Geological characteristics of unconventional tight oil reservoir (10^(9) t): A case study of Upper Cretaceous Qingshankou Formation, northern Songliao Basin, NE China

The Daqing exploration area in the northern Songliao Basin has great potential for unconventional oil and gas resources,among which the total resources of tight oil alone exceed 109 t and is regarded as an important resource base of Daqing oilfield.After years of exploration in the Qijia area,Songliao Basin,NE China,tight oil has been found in the Upper Cretaceous Qingshankou Formation.To work out tight oil’s geological characteristics,taking tight oil in Gaotaizi oil layers of the Upper Cretaceous Qingshankou Formation in northern Songliao Basin as an example,this paper systematically analyzed the geological characteristics of unconventional tight oil in Gao3 and Gao4 layers of the Qijia area,based on the data of the geological survey,well drilling journey,well logging,and test.It is that three sets of hydrocarbon source rocks(K2qn1,K2qn2+3,and K2n1)develop in the examined area,and exhibit excellent type I and II kerogens,high organic matter abundance,and moderate maturity.The reservoir is generally composed of thin-bedded mudstone,siltstone,and sandstone,and presents poor porosity(average 8.5 vol.%)and air permeability(average 4 mD).The main reservoir space primarily includes intergranular pores,secondary soluble pores,and intergranular soluble pores.Three types of orifice throats were identified,namely fine throat,extra-fine throat,and micro-fine throat.The siltstone is generally oil-bearing,the reservoirs with slime and calcium become worse oil-bearing,and the mudstone has no obvious oil-bearing characteristics.The brittleness indices of the sandstone in the tight oil reservoir range from 40%to 60%,and those of the mudstone range from 40%to 45%,indicating a better brittleness of the tight oil reservoir.Based on the study of typical core hole data,this paper gives a comprehensive evaluation of the properties of the tight oil and establishes a tight oil single well composite bar chart as well as the initial evaluation system with the core of properties in the tight oil reservoir.This study has theoretical guidi

Impact of next-generation sequencing on antimicrobial treatment in immunocompromised adults with suspected infections

BACKGROUND:Prompt pathogen identification can have a substantial impact on the optimization of antimicrobial treatment.The objective of the study was to assess the diagnostic value of next-generation sequencing(NGS)for identifying pathogen and its clinical impact on antimicrobial intervention in immunocompromised patients with suspected infections.METHODS:This was a retrospective study.Between January and August 2020,47 adult immunocompromised patients underwent NGS testing under the following clinical conditions:1)prolonged fever and negative conventional cultures;2)new-onset fever despite empiric antimicrobial treatment;and 3)afebrile with suspected infections on imaging.Clinical data,including conventional microbial test results and antimicrobial treatment before and after NGS,were collected.Data were analyzed according to documented changes in antimicrobial treatment(escalated,no change,or deescalated)after the NGS results.RESULTS:The median time from hospitalization to NGS sampling was 19 d.Clinically relevant pathogens were detected via NGS in 61.7% of patients(29/47),more than half of whom suffered from fungemia(n=17),resulting in an antimicrobial escalation in 53.2% of patients(25/47)and antimicrobial de-escalation in 0.2% of patients(1/47).Antimicrobial changes were mostly due to the identification of fastidious organisms such as Legionella,Pneumocystis jirovecii,and Candida.In the remaining three cases,NGS detected clinically relevant pathogens also detected by conventional cultures a few days later.The antimicrobial treatment was subsequently adjusted according to the susceptibility test results.Overall,NGS changed antimicrobial management in 55.3%(26/47)of patients,and conventional culture detected clinically relevant pathogens in 14.9% of the patients(7/47).CONCLUSION:With its rapid identification and high sensitivity,NGS could be a promising tool for identifying relevant pathogens and enabling rapid appropriate treatment in immunocompromised patients with suspected infections.

Exosome-encapsulated lncRNA HOTAIRM1 contributes to PM_(2.5)-aggravated COPD airway remodeling by enhancing myofibroblast differentiation

Emphysema,myofibroblast accumulation and airway remodeling can occur in the lungs due to exposure to atmospheric pollution,especially fine particulate matter(PM_(2.5)),leading to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD).Specifically,bronchial epithelium-fibroblast communication participates in airway remodeling,which results in COPD.An increasing number of studies are now being conducted on the role of exosome-mediated cell-cell communication in disease pathogenesis.Here,we investigated whether exosomes generated from bronchial epithelial cells could deliver information to normal stromal fibroblasts and provoke cellular responses,resulting in airway obstruction in COPD.We studied the mechanism of exosome-mediated intercellular communication between human bronchial epithelial(HBE) cells and primary lung fibroblasts(pLFs).We found that PM_(2.5)-induced HBE-derived exosomes promoted myofibroblast differentiation in pLFs.Then,the exosomal lncRNA expression profiles derived from PM_(2.5)-treated HBE cells and nontreated HBE cells were investigated using an Agilent Human LncRNA Array.Combining coculture assays and direct exosome treatment,we found that HBE cell-derived exosomal HOTAIRM1 facilitated the myofibroblast differentiation of pLFs.Surprisingly,we discovered that exosomal HOTAIRM1 enhanced p LF proliferation to secrete excessive collagen secretion,leading to airway obstruction by stimulating the TGF-β/SMAD3 signaling pathway.Significantly,PM_(2.5)reduced FEV1/FVC and FEV1 and increased the level of serum exosomal HOTAIRM1 in healthy people;moreover,serum exosomal HOTAIRM1 was associated with PM_(2.5)-related reductions in FEV1/FVC and FVC.These findings show that PM_(2.5)triggers alterations in exosome components and clarify that one of the paracrine mediators of myofibroblast differentiation is bronchial epithelial cell-derived HOTAIRM1,which has the potential to be an effective prevention and therapeutic target for PM_(2.5)-induced COPD.

Effect of Al_(2)O_(3)fiber on twin intersections-induced dynamic recrystallization in fine-grained TiAl matrix composite

Dynamic recrystallization(DRX)is of great significance for the thermomechanical processing and microstructural regulation of TiAl intermetallics.However,the underlying DRX mechanism remains poorly understood.In this study,an Avrami kinetics model for DRX was established,which was capable of predicting the DRX fraction accurately.In addition,the effect of Al_(2)O_(3)short fiber on the DRX mechanisms of TiAl matrix composite during the isothermal compression was investigated for the first time.The re-sults showed that other than inhibiting DRX by particles in the TiAl matrix composites,the addition of Al_(2)O_(3)short fiber accelerated a novel DRX process,which was induced by twinning and twin intersec-tions(TDRX).Thus,this composite exhibited a higher DRX rate than that of the as-cast TiAl monolithic alloy.The origin of the twin intersection and TDRX for the composite was revealed.The stress concentration near the Al_(2)O_(3)fiber was above the critical shear stress for twinning and thus was favorable for the formation of twinning and twin intersections.The high stored strain energy at the regions of twins and twin intersections provided the driving force for TDRX.TDRX accelerated the grain refinement in the TiAl matrix near the Al_(2)O_(3)fiber.The present findings would provide a new perspective on DRX mechanisms,and provide the scientific guidance for optimizing the microstructures of TiAl matrix composites.

Minimally invasive surgery is a kind of surgical operation,which is performed by using professional surgical instruments and equipment to inactivate,resect,repair or reconstruct the pathological changes,deformities and wounds in human body through micro-trauma or micro-approach,in order to achieve the goal of treatment,its surgical effect is equivalent to the traditional open surgery,while avoiding the morbidity of conventional surgical wounds.In addition,it also has the advantages of less trauma,less blood loss during operation,less psychological burden and quick recovery on patients,and these minimally invasive techniques provide unique value for the examination and treatment of gastric cancer patients.Surgical minimally invasive surgical techniques have developed rapidly and offer numerous options for the treatment of early gastric cancer(EGC):endoscopic mucosal resection(EMR),underwater EMR(UEMR),endoscopic submucosal dissection(ESD),endoscopic full-thickness resection(EFTR),endoscopic submu-cosal excavation(ESE),submucosal tunnel endoscopic resection,laparoscopic and endoscopic cooperative surgery(LECS);Among them,EMR,EFTR and LECS technologies have a wide range of applications and different modific-ations have been derived from their respective surgical operations,such as band-assisted EMR(BA-EMR),conven-tional EMR(CEMR),over-the-scope clip-assisted EFTR,no-touch EFTR,the inverted LECS,closed LECS,and so on.These new and improved minimally invasive surgeries are more precise,specific and effective in treating different types of EGC.

Injection of a Self-propelled Polymer into a Small Circular Cavity

The injection of a polymer chain into a small circular cavity under tangential self-propelled force is studied by using Langevin dynamics simulation.Results indicate that the injection dynamics of the active polymer shows strong correlation with the polymer conformation inside the cavity depending on the polymer rigidity(k_(b)).The injection timeτvaries nonmonotonously with increasing k_(b),and reaches its minimum at k_(b)^(*).When k_(b) is small(k_(b)≪k_(b)^(*)),the polymer is nearly random coil in the cavity,and spends a long time at the final stage of the injection process due to the large repulsion between monomers inside the cavity.When k_(b) is moderate(k_(b)∼k_(b)^(*)),the part of polymer inside the cavity forms spiral configuration under the tangential active force,and the whole polymer moves synchronously with a constant velocity during the injection process,leading to a small injection time.When k_(b) is large(k_(b)≫k_(b)^(*)),the polymer is nearly straight at the initial stage of the injection process,and takes a long time to bend itself,leading to a large injection time.

With plenty of popular and effective ternary organic solar cells(OSCs)construction strategies proposed and applied,its power conversion efficiencies(PCEs)have come to a new level of over 19%in single-junction devices.However,previous studies are heavily based in chloroform(CF)leaving behind substantial knowledge deficiencies in understanding the influence of solvent choice when introducing a third component.Herein,we present a case where a newly designed asymmetric small molecular acceptor using fluoro-methoxylated end-group modification strategy,named BTP-BO-3FO with enlarged bandgap,brings different morphological evolution and performance improvement effect on host system PM6:BTP-eC9,processed by CF and ortho-xylene(o-XY).With detailed analyses supported by a series of experiments,the best PCE of 19.24%for green solvent-processed OSCs is found to be a fruit of finely tuned crystalline ordering and general aggregation motif,which furthermore nourishes a favorable charge generation and recombination behavior.likewise,over 19%PCE can be achieved by replacing spin-coating with blade coating for active layer deposition.This work focuses on understanding the commonly met yet frequently ignored issues when building ternary blends to demonstrate cutting-edge device performance,hence,will be instructive to other ternary OSC works in the future.

Ketogenic diet therapy in children with epilepsy caused by SLC2A1 mutations:a single-center single-arm retrospective study

Background This retrospective study assessed the efficacy and safety of ketogenic diet therapies in children with epilepsy caused by SLC2A1 genetic mutations and glucose transporter type 1 deficiency syndrome.Methods Pediatric patients with epilepsy symptoms admitted to our medical center between January 2017 and October 2021 were included if they presented with an SLC2A1 genetic mutation on whole-exome sequencing.We analyzed the patients’convulsions and treatment with antiepileptic drugs.The patients were followed up at different time periods after ketogenic diet therapies.Results Six patients with SLC2A1 mutations were included in this study.The patients had seizures of different types and frequencies,and they took antiepileptic drugs to relieve their symptoms.They were then treated with a ketogenic diet for at least four months.We analyzed epilepsy control rates at 1,2,3,6,and 12 months after ketogenic diet treatment.All patients were seizure-free within a month of receiving the diet therapy.All patients were followed up for six months,three were followed up for 12 months after the treatment,and there was no recurrence of epilepsy during this period.After antiepileptic drug withdrawal,none of the patients experienced seizure relapse when receiving ketogenic diet treatment alone.No severe adverse events occurred during the therapy.Conclusions Ketogenic diet therapy is very effective and safe for the treatment of epilepsy caused by SLC2A1 mutations.Therefore,patients with glucose transporter type 1 deficiency syndrome caused by SLC2A1 mutations should begin ketogenic diet treatment as soon as possible.

Multi-modal imaging for the diagnosis of spontaneous visceral artery dissection:A case report

BACKGROUND Spontaneous visceral artery dissection(SVAD)is a rare condition that affects the visceral arteries,such as the celiac,superior mesenteric,and inferior mesenteric arteries,without involving the aorta.Organ ischemia or hemorrhage from vessel rupture can occur in SVAD;therefore,prompt detection and management is essential.Contrast-enhanced computed tomography(CECT)has been used to diagnose most of the previous cases,but few studies have explored the potential of contrast-enhanced ultrasound(CEUS)for early detection of this disease.CASE SUMMARY A 53-year-old male presented with complaints of poor appetite and abnormal liver function for the past 6 months.He had previously undergone transabdominal splenectomy,esophagogastric devascularization,and cholecystectomy for gallstones and severe portal hypertension.liver ultrasound was performed in our department to assess liver status.An abnormal hepatic artery spectrum was observed,and dissection involving both the celiac artery and the common hepatic artery was observed.A CEUS was then performed and clearly showed the entry site of the intimal tear and the false lumen,and dissection was subsequently confirmed by CECT.The patient was asymptomatic;therefore,treatment to control the blood pressure was provided,and follow-up was recommended.After 6 months of follow-up,the celiac artery was found to be dilated with an adherent thrombus visible in the wall,and the common hepatic artery was occluded with the presence of collateralization.Despite these findings,no significant changes in liver function were observed.CONCLUSION Multi-modal imaging is effective in diagnosing SVAD,and conservative treatment is a choice for asymptomatic patients.

Hearing loss is one of the most common sensory disorders worldwide,affecting approximately 466 million people,including 34 million children[1].Genetic mutations accounts for approximately 60%of inherited hearing loss cases[2,3].These genetic changes result in a wide variety of clinical manifestations,ranging from nonsyndromic hearing loss(NSHL)to over 400 syndromes involving hearing loss and from mild adult-onset hearing loss to profound congenital deafness,covering the entire spectrum of Mendelian inheritance.
