In the era of exponential growth of data availability,the architecture of systems has a trend toward high dimensionality,and directly exploiting holistic information for state inference is not always computationally affordable.This paper proposes a novel Bayesian filtering algorithm that considers algorithmic computational cost and estimation accuracy for high-dimensional linear systems.The high-dimensional state vector is divided into several blocks to save computation resources by avoiding the calculation of error covariance with immense dimensions.After that,two sequential states are estimated simultaneously by introducing an auxiliary variable in the new probability space,mitigating the performance degradation caused by state segmentation.Moreover,the computational cost and error covariance of the proposed algorithm are analyzed analytically to show its distinct features compared with several existing methods.Simulation results illustrate that the proposed Bayesian filtering can maintain a higher estimation accuracy with reasonable computational cost when applied to high-dimensional linear systems.

Euryarchaeota and Crenarchaeota, the two main lineages of the domain Archaea, encode different chromatin proteins and differ in the use of replicative DNA polymerases. Crenarchaea possess a single family B DNA polymerase(Pol B), which is capable of strand displacement modulated by the chromatin proteins Cren7 and Sul7 d. Euryarchaea have two distinct replicative DNA polymerases, PolB and PolD, a family D DNA polymerase. Here we characterized the strand displacement activities of Pol B and Pol D from the hyperthermophilic euryarchaeon Pyrococcus furiosus and investigated the influence of HPf A1, a homolog of eukaryotic histones from P. furiosus, on these activities. We showed that both Pol B and Pol D were efficient in strand displacement. HPf A1 inhibited DNA strand displacement by both DNA polymerases but exhibited little effect on the displacement of a RNA strand annealed to single-stranded template DNA. This is consistent with the finding that HPf A1 bound more tightly to double-stranded DNA than to a RNA:DNA hybrid. Our results suggest that, although crenarchaea and euryarchaea differ in chromosomal packaging, they share similar mechanisms in modulating strand displacement by DNA polymerases during lagging strand DNA synthesis.

Improving luminescence and thermometric performance of Ba_(2)CaWO_(6):Er^(3+) by tri-doping with Yb^(3+) and Na^(+)

The Er3+doped double perovskite Ba_(2)CaWO_(6) crystal is a promising ratiometric thermometer based on the fluorescence intensity ratio(FIR) of transitions from ^(2)H_(11/2) and ^(4)S_(3/2) to the lowered ^(4)I_(15/2) level.However,the Ca^(2+) vacancy defect caused by the charge difference between rare-earth ions and the substituted alkaline-earth ions gives rise to the non-radiative probability and limits the thermal sensitivity.Here,the up-conversion luminescence and thermometric performance of Er^(3+),Yb^(3+) dopedBa_(2)CaWO_(6) are tuned by tri-doping with alkaline ions.The Ca^(2+) vacancy defect can be eliminated by the introduction of Na^(+),which occupies the Ca^(2+) site when it is doped into Ba_(2)CaWO_(6) with Er^(3+) and Yb^(3+).On the contrary,the doping of Cs^(+) into Ba_(2)CaWO_(6) with Er^(3+) and Yb^(3+) enhances the defect concentration because it occupies the site of Ba^(2+).Thus,the tri-doping of Na^(+) reduces the non-radiative probability and enhances the quantum efficiency of Er^(3+),leading to the improvement of the thermometric sensitivity of Ba_(2)CaWO_(6).As a result,we get an excellent thermometric Ba_(2)CaWO_(6):8%Yb^(3+),3.5%Er^(3+),6%Na^(+) powder with a luminescence lifetime of 515 μs and maximum thermal sensitivity(S_(r)) of 1.45%/K,which is more than three times higher than that of the BCWO:Er^(3+) powder.

Monthly electricity consumption forecasting(ECF)plays an important role in power system operation and electricity market trading.Widespread popularity of smart meters enables collection of fine-grained load data,which provides an opportunity for improvement of monthly ECF accuracy.In this letter,a spatio-temporal granularity co-optimization-based monthly ECF framework is proposed,which aims to find an optimal combination of temporal granularity and spatial clusters to improve monthly ECF accuracy.The framework is formulated as a nested bi-layer optimization problem.A grid search method combined with a greedy clustering method is proposed to solve the optimization problem.Superiority of the proposed method has been verified on a real smart meter dataset.

Bacterial infections,especially those caused by biofilms,pose a serious threat to public health.In this work,we propose a glycopeptide-based antibiotic nano-adjuvant(GalAc-2) that can synergistically enhance the antibacterial activity of antibiotics through its biofilm inhibition activity.Our glycopeptide nanoparticles can be specifically activated by bacterial infection overexpressed lipase and sequentially enlarged by glycosyl exposure on the surface.The stability and bonding affinity of the nanoparticles were enhanced through the increase in β-sheet conformation.The bacterial growth inhibition rate of the mixture of levofloxacin(LEV) and GalAc-2 at 0.54 μg/m L was over sevenfold higher than that of LEV alone because of the electrostatic and multivalence Lec A interactions that inhibited biofilm formation on the bacterial surface.Finally,the mixture of the antibiotic with GalAc-2 significantly inhibited the abscess exposed to skin infection and significantly reduced the infiltration of immune cells.We believe that GalAc-2 can be further used to enhance broad-spectrum antibiotic sensitization and prolong the lifetime of antibiotics.

Introduction:To identify Novaferon(Nova),a novel recombinant protein of interferon(IFN)-α,antiviral activity against ancestral severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)and Omicron variant in vitro.Methods:Vero cells were infected with SARSCoV-2 and Omicron variant in a biosafety level-3 laboratory.And viral replications were accessed using quantitative real-time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR).Results:Results demonstrated that Nova has effective inhibition against ancestral SARS-CoV-2 and Omicron variant in vitro.Discussion:The in vivo effects of Nova need to be further tested in animal models.And large-scale randomized double-blind clinical trials are needed to reveal its potentially clinical application.

The mechanical properties of cemented paste backfill(CPB)determine its control effect on the goaf roof.In this study,the mechanical strength of polymer-modified cemented paste backfill(PCPB)samples was tested by uniaxial compression tests,and the failure characteristics of PCPB under the compression were analyzed.Besides,acoustic emission(AE)technology was used to monitor and record the cracking process of the PCPB sample with a curing age of 28 d,and two AE indexes(rise angle and average frequency)were used to classify the failure modes of samples under different loading processes.The results show that waterborne epoxy resin can significantly enhance the mechanical strength of PCPB samples(when the mass ratio of polymer to powder material is 0.30,the strength of PCPB samples with a curing age of 28 d is increased by 102.6%);with the increase of polymer content,the mechanical strength of PCPB samples is improved significantly in the early and middle period of curing.Under uniaxial load,the macro cracks of PCPB samples are mostly generated along the axial direction,the main crack runs through the sample,and a large number of small cracks are distributed around the main crack.The AE response of PCPB samples during the whole loading process can be divided into four periods:quiet period,slow growth period,rapid growth period,and remission period,corresponding to the micro-pore compaction stage,elastic deformation stage,plastic deformation stage,and failure instability stage of the stress-strain curve.The AE events are mainly concentrated in the plastic deformation stage;both shear failure and tensile failure occur in the above four stages,while tensile failure is dominant for PCPB samples.This study provides a reference for the safety of coal pillar recovery in pillar goaf.

In airborne gamma ray spectrum processing,different analysis methods,technical requirements,analysis models,and calculation methods need to be established.To meet the engineering practice requirements of airborne gamma-ray measurements and improve computational efficiency,an improved shuffled frog leaping algorithm-particle swarm optimization convolutional neural network(SFLA-PSO CNN)for large-sample quantitative analysis of airborne gamma-ray spectra is proposed herein.This method was used to train the weight of the neural network,optimize the structure of the network,delete redundant connections,and enable the neural network to acquire the capability of quantitative spectrum processing.In full-spectrum data processing,this method can perform the functions of energy spectrum peak searching and peak area calculations.After network training,the mean SNR and RMSE of the spectral lines were 31.27 and 2.75,respectively,satisfying the demand for noise reduction.To test the processing ability of the algorithm in large samples of airborne gamma spectra,this study considered the measured data from the Saihangaobi survey area as an example to conduct data spectral analysis.The results show that calculation of the single-peak area takes only 0.13~0.15 ms,and the average relative errors of the peak area in the U,Th,and K spectra are 3.11,9.50,and 6.18%,indicating the high processing efficiency and accuracy of this algorithm.The performance of the model can be further improved by optimizing related parameters,but it can already meet the requirements of practical engineering measurement.This study provides a new idea for the full-spectrum processing of airborne gamma rays.
