Background Pediatric acute fulminant myocarditis(AFM)is a very dangerous disease that may lead to acute heart failure or even sudden *** reports have identified some prognostic factors in adult AFM;however,there is no such research on children with AFM on venoarterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation(VA-ECMO).This study aimed to find relevant prognostic factors for predicting adverse clinical *** A retrospective analysis was performed in an affiliated university children’s hospital with consecutive patients receiving VA-ECMO for AFM from July 2010 to November *** children were classified into a survivor group(n=33)and a non-survivor group(n=8).Patient demographics,clinical events,laboratory findings,and electrocardiographic and echocardiographic parameters were *** Peak serum creatinine(SCr)and peak creatine kinase isoenzyme MB during ECMO had joint predictive value for in-hospital mortality(p=0.011,AUC=0.962).Based on multivariable logistic regression analysis,peak SCr level during ECMO support was an independent predictor of in-hospital mortality(OR=1.035,95%CI 1.006 to 1.064,p=0.017,AUC=0.936,with optimal cut-off value of 78μmol/L).Conclusion Tissue hypoperfusion and consequent end-organ damage ultimately hampered the *** need for left atrial decompression indicated a sicker patient on ECMO and introduced additional risk for *** and more cautious deployment would likely be associated with decreased risk of complications and mortality.

Background To summarize the experience of management of persistent pulmonary hypertension of the newborn (PPHN) with extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) *** We presented three neonates with PPHN supported by ECMO in our *** records and patient management notes were retrospectively *** For two neonates with congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH),diaphragm repair surgery was done under ECMO *** patient was weaned from ECMO after 73 hours,and recovered well at the last follow-up after 1 *** other patient was weaned from ECMO after 167 hours,and he died from septic shock 21 days after *** the neonate with idiopathic PPHN,ECMO was withdrawn *** ECMO is an effective rescue means for refractory *** intervention timing,accurate coagulation,and volume management are important.

Precipitation can shape our climate both in the present and the *** though we have made significant advances in studying the mechanisms of millennial-scale climate changes through high-resolution records,we still cannot quantitatively characterize the global spatiotemporal precipitation variations within the ***,we developed a new approach to integrating data from 349 globally distributed records and climate models to reconstruct regional and global precipitation patterns over the last 12000 *** results reveal that precipitation reconstructions can be divided into monsoon-driven and westerly driven *** results suggest that an arid climate was experienced in the late glacial and early Holocene epoch(~12−7.4 cal ka BP),attaining a middle Holocene optimum(~7.4−3.5 cal ka BP),and drier after the middle *** to our reconstructions,the global precipitation reconstruction increased from the early Holocene until 3.8 cal ka BP and then subsequently *** addition,our reconstructions better reproduce the low-frequency events and extreme precipitation at the millennial scale in the hemispheres,but the performance of the reconstructions in the equatorial Pacific and the Southern Hemisphere of Africa and the Americas is *** resolution of the record and the simulation capability of the climate model remain important means to improve our understanding of past climate change.

In recent years,Enhanced Geothermal System(EGS)technologies have been applied to the geothermal resources production in the Hot Dry Rock(HDR).The core of EGS technologies is to adopt hydraulic fracturing in the reservoir to create a connected network of discrete fractures with the consideration of water as a working fluid for hydraulic fracturing and heat *** paper investigates the characteristics of water flow behaviors through a single rough fracture under different temperature and pressure conditions.A single fracture model with rough fracture surfaces is constructed and then characterized,and influences of the anisotropic factor on the average tortuosity and frictional resistance coefficient of water flow through a single fracture with rough surfaces have been compared and *** consideration of other impacting factors(temperature,pressure,fracture roughness),the impact of mass flow rate has also been *** simulation results present that changes of average tortuosity for water flow through a single rough facture are mainly affected by *** can be observed that higher temperature leads to larger average tortuosity but the frictional resistance coefficient shows an opposite *** for pressure conditions,it is found that effects of pressure on average tortuosity and frictional resistance coefficient is very small,which can be neglected under high pressure ***,the average tortuosity shows a progressively linear relationship with the mass flow *** the contrary,the frictional resistance coefficient has a negative relationship with the mass flow *** is revealed that when the mass flow rate reaches a critical point,the influences of temperature on the frictional resistance coefficient will be *** of single rough fractures with different anisotropic factors show that values of average tortuosity and frictional resistance coefficient have positive relationships with the increase

The combination of terahertz and massive multiple-input multiple-output(MIMO)is promising for meeting the increasing data rate demand of future wireless communication systems thanks to the significant band-width and spatial degrees of ***,unique channel features,such as the near-field beam split effect,make channel estimation particularly challenging in terahertz massive MIMO *** one hand,adopting the conventional angular domain transformation dictionary designed for low-frequency far-feld channels will result in degraded channel sparsity and destroyed sparsity structure in the transformed *** the other hand,most existing compressive sensing based channel estimation algorithms cannot achieve high performance and low complexity *** alleviate these issues,in this study,we first adopt frequency-dependent near-field dictionaries to maintain good channel sparsity and sparsity structure in the transformed domain under the near-field beam split ***,a deep unfolding based wideband terahertz massive MIMO channel estimation algorithm is *** each iteration of the approximate message passing-sparse Bayesian learning algorithm,the optimal update rule is learned by a deep neural network(DNN),whose architecture is customized to effectively exploit the inherent channel ***,a mixed training method based on novel designs of the DNN architecture and the loss function is developed to effectively train data from different system *** results validate the superiority of the proposed algorithm in terms of performance,complexity,and robustness.
