The value of ultrasound elastography in differential diagnosisof superficial lymph nodes

The study evaluated the value of ultrasound elastography in differentiating the benign and malignant superﬁcial lymph nodes.A total of 112 subjects,including 82 patients with enlarged lymph nodes and 30 healthy volunteers,were *** the subjects were examined by B-mode ultrasonography,power Doppler ultrasonogra-phy and *** of the patients were histo-pathologically conﬁrmed by needle aspiration cytology and some patients were diagnosed by clinical data combined with follow-upﬁ*** sensitivity,speci-ﬁcity and accuracy of B-mode ultrasonography were 59.8%,76.5%and 67.1%,those of the bloodﬂow classiﬁcation by power Doppler ultrasonography 77.0%,82.3%and 79.4%and those of elastographic classiﬁcation 74.7%,97.1%and 84.5%,*** elasticity of the lymph nodes was quantitatively measured and deﬁned as stiffness *** the stiffness value of 2.395 was taken as the cutoff point,the sensitivity and speciﬁcity of elastography were 78.41%and 98.51%,and the Youden index reached the highest,with the value being *** stiffness values of two indeterminate benign lymph nodes,the elastrographicﬁndings of which were rated as patterns 2 and 3,were below the cutoff *** elastographicﬁndings of 10 malignant lymph nodes were also classiﬁed as pattern 2 or *** one of them had the stiffness values below the cutoff *** was concluded that ultrasound elastography is a novel,noninvasive and convenient tool for the differentiation of the nature of the superﬁcial lymph nodes in clinical practice.

Tomato Fruit Development and Ripening Are Altered by the Silencing of LeEIN2 Gene

Loss-of-function ethylene insensitive 2 （EIN2） mutations showed ethylene insensitivity in Arabidopsis, which indicated an essential role of EIN2 in ethylene signaling. However, the function of EIN2 in fruit ripening has not been investigated. To gain a better understanding of EIN2, the temporal regulation of LeEIN2 expres- sion during tomato fruit development was analyzed. The expression of LeEIN2 was constant at different stages of fruit development, and was not regulated by ethylene. Moreover, LeEIN2-silenced tomato fruits were developed using a virus-induced gene silencing fruit system to study the role of LeEIN2 in tomato fruit ripening. Silenced fruits had a delay in fruit development and ripening, related to greatly descended expression of ethylene-related and ripening-related genes in comparison with those of control fruits. These results suggested LeEIN2 positively mediated ethylene signals during tomato development. In addition, there were fewer seeds and Iocules in the silenced fruit than those in the control fruit, like the phenotype of parthenocarpic tomato fruit. The content of auxin and the expression of auxin-regulated gene were declined in silenced fruit, which indicated that EIN2 might be important for crosstalk between ethylene and auxin hormones.

By using solvothermal method,a one-dimensional chain compound[KEu_(2)(FDCA)_(3)(H_(2)O)_(9)·0.5(FDCA)](1)was ***-crystal X-ray diffraction data reveal that 1 crystallizes in monoclinic system,space group P21/n with a=12.1996(1),b=18.6454(2),c=17.7123(2)Å,β=98.8460(10)°,Dc=1.753 g/cm3,Z=2,V=3981.03(7)Å3,R=0.0544 and wR=0.1511 for 7886 observed reflections with I>2σ(I).In 1,three FDCA2–ligands construct a“23-crown-9-like”structure as the second building units(SBUs)to further form an infinite 1D ***,the fluorescent result reveals that compound 1 can selectively and sensitively sense Fe^(3+)by the fluorescence quenching.

In this study,we analyzed 100 three-component strong ground motion records observed within 200 km of the causative fault of the 6 February 2023 M_(W)7.8 Pazarcık(Kahramanmaraş)Earthquake in SE Tü*** wavelet method was utilized to identify and analyze the characteristics of pulse-like ground motions in the near-fault region,while considering the uncertainty of the pulse orientation during the *** investigation focused on the effects of the focal mechanism and rupture process on the spatial distribution,pulse orientation,and maximum pulse direction of the observed pulse-like ground *** also analyzed the amplitude and period of the observed ground pulses and the effect of long-period amplification on the ground motion response *** results indicated the following:(1)A total of 21 typical ground velocity pulses were observed during this earthquake,exhibiting complex characteristics due to the influence of the strike-slip mechanism and rupture *** ground pulses(17 out of 21)were recorded within 20 km of the fault,in a wide range of orientations,including normal and parallel to the fault *** waveforms exhibited unidirectional features,indicating the effects of left-lateral fault *** pulses observed more than 20 km from the fault were mainly oriented normal to the *** waveforms were bidirectional with double-or multi-round trips as a result of rupture directivity.(2)The amplitudes of the observed pulses ranged from 30.5 to 220.0 cm/s,with the largest peak velocity of 220.0 cm/s observed at Station *** pulse periods ranged from 2.3 to 14.5 s,with the longest pulse period of 14.5 s observed at Station *** amplitude and period of the pulses observed during this earthquake were comparable to those of similar-magnitude global *** amplitude of the pulses decreased significantly with increasing fault distance,whereas the pulse period was not significantly affected by the fault distance.(3)Com

Using irrigation intervals to optimize water-use efficiency and maize yield in Xinjiang,northwest China

Worldwide, scarce water resources and substantial food demands require efficient water use and high *** study investigated whether irrigation frequency can be used to adjust soil moisture to increase grain yield and water use efficiency(WUE) of high-yield maize under conditions of mulching and drip irrigation.A field experiment was conducted using three irrigation intervals in 2016: 6, 9, and 12 days(labeled D6, D9, and D12) and five irrigation intervals in 2017: 3, 6, 9, 12, and 15 days(D3, D6, D9, D12, and D15).In Xinjiang, an optimal irrigation quota is 540 mm for high-yield *** D3, D6, D9, D12, and D15 irrigation intervals gave grain yields of 19.7, 19.1–21.0, 18.8–20.0, 18.2–19.2, and 17.2 Mg ha^-1 and a WUE of 2.48, 2.53–2.80, 2.47–2.63, 2.34–2.45, and 2.08 kg m-3, *** D6 led to the highest soil water storage, but evapotranspiration and soil-water evaporation were lower than other *** results show that irrigation interval D6 can help maintain a favorable soil-moisture environment in the upper-60-cm soil layer, reduce soilwater evaporation and evapotranspiration, and produce the highest yield and *** this arid region and in other regions with similar soil and climate conditions, a similar irrigation interval would thus be beneficial for adjusting soil moisture to increase maize yield and WUE under conditions of mulching and drip irrigation.

The role of transcriptional factor D-site-binding protein in circadian CCL2 gene expression in anti-Thy1 nephritis

AIM： To comparatively study the preventive effect of gelatinizedly-modified chitosan film on peritoneal adhesions induced by four different factors in rats. METHODS： Chitosan was chemically modified by gelatinization, and made into films of 60 μm in thickness, and sterilized. Two hundred Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into five groups, Sham-operation group （group A）, wound-induced adhesion group （group B）, purified talc-induced adhesion group （group C）, vascular ligation-induced adhesion group （group D）, and infection-induced adhesion group （group E）, respectively. In each group, the rats were treated with different adhesion-inducing methods at the cecum of vermiform processes and then were divided into control and experimental subgroups. Serous membrane surface of vermiform processes were covered with the films in the experimental subgroups, and no films were used in the control subgroups. After 2 and 4 wk of treatments, the abdominal cavities were reopened and the adhesive severity was graded blindly according to Bhatia＇s method. The cecum of vermiform processes were resected for hydroxyproline （OHP） measurement and pathological examination. RESULTS： Adhesion severity and OHP level： After 2 and 4 wk of the treatments, in the experimental subgroups, the adhesions were significantly lighter and the OHP levels were significantly lower than those of the control subgroups in group B （2 wk： 0.199 ± 0.026 vs 0.285 ± 0.041 μg/mg pr, P 〈 0.001; 4 wk： 0.183 ± 0.034 vs 0.276 ± 0.03 μg/mg pr, P 〈 0.001）, D （2 wk： 0.216 ± 0.036 vs 0.274 ± 0.040 μg/mg pr, P = 0.004; 4 wk： 0.211 ± 0.044 vs 0.281 ± 0.047 μg/mg pr, P = 0.003） and E （2 wk： 0.259 ± 0.039 vs 0.371 ± 0.040 μg/mg pr, P 〈 0.001; 4 wk： 0.242 ± 0.045 vs 0.355 ± 0.029 μg/mg pr, P 〈 0.001）, but there were no significant differences in groups A （2wk： 0.141 ± 0.028 vs 0.137 =k 0.026 μg/mg pr, P = 0.737; 4 wk： 0.132 ± 0.031 vs 0.150 ± 0.035 μg/mg pr, P = 0.225） and C （2 wk： 0.395 ± 0.044 vs 0.378 ± 0.043 μg/mg p

Non-noble transition metal oxides(TMOs)are promising catalysts with improved catalytic activity and stability in oxygen evolution reaction(OER).However,the structural complexity of TMO-based electrocatalysts renders the determination of the active sites and OER mechanisms ***,we demonstrate that the OER activity of Co-doped one-dimensional W_(18)O_(49)(Co-W_(18)O_(49))is intrinsically dominated by the surface structure and electronic properties of the octahedral sites and Co-O-W *** with RuO_(2) and W_(18)O_(49) heterogeneous electrocatalysts,Co-W_(18)O_(49) exhibits higher turnover frequency,attaining 1.97 s−1 at 500 mV *** results indicate that Co substitution contributes to the localized charge distribution of the active octahedral sites constructed by the Co-O-W bonds under OER ***,we determine the mechanism of TMOs for the OER,which may be applied to various other TMOs for OER electrocatalyst design.
