Stacking fault,dislocation dissociation,and twinning in Pt_(3) Hf compounds:a DFT study

The Pt3Hf compound plays a decisive role in strengthening Pt-Hf alloy *** the stacking fault,dislocation dissociation,and twinning mechanisms in Pt3Hf is the first step in understanding its plastic *** this work,the generalized stacking fault energies(GSFE),including the complex stacking fault(CSF),the superlattice intrinsic stacking fault(SISF),and the antiphase boundary(APB) energies,are calculated using firstprinciples *** dislocation dissociation,deformation twinning,and yield behavior of Pt3Hf are discussed based on GSFE after their incorporation into the Peierls-Nabarro *** found that the unstable stacking fault energy(γus) of(111)APB is lower than that of SISF and(010) APB,implying that the energy barrier and critical stress required for(111)APB generation are lower than those required for(010)APB *** result indicates that the a superdislocation will dissociate into two collinear a/2 superpartial *** a/2 dislocation could further dissociate into a a/6 Shockley dislocation and a a/3 superShockley dislocation connected by a SISF,which results in an APB→SISF *** study also discovered that Pt3 Hf exhibits normal yield behavior,although the cross-slip of a a/2 dislocation is not forbidden,and the anomalous yield criterion is ***,it is observed that the energy barrier and critical stress for APB formation increases with increasing pressure and decreases as the temperature is *** the temperature rises above 1400 K,the a/2 dislocation slipping may change from the {111} planes to the {100} planes.

Novel carbon-nitride based catalysts for enhanced CH_(4) reforming under visible light: From morphology to heterojunction design principles

The synthesis of high value-added chemical products using CO_(2)and CH_(4)is a promising CO_(2)conversion technology that can reduce greenhouse gas emissions while also alleviating the energy ***,problems such as high energy consumption and strict reaction conditions in reforming process hinder the further development of the *** this work,carbon-nitrogen based composites were prepared for the first time according to the design principle from morphology to heterojunction,which is innovatively applied in the process of photocatalytic ***,C_(3)N_(4)materials with different dimensions(D) are prepared and applied to a CO_(2)-CH_(4)photocatalytic ***,the 2D/2D TiO_(2)/g-C_(3)N_(4)heterostructure is constructed with the ultrasonic impregnation method to further improve charge generation,transfer,and separation *** is worth noting that the yield of CO reaches173.80 μmol g^(-1),and the catalytic performance is improved by 1546% compared to bulk C_(3)N_(4).Moreover,the physical and chemical properties of 2D/2D TiO_(2)/g-C_(3)N_(4)materials are studied using a variety of cha racterization ***,the work fu nction and adsorption energy of different C3N4/TiO_(2)models for CO_(2)adsorption are calculated by density functional theory(DFT).Then,a possible catalytic mechanism for photocatalytic CO_(2)and CH_(4) conversion is proposed based on DFT calculations and experimental *** work provides a new technical route for the rapid conversion of CO_(2)and CH_(4) at room temperature,as well as a new research concept for achieving carbon neutrality.

Nervonic acid(NA)is a very-long-chain monounsaturated fatty acid with pharmaceutical and nutraceutical functions that plays an important role in treating several neurological *** major source of NA is plant seed *** we report fatty acid profiles of seeds and germplasm diversity of six plant species,including three woody plants with high amounts of NA-enriched seed oil,Malania oleifera,Macaranga adenantha,and *** had the largest seed(average 7.40 g single seed),highest oil content(58.71%),and highest NA level(42.22%).The germplasm diversity of *** is associated with its habitat but not *** of *** contained higher NA levels(28.41%)than ***(21.77%),but *** contained a significantly higher oil content(29.22%)and seed *** germplasm varied among populations,with one population having seeds with high oil content(22.63%)and NA level(37.78%).Although *** grow naturally at a range of elevations,no significant differences were detected between *** *** results suggest that *** and *** have greater potential as a source of NA,which will contribute to constructing a germplasm resource nursery and establishing a selection and breeding program to improve the development of NA-enriched plants.

Effects of Sn addition on microstructure and mechanical properties of Mg-Zn-Al alloys

The effects of Sn addition（0, 0.5, 1.0, 2.0 and 3 wt%） on microstructure of Mg-4Zn-1.5Al alloy in cast and extruded states were investigated, and the mechanical properties of as-extruded Mg-4Zn-1.5Al-xSn studied. The experimental results showed that the as-cast Mg-4Zn-1.5Al alloy was composed of two phases α-Mg and Mg;（Al, Zn）;, while Sn-containing alloys consisted of α-Mg, Mg;（Al, Zn）;and Mg;Sn phases, and Mg;（Al, Zn）;was not detected after extruding due to that the most of them dissolved into the matrix during the homogenized treatment. The addition of Sn refined the grains of as-cast and as-extruded Mg-Zn-Al alloys obviously. It was noted that the basal texture intensity reduced with increasing Sn content significantly in as-extruded Mg-Zn-Al alloys. The tensile tests results indicated that Sn addition improve the tensile strength of the extruded alloys,while it had a harmful effect on the ductility. When the addition of Sn was 2 wt%, the ultimate tensile strength（UTS）, yield strength（YS） and elongation（ε;） of the alloy were 280 MPa, 147 MPa and 17.4%, respectively.

In response to thermal runaway(TR)of electric vehicles,recent attention has been focused on mitigation strategies such as efficient heat dredging in battery thermal *** management with particular focus on battery cooling has been becoming increasingly *** usually happened when an electric vehicle is unpowered and *** this state,traditional active battery cooling schemes are disabled,which can easily lead to dangerous incidents due to loss of cooling ability,and advanced passive cooling strategies are therefore gaining ***,we developed an enhanced thermal radiation material,consisting of~1μm thick multilayered nano-sheet graphene film coated upon the heat dissipation surface,thereby enhancing thermal radiation in the *** surface was characterized on the nanoscale,and tested in a battery-cooling *** found that the graphene-based coating's spectral emissivity is between 91% and 95% in the mid-infrared region,and thermal experiments consequently illustrated that graphene-based radiative cooling yielded up to15.1% temperature reduction when compared to the uncoated *** the novel graphene surface to augment a heat pipe,the temperature reduction can be further enlarged to 25.6%.The new material may contribute to transportation safety,global warming mitigation and carbon neutralization.

Effects of Hypoxia on the Growth and Development of the Fetal Ovine Hepatocytes in Primary Culture

Objective To investigate the development and characterizations of the hepatocytes isolated from fetal ovine and to determine the effect of hypoxia on their growth and *** Fresh hepatocytes were isolated from the liver of fetal ovine at late gestation, cultured in specific media, and exposed to normoxia(21% O2) or hypoxia(2% O2).The cellular characteristics and population purity were identified by immunocytochemistry and flow cytometry(FCM).The effects of hypoxia on cell cycle and apoptosis of the hepatocytes were evaluated by FCM, whereas the cellular ultrastructure changes were examined with a transmission electron *** The cell purity of hepatocytes was over 95%.Under hypoxia exposure, the hepatocytes showed a gradual increase in proportion at the S phase and in proliferative index, followed with a compatible increase in apoptosis and progressively decreased cell ***, the organelles of the hepatocytes demonstrated dramatic changes, including swelling of mitochondria, disorder in cristae arrangement, expansion of endoplasmic reticulum, and a large number of circular lipid droplets emerging in the *** Fetal ovine hepatocytes could be primarily cultured in a short-term culture system with a high purity of over 95% and with their preserved original *** could induce changes in ultrastructural and inhibit the proliferation of cultured fetal ovine hepatocytes through apoptotic mechanisms.

Revisiting the driving force underlying Chinese PM_(2.5)emissions:From the two perspectives of GVC and IDA

The depth and breadth of participation in the global value chain(GVC)significantly impacts a country's fine particulate contamination(PM_(2.5))***,based on the GVC accounting framework,the sources of PM_(2.5) emissions in China between 1990 and 2015 are identified and investigated considering production-side,consumption-side,and export-implied ***,index decomposition analysis(IDA)of emissions is conducted to further investigate the changes in and causes of air pollution in *** the analytical process,differences between the PM_(2.5) emissions in two time periods-one of rapid economic growth and another of the“new normal”economy-are *** results demonstrate that:China is embedded in high pollution links of GVCs;China transfers pollution to third-parties by importing intermediate products from resource-intensive countries in the global production system;extensive economic growth caused an increase in China's total PM_(2.5) emissions,but cleaner production technology can reduce the emissions *** restructuring under the“new normal”has increased China's short-term PM_(2.5) emissions *** results suggest that China should optimize and upgrade its domestic economic structure and transform its export growth mode to deliver high added value and low ***,it should prioritize cooperation between the upstream and downstream value chain and accelerate the upgrading of its consumption structure in this new era.

Effect of hydration on the elasticity of mantle minerals and its geophysical implications

Recent studies have shown that major nominally anhydrous minerals in the Earth's mantle, such as olivine, pyroxene and garnet, can incorporate considerable amounts of water as structurally bound hydroxyl. Even a small amount of water is present in mantle minerals, it can strongly affect a number of physical properties, including density, sound velocity, melting temperature, and electrical conductivities. The presence of water can also influence the dynamic behavior, lead to lateral velocity heterogeneities, and affect the material circulation of the Earth's deep interior. In particular, seismic studies have reported the existence of low-velocity zones in various locations of the Earth's upper mantle and transition zone, which has been expected to be associated with the presence of water in the region. In the past two decades, the effect of water on the elasticity and sound velocities of minerals at relevant pressure-temperature(P-T) conditions of the Earth's mantle attracted extensive interests. Combining the high P-T experimental and theoretical mineralogical results with seismic observations provides crucial constraints on the distribution of water in the Earth's mantle. In this study, we summarize recent experimental and theoretical mineral physics results on how water affects the elasticity and sound velocity of nominally anhydrous minerals in the Earth's mantle, which aims to provide new insights into the effect of hydration on the density and velocity profile of the Earth's mantle, which are of particular importance in understanding of water distribution in the region.

Electrochemical detection of human ferritin based on gold nanorod reporter probe and cotton thread immunoassay device

In this study,a natural cotton thread immunoassay device combined with gold nanorod（GNR） reporter probe is developed for the rapid,sensitive and quantitative electrochemical determination of human ferritin,a lung cancer related *** ferritin as an analyte and a pair of monoclonal antibodies are used to demonstrate the proof-of-concept on the cotton thread immunoassay *** enhancement of the sensitivity is achieved by using gold nanorod as an electroactive report probe compared with a traditional gold nanoparticle（GNP） report *** device was capable of measuring 1.58 ng/mL ferritin in 30 min by anodic stripping voltammetry（ASV） testing,which meet the requirement for clinical diagnosis.

Direct adaptive control for a class of MIMO nonlinear discrete-time systems

This paper considers the problem of adaptive con-trol for a class of multiple input multiple output （MIMO） nonlinear discrete-time systems based on input-output model with unknown interconnections between subsystems. Based on the Taylor ex-pand technology, an equivalent model in affine-like form is derived for the original nonaffine nonlinear system. Then a direct adap-tive neural network （NN） control er is implemented based on the affine-like model. By finding an orthogonal matrix to tune the NN weights, the closed-loop system is proven to be semiglobal y uni-formly ultimately bounded. The σ-modification technique is used to remove the requirement of persistence excitation during the adaptation. The control performance of the closed-loop system is guaranteed by suitably choosing the design parameters.
