Fast spreading of surface ozone in both temporal and spatial scale in Pearl River Delta

Surface ozone(O_(3))is a major air pollutant and draw increasing attention in the Pearl River Delta(PRD),***,we characterize the spatial-temporal variability of ozone based on a dataset obtained from 57 national monitoring sites during *** results show that:(1)the seasonal difference of ozone distribution in the inland and coastal areas was significant,which was largely affected by the wind pattern reversals related to the East Asian monsoon,and local ozone production and destruction;(2)the daily maximum 8hr average(MDA8 O_(3))showed an overall upward trend by 1.11 ppbv/*** the trends in the nine cities varied differently by ranging from-0.12 to 2.51 ppbv/*** hot spots of ozone were spreading to southwestern areas from the central areas since *** ozone is becoming a year-round air pollution problem with the pollution season extending to winter and spring in PRD region.(3)at the central and southwestern PRD cities,the percentage of exceedance days from the continuous type(defined as≥3 days)was ***,the ozone concentration of continuous type was much higher than that of scattered exceedance type(line since2017,the total number of exceedance days during the continuous type is *** results indicate that it is more difficult to eliminate the continuous exceedance than the scatter pollution days and highlight the great challenge in mitigation of O_(3)pollution in these cities.

Prediction and interpretation of photocatalytic NO removal on g-C_(3)N_(4)-based catalysts using machine learning

Predictive modeling of photocatalytic NO removal is highly desirable for efficient air pollution ***,great challenges remain in precisely predicting photocatalytic performance and understanding interactions of diverse features in the catalytic ***,a dataset of g-C_(3) N_(4)-based catalysts with 255 data points was collected from peer-reviewed publications and machine learning(ML)model was proposed to predict the NO removal *** result shows that the Gradient Boosting Decision Tree(GBDT)demonstrated the greatest prediction accuracy with R 2 of 0.999 and 0.907 on the training and test data,*** SHAP value and feature importance analysis revealed that the empirical categories for NO removal rate,in the order of importance,were catalyst characteristics>reaction process>preparation ***,the partial dependence plots broke the ML black box to further quantify the marginal contributions of the input features(e.g.,doping ratio,flow rate,and pore volume)to the model output *** ML approach presents a pure data-driven,interpretable framework,which provides new insights into the influence of catalyst characteristics,reaction process,and preparation conditions on NO removal.

By anchoring Tb^(3+)ions on its free carboxyl groups of the nanocaged NiMOF,a dual-emission self-calibrating sensor of Tb^(3+)@NiMOF was fabricated through coordination post-synthetic modification(PSM)*** Tb^(3+)ions as the secondary fluorescent signal and sensing active sites,Tb^(3+)@NiMOF presents great potentials in visually and efficiently monitoring EPI in serum,with high sensitivity and selectivity,fast response,excellent recyclable,and the low detection limit(LOD,3.06 ng/mL).Furthermore,a tandem combinational logic gate based intelligent detection system was constructed to improve the practicability and convenience of epinephrine(EPI)detection in serum by comparing the light emitted colour with the series standard colour cards preset in the *** work provides a promising approach of developing metal-organic frameworks(MOFs)based self-calibrating sensors for intelligent detection of bioactive molecules.

With the loss of substantial natural wetlands in coastal zones,artificial wetlands provide alternative habitats for many *** management of artificial wetlands used by shorebirds plays an important role in maintaining the stability of shorebird *** tracking technique can obtain high-precision location information of individuals day and night,providing a good technical support for the study of quantitative relationship between waterfowls and their *** this study,satellite tracking method,Remote Sensing(RS)and Geographic Information System(GIS)technology were used to analyze the activity pattern and habitat utilization characteristics of Pied Avocet during breeding period in an artificial wetland complex in the Yellow River Delta(YRD),*** results showed that the breeding Pied Avocets had a small range of activity,with a total core and main home range of 33.10 km^(2) and 216.30 km^(2),*** species tended to forage in the pond and salt pan during the day and night,respectively,with an unfixed staying time in the breeding *** distance between breeding ground and feeding ground was less than 6 *** is emphasized that in addition to improving the conditions of the remaining natural habitats,effective managing artificial habitats is a priority for shorebird *** research could provide reference for the management of artificial wetlands in coastal zones and supply technique support for the protection of shorebirds and their habitats,and alleviate human-bird conflicts and sustainable development of coastal zones.

Impacts of Aggregation Methods and Trophospecies Number on the Structure and Function of Marine Food Webs

Aggregation of species with similar ecological properties is one of the effective methods to simplify food web ***,species aggregation will affect not only the complexity of modeling process but also the accuracy of models’*** of aggregation methods and the number of trophospecies are the keys to study the simplification of food *** this study,three aggregation methods,including taxonomic aggregation(TA),structural equivalence aggregation(SEA),and self-organizing maps(SOM),were analyzed and compared with the linear inverse model–Markov Chain Monte Carlo(liM-MCMC)*** of aggregation methods and trophospecies number on food webs were evaluated based on the robustness and unitless of ecological net-work *** showed that aggregation method of SEA performed better than the other two methods in estimating food web structure and function *** effects of aggregation methods were driven by the differences in species aggregation principles,which will alter food web structure and function through the redistribution of energy *** to the results of mean absolute percentage error(MAPE)which can be applied to evaluate the accuracy of the model,we found that MAPE in food web indices will increase with the reducing trophospecies number,and MAPE in food web function indices were smaller and more stable than those in food web structure ***,trade-off between simplifying food webs and reflecting the status of ecosystem should be con-sidered in food web *** findings highlight the importance of aggregation methods and trophospecies number in the analy-sis of food web *** study provided a framework to explore the extent to which food web models are affected by dif-ferent species aggregation,and will provide scientific basis for the construction of food webs.

Single-crystal Ni-rich cathodes are a promising candidate for high-energy lithium-ion batteries due to their higher structural and cycling stability than polycrystalline ***,the phase evolution and capacity degradation of these single-crystal cathodes during continuous lithation/delithation cycling remains *** the mapping relationship between the macroscopic electrochemical properties and the material physicochemical properties is ***,we investigate the correlation between the physical-chemical characteristics,phase transition,and capacity decay using capacity differential curve feature identification and in-situ X-ray spectroscopic *** systematically clarify the dominant mechanism of phase evolution in aging *** high cut-off voltages can mitigate the slow kinetic and electrochemical properties of single-crystal *** also find that second-order differential capacity discharge characteristic curves can be used to identify the crystal structure disorder of Ni-rich *** findings constitute a step forward in elucidating the correlation between the electrochemical extrinsic properties and the physicochemical intrinsic properties and provide new perspectives for failure analysis of layered electrode materials.

Specialized households serve as the primary units within specialized villages in China,and their capacity to withstand risks and external influences significantly shapes the future trajectory of specialized villages and the overall vitality of the rural *** this study,we established a measurement indicator system based on the definition of specialized households’resilience,elucidating the logical connection between specialized households’resilience and rural industrial development in *** musical instrument industry in Lankao County,Henan Province of China,was employed as a case;survey data,the entropy method,and an obstacle diagnosis model were used to examine how instrument production specialized households responded to the challenges posed by Corona Virus Disease 2019(COVID-19)and the tightening of national environmental protection policies,yielding the following key findings:1)there exists substantial variation in the comprehensive resilience levels among different specialized households;2)the ability to learn and adapt is the most significant contributor to the overall resilience level of specialized households;3)technological proficiency and access to skilled talent emerge as pivotal factors influencing specialized households’resilience;4)the positioning of specialized households within the industrial supply chain and the stability of their income have a direct bearing on their resilience *** influence of specialized households’resilience on industrial development primarily manifests in the following ways:stronger resilience correlates with increased stability in production and sales,fostering a more proactive approach to future ***,heightened exposure to the external macroeconomic environment can lead to a higher rate of export *** enhance the development resilience of entities like specialized households and family farms,and to invigorate rural economic development,escalating investments in rural science and technology

Numerical investigation on thermomechanical behavior of alumina–calcium hexaluminate refractories for purging plug

Alumina–spinel refractories used in slit-type purging plugs are susceptible to cross-sectional damage,resulting in a serious mismatch between their service life and that of ***–calcium hexaluminate refractories have gradually become the new trend in purging plug materials with the development of refining *** thermomechanical damage of slit-type purging plugs with alumina–calcium hexaluminate refractory was investigated by the thermo-solid coupling *** with the polynomial fitting and design of experiments methods,the influence of thermophysical parameters on temperature and thermal stress of alumina–calcium hexaluminate refractories for purging plugs was systematically *** results show that the maximum thermal stress of the purging plugs appears during the stages of steel transporting and stirring,and the vulnerable parts are located above Y=0.323 *** thermal conductivity and the coefficient of thermal expansion of the material are the most sensitive parameters to the temperature and thermal stress inside the structure,*** addition of more calcium hexaluminate can relieve the stress concentration and large deformation around the ***,when the content of calcium hexaluminate is 47 wt.%and in the form of aggregate-binder,the temperature and thermal stress distribution inside the refractory are optimal,which can effectively improve the service life of the slit-type purging plug.

Molecular investigation into the transformation of recalcitrant dissolved organic sulfur in refinery sour water during stripping process

Refinery sour water primarily originates from the tops of towers in various units and coker condensate,and cannot be discharged directly to a wastewater treatment plant due to high levels of chemical oxygen demand(COD)and organic sulfur *** after the recovery of H_(2)S from the sour water by the stripping process,the effluent still contains a high concentration of dissolved organic sulfur(DOS),which can have a huge bad *** chemical composition of dissolved organic matter(DOM)in refinery wastewater has been extensively studied,the investigation of recalcitrant DOS from sour waters remains *** the present study,chemical composition of sour water DOMs(especially DOS)was investigated using fluorescence spectroscopy(excitation-emission matrix,EEM)and mass spectrometry,including gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(GC-MS)and high-resolution Orbitrap *** GC-MS and EEM results showed that volatile and low-aromaticity compounds were effectively removed during the stripping process,while compounds with high hydrophilicity and humification degree were found to be more *** Orbitrap MS results showed that weak-polar oxygenated sulfur compounds were easier to be removed than oxygenated ***,the effluent still contained significant amounts of sulfur-containing compounds with multiple sulfur atoms,particularly in the form of highly unsaturated and aromatic *** Orbitrap MS/MS results of CHOS-containing compounds from the effluent indicate that the sulfur atoms may exist as sulfonates,disulfide bonds,*** the composition and structure of sour water DOS is crucial for the development of effective treatment processes that can target polysulfide compounds and minimize their impact on the environment.
