The plant hormone jasmonate(JA)regulates plant growth and immunity by orchestrating a genome-wide transcriptional *** the resting stage,JASMONATE-ZIM DOMAIN(JAZ)proteins act as main repressors to regulate the expression of JA-responsive genes in the JA signaling ***,the mechanisms underlying de-repression of JA-responsive genes in response to JA treatment remain ***,we report two nuclear factor Y transcription factors NF-YB2 and NF-YB3(thereafter YB2 and YB3)play key roles in such de-repression in ***2 and YB3 function redundantly and positively regulate plant resistance against the necrotrophic pathogen Botrytis cinerea,which are specially required for transcriptional activation of a set of JA-responsive genes following ***,YB2 and YB3 modulated their expression through direct occupancy and interaction with histone demethylase Ref6 to remove repressive histone ***,YB2 and YB3 physically interacted with JAZ repressors and negatively modulated their abundance,which in turn attenuated the inhibition of JAZ proteins on the transcription of JA-responsive genes,thereby activating JA response and promoting disease ***,our study reveals the positive regulators of YB2 and YB3 in JA signaling by positively regulating transcription of JA-responsive genes and negatively modulating the abundance of JAZ proteins.

The impacts of land-cover composition on urban temperatures, including temperature extremes, are well documented. Much less attention has been devoted to the consequences of land-cover configuration, most of which addresses land surface temperatures. This study explores the role of both composition and configuration—or land system architecture—of residential neighborhoods in the Phoenix metropolitan area, on near-surface air temperature. It addresses two-dimensional, spatial attributes of buildings, impervious surfaces, bare soil/ rock, vegetation and the “urbanscape” at large, from 50 m to 550 m at 100 m increments, for a representative 30-day high sun period. linear mixed-effects models evaluate the significance of land system architecture metrics at different spatial aggregation levels. The results indicate that, controlling for land-cover composition and geographical variables, land-cover configuration, specifically the fractal dimension of buildings, is significantly associated with near-surface temperatures. In addition, statistically significant predictors related to composition and configuration appear to depend on the adopted level of spatial aggregation.

Electrochemical nitrogen reduction reaction(NRR)has been considered as an appealing and sustainable method to produce ammonia from N_(2) under ambient conditions,attracting increasing *** by low solubility of N_(2) in water and high stability of Ntriple bondN triple bond,developing NRR electrocatalysts with both strong N_(2) adsorption/activation and high electrical conductivity remain ***,we demonstrate an efficient strategy to develop NRR electrocatalyst with synergistically enhanced N_(2) adsorption/activation and electrical conductivity by heteroatom *** computational and experimental study,the DFT-designed Ti-doped SnO_(2) exhibits significantly enhanced NRR performance with ammonia yield rate of 13.09µg h^(-1) mg^(-1) at −0.2 V ***,the Faradaic efficiency reaches up to 42.6%,outperforming most of Sn-based *** fundamental mechanism for improving NRR performance of SnO_(2) by Ti doping is also *** work highlights a powerful strategy for developing high-activity electrocatalysts for NRR and beyond.

There are stillchallenges in applying drug nanocarriers for in situ sustained macrophage targeting and regulation,due to the rapid clearance of nanocarriers and burst drug release ***,a nanomicellehydrogel microsphere,characterized by its macrophage-targeted nanosized secondary structure that allows it to accurately bind to M1 macrophages through active endocytosis,is employed for in situ sustained macrophage targeting and regulation,and addresses the insufficient osteoarthritis therapeutic efficacy caused by rapid clearance of drug *** 3-dimensional structure of a microsphere can prevent the rapid escape and clearance of a nanomicelle,thus keeping it in joints,while the ligand-guided secondary structure can carry drugs to accurately target and enter M1 macrophages,and release drugs via the transition from hydrophobicity to hydrophilicity of nanomicelles under inflammatory stimulation inside the macrophages.

Poor thermostability is a limiting factor for applications ofγ-CGTase that affects starch utilization and yield ofγ-*** thermostability of Bacillus ***-44876γ-CGTase(BFγ-CGTase)was improved by addition of Ca^(2+)and site-directed ***,10 mM Ca^(2+)increased the half-life(t1/2)at 55 and 60℃ from 3.0 to 0.3 h to 17.4 and 2.0 h,*** spectra indicated that Ca^(2+)stabilized the tertiary structure of the BFγ-CGTase and hence improved the *** to serine of a glycine residue in anα-helix related to thermostability also improved the stability especially at the higher ***,in 10 mM Ca^(2+)the G208S mutant further increased t1/2 to 20.0 h and 4.0 h at 55 and 60℃,*** G208S mutant in 10 mM Ca^(2+)producedγ-CD from tapioca starch with 40%increased yield of that from BFγ-*** work involving rational protein engineering provided a new tool for enzymaticγ-CD production.

This study investigates the performance of a natural draft dry cooling tower group in crosswind conditions through numerical analysis.A comprehensive three-dimensional model is developed to analyze the steady-state and dynamic behavior of the *** impact of wind speed and direction on heat rejection capacity and flow patterns is *** indicate that crosswinds negatively affect the overall heat transfer capacity,with higher crosswind speeds leading to decreased heat ***,wind direction plays a significant role,particularly at 0°.Moreover,tower response time increases with higher crosswind speeds due to increased turbulence and the formation of *** response times are generally similar for wind directions of 45°and 90°,but differ when facing 0,where the leeward tower exhibits a shorter response time compared to the windward *** findings provide valuable insights into the performance of natural draft dry cooling tower groups under crosswind conditions,which can inform the design and operation of similar systems in practical applications.

Monitoring gas-and particulate-phase short-chain polychlorinated paraffins in the urban air of Dalian by a self-developed passive sampler

The concentration of short-chain polychlorinated paraffins(SCCPs) in the urban air of Dalian,China was monitored from September 2016 to August 2017 with a self-developed passive sampler(PAS1) and an active high-volume sampler, simultaneously. PAS1 successfully collected the entire target SCCPs in the ambient air. Air SCCPs sampled by PAS1 were found be in the linear uptake stage during 181 days of sampling. Passive and active samples showed comparable congener profiles, and the dominant contributors of SCCPs in the two kinds of samples were similar. A significant linear correlation was observed between the total concentration of SCCPs sampled by PAS1 and active sampler in the four seasons. The passive sampling rates of the PAS1 for the gas and particulate phases of SCCPs were measured. The quantitative structure–property relationship of the sampling rate of PAS1(Rair) for gas-phase SCCPs was studied. From the molecular point of view, Rairwas mainly affected by the molecular weight and sub-cooled liquid vapor pressure of SCCPs. In general, SCCPs in the urban air of Dalian mainly existed in gas phase,lower molecular weight SCCPs primarily occurred in the gas phase, whereas higher molecular weight SCCPs were predominately adsorbed or absorbed on airborne particles. The air concentration of SCCPs in the four seasons were different, the correlation of the concentration of SCCPs in the air with the meteorology parameters was conducted. The exposure risk by intake air SCCPs of the residents around the sampling sites was evaluated according to the European risk assessment standards.

In this paper, we identify a space-dependent source for a fractional diffusion equation. This problem is ill-posed, i.e., the solution （if it exists） does not depend continuously on the data. The generalized Tikhonov regularization method is proposed to solve this problem. An a priori error estimate between the exact solution and its regularized approximation is obtained. Moreover, an a posteriori parameter choice rule is proposed and a stable error estimate is also obtained, Numerical examples are presented to illustrate the validity and effectiveness of this method.
