To compare the efficacy of various irrigants(citric acid, ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid(EDTA) and Na OCl) and techniques in removing Ca(OH)2in two types of curved root canal systems, simulated root canals with specific curvatures were used to investigate the effects of different irrigants and instruments on Ca(OH)2removal. The optimal methods were verified on extracted human teeth. Simulated root canals were assigned to one of two groups based on the irrigation solution: 10% citric acid or2.5% Na OCl. Each group was divided into four subgroups according to the technique used to remove Ca(OH)2. The percentage of Ca(OH)2removal in different sections of root canals was calculated. On the basis of the results obtained for the simulated canals, 10% citric acid and 17% EDTA were applied to remove Ca(OH)2from the extracted human teeth with curved root canal systems. The teeth were scanned by micro computed tomography to calculate the percentage of Ca(OH)2removal in the *** simulated root canals, we found that 10% citric acid removed more Ca(OH)2than 2.5% NaOCl in the 0–1 mm group from the apex level(Po0.05). Ultrasonic and Endo Activator activation significantly removed more Ca(OH)2than a size 30 K file in the apical third(Po0.05). However, there were no significant differences in any sections of the canals for 10% citric acid or 17%EDTA in removing Ca(OH)2in extracted human teeth. We concluded that it was effective to remove residual Ca(OH)2using the decalcifying solution with Endo Activator or Passive Ultrasonic Irrigation in a curved root canal system. A protocol for Ca(OH)2removal was provided based on the conclusions of this study and the methods recommended in previous studies.

To study the immune effect of CpGDNA on somatostatin （SS） DNA vaccine, the 20-day-old experimental mice were immunized with 20 lag SS eukaryotic expression plasmid pES/2SS with different adjuvants in equal dose, such as the synthetic CpG-ODN, the pE-CpG plasmid, E. coli DNA and the crude liposome. A booster was given two weeks later. The results showed that the body weight gain of female mice in the SS immunized group was higher than that of the control （P 〈0.05）. The levels of antibodies against SS, IgG2a/IgG1, spleen lymphocyte proliferation activity and the concentrations of GH and IGF-Ⅰ in the DNA vaccine groups combined with CpGDNA were significantly increased compared to that of the group immunized with DNA vaccine alone. All these suggested the recombinant SS expression plasmid can stimulate animals to produce antibodies against SS, and CpGDNA adjuvant can enhance the immune effect of DNA vaccine against SS and influence the concentration of GH and IGF-Ⅰ .

β-cryptoxanthin （CRY）, a major carotenoid of potential interest for health, is obtained naturally from orange vegetables and fruits. A few research studies have reported that CRY could decrease oxidative stress and germ cell apoptosis. The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of CRY on acute cadmium chloride （CdCl2）-induced oxidative damage in rat testes. For this study, 24 rats were divided into four groups, one of which serves as a control group that received intraperitoneal （i.p.） injections of corn oil and physiological saline. The other rats were i.p. injected with CRY （10 μg kg^-1） every 8 h, beginning 8 h before CdCI2 （2.0 mg kg^-1） treatment. The pathological and TUNEL findings revealed that CRY ameliorated the Cd-induced testicular histological changes and germ cell apoptosis in the rats, Furthermore, the Cd-induced decrease in the testicular testosterone （T） level was attenuated after CRY administration （P 〈 0.05）. The administration of CRY significantly reversed the Cd-induced increases in the lipid peroxide （LPO） and malondialdehyde （MDA） levels （P 〈 0.01）. The testicular antioxidants superoxide dismutase （SOD）, catalase （CAT） and glutathione （GSH） were decreased by treatment with Cd alone but were restored by CRY co-treatment. These results demonstrated that the application of CRY can enhance the tolerance of rats to Cd-induced oxidative damage and suggest that it has promised as a pharmacological agent to protect against Cd-induced testicular toxicity.

Relationship Between Hyperspectral Parameters and Physiological and Biochemical Indexes of Flue-Cured Tobacco Leaves

The experiment was set up for examining the physiological and biological indexes quickly and exactly, for obtaining information of tobacco-field fertilizing and tobacco growing. The ASD Field spec FR 2500 was used to measure spectra reflectance of flue-cured tobacco and the relationship between hyperspectral parameters and biochemical contents （total nitrogen, chlorophyll, carotenoid）, and physiological indexes （fresh weight, dry weight, moisture content） of flue-cured tobacco leaves was studied by correlation and stepwise regression statistic methods at different nitrogen and potassium levels. The results indicated that the spectra curves of different treatments had obvious rules and great diversities. There were high correlations between different types of spectra parameters and ten physiological and biochemical indexes of flue-cured tobacco leaves. Hyperspectral characteristic variables of ten physiological and biochemical indexes were found through stepwise regression, and SDr/SDb was the characteristic variable closest to seven biochemical contents. Simultaneously, the R2 and regression coefficient of equations reached 0.05 significant level and the equations had good estimating effects through the examination of other samples. Accordingly, this study suggested that the ten physiological and biochemical indexes could be estimated quickly by the estimating models, at the same time nitrogen-potassium fertilization and growth condition of flue-cured tobacco could be inspected.

This study uses event-triggered(ET) and reinforcement learning methods to investigate the optimal consensus control problem for cooperative-competitive multiagent systems. It proposes a novel distributed ET control strategy, which relies on a prioritized experience replay(PER) policy. This strategy not only conserves communication resources but also ensures acceptable system performance. To implement the proposed method, actor-critic(AC) dual-structured neural networks(NNs) are used to approximate the value function and control policy. In the AC NNs, the weight estimates for the NNs are updated at the moment of event triggering, resulting in a nonperiodic weight adjustment pattern. This approach decreases the computational cost in comparison with the traditional ET mechanism. The PER-based ET mechanism makes full use of valid historical data and effectively establishes a balance between system performance and communication resource ***, it does not require the following two conditions in most existing studies:(1) requirement of the system dynamics model to be known, and(2) persistent excitation. In addition, Zeno behavior is excluded from this study. Finally, a simulation is conducted to confirm the validity of the suggested approach.

One new mixed-valence heptanuclear manganese complex, [Mn^ⅡMn^Ⅲ6O2L6-(NaCH3COO)2(CH3COO)4](1)(L = 3-ethoxy-6-((2-hydroxyethyl)imino)methyl) phenol, was synthesized by treating the Schiff-base ligand with Mn(acac)3·4H2O and characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectra, thermogravimetric analyses and X-ray single-crystal diffraction. 1 has a similar new mixed-valence heptanuclear structure. The magnetic measurements indicate that 1 exhibits the antiferromagnetic interactions.
