A method for predicting the water-flowing fractured zone height based on an improved key stratum theory

In the process of using the original key stratum theory to predict the height of a water-flowing fractured zone(WFZ),the influence of rock strata outside the calculation range on the rock strata within the calculation range as well as the fact that the shape of the overburden deformation area will change with the excavation length are ignored.In this paper,an improved key stratum theory(IKS theory)was proposed by fixing these two shortcomings.Then,a WFZ height prediction method based on IKS theory was established and applied.First,the range of overburden involved in the analysis was determined according to the tensile stress distribution range above the goaf.Second,the key stratum in the overburden involved in the analysis was identified through IKS theory.Finally,the tendency of the WFZ to develop upward was determined by judging whether or not the identified key stratum will break.The proposed method was applied and verified in a mining case study,and the reasons for the differences in the development patterns between the WFZs in coalfields in Northwest and East China were also fully explained by this method.

One-step synthesis of CoSn(OH)_6 nanocubes for high-performance all solid-state flexible supercapacitors

CoSn（OH）6 nanocubes were synthesized by a facile one-step co-precipitate method. Their supercapacitor performances were investigated via a traditional threeelectrode system and all solid-state flexible asymmetric supercapacitor. The electrode shows a maximum specific capacitance up to 695 F·g^-1. The flexible all solid-state asymmetric supercapacitor was fabricated based on CoSn（OH）6 nanocubes and active carbon as positive and negative electrode. The assembled asymmetric supercapacitor exhibits a specific capacitance（97.3 mF·cm^-2）, good rate/mechanical stability and a long cycling stability（5000 cycles）, demonstrating great promise for applications in all solid-state flexible supercapacitors.

Comparison of Effects of liuzijue Exercise and Conventional Respiratory Training on Patients after Cardiac Surgery:A Randomized Controlled Trial

Objective To evaluate the feasibility and safety of liuzijue exercise(LE)for the clinical effect in patients after cardiac surgery.Methods Totally 120 patients who underwent cardiac surgery and were admitted to the Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit of Nanjing Drum Tower Hospital between July and Oclober,2022 were allocated to the LE group,the conventional respiratory training(CRT)group,and the control group by a random number table at a ratio of 1:1:1;40 patients in each group.All patients received routine treatment and cardiac rehabilitation.LE group and CRT group respectively performed LE and CRT once a day for 30 min for 7 days.Control group did not receive specialized respiratory training.The forced vital capacity,forced expiratory volume in 1 s,peak inspiratory flow rate,peak expiratory flow rate,maximum inspiratory pressure,maximum expiratory pressure,modified Barthel index(MBI),and Hamilton Rating Scale for Anxiety(HAM-A)were evaluated before,after 3 and 7 days of intervention.In addition,the postoperative length of hospital stay(LOS)and the adverse events that occurred during the intervention period were compared.Results A total of 107 patients completed the study,120 patients were included in the analysis.After 3 days of intervention,the pulmonary function,respiratory muscle strength,MBI and HAM-A of all 3 groups improved compared with that before the intervention(P<0.05 or P<0.01).Compared with the control group,pulmonary function and respiratory muscle strength were significantly improved in the CRT and LE groups(P<0.05 or P<0.01).MBI and HAM-A were significantly improved in the LE group compared with the control and CRT groups(P<0.05 or P<0.01).On the 7th day after intervention,the difference was still statistically significant(P<0.01),and was significantly different from that on the 3rd day(P<0.05 or P<0.01).In addition,on the 7th day of intervention,the pulmonary function and respiratory muscle strength in the LE group were significantly improved compared with those in the CRT group(P<0.01).MBI and

Sodium-ion batteries(SIBs)present great appeal in various energy storage systems,especifically for stationary grid storage,on account of the abundance of sources and low cost.Unfortunately,the commercialization of SIBs is mainly limited by available electrode materials,especially for the cathodes.Prussian blue analogs(PBAs),emerge as a promising alternative for their structural feasibility in the application of SIBs.Decreasing the defects(vacancies and coordinated water)is an effective strategy to achieve superior electrochemical performance during the synthetic processes.Herein,we summarize crystal structures,synthetic methods,electrochemical mechanisms,and the influences of synthesis conditions of PBAs in detail.This comprehensive overview on the current research progresses of PBAs will give guides and directions to solve the existing problems for their application in SIBs.

Rheumatoid arthritis(RA)is a relatively common inflammatory disease that affects the synovial tissue,eventually results in joints destruction and even long-term disability.Although Janus kinase inhibitors(Jakinibs)show a rapid efficacy and are becoming the most successful agents in RA therapy,high dosing at frequent interval and severe toxicities cannot be avoided.Here,we developed a new type of fully compatible nanocarriers based on recombinant chimeric proteins with outstanding controlled release of upadacitinib.In addition,the fluorescent protein component of the nanocarriers enabled noninvasive fluorescence imaging of RA lesions,thus allowing real-time detection of RA therapy.Using rat models,the nanotherapeutic is shown to be superior to free upadacitinib,as indicated by extended circulation time and sustained bioefficacy.Strikingly,this nanosystem possesses an ultralong half-life of 45 h and a bioavailability of 4-times higher than pristine upadacitinib,thus extending the dosing interval from one day to 2 weeks.Side effects such as over-immunosuppression and leukocyte levels reduction were significantly mitigated.This smart strategy boosts efficacy,safety and visuality of Jakinibs in RA therapy,and potently enables customized designs of nanoplatforms for other therapeutics.

Gonadal somatic cells are the main players in gonad development and are important for sex determination and germ cell development.Here,using a time-series single-cell RNA sequencing(scRNA-seq)strategy,we analyzed fetal germ cells(FGCs)and gonadal somatic cells in human embryos and fetuses.Clustering analysis of testes and ovaries revealed several novel cell subsets,including POU5F1^(+)SPARC^(+)FGCs and KRT19^(+) somatic cells.Furthermore,our data indicated that the bone morphogenetic protein(BMP)signaling pathway plays cell type-specific and developmental stage-specific roles in testis development and promotes the gonocyte-to-spermatogonium transition(GST)in late-stage testicular mitotic arrest FGCs.Intriguingly,testosterone synthesis function transitioned from fetal Sertoli cells to adult Leydig cells in a stepwise manner.In our study,potential interactions between gonadal somatic cells were systematically explored and we identified cell type-specific developmental defects in both FGCs and gonadal somatic cells in a Turner syndrome embryo(45,XO).Our work provides a blueprint of the complex yet highly ordered development of and the interactions among human FGCs and gonadal somatic cells.

Lanthanide doped fluorosilicate glass-ceramics:A review on experimental and theoretical progresses

Significant developments have been made in the past few decades for lanthanide(Ln)ions doped fluorosilicate glass-ceramics(Flusi-GCs).As novel generation of luminescence materials with a wide range of applications,Flusi-GCs as a single host combine the advantages of glass and ceramics/crystals as well as fluorides and silicates.In this review,the chemical design principles and experimental procedures of Flusi-GCs are summarized in detail.Flusi-GCs are categorized as those containing PbxCd_(1-x)F_(2),RF_(3)(R=Y,La,Gd),MF_(2)(M=Ca,Sr,Ba),xMF_(2)-yRF_(3)(R=Y,La-Lu),mAF-nRF_(3)(A=li,Na,K),KTF_(3)(T=Zn,Mn)and K2 SiF6 nanocrystals(NCs).Theoretical breakthroughs mainly by molecular dynamic(MD)simulation have been recapitulated as efficient routes for composition-design,nano-crystallization-prediction,and performance-optimization of Flusi-GCs containing target fluoride NCs.Essential research progresses pertaining photonic applications have been made in random lasers,communication amplifiers,optical fibers,spectral converters,white light-emitting-diodes(WLEDs),and thermal sensors.In the end,we propose three future research directions for Flusi-GCs.

Simulation and analysis of the carrying capacity for road networks using a grid-based approach

The number of vehicles that a road network can carry is limited.When the limit is exceeded,the network system is not able to function effectively.In this paper,an updated cellular automaton model for grid networks with all-way stop-controlled intersections is proposed to simulate the network level critical density and carrying capacity under different conditions,which essentially indicates the limit number of vehicles that the network can handle before going into gridlock.In the proposed model,two update rules,including lane-changing and the longitudinal location update,are adopted to describe the vehicle’s movements on road segments according to the driving condition on the road and the vehicle’s direction in the downstream intersection.The vehicle’s movements in intersection areas are prioritized based on vehicle’s position,so as to prevent collisions within the intersection area.The simulation results show that an increase in network size is able to expand the carrying capacity of a road network,whereas the expansion rate is lower than the change rate in the network size.The carrying capacity is also associated with the structure of road network.The carrying capacity is inversely proportional to the number of intersections,and proportional to the length of the road in the network.Also,optimizing the origin-destination(O-D)distribution can increase the carrying capacity of an urban road network.

Effect of Sodium Salicylate on Calcium Currents and Exocytosis in Cochlear Inner Hair Cells:Implications for Tinnitus Generation

Sodium salicylate is an anti-inflammatory medication with a side-effect of tinnitus.Here,we used mouse cochlear cultures to explore the effects of salicylate treatment on cochlear inner hair cells(IHCs).We found that IHCs showed significant damage after exposure to a high concentration of salicylate.Whole-cell patch clamp recordings showed that 1–5 mmol/L salicylate did not affect the exocytosis of IHCs,indicating that IHCs are not involved in tinnitus generation by enhancing their neuronal input.Instead,salicylate induced a larger peak amplitude,a more negative half-activation voltage,and a steeper slope factor of Ca^(2+)current.Using noise analysis of Ca^(2+)tail currents and qRT-PCR,we further found that salicylate increased the number of Ca^(2+)channels along with CaV1.3 expression.All these changes could act synergistically to enhance the Ca^(2+)influx into IHCs.Inhibition of intracellular Ca^(2+)overload significantly attenuated IHC death after 10 mmol/L salicylate treatment.These results implicate a cellular mechanism for tinnitus generation in the peripheral auditory system.

Recent advances in promising drugs for primary prevention of gastroesophageal variceal bleeding with cirrhotic portal hypertension

Background:Gastroesophageal variceal bleeding is one of the most severe complications of patients with cirrhosis.Although primary prevention drugs,including non-selectiveβ-blockers,have effectively reduced the incidence of bleeding,their efficacy is limited due to side effects and related contraindications.With recent advances in precision medicine,precise drug treatment provides better treatment efficacy.Data sources:literature search was conducted in PubMed,MEDliNE and Web of Science for relevant articles published up to May 2022.Information on clinical trials was obtained from https://clinicaltrials.gov/and http://***/.Results:The in-depth understanding of the pathogenesis and advances of portal hypertension has enabled the discovery of multiple molecular targets for promising drugs.According to the site of action,these drugs could be classified into four classes:intrahepatic,extrahepatic,both intrahepatic and extrahepatic targets and others.All these classes of drugs offer advantages over traditional treatments in prevention of gastroesophageal variceal bleeding in patients with cirrhotic portal hypertension.Conclusions:This review classified and summarized the promising drugs,which prevent gastroesophageal variceal bleeding by targeting specific markers of pathogenesis of portal hypertension,demonstrating the significance of using the precision medicine strategy to discover and develop promising drugs for the primary prevention of gastroesophageal variceal bleeding in patients with cirrhotic portal hypertension.
