Association between the cumulative triglyceride-glucose index and the recurrence of atrial fibrillation after radiofrequency catheter ablation

BACKGROUND Triglyceride-glucose(TyG)index values are a new surrogate marker for insulin *** study aimed to explore the relationship between cumulative TyG index values and atrial fibrillation(AF)recurrence after radiofrequency catheter ablation(RFCA).METHODS A total of 576 patients with AF who underwent RFCA at the Second Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University were included in this *** participants were grouped based on cumulative TyG index values tertiles within 3 months after *** regression and restricted cubic spline analyses were used to determine the relationship between cumulative TyG index values and AF *** predictive value of all risk factors was assessed by receiver operating curve *** There were 375 patients completed the study(age:63.23±10.73 years,64.27%male).The risk of AF recurrence increased with increasing cumulative TyG index values *** adjusting for potential confounders,patients in the medium cumulative TyG index group[hazard ratio(HR)=4.949,95%CI:1.778–13.778,P=0.002]and the high cumulative TyG index group(HR=8.716,95%CI:3.371–22.536,Pline regression model also showed an increased risk of AF recurrence with increasing cumulative TyG index *** considering cumulative TyG index values,left atrial diameter,and lactate dehydrogenase levels as a comprehensive factor,the model could effectively predict AF recurrence after RFCA[area under the curve(AUC)=0.847,95%CI:0.797–0.897,P<0.001].CONCLUSIONS Cumulative TyG index values were a risk factor for AF recurrence after *** longitudinal TyG index values may assist with optimized for risk stratification and outcome prediction for AF recurrence.

A High-Performance Electrochemical Analysis Platform for Ultrasensitive Detection of HTLV-1 DNA: Integrating Cascade Signal Amplifi cation with λ-Exonuclease-Assisted Target Recycling and Enzyme Catalysis

Human T-cell lymphophilic virus type 1 (HTLV-1), the known retrovirus causing cancer in humans, is closely associated with adult T-cell leukemia/lymphoma and HTLV-1 associated myelopathy/tropical spastic paraparesis. Due to its ability to evade the host's defense mechanisms, early tracking of HTLV-1 becomes crucial. In this study, we integrateλ-Exonuclease(λ-Exo)-assisted target recycling with a terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase (TdT)-mediated template-free DNA extension process to develop an electrochemical analysis platform for the specifi c and sensitive detection of HTLV-1 DNA. During theλ-Exo-assisted target recycling, HTLV-1 DNA is recognized by hairpin DNA (Hp-DNA), forming double-stranded DNA(dsDNA) through DNA hybridization. The dsDNA, featuring blunt 5'terminal phosphorylation, is cleaved byλ-Exo, generating abundant short output sequence (sDNA). HTLV-1 DNA is released, initiating a cyclic hybridization-cleavage ***, thiol-labelled capture DNA (CP-DNA) assembled on gold electrode surface captures a substantial amount of the generated sDNA, forming CP-DNA-sDNA nanostructures. When TdT and dNTPs are present on the electrode surface, the3'-OH terminal of sDNA extends to generate long single-stranded DNA (ssDNA) structure. Methylene blue (MB) is selected as the electrochemical signal molecule. MB not only binds with ssDNA but also interacts specifi cally with dsDNA, resulting in a signifi cantly enhanced electrochemical signal on modifi ed electrode surface. The detection limit of HTLV-1 DNA is as low as 19 amol/L (S/N=3) when the two signal amplifi cation strategies are combined. The analysis platform exhibits excellent analytical performance and holds promise as a novel tool for the early tracing and diagnosis of HTLV-1 DNA.

High-performance Si/VO_(2)-nanorod heterojunction photodetector based on photothermoelectric effect for detecting human radiation

As a typical candidate of optoelectronic materials,vanadium dioxide(VO_(2))has wide applications in photodetectors(PDs),but is still challenging in largely enhancing the photodetecting performance for low-power human ***,high-performance Si/VO_(2)nanorods(NRs)heterojunction PDs based on the photothermoelectric(PTE)effect are *** uniform VO_(2)-NRs array films were deposited on Si by using magnetron sputtering technique,and a Si/VO_(2)heterojunctions were *** device exhibits a four-stage photoresponse and broadband photoresponse from ultraviolet to long-wavelength *** from the unique nanorods structure and the strong PTE effect,the fabricated device exhibits a large enhancement of the photodetecting performance,showing an ultrahigh photodetectivity of 1.6×10^(13)Jones and ultrafast response rates with a risingedge time of~65.0μs,three orders of magnitude higher than other VO_(2)-based ***,the device exhibits unique abilities to detect human radiation even when the human fingers are far away from the device surface up to 10.0 ***,the fabricated Si/VO_(2)devices can also be applied as breath sensors to distinguish different breathing *** results supply an effective route to design high-performance photodetectors toward detecting human thermal radiation and respiration.

Unlocking high-efficiency oxygen evolution reaction through Co-N coordination engineering in Co@N-doped porous carbon core–shell nanoparticles

In this paper,a novel ternary eutectic salt Na_(2)CO_(3)-li_(2)CO_(3)-liF was designed and investigated for concentrated solar power(CSP).The FactSage software was used to predict the composition and eutectic point of Na_(2)CO_(3)-li_(2)CO_(3)-*** microstructure,thermophysical properties,and thermal stability of eutectic salts were experimentally measured using various analytical *** a mass ratio of 57%:32%:11%,the eutectic salt exhibited excellent thermal storage properties with a fusion enthalpy of 413 J/g and a melting point of 426.8℃.The excellent thermal stability of the eutectic salt was reflected by a weight loss of only 0.8% at 600℃.

According to a study from World Health Organization’s Global Burden of Disease,mental and neurological disorders have accounted for 13%of global diseases in recent years and are on the *** conditions or neuroinflammatory disorders are linked by the presence of an exaggerated immune response both peripherally and in the central nervous system(CNS).Cognitive dysfunction(CD)encompasses a complex group of diseases and has frequently been described in the field of autoimmune diseases,especially in multiple non-CNS-related autoimmune *** studies have provided various hypotheses regarding the occurrence of cognitive impairment in autoimmune diseases,including that abnormally activated immune cells can disrupt the integrity of the blood-brain barrier(BBB)to trigger a central neuroinflammatory *** the BBB is intact,autoantibodies and pro-inflammatory molecules in peripheral circulation can enter the brain to activate microglia,inducing CNS inflammation and ***,the mechanisms explaining the association between the immune system and neural function and their contribution to diseases are *** this review,we used clinical statistics to illustrate the correlation between CD and autoimmune diseases that do not directly affect the CNS,summarized the clinical features and mechanisms by which autoimmune diseases trigger cognitive impairment,and explored existing knowledge regarding the link between CD and autoimmune diseases from the perspective of the field of neuroimmunology.

An unprecedented synthesis of axially chiral biaryls by rearrangement and aromatization of carbocations with central-to-axial conversion of chirality

The central-to-axial chirality conversion represents a fascinating class of chemical processes consisting of the destruction of stereogenic centers and the simultaneous installation of axial chiral elements,which provides efficient methods for the preparation of axially chiral ***,developing catalytic asymmetric approaches for constructing these central chirality precursors and the efficient central-to-axial chirality conversion remains a challenge due to the requirement of aromatization or elimination *** this work,we have developed an unprecedented enantioselective intramolecular FriedelCrafts alkylation with unactivated-ketone carbonyls from which a chiral tertiary alcohol was generated with high efficiency and excellent *** addition,the central-to-axial chirality conversion strategy has been successfully applied to the synthesis of enantioenriched biaryls via a less-explored carbocation-initiated rearrangement and aromatization under the promotion of Lewis *** methodology provided a straightforward and sustainable access to a broad range of biaryl-2-carboxylic acid and in excellent yields(up to 92%)and excellent central-to-axial chirality conversion(up to 99%conversion percentage).This work could be a great model for developing new methods for synthesizing axially chiral biaryls and a general protocol for the rearrangement and aromatization of carbocations for further functionalization.

As a noninvasive technique,ultrasound stimulation is known to modulate neuronal activity both in vitro and in *** latest explanation of this phenomenon is that the acoustic wave can activate the ion channels and further impact the electrophysiological properties of targeted ***,the underlying mechanism of low-intensity pulsed ultrasound(liPUS)-induced neuro-modulation effects is still ***,we characterize the excitatory effects of liPUS on spontaneous activity and the intracellular Ca^(2+)homeostasis in cultured hippocampal *** whole-cell patch clamp recording,we found that 15 min of 1-MHz liPUS boosts the frequency of both spontaneous action potentials and spontaneous excitatory synaptic currents(sEPSCs)and also increases the amplitude of sEPSCs in hippocampal *** phenomenon lasts for>10 min after liPUS *** with Ca^(2+)imaging,we clarified that liPUS increases the[Ca^(2+)]cyto level by facilitating L-type Ca^(2+)channels(LTCCs).In addition,due to the[Ca^(2+)]cyto elevation by liPUS exposure,the Ca^(2+)-dependent CaMKII-CREB pathway can be activated within 30 min to further regulate the gene transcription and protein *** work suggests that liPUS regulates neuronal activity in a Ca^(2+)-dependent manner via *** may also explain the multi-activation effects of liPUS beyond *** stimulation potentiates spontaneous neuronal activity by increasing Ca^(2+)influx.
