Amorphous high-entropy materials with abundant defects,coordinatively unsaturated sites,and loosely bonded atoms could exhibit excellent electrocatalytic ***,how to fabricate such ma-terials with nanostructure as well as amorphous structure is still full of *** this work,high-entropy metal organic framework(HE-MOF)is employed as the self-sacrificial template to fabricate FeCoNiCuMnP x high-entropy phosphide/carbon(HEP/C)*** obtained composite shows a het-erostructured fusiform morphology,in which the HEP is encapsulated by a carbon layer,revea{2.ng high electron conductivity as well as rich catalytic active sites for oxygen evolution reaction(OER).Beside,it is found that there is a short-range ordered crystal structure in the amorphous phase,which is bene-ficial for revea{2.ng high OER catalytic activity as well as good *** a result,the optimum HEP/C composite shows an overpotential 2.9 mV@10 mA cm^(−2.with a small Tafel slope of 72.5 mV dec^(−1) for catalyzing OER in alka{2.ne solution.

Silicon monoxide(SiO)is widely recognized as a promising anode material for next-generation lithium-ion *** to its metastable amorphous structure,SiO exhibits a highly complex degree of crystallization at the microscopic level,which significantly influences its electrochemical *** a consequence,accurately regulating the crystallization of SiO,and further establishing the relationship between crystallinity and electrochemical performance are very critical for SiO *** this article,carbon-coated SiO materials with different crystallinity degrees were synthesized using lithium hydroxide monohydrate(liOH·H_(2.O)as a structural modifier to reveal this ***,moderate amount of liOH·H_(2.O addition results in the forming of an oxygen-rich shell,which effectively inhibits the inward migration of oxygen atoms on the SiO surface and suppresses volume ***,the crystallinity of SiO will gradually enhance and the crystalline phase appears with increasing the amount of liOH·H_(2.O,which will generate a deteriorative li+diffusion *** balancing the above two contradictions,a mass fraction of 1%liOH·H_(2.O for the additive yielded SiO@C-1,characterized by optimal ***@C-1 demonstrates exceptional long-cycle stability with 74.8%capacity retention after 500 cycles at 1 A·g^(-1).Furthermore,it achieves a capacity retention of 52.2.even at a high density of 5 A·g^(-1).This study first reveals the relationship between SiO crystallinity and electrochemical performance,which efficiently guides the design of high-performance SiO anodes.

Neutron resonance imaging(NRI)has recently emerged as an appealing technique for neutron *** complexity surpasses that of conventional transmission imaging,as it requires a high demand for both a neutron source and ***,the progression of NRI technology has been sluggish since its inception in the 1980s,particularly considering the limited studies analyzing the neutron energy range above *** white neutron source(Back-n)at the China Spallation Neutron Source(CSNS)provides favorable beam conditions for the development of the NRI technique over a wide neutron energy range from eV to ***-sensitive microchannel plates(MCP)have emerged as a cutting-edge tool in the field of neutron detection owing to their high temporal and spatial resolutions,high detection efficiency,and low *** this study,we report the development of a 10B-doped MCP detector,along with its associated electronics,data processing system,and NRI experiments at the *** heavy elements such as gold,silver,tungsten,and indium can be easily identified in the transmission images by their characteristic resonance peaks in the 1–100 eV energy range;the more difficult medium-weight elements such as iron,copper,and aluminum with resonance peaks in the 1–100 keV energy range can also be *** particular,results in the neutron energy range of dozens of keV(Aluminum)are reported here for the first time.

Highly thermally conductive graphitic film(GF)materials have become a competitive solution for the thermal management of high-power electronic ***,their catastrophic structural failure under extreme alternating thermal/cold shock poses a significant challenge to reliability and ***,we present the first investigation into the structural failure mechanism of GF during cyclic liquid nitrogen shocks(LNS),which reveals a bubbling process characterized by“permeation-diffusion-deformation”*** overcome this long-standing structural weakness,a novel metal-nanoarmor strategy is proposed to construct a Cu-modified graphitic film(GF@Cu)with seamless *** well-designed interface ensures superior structural stability for GF@Cu after hundreds of LNS cycles from 77 to 300 ***,GF@Cu maintains high thermal conductivity up to 1088 W m^(−1)K^(−1)with degradation of less than 5%even after 150 LNS cycles,superior to that of pure GF(50%degradation).Our work not only offers an opportunity to improve the robustness of graphitic films by the rational structural design but also facilitates the applications of thermally conductive carbon-based materials for future extreme thermal management in complex aerospace electronics.

Background:Neutrophils are traditionally viewed as first responders but have a short onset of action in response to traumatic brain injury(TBI).However,the heterogeneity,multifunctionality,and time-dependent modulation of brain damage and outcome mediated by neutrophils after TBI remain poorly ***:Using the combined single-cell transcriptomics,metabolomics,and proteomics analysis from TBI patients and the TBI mouse model,we investigate a novel neutrophil phenotype and its associated effects on TBI outcome by neurological deficit scoring and behavioral *** also characterized the underlying mechanisms both invitro and invivo through molecular simulations,signaling detections,gene expression regulation assessments[including dual-luciferase reporter and chromatin immunoprecipitation(ChIP)assays],primary cultures or co-cultures of neutrophils and oligodendrocytes,intracellular iron,and lipid hydroperoxide concentration measurements,as well as forkhead box protein O1(FOXO1)conditional knockout ***:We identified that high expression of the FOXO1 protein was induced in neutrophils after TBI both in TBI patients and the TBI mouse *** of these FOXO1high neutrophils in the brain was detected not only in the acute phase but also in the chronic phase post-TBI,aggravating acute brain inflammatory damage and promoting late TBI-induced *** the acute stage,FOXO1 upregulated cytoplasmic Versican(VCAN)to interact with the apoptosis regulator B-cell lymphoma-2.BCL-2.-associated X protein(BAX),suppressing the mitochondrial translocation of BAX,which mediated the antiapoptotic effect companied with enhancing interleukin-6(IL-6)production of FOXO1high *** the chronic stage,the“FOXO1-transferrin receptor(TFRC)”mechanism contributes to FOXO1high neutrophil ferroptosis,disturbing the iron homeostasis of oligodendrocytes and inducing a reduction in myelin basic protein,which contributes to the progression of late depression afte

Ependymal cells line the wall of cerebral ventricles and ensure the unidirectional cerebrospinal fluid （CSF） flow by beating their motile cilia coordinately. The ependymal denudation or ciliary dysfunction causes hydrocephalus. Here, we report that the deficiency of regulator of Gprotein signaling 2. （RGS2.） results in severe congenital hydrocephalus in both mice and rats. Interestingly, RGS2. is specifically expressed in ependymal cells within the brain. Using conditional knock-out mice, we further demonstrate that the deletion of Rgs2. exclusively in nervous system is sufficient to induce hydrocephalus. Mechanistically, we show that Rgs2. deficiency leads to the ependymal denudation and impaired ciliogenesis. This phenomenon can be attributed to the excessive activation of lysophosphatidic acid receptor （LPAR） signaling under Rgs2.–/–condition, as the LPAR blockade effectively alleviates hydrocephalus in Rgs2.–/–rats. Therefore, our findings unveil a previously unrecognized role of RGS2. in the central nervous system, and present RGS2. as a potential diagnostic and therapeutic target for hydrocephalus.

We report the discovery of a peculiar X-ray transient,EP2.0408a,by Einstein Probe （EP） and follow-up studies made with EP,Swift,NICER,GROND,ATCA and other ground-based multiwavelength *** new transient was first detected with Wide-field X-ray Telescope （WXT） on board EP on April 8th,2.2.,manifested in an intense yet brief X-ray flare lasting for *** flare reached a peak flux of 3.9×10-9erg cm-2.-1in 0.5-4 keV,300 times brighter than the underlying X-ray emission detected throughout the *** and more precise follow-up observations by EP/FXT,Swift and NICER confirmed the finding of this new *** X-ray spectrum is non-thermal in 0.5-10 keV,with a power-law photon index varying *** X-ray light curve shows a plateau lasting for4d,followed by a steep decay till becoming undetectable10 d after the initial *** on its temporal property and constraints from previous EP observations,an unu{2.al timescale in the range of 7-2. d is found for EP2.0408a,which is intermediate between the commonly found fast and long-term *** counterparts have been found in optical and near-infrared,with the earliest observation at 17 h after the initial X-ray detection,{2.ggestive of intrinsically weak emission in these *** demonstrate that the remarkable properties of EP2.0408a are inconsistent with any of the transient types known so far,by comparison with,in particular,jetted tidal disruption events,gamma-ray bursts,X-ray binaries and fast blue optical *** nature of EP2.0408a thus remains an *** {2.ggest that EP2.0408a may represent a new type of transients with intermediate timescales of the order of10 *** detection and follow-ups of more of {2.ch objects are essential for revealing their origin.
