BACKGROUND Cytokine release syndrome(CRS)is defined as systemic inflammation that usually occurs following chimeric antigen receptor T-cell therapy administration;however,it has not been reported in patients with untreated non-small cell lung cancer to *** SUMMARY A 44-year-old nonsmoking woman presented to the hospital due to fever,palpitation,nausea,and cough for 1 mo and was diagnosed with stage cT3N3M0(IIIc)adenocarcinoma of the *** examinations revealed elevated cytokine[tumor necrosis factor-α,interleukin(IL)-1β,and IL-6]and inflammatory factor levels,which decreased after treatment with corticosteroids and immunoglobulin and when tumor growth was controlled following chemotherapy,radiotherapy,and antiangiogenesis ***,tumor recurrence was *** administration of nivolumab as third-line treatment,the patient’s condition was transiently controlled;however,CRS-like symptoms suddenly emerged,which led to a resurgence of cytokines and inflammatory factors and rapid *** CRS can develop in treatment-naïve lung cancer *** with tumorrelated CRS may be at risk of CRS recurrence,aggravation,and onset of immune checkpoint inhibitor-related adverse events.

Mechanical properties and durability of alkali-activated steel slag-blastfurnace slag cement

Alkali-activated cement(AAC)is either clinker-less or free,and it is also environmentally friendly due to its low carbon footprint and wide range *** wastes,like steel slag and blastfurnace slag,usually have latent hydraulic reactivity,and can be used as precursors of *** clinkerless and clinker-free AAC were prepared from the mixture of steel slag and blastfurnace slag by using water glass as an activator,and four different recipes which satisfied the strength requirement of 42.5R Portland cement were *** recipe of AAC exhibited better resistance to sulfate attack and frost attack than Portland *** showed huge drying shrinkage,but it was equivalent to that of Portland cement as steel slag content increased to 40%.The AAC also had quite low risk of alkali-aggregate *** analysis showed that the major products were calcium silicate hydrate(C–S–H),calcium aluminosilicate hydrate(C–A–S–H)and zeolite-like *** was also detected in the binder when gypsum was contained in the precursors.

Enhanced lateral flow assay with double conjugates for the detection of exosomes

Exosomes are promising biological biomarkers for monitoring a number of diseases, especially cancers. Here, we developed a double gold nanoparticles （GNPs） conjugates based lateral flow assay （D-LFA） for rapidly and sensitively detecting and molecular profiling of exosomes. Based on these two GNPs conjugates, the signal amplification can be achieved without any additional operation. The antibody on the 1st GNPs conjugate could recognize exosomes and form a sandwich format on the test zone. The 2nd GNPs conjugate was designed to bind to the 1st GNPs conjugate to realize signal amplification. This biosensor enabled visual and quantitative detection of exosomes by the accumulation of GNPs on the test zone and showed a low detection limit of 1.3x10^3 particles/laL, which has been improved 13-fold compared with the normal lateral flow assay. The D-LFA exhibited good sensitivity and reproducibility and has been successfully used for the detection ofexosomes in fetal bovine serum, which proved its potential application in practical diagnostics.

Effects of calculation approaches for thermal conductivity on the simulation accuracy of billet continuous casting

An unsteady, two-dimensional, explicitly solved fmite difference heat transfer model of a billet caster was presented to clarify the influence of the thermal conductivity of steel on model accuracy. Different approaches were utilized for calculating the thermal conductivity of solid, mushy and liquid steels. Model results predicted by these approaches were compared, and the advantages of advocated approaches were discussed. It is found that the approach for calculating the thermal conductivity of solid steel notably influences model predictions. Convection effects of liquid steel should be considered properly while calculating the thermal conductivity of mushy steel. Different values of the effective thermal conductivity of liquid steel adopted could partly be explained by the fact that different models adopted dissimilar ap- proaches for calculating the thermal conductivity of solid and mushy steels.

Mild-condition synthesis of A2ZnH4(A = K, Rb, Cs) and their effects on the hydrogen storage properties of 2liH-Mg(NH2)2

In this paper, A2ZnH4(A = K, Rb and Cs) have been synthesized for the first time by a new approach involving in two-step reactions, in which the target samples can be produced under mild conditions(160 ℃ for 4 h). What’s more, the additive effects of A2ZnH4 on the hydrogen storage properties of 2liH-Mg(NH2)2 composite have been investigated systematically. Experimental results show that K2ZnH4 has the best comprehensive modification effects among these hydrides. The 2liH-Mg(NH2)2-0.1 K2ZnH4 sample shifts dehydrogenation peak temperature downwards by ca. 30 ℃ as compared to the pristine sample. In addition, about 70% extent of the theoretical hydrogen is able to desorb from the 0.1 K2ZnH4 doped sample at 140 ℃ within 2 h, however, only 20% extent of hydrogen is liberated from the pure sample under the same conditions. The improved desorption kinetics is indicated by the reduced dehydrogenation activation energy(Ea), the Ea of the 0.1 K2ZnH4 doped sample is around 68 ± 1.0 kJ mol-1 which is 28% lower than that of the pristine one. Furthermore, the dehydrogenation mechanism of the K2ZnH4 doped sample has been proposed.

Semiconductors, a significant type of material in the information era, are becoming more and more powerful in the field of quantum information. In recent decades, semiconductor quantum computation was investigated thoroughly across the world and developed with a dramatically fast speed. The research varied from initialization, control and readout of qubits, to the architecture of fault-tolerant quantum ***, we first introduce the basic ideas for quantum computing, and then discuss the developments of single-and two-qubit gate control in semiconductors. Up to now, the qubit initialization, control and readout can be realized with relatively high fidelity and a programmable two-qubit quantum processor has even been demonstrated. However, to further improve the qubit quality and scale it up, there are still some challenges to resolve such as the improvement of the readout method, material development and scalable designs. We discuss these issues and introduce the forefronts of progress. Finally, considering the positive trend of the research on semiconductor quantum devices and recent theoretical work on the applications of quantum computation, we anticipate that semiconductor quantum computation may develop fast and will have a huge impact on our lives in the near future.

Complete genome sequences of four isolates of Citrus leaf blotch virus from citrus in China

Citrus leaf blotch virus （CLBV） is a member of the genus Citrivirus, in the family Betaflexiviridae. It has been reported CLBV could infect kiwi, citrus and sweet cherry in China. Of 289 citrus samples from six regions of China, 15 were detected to be infected with CLBV in this study. The complete genome of four isolates of CLBV was obtained from Reikou in Sichuan （CLBV-LH）, Yura Wase in Zhejiang （CLBV-YL）, Bingtangcheng in Hunan （CLBV-BT）, Fengjie 72-1 in Chongqing （CLBV- F J）, respectively. While they all represented 8 747 nucleotides in monopartite size, excluding the poly（A） tail, each of the isolates coded three open reading frames （ORFs）. Identity of the four isolates ranged from 98.9 to 99.8% to each other and from 96.8 to 98.1% to the citrus references in GenBank by multiple alignment of genomes. A phylogenetic tree based on the genome sequences of available CLBV isolates indicated that the four isolates were clustered together, suggesting that CLBV isolates from citrus in China did not have obvious variation. This is the first report of the complete nucleotide sequences of CLBV isolates infecting citrus in China.

Peptide hydrogels have been widely used for diverse biomedical applications. However, our current understanding of the physical principles underlying the self-assembly process is still limited. In this review, we summarize our current understanding on the physical chemistry principles from the basic interactions that drive the self-assembly process to the energy landscapes that dictate the thermodynamics and kinetics of the process. We discuss the effect of different factors that affect the kinetics of the self-assembly of peptide fibrils and how this is related to the macroscopic gelation process. We provide our understanding on the molecular origin of the complex and rugged energy landscape for the self-assembly of peptide hydrogels. The hierarchical self-assembled structures and the diverse self-assembling mechanism make it difficult and challenging to rationally design the physical and chemical properties of peptide hydrogels at the molecular revel. We also give our personal perspective to the potential future directions in this field.
