Influence of water potential and soil type on conventional japonica super rice yield and soil enzyme activities

We carried out a pool culture experiment to determine the optimal water treatment depth in loam and clay soils during the late growth stage of super rice. Three controlled water depth treatments of 0-5, 0-10 and 0-15 cm below the soil surface were estab{2.shed using alternate wetting and drying irrigation, and the soil water potential （0 to -2. kPa） was measured at 5, 10 and 15 cm. A 2.cm water layer was used as the control. We measured soil enzyme activities, root antioxidant enzyme activities, chlorophyll fluorescence parameters, and rice yield. The results showed that the 0-5-cm water depth treatment significantly increased root antioxidant enzyme activities in loam soil compared with the control, whereas soil enzyme activities, chlorophyll fluorescence parameters and yield did not differ from those of the control. The 0-10- and 0-15-cm water depth treatments also increased root antioxidant enzyme activities, whereas soil enzyme activities, chlorophyll fluorescence parameters and yield decreased. In clay soil, the soil enzyme activities, root antioxidant enzyme activities, chlorophyll fluorescence parameters, and yield did not change with the 0-5-cm water treatment, whereas the 0-10- and 0-15-cm water treatments improved these parameters. Therefore,the appropriate depths for soil water during the late growth period of rice with a 0 to -2. kPa water potential were 5 cm in loam and 15 cm in clay soil.

Severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome(SFTS)virus(SFTSV)is an emerging tick-borne virus with high fatality and an expanding ***,effective anti-SFTSV intervention remains ***(T-705)was recently reported to show in vitro and in animal model antiviral efficacy against ***,we conducted a single-blind,randomized controlled trial to assess the efficacy and safety of T-705 in treating SFTS(Chinese Clinical Trial Registry website,number ChiCTR190002.350).From May to August 2.18,laboratory-confirmed SFTS patients were recruited from a designated hospital and randomly assigned to receive oral T-705 in combination with supportive care or supportive care *** outcome occurred in 9.5%(7/74)of T-705 treated patients and 18.3%(13/71)of controls(odds ratio,0.466,95%Cl,0.174-1.2.7).Cox regression showed a significant reduction in case fatality rate(CFR)with an adjusted hazard ratio of 0.366(95%Cl,0.142.0.944).Among the low-viral load subgroup(RT-PCR cycle threshold>2.),T-705 treatment significantly reduced CFR from 11.5 to 1.6%(P=0.02.),while no between-arm difference was observed in the high-viral load subgroup(RT-PCR cycle threshold2.).The T-705-treated group showed shorter viral clearance,lower incidence of hemorrhagic signs,and faster recovery of laboratory abnormities compared with the *** in vitro and animal experiments demonstrated that the antiviral efficacies of T-705 were proportionally induced by SFTSV mutation rates,particularly from two transition mutation *** mutation analyses on T-705-treated serum samples disclosed a partially consistent mutagenesis pattern as those of the in vitro or animal experiments in reducing the SFTSV viral loads,further supporting the anti-SFTSV effect of T-705,especially for the low-viral loads.

In this article,we recall the United Nations’30-year journey in disaster risk reduction strategy and framework,review the latest progress and key scientific and technological questions related to the United Nations disaster risk reduction initiatives,and summarize the framework and contents of disaster risk science *** object of disaster risk science research is the"disaster system"consisting of hazard,the geographical environment,and exposed units,with features of regionality,interconnectedness,coupling,and *** stability,hazard threat,and socioeconomic vulnerability together determine the way that disasters are formed,establish the spatial extent of disaster impact,and generate the scale of *** the formation of a disaster,a conducive environment is the prerequisite,a hazard is the necessary condition,and socioeconomic exposure is the sufficient *** geographical environment affects local hazard intensity and therefore can change the pattern of loss *** multi-hazard,disaster chain,and disaster compound could induce complex impacts,amplifying or attenuating hazard intensity and changing the scope of affected *** the light of research progress,particularly in the context of China,we propose a threelayer disaster risk science disciplinary structure,which contains three pillars(disaster science,disaster technology,and disaster governance),nine core areas,and 2. research *** on these elements,we discuss the frontiers in disaster risk science research.

The growth periods（GPs, from planting/emergence to reproductive stage 8（R8） of soybean cultivars vary in different ecological regions, especially in China with a very complex soybean cropping system. In this study, a 3-yr experimental study was undertaken in three geographical locations of China from 2.08 to 2.10, including the Northeast（40.66-45.85°N）, Huang-Huai（34.75-38.04°N） and southern（2..82.30.60°N） eco-regions with about 2.0 accessions in each region to clarify the classification of maturity group（MG） and identify the cultivars with stable GP to increase the knowledge about the GP distribution of soybean cultivars in China. GPs of soybean cultivars in different eco-regions were significant different with a gradual decrease from 115-12. d in the Northeast part to the 85-100 d in the southern part of China. The geographical location was the major factor for GP of cultivars from the Northeast, while the year of planting was the major factor affecting the stability of GPs in Huang-Huai summer and southern summer soybean. AMMI2.additive main effects and multiplicativeinteraction）-Biplot analysis showed that the GPs of soybean cultivars from the Northeast eco-region have a comparatively satisfactory environmental stability. Moreover, soybean cultivars with moderate GP/MG and stable environment adaptability in different eco-regions were identified based on the linear regression and AMMI analysis, which was important for the accurate classification of soybean MGs in future. Taken together, our results reflected the genetic diversity, geographical distribution and environmental stability of the Chinese soybean GP trait. Soybean cultivars with stable GP for various Chinese eco-regions would be beneficial for Chinese soybean genetic improvement, varietal introduction, exchange, and soybean breeding program for wide adaptability.

Daytime HONO photolysis is an important source of atmospheric hydroxyl radicals(OH).Knowledge of HONO formation chemistry under typical haze conditions,however,is still *** the Multiphase chemistry experiment in Fogs and Aerosols in the North China Plain in 2.18,we investigated the wintertime HONO formation and its atmospheric implications at a rural site *** different episodes based on atmospheric aerosol loading levels were classified:clean periods(CPs),moderately polluted periods(MPPs)and severely polluted periods(SPPs).Correlation analysis revealed that HONO formation via *** conversion of NO_(2.was more efficient on aerosol surfaces than on ground,highlighting the important role of aerosols in promoting HONO *** HONO budget analysis indicated a large missing source(with an average production rate of 0.66±0.2.,0.97±0.47 and 1.45±0.55 ppbV/hr for CPs,MPPs and SPPs,respectively),which strongly correlated with photo-enhanced reactions(NO_(2.heterogeneous reaction and particulate nitrate photolysis).Average OH formation derived from HONO photolysis reached up to(0.92.0.71),(1.75±1.2.)and(1.82.1.47)ppbV/hr in CPs,MPPs and SPPs respectively,much higher than that from O3 photolysis(i.e.,(0.004±0.004),(0.006±0.007)and(0.0035±0.0034)ppbV/hr).such high OH production rates could markedly regulate the atmospheric oxidation capacity and hence promote the formation of secondary aerosols and pollutants.

Organic–inorganic hybrid perovskite solar cells,one of the most promising photovoltaic devices,have made great progress in their efficiency and preparation *** this study,uniform,highly conductive li_(n)NiO_(x)(0≤n≤1;03)films were prepared by electrochemical deposition for a range of li *** performance for the perovskite solar cells was enhanced through incorporation of the ion pair of Ni^(3+)-Ni^(2.) as the interfacial *** on the amount of lithium doping,controlled interfacial oxidation was induced by Ni^(3+).The li_(0.32.NiO_(x)inhibited charge recombination,reduced the defect density,and enhanced the photocurrent density.A maximum power conversion efficiency of 2..44%was obtained by li_(0.32.NiO_(x).Further,in the long-term,in-air stabilities of unencapsulated li_(n)-NiO_(x) perovskite solar cells were demonstrated.
