The process of 180°domain switching in PbTiO_3 single crystal under an antiparallel electric field was investigated by the three-dimensional phase field simulation,especially the effect of electric field on the type and duration of domain *** is found that the polarization reversal of domains takes place under an antiparallel electric field in PbTiO_3 single *** results of the phase field simulation indicate that there is only 90°domain switching under a weak electric *** the rise of the electric field,180°domain switching *** the electric field is strengthened further,90°domain switching disappears and the duration of domain switching is shortened.

The inclusion interaction between berberine hydrochloride （BRH） and cucurbit[7] （CB[7]） has been studied by spectrofluorimetry. The result showed that CB[7] interaction with BRH to form a stable inclusion complex with an association constant of 9.57 × 10^4 L/mol and the fluorescence intensity of the complex was enhanced in 17 times higher than that of the studied drug itself. Based on the significant enhancement of fluorescence intensity of BRH in inclusion complex, a spetrofluorimetric method with high sensitivity and selectivity was developed for the determination of BRH in aqueous solution. The linear range of the method was 3.2- 2 × 10^3 ng/mL with a detection limit of 1.1 ng/mL. The proposed procedure could be applied successfully to determination of BRH remained in pharmaceutical dosage forms, spiked human plasma and urine with satisfactory results.

A meta-analysis of association between acne vulgaris and Demodex infestation

Until now, etiology of acne vulgaris is still uncertain. Although clinicians usually deny the association between Demodex infestation and acne vulgaris, it has been proved in some clinical practices. To confirm the association between Demodex infestation and acne vulgaris, a meta-analysis was conducted. Predefined selection criteria were applied to search all published papers that analyzed the association between Demodex infestation and acne vulgaris (January 1950 to August 2011) in ISI Web of Knowledge, MEDliNE, and China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) databases. A meta-analysis was performed to calculate odds ratios (ORs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) based on fixed effects models or random effects models. We enrolled the 60 Chinese and 3 English papers in this meta-analysis, which covered Turkey and 25 different provinces/municipalities in China and 42 130 participants in-cluding students and residents, aged from 1 to 78 years. The pooled OR in random effects models is 2.80 (95% CI, 2.34-3.36). Stability is robust according to sensitivity analysis. The fail-safe number is 18 477, suggesting that at least 18 477 articles with negative conclusions would be needed to reverse the conclusion that acne vulgaris was related to Demodex infestation. So the effect of publication bias was insignificant and could be ignored. It was concluded that acne vulgaris is associated with Demodex infestation. This indicates that when regular treatments for acne vulgaris are ineffective, examination of Demodex mites and necessary acaricidal therapies should be considered.

Background： Rituximab in combination with cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, vincristine, and prednisone （CHOP） significantly prolonged event-free survival in first-line chemotherapy for patients with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma （DLBCL）. But relapse and refractory DLBC L occur frequently. Although rituximab is effective, its role in salvage therapy after autologous transplant remains unclear. Maintenance therapy with rituximab in responding patients after first line chemotherapy may be a useful novel approach capable of eradicating minimal residual disease and to bring survival benefit. This systematic review and meta-analysis evaluated the effects of rituximab maintenance treatment and salvage therapy of patients with DLBCL. Methods： We performed a systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials and compared rituximab maintenance or salvage therapy at relapse with observation. We searched the Cochrane library, PubMed, EMBASE, conference proceedings, databases of ongoing trials, and references of published trials. Two reviewers independently assessed the quality of the trials and extracted data. Hazard ratios for time-to-event data were estimated and pooled. Results： Seven trials including 1470 DLBCL patients were included in this systematic review and recta-analysis. Patients treated with maintenance rituximab have better overall survival （OS） and event-tree survival （EFS） than patients in the observation arm, but there was no statistical significance. Patients who received rituximab salvage therapy for relapse or refractory DLBCL have statistically significantly better OS [HR of death = 0.72, 95% CI （0.55-0.94）, P - 0.02], progression-free survival （PFS） [HR - 0.61,95% CI（0.52-0.72）, P 〈 0.05], odds ratio （OR） [RR = 1.26, 95% CI（1.07-1,47）, P = 0.004] than patients in the observation arm. AIM:To investigate the relationship between late SV40 factor(LSF)and Notch signaling in the development and progress of hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).METHODS:liver cancer tissue specimens from 25 patients were analyzed for Notch-1 and LSF expression by *** correlation between expression and the biological effects of Notch-1 and LSF were analyzed using genetic and pharmacological strategies in HCC cell lines and human normal cell lines,including hepatic stellate cells(HSC)and human embryonic kidney epithelial cells(HEK).RESULTS:Immunohistochemistry showed that both Notch-1 and LSF were significantly upregulated in HCC samples(76%,19/25,Pliferation and ***:LSF is a key mediator of the Notch signaling pathway,suggesting that it might be a novel therapeutic target for the treatment of HCC.

AIM： To explore the effect of hypobaric hypoxia on mitochondrial energy metabolism in rat liver. METHODS： Adult male Wistar rats were exposed to a hypobadc chamber simulating 5000 m high altitude for 23 h every day for 0 （H0）, 1 （H1）, 5 （H5）, 15 （H15） and 30 d （H30） respectively. Rats were sacrificed by decapitation and liver was removed. liver mitochondria were isolated by differential centrifugation program. The size of adenine nucleotide pool （ATP ADP, and AMP） in tissue and mitochondria was separated and measured by high performance liquid chromatography （HPLC）. The adenine nucleotide transporter （ANT） activity was determined by isotopic technique. The ANT total protein level was determined by Western blot. RESULTS： Compared with H0 group, intra-mitochondrial ATP content decreased in all hypoxia groups. However, the H5 group reached the lowest point （70.6%）（P〈 0.01） when compared to the control group. Intra-mitochondrial ADP and AMP level showed similar change in all hypoxia groups and were significantly lower than that in H0 group, In addition, extra-mitochondrial ATP and ADP content decreased significantly in all hypoxia groups. Furthermore, extra-mitochondrial AMP in groups H5, H15 and H30 was significantly lower than that in H0 group, whereas HI group had no marked change compared to the control situation. The activity of ANT in hypoxia groups decreased significantly, which was the lowest in H5 group （55.7%）（P〈0.01） when compared to H0 group. ANT activity in H30 group was higher than in H15 group, but still lower than that in H0 group. ANT protein level in H5, H15, H30 groups, compared with H0 group decreased significantly, which in H5 group was the lowest, being 27.1% of that in H0 group （P〈0.01）. ANT protein level in H30 group was higher than in H15 group, but still lower than in H0 group. CONCLUSION： Hypobaric hypoxia decreases the mitochondrial ATP content in rat liver, while mitochondrial ATP level recovers during long-term hypoxia exposure. The lower

A simple and sensitive electroanalytical method for determination of shikonin, a widely used antitumoral agent, using β-cyclodextrin-functionalized multiwalled carbon nanotubes composite modified glassy carbon electrodes （MWCNTs/β-CD/GCE） was presented. CDs are water-soluble and environmentally friendly and can improve the dispersibility of MWCNTs/βCD functional materials, which was confirmed by SEM. The electrochemical behaviors of shikonin on different electrodes were investigated by cyclic voltammetry （CV） and differential pulse voltammograms （DPVs）. The results demonstrated that the redox peak currents of shikonin obtained at MWCNTs/fl-CD/GCE were much higher than those at the βCD/GCE and MWCNTs/GCE, which can be attributed to the combination of the excellent electrocatalytic properties of MWCNTs and the molecular recognition ability of βCD. At MWCNTs/ βCD/GCE, the response current exhibits a linear range from 5.0 nmol/L to 10.0 μmol/L with a detection limit of 1.0nmol/L （S/N=3）. As a practical application, the proposed method was applied to quantitatively determine shikoninin urine samples with satisfying results.
