Study on the effect of CH_(4) dissolution on the microstructure of wax crystal in waxy crude oil

In this work, the influence of the dissolution of methane(CH_(4)) gas on the wax crystal of waxy crude oil and the effect on the rheology of crude oil by dissolved CH_(4) were studied comprehensively. A self-deign high-pressure micro visualization device was developed to analyze wax crystals before and after gas dissolution. The crude oil from Shengli and Nanyang was tested by the device under various gas pressures. Results showed that the viscosity, maximum shear stress and equilibrium shear stress of Shengli crude oil decreased with the increasing pressure of the dissolved CH_(4). Due to the supersaturation of dissolved gas, the viscosity, maximum shear stress and equilibrium shear stress of Nanyang crude oil decreased initially and increased with the increasing pressure of dissolved CH_(4). The change in rheology of the dissolved gas crude oil can be a combined influence of gas pressure and dissolution mechanisms caused by CH_(4). Additionally, the wax precipitation point of Shengli crude oil decreased at the saturated dissolution of CH_(4), while Nanyang crude oil showed an increasing wax precipitation temperature.Notably, the wax precipitation area, number of wax particles, and average diameter of wax crystal in both crude oils gradually decreased with dissolution. However, a saturation of CH_(4) caused a small amount of precipitation of wax crystals in Nanyang crude oil, and the small wax crystals were aggregated to form the large wax crystals. The dissolution of CH_(4) gas can affect the wax crystallization process, crystallization ability, and morphology of wax crystals that resulted in significant variation in the rheology of crude oil.

Calcitriol Suppressed Isoproterenol-induced Proliferation of Cardiac Fibroblasts via Integrinβ3/FAK/Akt Pathway

Objective Cardiac fibroblasts(CFs)proliferation and extracellular matrix deposition are important features of cardiac fibrosis.Various studies have indicated that vitamin D displays an anti-fibrotic property in chronic heart diseases.This study explored the role of vitamin D in the growth of CFs via an integrin signaling pathway.Methods MTT and 5-ethynyl-2′-deoxyuridine assays were performed to determine cell viability.Western blotting was performed to detect the expression of proliferating cell nuclear antigen(PCNA)and integrin signaling pathway.The fibronectin was observed by EliSA.Immunohistochemical staining was employed to evaluate the expression of integrinβ3.Results The PCNA expression in the CFs was enhanced after isoproterenol(ISO)stimulation accompanied by an elevated expression of integrin beta-3(β3).The blockade of the integrinβ3 with a specific integrinβ3 antibody reduced the PCNA expression induced by the ISO.Decreasing the integrinβ3 by siRNA reduced the ISO-triggered phosphorylation of FAK and Akt.Both the FAK inhibitor and Akt inhibitor suppressed the PCNA expression induced by the ISO in the CFs.Calcitriol(CAL),an active form of vitamin D,attenuated the ISO-induced CFs proliferation by downregulating the integrinβ3 expression,and phosphorylation of FAK and Akt.Moreover,CAL reduced the increased levels of fibronectin and hydroxyproline in the CFs culture medium triggered by the ISO.The administration of calcitriol decreased the integrinβ3 expression in the ISO-induced myocardial injury model.Conclusion These findings revealed a novel role for CAL in suppressing the CFs growth by the downregulation of the integrinβ3/FAK/Akt pathway.

Dermatosis as the initial presentation of gastric cancer: two cases

Paraneoplastic dermatoses are known to be certain dermatosis related with tumor. The common paraneoplastic dermatoses are acanthosis nigricans, acquired ichthyosis, dermatomyositis, erythroderma, and so on. Here we report two cases of paraneoplastic dermatoses associated with gastric cancer. One case was a 57-year-old man with dermatomyositis and proved to be associated with gastric cancer through stomachoscopy. The other was a 66-year-old man with erythroderma and proved to be associated with gastric cancer through stomachoscopy. Both cases were treated with radical total gastrectomy with lymphadenectomy（D2） and esophagojejunostomy of Roux-en-Y. The skin symptom of both cases had improved a lot but still existed after operation. Paraneoplastic dermatoses can be seen as the early manifestation of visceral carcinomas. As a result, gastric cancers should be excluded in the patients with paraneoplastic dermatoses.

为了研究夏热冬冷地区低温辐射地板供暖影响因素,采用L25(56)的正交试验方法探究供水温度、管间流速、管径、管间距、填充层厚度5因素对地板表面平均温度和均匀度的影响,获得各因素对试验指标的影响趋势、显著性程度和组合的最优解。研究表明:对地板表面平均温度的影响程度为供水温度>管间距>管径>填充层厚度>管间流速,对均匀度的影响程度为管间距>供水温度>填充层厚度>管径>管间流速,最优水平组合为:供水温度取35℃,管间流速取0.4 m/s,管径取16 mm,管间距取100 mm,填充层厚度取75 mm。试验结果为夏热冬冷地区辐射供暖设计提供借鉴,亦可对数值分析软件与统计学的结合提供思路。

基于渔业资源调查数据构建了鄱阳湖禁渔前后(2018和2021年)的生态系统Ecopath模型,比较了两个时期生态系统规模、食物网及营养结构、能量流动、系统稳定性等特征的变化,以评估"十年禁渔"措施的效果。结果表明:在"十年禁渔"政策实施后,鄱阳湖生态系统规模扩大了8.07%,总生物量增加了35.7%;生态系统的能量与物质转换效率由10.7%增长到11.3%,能够恢复到1998年水平;生态系统成熟度、稳定性增强;食物网的高营养指标从28.6%增长到35.7%,食物链长度从3.63增长到3.86。综上所述,禁渔之后鄱阳湖生态系统规模扩大,各功能组间的营养交互关系变强,生态系统的物质流转速度和物质再循环的比例升高,复杂性、稳定性和成熟度增加,表明"十年禁渔"政策已取得明显成效。

Scaling laws governing the elastic properties of 3D graphenes

In this study,we comprehensively investigated the scaling law for elastic properties of three-dimensional honeycomb-like graphenes(3D graphenes)using hybrid neural network potential-based molecular dynamics simulations and theoretical analyses.The elastic constants were obtained as functions of honeycomb hole size,denoted by the graphene wall length L.All five independent elastic constants in the large-L limit are proportional to L^(-1).The associated coefficients are combinations of elastic constants of two-dimensional graphene.High-order terms including L^(-2)and L^(-3)emerge for finite L values.They have three origins,the distorted areas close to the joint lines of 3D graphenes,the variation in solid angles between graphene plates,and the bending distortion of graphene plates.Significantly,the chirality becomes essential with decreasing L because the joint line structures are different between the armchair and zigzag-type 3D graphenes.Our findings provide insights into the elastic properties of graphene-based superstructures and can be used for further studies on graphene-based materials.

This highlight is inspired by a recent article in Nature Energy in which liu and co-workers [1] from Tsinghua University designed a new asymmetric lithium salt (i.e., lithium 1,1,1-trifluoro-N-[2-[2-(2-methoxy ethoxy)ethoxy]ethyl] methanesulfonamide (li FEA)) and applied it as a new lithium-salt additive in the conventional carbonate-based electrolyte,overcoming the incompatibility issue of carbonate electrolytes with lithium metal in lithium metal batteries (LMBs),even achieving a fast-charging feature.

Male reproductive function before and after theadjustment of the COVID-19 prevention policy:amulticenter study in China

At the end of 2022,the adjustment of the coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)pandemic control policy in China resulted in alarge-scale increase in public infection.To compare the fertility parameters of male patients before and after the adjustments ofthe COVID-19 pandemic control policy in China,we collected data on patients’medical histories and laboratory examinations ontheir first visits between June 2022 and March 2023 in five different hospitals.Data were divided into five groups according tothe timeline of the policy adjustment.The data we collected from male patients included semen quality and serum reproductivehormone levels,and intergroup comparisons were made using the Mann–Whitney U and Chi-square tests.In total,16784 casesunderwent regular semen analysis,11180 had sperm morphology assessments,and 7200 had reproductive hormone analyses.Thedata showed declining trends in semen volume,sperm motility,and the progressive sperm motility rate after the policy adjustment.Subgroup comparison revealed an initial decrease and gradual recovery in progressive motility rate.Sperm morphology analysisshowed increased neck and tail abnormalities after the policy adjustment.No significant change in hormone levels was observed.Following the adjustment of the COVID-19 prevention policy in China,a decline in sperm motility and morphology was observed.This trend may gradually recover over 2 months.After the policy adjustment,reproductive hormone levels were relatively stablethroughout,except for an increase in luteinizing hormone(LH).These changes in semen parameters suggest that the policyadjustment had a short-to medium-term impact on male reproductive function.

A class of Sturm-liouville problems with discontinuity is studied in this paper.The oscillation properties of eigenfunctions for Sturm-liouville problems with interface conditions are obtained.The main method used in this paper is based on Prufer transformation,which is different from the classical ones.Moreover,we give two examples to verify our main results.

Comprehensive analysis of the potential pathogenesis of COVID-19 infection and liver cancer

BACKGROUND A growing number of clinical examples suggest that coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)appears to have an impact on the treatment of patients with liver cancer compared to the normal population,and the prevalence of COVID-19 is significantly higher in patients with liver cancer.However,this mechanism of action has not been clarified.Gene sets for COVID-19(GSE180226)and liver cancer(GSE87630)were obtained from the Gene Expression Omnibus database.After identifying the common differentially expressed genes(DEGs)of COVID-19 and liver cancer,functional enrichment analysis,protein-protein interaction network construction and scree-ning and analysis of hub genes were performed.Subsequently,the validation of the differential expression of hub genes in the disease was performed and the regulatory network of transcription factors and hub genes was constructed.RESULTS Of 518 common DEGs were obtained by screening for functional analysis.Fifteen hub genes including aurora kinase B,cyclin B2,cell division cycle 20,cell division cycle associated 8,nucleolar and spindle associated protein 1,etc.,were further identified from DEGs using the“cytoHubba”plugin.Functional enrichment analysis of hub genes showed that these hub genes are associated with P53 signalling pathway regulation,cell cycle and other functions,and they may serve as potential molecular markers for COVID-19 and liver cancer.Finally,we selected 10 of the hub genes for in vitro expression validation in liver cancer cells.CONCLUSION Our study reveals a common pathogenesis of liver cancer and COVID-19.These common pathways and key genes may provide new ideas for further mechanistic studies.
