A novel phycocyanin-Chla/c_2-protein complex isolated from chloroplasts of Chroomonas placoidea

Nine pigment-protein complexes were separated and characterized from intact Chroomonasplacoidea chloroplasts by IEF. The bands Ⅰ-Ⅵ with their isoelectric points （pI） values from 4 to 6 were phycocyanin components; bands Ⅷ and Ⅸ （pI = 2.8-3.6） were chlorophyll-protein complexes. According to absorption and fluorescence spectra, band VII was designated as a novel phycocyanin-Chla/c2-protein complex （pI ≈ 3.4-3.7）. These results indicated that phycocyanin is structurally and functionally coupled with chlorophyll-protein complex in C. placoidea, and probably interacted with electrostatic force in combination.

China has pledged to peak carbon emissions before 2030 and strive to achieve carbon neutrality before ***,the significant variations of provincial carbon emissions make it unclear whether they can jointly fulfill the national carbon peak and neutrality ***,this study predicts the emission trajectories at provincial level in China by employing the extended STIRPAT(Stochastic Impacts by Regression on Population,Affluence,and Technology)model to see the feasibility and time of reaching peak carbon emissions and carbon *** found that most provinces can achieve peak emission before 2030 but challenging to achieve carbon neutrality before 2060,even considering the ecological carbon *** provincial neutrality time is concentrated between 2058 and 2070;the sooner the carbon emission peaks,the earlier the carbon neutral will be *** aggregated carbon emissions at provincial level show that China can achieve its carbon emission peak of 9.64-10.71 Gt before 2030,but it is unlikely to achieve the carbon neutrality goal before 2060 without carbon capture,utilization,and storage(CCUS).With high CCUS development,China is expected to achieve carbon neutrality in 2054-2058,irrespective of the socio-economic *** low CCUS development,China's carbon neutrality target will be achieved only under the accelerated-improvement scenario,while it will postpone to 2061 and 2064 under the continued-improvement and the business-as-usual scenarios,respectively.

Identification of Known and Novel PTCH Mutations in Both Syndromic and Non-syndromic Keratocystic Odontogenic Tumors

Aim To clarify the role of PTCH in patients with NBCCS- related and non-sydromic keratocystic odontogenic tumors. Methodology Mutation analysis was undertaken in 8 sporadic and 4 NBCCS-associated KCOTs. Results Four novel and two known mutations were identifled in 2 sporadic and 3 syndromic cases, two of which being germline mutations （c.2179delT, c.2824delC） and 4 somatic mutations （c.3162dupG, c.1362-1374dup, c.1012 C〉T, c.403C〉T）. Conclusion Our findings suggest that defects of PTCH are associated with the pathogenesis of syndromic as well as a subset of non-syndromic KCOTs.

AIM： To study the immunoregulatory effect of 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin-D3 Von dominant Thl response in rats. METHODS： Sixty adult Lewis rats were randomized into three groups. Rats in group 1 （n=25） were treated with 1,25-（OH）2D3 first and then challenged with LPS, rats in group 2 （n=25） were treated with vehicle first and then challenged with LPS. Ten animals in groups 1 and 2 were preserved for mortality observation. The remaining animals were injected （i.p） with endotoxin, 24 h after the last administration of 1,25-（OH）2D3 and vehicle. Rats in group 3 （n=10） were treated with 1,25-（OH）2D3 only. Serum IL-12, IFN-y, IL-2 and IL-4 levels were measured and target gene of 1,25-（OH）2D3 on Th cells was studied after 6 h. Gene abundance was verified by real-time quantitative PCR. RESULTS： No death occurred in rats pretreated with 1,25-（OH）2D3 after LPS injection. Death occurred 9 h after LPS injection in rats pretreated with the vehicle, and the number of deaths was 5 within 24 h, with a mortality rate of 50%. There was no change in the number of deaths within 96 h. Six hours after endotoxin stimulation, serum IL-12 and IFN-y levels decreased significantly in rats pretreated with 1,25-（OH）2D3 as compared with those in rats pretreated with the vehicle. The serum content of these two cytokines was very low in rats not challenged by endotoxin, and there was a significant difference as compared with the previous two groups. CONCLUSION： 1,25-（OH）2D3 attenuates injuryinduced by the lethal dose of 1PS, regulates Thl and Th2 cells at the transcription level, and dominantly responds to cytokine production in rats.

Effects of exogenous salicylic acid on growth and H_2O_2-metabolizing enzymes in rice seedlings under lead stress

Salicylic acid （SA） was an essential component of the plant resistance to pathogens and also plays an important role in mediating plant response to some abiotic stress. The possible effects of SA on the growth and H2O2-metabolizing enzymes in rice seedlings under lead stress were studied. When rice seedlings grown in nutrient solution containing Pb^2＋（0, 0.05, 0.15, 0.25 mmol/L） for 18 d, the plant biomass as well as the chlorophyll content of leaves decreased with increasing Pb concentration. The pre-treatment with SA （treated with 0.1 mmol/L SA for 48 h before Pb stress） partially protected seedlings from Pb toxicity. The chlorophyll contents were significant higher in leaves of Pb-exposed with SA pre-treatment seedlings than in Pb-exposed plants at the same Pb intensity. SA pre-treated alone could significantly increase the length of shoot and root of seedlings but the vigour difference was not marked under long-term exposure to Pb toxicity. SA pre-treated influence the H2O2 level in leaves of seedlings by up-regulating the activity of superoxide dismutase （SOD）, repressing the activity of catalase （CAT） and ascorbate peroxidase （APX） depending on the concentrations of Pb^2＋ in the growth medium. The results supported the conclusion that SA played a positive role in rice seedlings against Pb toxicity.

Congenital heart defect （CHD） is the most common fetal defects. Copy nmnber variations （CNVs） were demonstrated to be involved in the etiology of CHDs. We report three cases from a family diagnosed as CHDs with a rare novel duplication ofXp22.33-p I 1.22. A 30-year-old woman, gmvida 2 para 0. Her first pregnancy at 2012 was diagnosed to be dichorionic twin pregnancy and her second pregnancy at 2014 was a singleton pregnancy. After a routine ultrasound scan at 22 week＇s gestation, all the fetuses were diagnosed with critical CHDs. The first fetus （male） exhibited tetralogy of Fallot, atrial septal defect, persistent left superior vena cava, and coronary sinus dilatation while the examination of the second fetus （male） revealed atrioventricular septal detect and hypoplastic left heart syndrome. The third fetus （t^male） was also diagnosed with an atrioventricular septaI defect and hypoplastic left heart syndrome. The parents decided to terminate the wegnancy.

Large-scale synthesis of nickel sulfide micro/nanorods via a hydrothermal process

Rhombohedral-phase NiS micro/nanorods were synthesized on a large scale through a hydrothermal method using NiCl2·6H2O and thiourea crystals as starting precursors. Recrystallized thiourea was observed to play an important role in the formation of mi- cro/nanosized rods and flower-like structures. The molar ratio and reaction temperature of the precursors influenced the morphology and phase of NiS products. Pure rhombohedral NiS micro/nanorods were obtained on a large scale when the molar ratio between NiCl2·6H2O and thiourea crystals was fixed at 2：1, and the mixture was heated at 250℃ for 5 h. Flower-like NiS nanostructures were formed when the molar ratio between NiCl2·6H2O and thiourea crystals was maintained at 1：1. The Raman and Fourier-transform infrared （FTIR） spectra of the as-prepared rhombohedral NiS micro/nanorods were collected, and their magnetic properties were investigated. The results showed that the FTIR absorption peaks of the as-prepared product are located at 634 cm^-1 and their Raman peaks are located at 216 and 289 cm^-1; the as-prepared NiS micro/nanorods exhibited weak ferromagnetic behavior due to the size effect.

Based on the building principle of additive manufacturing,printing orientation mainly determines the tribological properties of joint *** this study,we created a polyether-ether-ketone(PEEK)joint prosthesis using fused filament fabrication and investigated the effects of printing orientation on its tribological properties using a pin-on-plate tribometer in 25% newborn calf *** ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene transfer film is formed on the surface of PEEK due to the mechanical capture of wear debris by the 3D-printed groove morphology,which is significantly impacted by the printing orientation of *** the printing orientation was parallel to the sliding direction of friction,the number and size of the transfer film increased due to higher steady *** transfer film protected the matrix and reduced the friction coefficient and wear rate of friction pairs by 39.13%and 74.33%,***,our findings provide a novel perspective regarding the role of printing orientation in designing knee prostheses,facilitating its practical applications.
