INTRODUCTION The coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)pandemic has been going on for nearly three years since the coronavirus outbreak was first reported(1–3).China managed to control the unexpected first wave in Wuhan City,Hubei Province by using strictly compulsory measures(4–5).Later,to prevent imported infections and control subsequent local transmission,China adjusted and implemented a proactive strategy widely known as the Dynamic COVID-Zero Strategy(6–7).

The particle size distribution(PSD)curve is an important expression of the basic properties of the soil.The characteristic parameters such as median particle size D 50,effective particle size D 10,and some combinations of characteristic parameters can only represent some points of the PSD curve,failing to represent all information of the PSD curve.In this paper,a fraction characteristic parameter F that could reflect the fraction size variation of the PSD curve was introduced based on grading entropy.And a new presentation method of the A-B-F three parameters was proposed for a refined representation of the PSD curve.It was found that the newly constructed model not only better represents the differences in the width of PSD curves but also has a higher sensitivity than the A-B two-parameter model proposed by Lőrincz.For PSD curves with similar distributions,the new presentation method has a higher degree of discrimination than that of the D 50-C u-C c three-parameter or the four-parameter combination G c proposed by Arshad.Finally,the application of this new method in describing the spatial nonuniformity distribution of depositions and predicting the soil hydraulic conductivity was discussed.The research results can provide a reference for the refined representation of PSD curves.

During ship operations,frequent heave movements can pose significant challenges to the overall safety of the ship and completion of cargo loading.The existing heave compensation systems suffer from issues such as dead zones and control system time lags,which necessitate the development of reasonable prediction models for ship heave movements.In this paper,a novel model based on a time graph convolutional neural network algorithm and particle swarm optimization algorithm(PSO-TGCN)is proposed for the first time to predict the multipoint heave movements of ships under different sea conditions.To enhance the dataset's suitability for training and reduce interference,various filter algorithms are employed to optimize the dataset.The training process utilizes simulated heave data under different sea conditions and measured heave data from multiple points.The results show that the PSO-TGCN model predicts the ship swaying motion in different sea states after 2 s with 84.7%accuracy,while predicting the swaying motion in three different positions.By performing a comparative study,it was also found that the present method achieves better performance that other popular methods.This model can provide technical support for intelligent ship control,improve the control accuracy of intelligent ships,and promote the development of intelligent ships.

Obesity has become a global health problem. lifestyle modification and medical treatment only appear to yield short-term weight loss. Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (RYGB) is the most popular bariatric procedure, and it sustains weight reduction and results in the remission of obesity-associated comorbidities for obese individuals. However, patients who undergo this surgery may develop hypoglycemia. To date, the diagnosis is challenging and the prevalence of post-RYGB hypoglycemia (PRH) is unclear. RYGB alters the anatomy of the upper gastrointestinal tract and has a combined effect of caloric intake restriction and nutrient malabsorption. Nevertheless, the physiologic changes after RYGB are complex. Although hyperinsulinemia, incretin effects, dysfunction of β-cells and α-cells, and some other factors have been widely investigated and are reported to be possible mediators of PRH, the pathogenesis is still not completely understood. In light of the important role of the gut microbiome in metabolism, we hypothesized that the gut microbiome might also be a critical link between RYGB and hypoglycemia. In this review, we mainly highlight the current possible factors predisposing individuals to PRH, particularly related to the gut microbiota, which may yield significant insights into the intestinal regulation of glucose metabolic homeostasis and provide novel clues to improve the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus.

Objective：To review the natural history and growth kinetics of small renal masses （SRMs）.Data Sources：The literature concerning natural history and growth kinetics of SRMs was collected from PubMed published from 1990 to 2014.Study Selection：We included all the relevant articles on the active surveillance （AS） or delayed treatment for SRMs in English,with no limitation of study design.Results：SRMs under AS have a slow growth potential in general.The mean linear growth rate is 0.33 cm/year,the mean volumetric growth rate is 9.48 cm3/year.The rate of metastasis during AS is below 2％.Some factors are associated with the growth rate of SRMs,including tumor grade,histological subtype,initial tumor size,age,radiographic characteristics,and molecular markers.No definite predictor of growth rate of SRMs is defined at present.SRMs with high tumor grade and the subtype of clear cell renal cell carcinoma may have aggressive growth potential.Conclusions：AS is a reasonable choice for elderly patients with SRMs,who are at high risk from surgery.Progression during observation is the biggest concern while performing AS.There is no definite predictor of progression for SRMs under AS.Percutaneous renal biopsy providing immunohistological and genic biomarkers may improve the understanding of natural history of SRMs.

This studay is to construct a lentiviral vector harbouring an RNA interference （RNAi） sequence that targets the gene encoding the human high-mobility group nucleosomal binding protein 1 （NSBP1）; to study its role in inducing G2/M phase arrest and apoptosis in prostate cancer （PCa） DU145 cells; and to assess the effect of its knockdown on cell proliferation in vitro and in vivo. RNAi was applied to knock down NSBP1 expression in the PCa cell line DU145 by lentiviral plasmids producing an NSBP1 small hairpin RNA. After NSBP1 knockdown in DU145 cells, the growth rate of cells was analyzed by MTT, and G2/M cell cycle arrest and apoptosis were assessed using a FAC- Scalibur flow cytometer. Tumour growth was assessed in nude mice. The mRNA and protein expression levels of NSBP1, cyclin B1 and Bcl-2 were analysed in vitro and in vivo by reverse-transcriptase polymerase chain reaction and Western blotting. Knockdown of NSBP1 resulted in a 22.6% decrease in the growth rate of cells compared with the PscNC lentivirus control cells at 96 h, decreased tumour growth in nude mice, and the induction of Gz/M cell cycle arrest （8.78%） and apoptosis （2.19-fold）. Consistent with the cell cycle arrest and apoptosis, the mRNA and protein expression levels of cyclin B 1 and Bcl-2 were decreased. In conclusion, knockdown of NSBP 1 causes a statistically significant inhibition of the in vitro and in vivo growth of the PCa cell line DU145. Growth suppression is at least partially due to NSBP1 knockdown-induced Gz/M cell cycle arrest and apoptosis. The present data provide the evidence that the NSBP1 knockdown-induced G2/M phase arrest and apoptosis may result from negative regulation of cyclin B 1 and Bcl-2 by NSBP1, with the resulting reduced expression of these proteins.

Background Triple negative breast cancer(TNBC),the most aggressive subtype of breast cancer,is characterized by a high incidence of brain metastasis(BrM)and a poor prognosis.As the most lethal form of breast cancer,BrM remains a major clinical challenge due to its rising incidence and lack of effective treatment strategies.Recent evidence suggested a potential role of lipid metabolic reprogramming in breast cancer brain metastasis(BCBrM),but the underlying mechanisms are far from being fully elucidated.Methods Through analysis of BCBrM transcriptome data from mice and patients,and immunohistochemical validation on patient tissues,we identified and verified the specific down-regulation of retinoic acid receptor responder 2(RARRES2),a multifunctional adipokine and chemokine,in BrM of TNBC.We investigated the effect of aberrant RARRES2 expression of BrM in both in vitro and in vivo studies.Key signaling pathway components were evaluated using multi-omics approaches.lipidomics were performed to elucidate the regulation of lipid metabolic reprogramming of RARRES2.Results We found that downregulation of RARRES2 is specifically associated with BCBrM,and that RARRES2 deficiency promoted BCBrM through lipid metabolic reprogramming.Mechanistically,reduced expression of RARRES2 in brain metastatic potential TNBC cells resulted in increased levels of glycerophospholipid and decreased levels of triacylglycerols by regulating phosphatase and tensin homologue(PTEN)-mammalian target of rapamycin(mTOR)-sterol regulatory element-binding protein 1(SREBP1)signaling pathway to facilitate the survival of breast cancer cells in the unique brain microenvironment.Conclusions Our work uncovers an essential role of RARRES2 in linking lipid metabolic reprogramming and the development of BrM.RARRES2-dependent metabolic functions may serve as potential biomarkers or therapeutic targets for BCBrM.

Mechanochemical synthesis of MAPbBr_(3)/carbon sphere composites for boosting carrier-involved superoxide species

Lead halide perovskites MAPbX_(3)(MA = CH_(3)NH_(3) or Cs;X = I, Br, Cl) are well considered to be potential candidates for photocatalytic reaction due to its excellent photoelectrical properties, but they still suffer from the low charge separation efficiency and slow catalytic reaction dynamics. To tackle the drawbacks, herein, MAPbBr_(3)/carbon sphere(CS) composite photocatalysts using glucose as the carbon source were elaborately designed and fabricated via a dry mechanochemical grinding process. The interfacial interaction Pb-O-C chemical bonds were constructed between MAPbBr_(3) and the carbon sphere surface containing organic functional groups. By optimizing the content of CSs, the enhanced photocatalytic degradation kinetic rate of Malachite Green(MG) pollutants(92% within 20 min) for MAPbBr_(3)/CS x( x = 17 wt.%) is about 3.6-fold of that for pristine MAPbBr_(3), which is attributed to the corporative adsorption and enhanced carrier transportation and separation of MAPbBr_(3)/CS x. Furthermore, the possible degradation mechanism was proposed on basis of the electrochemical, mass spectrometry and optical characterization results. Owing to the robust interfacial interaction, effective electron extraction rate( k et = 4.6 × 10^(7) sec^(-1)) from MAPbBr_(3) to CS can be established, which driven oxygen activation where superoxide radicals(·O^(2-)) played an important role in MG degradation. It is expected that mechanochemistry strategy may provide a new route to design efficient lead halide perovskite-carbon or metal oxide or sulfide composite photocatalysts.

A new scintillating fiber detector inside magnetic shielding tube was designed and assembled for use in the next round of fusion experiments in the experimental advanced superconducting tokamak to provide D–T neutron yield with time resolution.In this study,Geant4 simulations were used to obtain the pulse height spectra for ideal signals produced when detecting neutrons and gamma rays of multiple energies.One of the main sources of interference was found to be low-energy neutrons below 10–5 MeV,which can generate numerous secondary particles in the detector components,such as the magnetic shielding tube,leading to high-amplitude output signals.To address this issue,a compact thermal neutron shield containing a 1-mm Cd layer outside the magnetic shielding tube and a 5-mm inner Pb layer was specifically designed.Adverse effects on the measurement of fast neutrons and the shielding effect on gamma rays were considered.This can suppress the height of the signals caused by thermal neutrons to a level below the height corresponding to neutrons above 4 MeV because the yield of the latter is used for detector calibration.In addition,the detector has relatively flat sensitivity curves in the fast neutron region,with the intrinsic detection efficiencies(IDEs)of approximately 40%.For gamma rays with energies that are not too high(lier in the low-energy region,which is beneficial for avoiding counting saturation and signal accumulation.
