There are no approvedtherapeuticdrugs for nonalcoholic steatohepatitis(NASH)due to the many bottlenecks,including the lack of preclinical animal models that can perfectly mimic human NASH features,such as systemic metabolic disorders,hepatic steatosis,intense liver inflammation and fibrosis,liver tumorigenesis,and cardiovascularcomplications.i,2"Pigment"epitheliumderived factor(PEDF)is a lipid metabolism regulator with high expression in the liver,and its reduced expression in the liver is closely related to the development of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD).

To the Editor:In 1996,Parodi et al^([1])introduced the technique of fenestrated endovascular aneurysm repair(f-EVAR)for treatment of pararenal abdominal aortic aneurysms.They use physician modified stent grafts(PMSGs)for fenestration,which allows for stent grafts to gain sufficient proximal sealing zones and maintain the blood perfusion of visceral arteries.^([2])Stent grafts used in the f-EVAR technique developed from PMSGs to Company Modified Devices(CMDs)and off-the-shelf devices.^([3])To improve the precision of PMSGs and shorten the time of stent graft modification,various techniques that assist in the process of fenestration have been researched and developed,including 3-dimensional(3D)printing technique,the Mixed Reality(MR)technique,and the 3D parametric surface planar topological guide plate.This article describes the current status and future development of these techniques.

Zinc-ion batteries(ZIBs)are considered to be one of the most promising candidates to replace lithium-ion batteries(liBs)due to the high theoretical capacity,low cost and intrinsic safety.However,zinc dendrites,hydrogen evolution reaction,surface passivation and other side reactions will inevitably occur during the charging and discharging process of Zn anode,which will seriously affect the cycle stability of the battery and hinder its practical application.The etching strategy of Zn anode has attracted wide attention because of its simple operation and broad commercial prospects,and the etched Zn anode can effectively improve its electrochemical performance.However,there is no comprehensive review of the etching strategy of Zn anode.This review first summarizes the challenges faced by Zn anode,then puts forward the etching mechanisms and properties of acid,salt and other etchants.Finally,based on the above discussion,the challenges and opportunities of Zn anode etching strategy are proposed.

BACKGROUND Paraganglioma(PGL)located in the retroperitoneum presents challenges in diagnosis and treatment due to its hidden location,lack of specific symptoms in the early stages,and absence of distinctive manifestations on imaging.CASE SUMMARY A 56-year-old woman presented with a left upper abdominal mass discovered 1 wk ago during a physical examination.She did not have a history of smoking,alcohol consumption,or other harmful habits,no surgical procedures or infectious diseases,and had a 4-year history of hypertension.Upon admission,she did not exhibit fever,vomiting,or abdominal distension.Physical examination indicated mild percussion pain in the left upper abdomen,with no palpable enlargement of the liver or spleen.Laboratory tests and tumor markers showed no significant abnormalities.Enhanced computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging of the upper abdomen revealed a cystic solid mass in the left epigastrium measuring approximately 6.5 cm×4.5 cm,with inhomogeneous enhancement in the arterial phase,closely associated with the lesser curvature of the stomach and the pancreas.The patient underwent laparoscopic resection of the retroperitoneal mass,which was successfully removed without tumor rupture.A 12-month postoperative follow-up period showed good recovery.CONCLUSION This case report details the successful laparoscopic resection of a retroperitoneal subclinical PGL,resulting in a good recovery observed at the 12-month follow-up.Interestingly,the patient also experienced unexpected cure of hypertensive disease.

Peptide-drug conjugates have achieved considerable development and application as a novel strategy for targeted delivery of anticancer drugs. Bioactive peptides induced calcium deposition can irreversibly assist inhibition of tumors. However, active regulation of calcium level through signal transduction of bioactive substances has not been reported yet. In this study, novel neuropeptide-doxorubicin conjugates(NP-DOX) with lysosome-specific acid response were described for neuropeptide Y_1 receptor(Y_1R)-overexpressed triple-negative breast cancer. The delivery mechanism of NP-DOX was clarified that diverse pathways were involved, including intracellular and intercellular transport. Importantly, up-regulation of Y_1 R-mediated intracellular calcium level via second messenger inositol triphosphate was presented in NP-DOX treated MDA-MB-231 cells. In vivo antitumor efficacy demonstrated that NP-DOX showed less organ toxicity and enhanced tumor inhibition benefited from its controlled release and Y_1R-mediated calcium deposition, compared with free DOX. This bioconjugate is a proof-of-concept confirming that neuropeptide-mediated control of signaling responses in neuropeptide-drug conjugates enables great potential for further applications in tumor chemotherapy.

Facile synthesis of NiMn2S4 nanoflakes on nickel foam for high-performance aqueous asymmetric supercapacitors

Supercapacitors display promising electrochemical performance with high power density and excellent cycle stability.However,their low energy density limits their advancement in a broader range of applications.To enhance their energy density,we proposed self-assembled spinel NiMn2S4nanoflakes grown on nickel foam which we successfully prepared by a facile hydrothermal method.The NiMn2S4electrode delivers a high capacitance of 2096.7 F g^(-1)at 1.0 A g^(-1),with an exceptional rate capability(~720.6 F g^(-1)at a very high current density of 100 A g^(-1))and good cycle stability(~85.1%retention of the initial capacitance after 7000 cycles with the Coulombic efficiency around 100%).The as-fabricated asymmetric supercapacitors based on NiMn2S4nanoflakes//active carbon demonstrate an energy density of 73.6 W h kg^(-1)at 800.5 W kg^(-1)and adequate cycling performance of~84.6%capacitance retention at 15 A g^(-1)after 10000 cycles.The results reveal that the nanostructured NiMn2S4is an excellent electrode material for high-performance energy storage applications.

Autoimmune hepatitis(AIH)is a chronic inflammatory liver disease that threatens human health worldwide.The aim of this study was to detect the protective effect of a fermented Lentinus edodes extract containingα-glucan(FLA),in a concanavalin A(Con A)-induced AIH mouse model and to determine the underlying liver-protective mechanism.The results showed that compared with the model group,the level of proinflammatory cytokines in serum of FLA pretreated mice was significantly decreased,and the degree of inflammatory cell infiltration in liver,thymus and spleen was significantly reduced.Quantitative polymerase chain reaction,immunohistochemistry,and Western blotting showed that FLA pre-treatment inhibited the Con A-induced apoptosis of hepatocytes by down-regulating the expression of BAX and up-regulating the expression of BCL-2.further research found that FLA may improve liver injury in mice by activating NRF2 signaling pathway and inhibiting TRAF6/NF-κB signaling pathway.Thus,FLA may improve liver injury in mice by shifting gut microbial composition to reduce the release of inflammatory cytokines in the serum and prevent the necrosis of hepatocytes.Up-regulation of NRF2 signaling pathway,down-regulation of TRAF6/NF-κB signaling pathway,and an increase in the relative abundance of Lactobacillus_johnsonii and ligilactobacillus_murinus play a protective role in liver.

Catalytic anode surface enabling in situ polymerization of gel polymer electrolyte for stable li metal batteries

Employing quasi-solid-state gel polymer electrolyte(GPE)instead of the liquid counterpart has been regarded as a promising strategy for improving the electrochemical performance of li metal batteries.However,the poor and uneven interfacial contact between li metal anode and GPE could cause large interfacial resistance and electrochemical li stripping/plating inhomogeneity,deteriorating the electrochemical performance.Herein,we proposed that the functional component of composite anode could work as the catalyst to promote the in situ polymerization reaction,and we experimentally realized the integration of polymerized-dioxolane electrolyte and li/li_(22)Sn_(5)/liF composite electrode with low interfacial resistance and good stability by in situ catalyzation polymerization.Thus,the reaction kinetics and stability of metallic li anode were significantly enhanced.As a demonstration,symmetric cell using such a GPE-li/li_(22)Sn_(5)/liF integration achieved stable cycling beyond 250 cycles with small potential hysteresis of 25 mV at 1 mA·cm^(−2)and 1 mAh·cm^(−2),far outperforming the counterpart regular GPE on pure li.Paired with liNi0.5Co0.3Mn0.2O2,the full cell with the GPE-li/li_(22)Sn_(5)/liF integration maintained 85.7%of the original capacity after 100 cycles at 0.5 C(1 C=200 mA·g^(−1)).Our research provides a promising strategy for reducing the resistance between GPE and li metal anode,and realizes li metal batteries with enhance electrochemical performance.

A green cross-linking method for the preparation of renewable threedimensional graphene sponges for efficient adsorption of Congo red dye

Graphene-based materials possess significant potential for the treatment of dye wastewater due to their exceptional adsorption properties toward stubborn pollutants.However,their utilization is hindered by high preparation costs,low yields,environmental pollution during synthesis,and challenges in regenerating the adsorbent.This study proposes a novel approach to address these limitations by developing nitrogen-doped three-dimensional(3D)polyvinyl alcohol(PVA)crosslinked graphene sponges(N-PGA)using a cross-linking method with ammonium carbonate.This method offers a relatively mild,environmentally friendly approach.Ammonium carbonate serves as both a reducing and modifying agent,facilitating the formation of the intrinsic structure of N-PGA and acting as a nitrogen source.Meanwhile,PVA is utilized as the cross-linking agent.The results demonstrate that N-PGA exhibits a favorable internal 3D hierarchical porous structure and possesses robust mechanical properties.The measured specific surface area(BET)of N-PGA was as high as406.538 m^(2)·g^(-1),which was favorable for its efficient adsorption of Congo red(CR)dye molecules.At an initial concentration of 50 mg·L^(-1),N-PGA achieved an impressive removal rate of 89.6%and an adsorption capacity of 112 mg·g^(-1)for CR dye.furthermore,it retained 79%of its initial adsorption capacity after 10 cycles,demonstrating excellent regeneration performance.In summary,the synthesized N-PGA displays remarkable efficacy in the adsorption of CR dye in wastewater,opening up new possibilities for utilizing 3D porous graphene nanomaterials as efficient adsorbents in wastewater treatment.

In this paper,we study the necessary and sufficient condition that the Toeplitz operators with respect to the conjugations of one permutation are 2-complex symmetric.Firstly,we introduce a class of conjugations called the conjugations of one permutations on the classical Hardy space.Secondly,Toeplitz operators are completely characterized as 2-complex symmetric structure under this class of conjugations.The matrix representation of Toeplitz operators in the classical regular orthogonal basis on Hardy space is used to describe this class of 2-complex symmetric Toeplitz operators.Finally,we add two preconditions fn=-f-nand fn=f-nrespectively to the Toeplitz operators,and we get more simplified results.Under the second condition,we study the 3-complex symmetry of Toeplitz operators,and we get the same result for Tfis a 3-CSO with the conjugation C((i,j)) and 2-CSO’s.
