Study on metal recovery process and kinetics of oxidative leaching from spent liFePO_(4)li-batteries

A green environmental protection and enhanced leaching process was proposed to recover all elements from spent lithium iron phosphate(liFePO_(4)) lithium *** order to reduce the influence of Al impurity in the recovery process,NaOH was used to remove *** impurity removal,the spent liFePO_(4) cathode material was used as raw material under the H_(2)SO_(4) system,and the pressure oxidation leaching process was adopted to achieve the preferential leaching of *** E-pH diagram of the Fe-P-Al-H_(2)O system can determine the stable region of each element in the recovery process of spent liFePO_(4)*** the optimal conditions(500 r·min^(-1.,1. h,363.1. K,0.4 MPa,the liquid-solid ratio was 4:1.ml·g^(-1.and the acid-material ratio was 0.29),the leaching rate of li was 99.24%,Fe,Al,and Ti were 0.1.%,2.07%,and 0.03%,*** Fe and P were precipitated and recovered as FePO_(4)·2H_(2)*** kinetic analysis shows that the process of high-pressure acid leaching of spent liFePO_(4) materials depends on the surface chemical *** the life cycle assessment(LCA)of the spent liFePO_(4) whole recovery process,eight midpoint impact categories were selected to assess the impact of recovery *** results can provide basic environmental information on production process for recycling industry.

Metformin alleviates spinal cord injury by inhibiting nerve cell ferroptosis through upregulation of heme oxygenase-1.expression

Previous studies have reported upregulation of heme oxygenase-1.in different central nervous system injury *** oxygenase-1.plays a critical anti-inflammatory role and is essential for regulating cellular redox *** is a classic drug used to treat type 2 diabetes that can inhibit *** studies have shown that,when used to treat cardiovascular and digestive system diseases,metformin can also upregulate heme oxygenase-1.***,we hypothesized that heme oxygenase-1.plays a significant role in mediating the beneficial effects of metformin on neuronal ferroptosis after spinal cord *** test this,we first performed a bioinformatics analysis based on the GEO database and found that heme oxygenase-1.was upregulated in the lesion of rats with spinal cord ***,we confirmed this finding in a rat model of T9 spinal cord compression injury that exhibited spinal cord nerve cell *** intraperitoneal injection of metformin for 1. days was found to both upregulate heme oxygenase-1.expression and reduce neuronal ferroptosis in rats with spinal cord ***,we used a lentivirus vector to knock down heme oxygenase-1.expression in the spinal cord,and found that this significantly reduced the effect of metformin on ferroptosis after spinal cord *** together,these findings suggest that metformin inhibits neuronal ferroptosis after spinal cord injury,and that this effect is partially dependent on upregulation of heme oxygenase-1.

Accelerating lithium-sulfur battery reaction kinetics and inducing 3D deposition of li_(2)S using interactions between Fe_(3)Se_(4)and lithium polysulfides

Although lithium-sulfur batteries(LSBs)exhibit high theoretical energy density,their practical application is hindered by poor conductivity of the sulfur cathode,the shuttle effect,and the irreversible deposition of li_(2)*** address these issues,a novel composite,using electrospinning technology,consisting of Fe_(3)Se_(4)and porous nitrogen-doped carbon nanofibers was designed for the interlayer of *** porous carbon nanofiber structure facilitates the transport of ions and electrons,while the Fe_(3)Se_(4)material adsorbs lithium polysulfides(liPSs)and accelerates its catalytic conversion ***,the Fe_(3)Se_(4)material interacts with soluble liPSs to generate a new polysulfide intermediate,li_(x)FeS_(y)complex,which changes the electrochemical reaction pathway and facilitates the three-dimensional deposition of li_(2)S,enhancing the reversibility of *** designed LSB demonstrates a high specific capacity of1.29.6 mA h g^(-1.in the first cycle at 0.2 *** rate performance is also excellent,maintaining an ultra-high specific capacity of 779.7 mA h g^(-1.at a high rate of 8 *** investigation explores the mechanism of the interaction between the interlayer and liPSs,and provides a new strategy to regulate the reaction kinetics and li_(2)S deposition in LSBs.

Detecting bulk and edge exceptional points in non-Hermitian systems through generalized Petermann factors

Non-orthogonality in non-Hermitian quantum systems gives rise to tremendous exotic quantum phenomena,which can be fundamentally traced back to *** this paper,we introduce an interesting quantity(denoted asη)as a new variant of the Petermann factor to directly and efficiently measure non-unitarity and the associated non-Hermitian *** tuning the model parameters of underlying non-Hermitian systems,we find that the discontinuity of bothηand its first-order derivative(denoted as■η)pronouncedly captures rich physics that is fundamentally caused by *** concretely,in the 1. non-Hermitian topological systems,two mutually orthogonal edge states that are respectively localized on two boundaries become non-orthogonal in the vicinity of discontinuity ofηas a function of the model parameter,which is dubbed"edge state transition".Through theoretical analysis,we identify that the appearance of edge state transition indicates the existence of exceptional points(EPs)in topological edge *** the discontinuity of■η,we investigate a two-level non-Hermitian model and establish a connection between the points of discontinuity of■ηand EPs of bulk *** studying this connection in more general lattice models,we find that some models have discontinuity of■η,implying the existence of EPs in bulk states.

Role of methoxy and C_(α)-based substituents in electrochemical oxidation mechanisms and bond cleavage selectivity of β-O-4 lignin model compounds

In order to better understand the specific substituent effects on the electrochemical oxidation process of β-O-4 bond, a series of methoxyphenyl type β-O-4 dimer model compounds with different localized methoxyl groups, including 2-(2-methoxyphenoxy)-1.phenylethanone, 2-(2-methoxyphenoxy)-1.phenylethanol, 2-(2-methoxyphenoxy)-1.(4-methoxyphenyl)ethanone, 2-(2-methoxyphenoxy)-1.(4-methoxyphenyl)ethanol, 2-(2,6-dimethoxyphenoxy)-1.(4-methoxyphenyl)ethanone, 2-(2,6-dimethoxyphenoxy)-1.(4-methoxyphenyl)ethanol have been selected and their electrochemical properties have been studied experimentally by cyclic voltammetry, and FT-IR spectroelectrochemistry. Combining with electrolysis products distribution analysis and density functional theory calculations, oxidation mechanisms of all six model dimers have been explored. In particular, a total effect from substituents of both para-methoxy(on the aryl ring closing to Cα) and Cα-OH on the oxidation mechanisms has been clearly observed, showing a significant selectivity on the Cα-Cβbond cleavage induced by electrochemical oxidations.

Mechanical reliable,NIR light-induced rapid self-healing hydrogel electrolyte towards flexible zinc-ion hybrid supercapacitors with low-temperature adaptability and long service life

Hydrogel electrolytes hold great potential in flexible zinc ion supercapacitors(ZICs)due to their high conductivity,good safety,and ***,freezing of electrolytes at low temperature(subzero)leads to drastic reduction in ionic conductivity and mechanical properties that deteriorates the performance of flexible ***,the mechanical fracture during arbitrary deformations significantly prunes out the lifespan of the flexible ***,a Zn^(2+)and li^(+)co-doped,polypyrrole-dopamine decorated Sb_(2)S_(3)incorporated,and polyvinyl alcohol/poly(N-(2-hydroxyethyl)acrylamide)double-network hydrogel electrolyte is constructed with favorable mechanical reliability,anti-freezing,and self-healing *** addition,it delivers ultra-high ionic conductivity of 8.6 and 3.7 S m^(-1.at 20 and−30°C,respectively,and displays excellent mechanical properties to withstand tensile stress of 1.85 MPa with tensile elongation of 760%,together with fracture energy of 5.1. MJ m^(-3).Notably,the fractured hydrogel electrolyte can recover itself after only 90 s of infrared illumination,while regaining 83%of its tensile strain and almost 1.0%of its ionic conductivity during−30–60°***,ZICs coupled with this hydrogel electrolyte not only show a wide voltage window(up to 2 V),but also provide high energy density of 230 Wh kg^(-1.at power density of 500 W kg^(-1.with a capacity retention of 86.7%after 20,000 cycles under 20°***,the ZICs are able to retain excellent capacity even under various mechanical deformation at−30°*** contribution will open up new insights into design of advanced wearable flexible electronics with environmental adaptability and long-life span.

The development of aqueous battery with dual mechanisms is now arousing more and more *** dual mechanisms of Zn^(2+)(de)intercalation and I^(-)/I_(2)redox bring unexpected ***,differing from previous studies using Zn I_(2)additive,this work designs an aqueous Bi I_(3)-Zn battery with selfsupplied I^(-).Ex situ tests reveal the conversion of Bi I_(3)into Bi(discharge)and Bi OI(charge)at the 1.t cycle and the dissolved I^(-)in *** active I^(-)species enhances the specific capacity and discharge medium voltage of electrode as well as improves the generation of Zn dendrite and ***,the porous hard carbon is introduced to enhance the electronic/ionic conductivity and adsorb iodine species,proven by experimental and theoretical ***,the well-designed Bi I_(3)-Zn battery delivers a high reversible capacity of 1.2 m A h g^(-1.at 0.2 A g^(-1.,an excellent rate capability with 88 m A h g^(-1.at 1. A g^(-1.,and an impressive cyclability with 63%capacity retention over 20 K cycles at 1. A g^(-1..An excellent electrochemical performance is obtained even at a high mass loading of 6 mg cm^(-2).Moreover,a flexible quasi-solid-state Bi I_(3)-Zn battery exhibits satisfactory battery *** work provides a new idea for designing high-performance aqueous battery with dual mechanisms.

The lithium(li)metal anode is widely regarded as an ideal anode material for high-energy-density ***,uncontrolled li dendrite growth often leads to unfavorable interfaces and low Coulombic efficiency(CE),limiting its broader ***,an ether-based electrolyte(termed FGN-1.2)is formulated,exhibiting ultra-stable li metal anodes through the incorporation of liFSI and liNO3 as dual *** synergistic effect of the dual salts facilitates the formation of a highly robust SEI film with fast li+transport ***,li||Cu half cells exhibit an average CE reaching up to 99.56%.In particular,pouch cells equipped with high-loading lithium cobalt oxide(LCO,3 mAh cm^(-2))cathodes,ultrathin li chips(25μm),and lean electrolytes(5 g Ah-1.demonstrate outstanding cycling performance,retaining 80%capacity after 1.5 *** address the gas issue in the cathode under high voltage,cathode additives 1.3,6-tricyanohexane is incorporated with FGN-1.2;the resulting high-voltage LCO||li(4.4 V)pouch cells can cycle steadily over 93 *** study demonstrates that,even with the use of ether-based electrolytes,it is possible to simultaneously achieve significant improvements in both high li utilization and electrolyte tolerance to high voltage by exploring appropriate functional additives for both the cathode and anode.

The appropriate regulation of band structure is an effective strategy in constructing efficient photocatalytic *** photocatalytic system mainly employs powder photocatalysts,which makes their recovery reliant on expensive separation processes and severely limits their industrial ***,we constructed a novel CdS/Ni_(3)S_(2)heterostructure using free-standing and flexible nickel fiber paper as the *** regulated energy band structure achieves effective electron–hole *** as-synthesized flexible photocatalyst exhibits considerable photocatalytic activity toward the H_(2)evolution reaction under visible-light irradiation,with an H_(2)production rate of5.63μmol·cm^(-2)·h^(-1.(1..1.mmol·g^(-1.cat·h^(-1.according to the catalyst loading content).Additionally,the otherwisewasted excited holes simultaneously drive organic transformations to yield value-added organic products,thus markedly improving the photocatalytic H_(2)evolution *** a photocatalytic system is scaled up further,where a self-supported 20 cm×25 cm sample achieves a champion H_(2)production rate of 60-80μmol·h^(-1.under practical sun *** newly developed self-supported photocatalyst produces opportunities for practical solar H2production with biomass upgrading.
