The permafrost of Mohe County and its suburbs in the Daxing′an Mountains has been influenced by the *** sensing,GIS technology and numerical simulation was used to study the temperature variations of permafrost with the changes in surface vegetation that cover Mohe County and suburban areas,and the law of permafrost degradation on the study area was *** research results show that the urban area of the study area increased 114.42%from 2000 to 2016,and the urbanization process is continuing to *** Normalized Difference Vegetation Index map of 2017 in Mohe County and its suburbs was studied and the maximum proportion of vegetation coverage was different in the four *** numerical calculation model results show that the permafrost temperature change in the study area cyclically fluctuates in a cosine *** annual variation curve of permafrost temperature gradually decreased and its accompanying phase lag increased with *** annual temperature change value with the different depths of the town was greater than the natural *** maximum permafrost thawing depths of the town and natural ground were 4.2 m and 2.82 m in 50 a,and the degradation rates of the two permafrost are,respectively,0.88 cm/a and 0.46 cm/*** results show that urbanization has accelerated the degradation of permafrost.

The distribution of temperature and temperature-health association varied largely across different regions in China,a region-specific definition for heatwave was therefore *** collected the data on daily mortality,meteorological factors and air pollution in 84 Chinese cities during 2013–2016,which was divided into seven *** on the association between daily maximum temperature and mortality in each city in a threshold distributed lag non-linear model,where the threshold was defined as the temperature corresponding to the lowest mortality risk,we calculated the number of deaths that could be avoided for 1℃ decrease in maximum temperature under different thresholds,then a random-effect meta-analysis was used to generate regional results,in which the temperature with the highest avoidable mortality number for 1℃ decrease was considered as the most appropriate heatwave *** observed an immediate detrimental effect of high temperature within three lag *** analysis suggested to use 29.5℃,31.5℃,29.0℃,31.5℃,30.0℃,and 28.5℃ as the heatwave standard for east,north,northeast,central,south,and southwest region,with the avoidable mortality number of 1.54(95%Confidence interval(CI):0.88,2.19),0.55(95%CI:0.16,0.94),0.59(95%CI:0.32,0.86),1.14(95%CI:0.68,1.59),1.22(95%CI:0.54,1.90),and 0.78(95%CI:0.01,1.55),respectively,while the estimated number 0.19(95%CI:−0.02,0.40)in northwest region was not statistically *** concept of‘avoidable mortality for 1℃ decrease’was proposed to define the heatwave event,and varied maximum temperature between 28.5 and 31.5℃ was suggested for region-specific heatwave definition in China.

The Taihu Lake region in East China has become prone to soil acidification, which changes heavy metals such as copper(Cu) in soil into water-soluble species and increases the mobility and contamination risks of heavy metals in the biological environment. In this study, the kinetics of Cu2+sorption by the bulk soil and the aggregate size fractions of an acidic paddy soil collected from the Taihu Lake region, the effects of temperature on Cu2+sorption, and the p H changes of the solution were investigated by static sorption and magnetic stirring. The aggregate size fractions were prepared by low-energy ultrasonic dispersing and freeze-drying. The total sorption amounts of the bulk soil and the aggregate size fractions for Cu2+followed a descending order of clay > coarse sand > bulk soil > silt> sand, corresponding to those of organic matter content, free iron oxide content, free aluminum oxide content, and cation exchange capacity. The kinetic sorption curves of Cu2+by the bulk soil and the aggregates, which were divided into two stages(rapid and slow sequentially), were well fitted by the first-order equation, the diffusion equation, and the Elovich equation, showing significant correlations(P lightly during the non-specific sorption. When the specific sorption terminated, the p H of the solution was minimized nearly *** sorption progress of Cu2+by the bulk soil significantly preceded that by the aggregates. To investigate the effects of thyme(Thymus vulgaris L.)addition on the flavor modification of mutton broth during boiling,three mutton-broth samples with various thyme contents 0.06%(S1),0.30%(S2),and1.50%(S3)were analyzed and compared,without thyme as control(0.00%,S0).The meaty,fatty,pastoral flavor and spicy were chosen as sensory attributes to evaluate the flavor of the mutton-broth *** results were significantly different(Plity.A total of 99 volatile compounds were identified by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry,among which19 compounds were considered as the odor-active compounds according to their odor activity *** changes(P<0.05)appeared in most volatiles in S0 with thyme addition,especially *** fatty acids(FFAs)were also identified,and all of them significantly increased with increased thyme(P<0.05).Correlation analysis of odor-active compounds,FFAs,and sensory attributes through partial least squares regression indicated the important volatiles and FFAs remarkably contributed to the mutton broth samples,and further confirmed that the 0.30%of thyme may be a desirable addition amount for the sensory characteristics of mutton broth.

Dear Editor,Infectious bursal disease virus （IBDV） causes an economically significant disease of chickens worldwide （Berg,2000）. The molecular basis for the virulence of very virulent IBDV （vvIBDV） is not fully understood. Previous studies have shown that genome segment A, especically VP2 protein, plays the most important role in the tropism and pathogenicity of serotype 1 IBDV （Brandt et al., 2001）. VP2 is,however, unlikely to be the only factor for the virulence of vvIBDV （Boot et al., 2000）.

High energy density lithium-ion batteries using Ni-rich cathode(such as liNi0.6Co0.2Mn0.2O2) suffer from severe capacity decay.P-toluenesulfonyl fluoride(pTSF) has been investigated as a novel film-forming electrolyte additive to enhance the cycling performances of graphite/liNi0.6Co0.2Mn0.2O2 pouch *** comparison with the baseline electrolyte,a small dose of pTSF can significantly improve the cyclic stability of the *** calculations together with experimental results indicate that pTSF would be oxidized and reduced to construct protective interphase film on the surfaces of liNi0.6Co0.2Mn0.2O2 cathode and graphite anode,*** S-containing surface films derived from pTSF effectively mitigate the decomposition of electrolyte,reduce the interphasial impedance,as well as prevent the dissolution of transition metal ions from Ni-rich cathode upon cycling at high *** finding is beneficial for the practical application of high energy density graphite/liNi0.6Co0.2Mn0.2O2 cells.

Researches show that multilayer optical thin film stack can exhibit superprism effect due to their large abnormal dispersions. We investigated and simulated this effect numerically in a 1-D non-periodic film structure-Fabry-Perot filters (FPF), which possess drastic change in phase and large group delay around wavelength of peak transmittance, and fabricated this device to realize remarkable superprism effect. We tested experimentally with the maximum spatial separation shift up to 65 μm, and the experimental result is in good agreement with the theory. Compared with the traditional prism, the total thickness of our structure is only 3.3 μm, and our prism shows a stronger angular resolution of 1.8°/nm.

Performance of transient elastography in assessing liver fibrosis in patients with autoimmune hepatitis-primary biliary cholangitis overlap syndrome

AIM To investigate the performance of transient elastography(TE) for diagnosis of fibrosis in patients with autoimmune hepatitis-primary biliary cholangitis(AIHPBC) overlap *** A total of 70 patients with biopsy-proven AIH-PBC overlap syndrome were included. Spearman correlation test was used to analyze the correlation of liver stiffness measurement(LSM) and fibrosis stage. Independent samples Student's t-test or one-way analysis of variance was used to compare quantitative variables. Receiver operating characteristics(ROC) curve was used to calculate the optimal cut-off values of LSM for predicting individual fibrosis stages. A comparison on the diagnostic accuracy for severe fibrosis was made between LSM and other serological *** Patients with AIH-PBC overlap syndrome had higher median LSM than healthy controls(11.3 ± 6.4 k Pa vs 4.3 ± 1.4 k Pa, P < 0.01). LSM was significantly correlated with fibrosis stage(r = 0.756, P < 0.01). LSM values increased gradually with an increased fibrosis stage. The areas under the ROC curves of LSM for stages F ≥ 2, F ≥ 3, and F4 were 0.837(95%CI: 0.729-0.914), 0.910(0.817-0.965), and 0.966(0.893-0.995), respectively. The optimal cut-off values of LSM for fibrosis stages F ≥ 2, F ≥ 3, and F4 were 6.55, 10.50, and 14.45 k Pa, respectively. LSM was significantly superior to fibrosis-4, glutaglumyl-transferase/platelet ratio, and aspartate aminotransferase-to-platelet ratio index scores in detecting severe fibrosis(F ≥ 3)(0.910 vs 0.715, P < 0.01; 0.910 vs 0.649, P < 0.01; 0.910 vs 0.616, P < 0.01, respectively).CONCLUSION TE can accurately detect hepatic fibrosis as a noninvasive method in patients with AIH-PBC overlap syndrome.
