Development of a wide-range and fast-response digitizing pulse signal acquisition and processing system for neutron flux monitoring on EAST

The neutron count rate fluctuation reaches six orders of magnitude between the ohmic plasma scenario and high power of auxiliary heating on an experimental advanced superconducting tokamak(EAST).The measurement result of neutron flux monitoring(NFM)is a significant feedback parameter related to the acquisition of radiation protection-related information and rapid fluctuations in neutron emission induced by plasma magnetohydrodynamic ***,a wide range and high time resolution are required for the NFM system on *** satisfy these requirements,a digital pulse signal acquisition and processing system with a wide dynamic range and fast response time was *** present study was conducted using a field-programmable gate array(FPGA)and peripheral component interconnect extension for instrument express(PXIe)*** digital dual measurement modes,which are composed of the pulse-counting mode and AC coupled square integral's Campbelling mode,were designed to expand the measurement range of the signal acquisition and processing *** time resolution of the signal acquisition and processing system was improved from 10 to 1 ms owing to utilizing highspeed analog-to-digital converters(ADCs),a high-speed PXIe communication with a direct memory access(DMA)mode,and online data preprocessing technology of *** signal acquisition and processing system was tested experimentally in the EAST radiation *** test results showed that the time resolution of NFM was improved to 1 ms,and the dynamic range of the neutron counts rate was expanded to more than 10^(6) counts per *** Campbelling mode was calibrated using a multipoint average linear fitting method;subsequently,the fitting coefficient reached ***,the newly developed pulse signal acquisition and processing system ensures that the NFM system meets the requirements of high-parameter experiments conducted on EAST more effectively.

New Exact Solutions and Conservation Laws to （3＋1）-Dimensional Potential-YTSF Equation

Using the modified find some new exact solutions to lie point symmetry groups and also get conservation laws, of the CK＇s direct method, we build the relationship between new solutions and old ones and the （3＋1）-dimensional potentiaial-YTSF equation. Baaed on the invariant group theory, lie symmetries of the （3＋1）-dimensional potential-YTSF equation are obtained. We equation with the given lie symmetry.

Burst detection in turbulent channel flows based on large eddy simulation databases

Reliable turbulent channel flow databases at several Reynolds numbers have been established by large eddy simulation (LES), with two of them validated by comparing with typical direct numerical simulation (DNS) results. Furthermore, the statistics, such as velocity profile, turbulent intensities and shear stress, were obtained as well as the temporal and spatial structure of turbulent bursts. Based on the LES databases available, the conditional sampling methods are used to detect the structures of burst events. A method to deterimine the grouping parameter from the probability distribution function (pdf) curve of the time separation between ejection events is proposed to avoid the errors in detected results. And thus, the dependence of average burst period on thresholds is considerably weakened. Meanwhile, the average burst-to- bed area ratios are detected. It is found that the Reynolds number exhibits little effect on the burst period and burst-to-bed area ratio.

Spatial pattern in the foraging group of Sichuan golden monkeys

One of the major social-biological characteristics in the genus Rhinopithecus is that the animals live in large groups of tens to hundreds of individuals. Study of the distribution pattern of various age-sex classes in the foraging Sichuan golden monkey troop has revealed that the spatial pattern of the Sichuan golden monkey group is an ellipse with its vertical axes longer than the horizontal axes. Most members are concentrated in the center and the *** males gather in the front, the center and the back of the troop; adult females and the young assemble in the center and near-center; sub-adult males are mainly distributed in the center-back and back, but some are also seen in the front, front-center and center; sub-adult females are more or less uniformly dispersed. The spatial distribution of various age-sex classes seems well correspondent with their status and role in the group. Distribution and storage of soil organic and inorganic carbon under different ecological zones in Xinjiang,China

The objective of this study was to quantify both soil organic carbon(SOC)and soil inorganic carbon(SIC)stocks in different ecological zones in Xinjiang Region,the largest arid and semi-arid region in northwest *** specific focus was on the vertical distributions of 641 typical soil profiles(0-100 cm).The study region covered five ecological zones:I-Altai/west Junggar;II-Junggar basin;III-Tianshan mountain;IV-Tarim basin;and V-Kunlun-Altun *** zones are categorized by their specific geographical locations from north to south with terrains derived from mountains to *** data used in the study were obtained from the first(1960s)and the second(1980s)National Soil Surveys and partially from the field survey of this study conducted in *** results suggest that there are 11.74 Pg SOC and 26.71 Pg SIC total stocks in the 0-100 cm surface soil over the entire study *** distributions of SOC and SIC were found to be *** Tianshan mountain zone has the highest SOC stock,followed by the Tarim basin,Kunlun-Altun mountains,Altai and west Junggar(Altai/west Junggar),and Junggar basin *** contrast,the Tarim basin zone had the highest SIC stock,followed by the Tianshan mountain,Kunlun-Altun mountains,Junggar basin,and Altai/west Junggar *** SOC content decreases gradually from northwest to southeast and from mountains to deserts;while the SIC content decreases gradually from south to *** SOC and SIC contents also change with soil *** a given ecological zone,the SOC content increased with increasing soil depth,peaked at about 20-40 cm,then it decreased with the bigger depths below 40 *** SIC contents increased gradually from 0 to 40 cm,and then decreased gradually with increasing soil depth over the 40-100 cm depth in all ecological zones except for the Tianshan mountain area.

Underlying mechanism of protection from hypoxic injury seen with n-butanol extract of Potentilla anserine L. in hippocampal neurons

The alcohol and n-butanol extract of Potentilla anserine L. significantly protects myocardium from acute ischemic injury. However, its effects on rat hippocampal neurons and the mechanism of protection remain unclear. In this study, primary cultured hippocampal neurons from neonatal rats were incubated in 95% N2 and 5% CO2 for 4 hours. Results indicated that hypoxic injury decreased the viability of neurons, increased the expression levels of caspase-9 and caspase-3 mRNA, as well as cytochrome c, Caspase-9, and Caspase-3 protein. Pretreatment with 0.25, 0.062 5, 0.015 6 mg/mL n-butanol extract of Potentilla anserine L. led to a significant increase in cell viability. Expression levels of caspase-9 and caspase-3 mRNA, as well as cytochrome c, Caspase-9, and Caspase-3 protein, were attenuated. The neuroprotective effect of n-butanol extract of Potentilla anserine L. was equivalent to tanshinone IIA. Our data suggest that the n-butanol extract of Potentilla anserine L. could protect primary hippocampal neurons from hypoxic injury by deactivating mitochondrial cell death.

Seismic design or retrofit of buildings with metallic structural fuses by the damage-reduction spectrum

Recently, the structural fuse has become an important issue in the field of earthquake engineering. Due to the trilinearity of the pushover curve of buildings with metallic structural fuses, the mechanism of the structural fuse is investigated through the ductility equation of a single-degree-of-freedom system, and the corresponding damage-reduction spectrum is proposed to design and retrofit buildings. Furthermore, the controlling parameters, the stiffness ratio between the main frame and structural fuse and the ductility factor of the main frame, are parametrically studied, and it is shown that the structural fuse concept can be achieved by specific combinations of the controlling parameters based on the proposed damage-reduction spectrum. Finally, a design example and a retrofit example, variations of real engineering projects after the 2008 Wenchuan earthquake, are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed design procedures using buckling restrained braces as the structural fuses.

Deformation and Failure Analysis of River Levee Induced by Coal Mining and Its Influence Factor

To study the influence of coal mining on the stability of river levees,a mechanical model of mining-induced river levee deformation was *** was based on the mining-induced deformation characteristics of river levees and the application of a typical surface subsidence ***,a failure criterion was proposed for river *** some examples,the deformation of,and stress distribution through,river levees under the influence of mining were obtained:the maximum tensile stress on the bottom of the river levee was less than the tensile strength,under which circumstance the river levee remained ***,this research analyzed the influence of three factors including the maximum surface subsidence wmax,half-length of surface subsidence basin L,and foundation coefficient k on the stability of river *** showed that reducing the mining height of the working face and the foundation co-efficient,and increasing the strike length of the working face could reduce the influence of mining on river *** results provided a theoretical basis for predicting the mining-induced deformation and failure of river levees.
