICP-MS). This region is regarded as a standard section for the division and correlation of the Ordovician system in southern China. The results show that the values of (La/Yb)N and (La/Sm)N decrease, while the values of δCe increase as seawater deepens and energy decreases. As the sedimentary environment changes from shallow-water carbonate platform to platform margin to open continental shelf to shelf basin, rare earth element distribution curves gradually transform from a right inclined pattern to a flat pattern to a left inclined pattern and a hat-shaped pattern. The present work proves that the values and distributive patterns of rare earth elements in conodonts correspond with the sedimentary environment, and therefore provide reliable evidence for the application of rare earth element concentrations of biogenic phosphates such as conodonts for palaeoenvironmental reconstructions.

This paper focuses on the flocculability of simulated wastewater containing heavy metal ions (Fe3+, Cd2+) or phosphorus by zeolite, microbial flocculants (MBF) produced by Aspergillus niger and the composite flocculant composed of zeolite and MBF. The main results are presented as follows: zeolite was a good flocculant when the contamination of the three simulated wastewaters was low, but the treated water is of turbidness and the particles in it are hard to precipitate. The MBF have a good flocculability toward Fe3+ wastewater, as well as particulate matter. Significant changes in flocculability occurred after adding the composite flocculant in different simulated wastewa-ters, the best or least effect respective for Fe3+ and Cd2+ wastewater. The research we have done shows that the method by which the composite flocculant is used to treat the wastewater containing heavy metal ions or phosphorus provides important reference value for practical application.

Artificial intelligence on diabetic retinopathy diagnosis: an automatic classification method based on grey level co-occurrence matrix and naive Bayesian model

AIM: To develop an automatic tool on screening diabetic retinopathy(DR) from diabetic ***: We extracted textures from eye fundus images of each diabetes subject using grey level co-occurrence matrix method and trained a Bayesian model based on these textures. The receiver operating characteristic(ROC) curve was used to estimate the sensitivity and specificity of the Bayesian ***: A total of 1000 eyes fundus images from diabetic patients in which 298 eyes were diagnosed as DR by two ophthalmologists. The Bayesian model was trained using four extracted textures including contrast, entropy, angular second moment and correlation using a training dataset. The Bayesian model achieved a sensitivity of 0.949 and a specificity of 0.928 in the validation dataset. The area under the ROC curve was 0.938, and the 10-fold cross validation method showed that the average accuracy rate is 93.5%.CONCLUSION: Textures extracted by grey level cooccurrence can be useful information for DR diagnosis, and a trained Bayesian model based on these textures can be an effective tool for DR screening among diabetic patients.
