A new conjugated hyperbranched polymer （hb-TFO） containing tetraphenylethylene （TPE） units, a famous aggregation-induced emission （AIE） active group, as the core, was synthesized successfully with modest yield via one-pot Suzuki polymerization reaction. Thanks to the introduction of TPE moieties, hb-TFO exhibited aggregation-enhanced emission （AEE） property, and could work as explosive chemosensor with high sensitivity. The polymeric light-emitting diode （PLED） device was fabricated to investigate its electroluminescent property, and hb-TFO demonstrated a maximum luminance efficiency of 0.22 cd/A and a maximum brightness of 545 cd/m2 at 15.9 V.

AIM: To investigate the association between interleukin (IL)-10-1082 (g/A) promoter polymorphism and acute rejection (AR) in liver transplant (LT) recipients. METHODS: Two investigators independently searched the Medline, Embase, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, and Chinese Biomedicine Databases. Summary odds ratios (ORs) and 95% CIs for IL-10-1082 g/A polymorphism and AR were calculated in a fixed and a random-effects model as appropriate. RESULTS: This meta-analysis included seven casecontrol studies, which comprised 652 cases of LT recipients in which 241 cases developed AR and 411 cases did not develop AR. Overall, the variant A allele was not associated with AR risk when compared with the wild-type g allele (OR = 0.94, 95% CI: 0.64-1.39). Moreover, similar results were observed when the AA genotype was compared with the Ag/gg genotype (OR = 1.05, 95% CI: 0.55-2.02). When stratifying for eth-nicity, no significant association was observed among either Caucasians or Asians. Because only one study was performed in Asian patients, the result of subgroup analysis by ethnicity would not be reliable for Asians. Limiting the analysis to the studies with controls in the Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium, the results were persistent and robust. No publication bias was found in the present study. CONCLUSION: This meta-analysis suggests that IL-10-1082 g/A polymorphism may be not associated with AR risk in LT recipients among Caucasians.

Effects of Al on microstructural stability and related stress-rupture properties of a third-generation single crystal superalloy

To examine the influences of minor modification of Al content on the microstructural stabilities and stress rupture properties,two alloys with minor difference in Al content were exposed isothermally at 1100℃for 100 h,500 h,and 1000 h,*** microstructures were characterized before and after thermal *** was found that when Al content was decreased by 0.4 wt%,the volume fractionγ'decreased by 4%,the size ofγ'increased by 40 nm,the matrix channel width increased by 5 nm,and the misfit degree ofγ/γ'phases increased by 0.006%after heat treatment(HT).During thermal exposure,the alloy with low Al content had a better resistance to coarsening ofγ'phase and precipitation ofμ***γ'particles of the alloy with high AI content tended to connect each other and coarsened alongdirections;however,theγ'particles of the alloy with low Al content remained cubic after 500 h.A serious coarsening behavior took place in the two alloys after aging for 1000 *** structural stabilities were significantly ***,the change of 0.4 wt%Al content was found to have little effect on the high temperature stress-rupture properties.

Four ferrocenyl long -chain alkyl β-diketonato zinc(Ⅱ) complexes with a general formulaZnL2 (L = C5H5FeC5an COCH COCnH2n+1.n= 6 - 9) were synthesized. These complexes were characterizedby elementary analysis, IR 1HNMR MS. polarizing microscopy with a heating stage and DSC. It wasfound that the complexes have thermotropic liquid crystalline properties. The type of the heteronuclearliquid crystalline metal complexes have not been reported so far.

Forster resonance energy transfer （FRET） techniques have been widely used in biological studies in vitro andin vivo and are powerful tools for elucidating protein interactions in many regulatory cascades. FRET occurs between oscillating dipoles of two fluorophores with overlapping emission and excitation wavelengths and is dependent on the spectroscopic and geometric properties of the donor-acceptor pair. Various efforts have been made to develop quantitative FRET methods to accurately determine the interaction affinity and kinetics parameters. SUMOylation is an important post-translational protein modification with key roles in multiple biological processes. Conjugating SUMO to substrates requires an enzymatic cascade. Sentrin/SUMO-specific proteases （SENP） act as endopeptidases to process the pre-SUMO or an isopeptidase to deconjugate SUMO from its substrate. Here we also summarize recent developments of theoretical and experimental procedures for determining the protein interaction dissociation constant, Kd, and protease kinetics parameters, kcat and Kin, in the SUMOylation pathway. The general principles of these quantitative FRET-based measurements can be applied to other protein interactions and proteases.

Protective Effect of Magnesium Isoglycyrrhizinate on Ethanol-Induced Testicular Injuries in Mice

Objective： Ethanol treatment induces an increase in oxidative stress. As licorice compounds are potent antioxidants, our aim was to examine whether magnesium isoglycyrrhizinate attenuated lipid peroxidation, the major end-point of oxidative damage resulting from ethanol administration. Methods： Four groups（18 animals in each group） of male Kunming mice were used. The first group served as control and received 0.4 ml normal saline daily for 18 days orally. The second group of mice was given 56% ethanol at 16 ml/kg body weight per day for 18 days orally. The third group was given the same dose of ethanol and administrated magnesium isoglycyrrhizinate （15 mg/kg.d, i.p.） for 18 days. The fourth group was given the same dose of ethanol and administrated with magnesium isoglycyrrhizinate （45 mg/kg.d, i.p.） for 18 days. Twenty four hours after 9 days or 18 days of treatment the mice were sacrificed using 10% chloral hydrate. Sperm counts and motility in the epididymis were assessed. The lipid peroxidation and antioxidants of testicular mitochondria were also determined. The pathological changes of testicle tissue of the mice were observed by light microscopy. Results： Magnesium isoglycyrrhizinate effectively prevented the ethanol-induced seminiferous epithelium disorganization and degeneration of Sertoli cells and germ cells. Sperm counts and motility of the magnesium isoglycyrrhizinate treated groups were higher than those of the alcohol treated group, but were lower than those of the control group. The drug exhibited an ability to counteract ethanol induced oxidative challenge as it effectively reduced testicular malondialdehyde （MDA） and increased the activities of superoxide dismutase and glutathione peroxidase. Conclusion： Magnesium isoglycyrrhizinate is able to inhibit the ethanol-induced lipid peroxidation and has a protective effect against testicular oxidative injury.

Pt complexes with high molecular weight polyvinylmethyldimethylsiloxane （HMPVMS） ligands supported on diatomite as a catalyst for the hydrosilylation of 3, 3, 3-trifluoropropene and methyldichlorosilane. Results show that this catalyst displays good thermal stability, high activity and excellent recyclability, and it can be readily fabricated by a simple process.

Perovskite structure La_（0.75）Sr_（0.25）Cr_（0.5）Mn_（0.5）O_（3-δ）（LSCM） cathode with unique structure can electrolyze CO_2 to CO in solid oxide electrolysers（SOEs）.However,the cell performance is restricted by its electro-catalysis *** this work,fluorite structure nanoparticles（CeO_（2-δ）） are impregnated on LSCM cathode to improve the electro-catalysis activity.X-ray diffraction（XRD）,scanning electron microscope（SEM） and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy（XPS） together approve that the fluorite structure nanoparticles are uniformly distributed on the perovskite structure LSCM *** measurements illustrate that direct CO_2 electrolysis with 10%mol CeO_（2-δ） impregnated LSCM cathode exhibits excellent performance for current density（0.5 A×cm^（-2）） and current efficiency（～95%） at 800 ℃ under 1.6 *** is believed that the enhanced performance of directed CO_2 electrolysis may be due to the synergetic effect of fluorite structure CeO_（2-δ） nanoparticles and perovskite structure LSCM ceramic electrode.

Optimization and evaluation of fish oil rnicrocapsules

Fish oil microcapsules were prepared using two natural polysaccharides, alginate and chitosan, as the wall materials. A response surface methodology （RSM） was used to optimize the conditions for fish oil encapsulation efficiency （FOEE）. The FOEE was investigated with respect to three key-variables in the RSM： ratio of inner oil phase to aqueous phase （X1 w/w）; concentration of the aqueous phase （X2, wt%）; and ratio of the aqueous phase to outer oil phase （X3, v/v）. The optimal formulation obtained from the RSM model, i.e., 2.7：1 （X1）, 1.6 wt% （X2）, and 11.5：1 （X3）, gave a FOEE of 28%. The model was validated and the fish oil microcapsules prepared under the optimized conditions were characterized in terms of particle size, polydispersity index （PDI）, zeta potential, surface morphology, and in vitro release. The average droplet size, PDI, and zeta potential were 915 nm, 0.038, and ＋5.2 mV, respectively. The fish oil microcapsules were highly uniform microspheres, and had an accumulative release rate of 77.7% in 270 min in a gastrointestinal model, indicating their potential as an alternative carrier for the controlled release of fish oil. In conclusion, formulating optimal microencapsulation conditions by the RSM can be applied to the microencapsulation of various oil-soluble nutrients for food applications.
