Carbide slag was used as the calcareous materials for the first time to prepare xonotlite via dynamic hydrothermal *** efiects of infiuential factors including difierent calcination temperatures, pretreatment methods of the carbide slag and process param-eters of hydrothermal synthesis on the microstructure and morphology of xonotlite were explored using XRD and SEM *** results indicate that the carbide slag after proper calcination could be used to prepare pure xonotlite;and difierent calcination tem-peratures have little efiect on the crystallinity of synthesized xonotlite, but have great impact on the morphology of secondary *** difierent pretreatment methods of the carbide slag pose great impact on the crystallinity and morphology of secondary particles of *** was also synthesized from pure cao under the same experimental conditions as that prepared from calcined carbide slag for *** amount of impurities in carbide slag has no efiect on the mechanism of hydrothermal synthesizing xonotlite from carbide slag.

The genus Arthricocephalus Bergeron, 1899 is revised, and Halipanktos Balker & Peel, 1997 is suggested here as a senior synonym. The subgenus Arthricocephalus (Arthricocephalites) Chien & lin in Lu et al. , 1974 is considered as a separate genus. Of the 20 previously assigned species of Arthricocephaius (Arthricocephalus) Bergeron, 1899, Arthricocephalus (Arthricocephalites) Chien & lin in Lu et al. , 1974, Arthricocephalus (Euarthricocephalus) Ju, 1983 are lumped into eight species. The speciation trend of Arthricocephalus and Arthricocephalites is demonstrated based on their stratigraphic occurrences. It not only enhances the resolution of the biostatigraphic zonation in the uppermost Lower Cambrian, but also represents a potential candidate to define the Duyunian stage. The base of the stage is suggested at the first appearance datum (FAD) of Arthricocephalus chauveaui Bergeron, 1899 within the evolutionary lineage from Ar. jiangkouensis Yin in Yin & li, 1978 to Ar. chauveaui in a global scale.

STUDY ON CORROSION RESISTANCE AND STRENGTHENING OF TITANIUM-CONTAINED COAT FOR BRUSH PLATING

Under brush plating the behaviour of the electrodeposition of metal titanium and the prescriptions of brush plating solution contaning titanium have been studied systematically in this paper. Based on this study, the four kinds of the prescriptions A,B,C and D are put forward. The properties of both coats for the solution A and B have been determined all-sidely. The result shows A and B both meet the stipulated technical requirements and have the following advantages :1. Their hardness can basically keep constant within 500℃ and increase slightly, which displays clear superiority to that of the brush plating solution High-speed Nickel, Nickel-Tungsten D used widely in china.2. Their corrosion resistance is good. The soaking test in 30% NaOH, 20% H;SO;, man-made seawater and organic acid atmosphere test show their corrosion resistance is fairly good; besides, salt spray test is OK. The concerned factories have been interested in those good properties and begun to use them. We consider that both coats containing titanium may replace stainless steel and some noble metals, Based on microstructure analyses for the above coats, we confirm that some amorphous solid exists in both coats containing titanium, and the crystallizing temperature is between 500～550℃.

Alzheimer's disease,the primary cause of dementia,is characterized by neuropathologies,such as amyloid plaques,synaptic and neuronal degeneration,and neurofibrillary *** amyloid plaques are the primary characteristic of Alzheimer's disease in the central nervous system and peripheral organs,targeting amyloid-beta clearance in the central nervous system has shown limited clinical efficacy in Alzheimer's disease *** abnormalities are commonly observed in patients with Alzheimer's *** liver is the primary peripheral organ involved in amyloid-beta metabolism,playing a crucial role in the pathophysiology of Alzheimer's ***,impaired cholesterol metabolism in the liver may exacerbate the development of Alzheimer's *** this review,we explore the underlying causes of Alzheimer's disease and elucidate the role of the liver in amyloid-beta clearance and cholesterol ***,we propose that restoring normal cholesterol metabolism in the liver could represent a promising therapeutic strategy for addressing Alzheimer's disease.

At 1.0-4.0 GPa and 1123-1473 K and under oxygen fugacity-controlled conditions (Ni + NiO, Fe + Fe3O4, Fe + FeO and Mo+ M0O2 buffers), a YJ-3000t Model six-anvil solid high-pressure apparatus and a Sarltron-1260 Impedance/Gain-Phase analyzer were employed to conduct an in situ measurement of the electrical conductivity of single crystal olivine. Experimental results showed that: (1) within the range of experimentally selected frequencies (103-106 Hz), the electrical conductivity of the sample is of great dependence on the frequency; (2) with the rise of temperature ( T), the electrical conductivity (σ) will increase, and the Arrenhius linear relationship is established between lgσ and 1/T; (3) under the control of oxygen buffer Fe+ Fe3O4, with the rise of pressure, the electrical conductivity tends to decrease whereas the activation enthalpy and independent-of-temperature preexponential factor tend to increase, with the activation energy and activation volume of the sample estimated at (1. 25 ± 0.08) eV and (0.105 ±0.025) cm3/mol, respectively; (4) under given pressure and temperature conditions, the electrical conductivity tends to increase whereas the activation energy tends to decrease with increasing oxygen fugacity; and ( 5) the mechanism of electrical conduction of small polarons can provide insight into the behavior of electrical conduction of olivine under high pressure and high temperature.

Three guests with two moiety probes for different Cucurbit[n = 6—8]urils have been synthesized. They are N-(2-methylenethiophen)-adamataneamine, N-(2-methylene pyrrole)- adamataneamine and N-(2-methylenefurfuran)-adamataneamine. The probes are methyle-nepyridyl typically for Q[6] and adamataneamine typically for Q[7]. The host-guest complexes of Cucurbit[n = 6—8]urils with these guests have been investigated by using NMR techniques and ESMS method. Also, thermoanalysis has been used for exploring relationship of enthalpy and stability of the host-guest complexes.

Although many studies have investigated intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) for nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC),sample sizes in the reported studies are usually small and different in outcomes in different T and N subgroups are seldom ***,we evaluated the outcomes of NPC patients treated with IMRT and further explored treatment strategy to improve such *** collected clinical data of 865 NPC patients treated with IMRT alone or in combination with chemotherapy,and classified all cases into the following prognostic categories according to different TNM stages:early stage group (T1-2N0-1M0),advanced local disease group (T3-4N0-1M0),advanced nodal disease group (T1-2N2-3M0),and advanced locoregional disease group (T3-4N2-3M0).The 5-year overall survival (OS),local relapse-free survival (LRFS),and distant metastases-free survival (DMFS) were 83.0%,90.4%,and 84.0%,*** early disease group had the lowest treatment failure rate,with a 5-year OS of 95.6%.The advanced local disease group and advanced nodal disease group had similar failure pattern and treatment outcomes as well as similar hazard ratios for death (4.230 and 4.625,respectively).The advanced locoregional disease group had the highest incidence of relapse and death,with a 5-year DMFS and OS of 62.3% and 62.2%,respectively,and a hazard ratio for death of *** with IMRT alone,IMRT in combination with chemotherapy provided no significant benefit to locoregionally advanced *** results suggest that the decision of treatment strategy for NPC patients should consider combinations of T and N stages,and that IMRT alone for early stage NPC patients can produce satisfactory ***,for advanced local,nodal,and locoregional disease groups,a combination of chemotherapy and radiotherapy is recommended.

The distribution of water channels in the crystal morphology of type-α hemi-hydrated gypsum(α-HH) was theoretically detected to investigate the effect of water channels on the hydration reactivity of hemi-hydrate phosphogypsum(HPG). Results showed that water channels were mainly distributed in the cylinders of α-HH crystal,whereas no water channel existed in the conical surfaces parallel to the z-axis. Increasing the number of water channels was critical to enhance the hydration activity of HPG compared with the hydration reactivity of industrial HPG and type-α high-strength gypsum. Controlling the technological parameters of crystallization by concentration of liquid-phase SO_4^(2-) made it possible to obtain HPG which had the stumpy crystals of α-HH and high hydration reactivity.

Relationship Between Vegetation Restoration and Soil Microbial Characteristics in Degraded Karst Regions: A Case Study

The mechanism of vegetation restoration on degraded karst regions has been a research focus of soil science and ecology for the last *** an attempt to preferably interpret the soil microbiological characteristic variation associated with vegetation restoration and further to explore the role of soil microbiology in vegetation restoration mechanism of degraded karst regions,we measured microbial biomass C and basal respiration in soils during vegetation restoration in Zhenfeng County of southwestern guizhou Province,*** community level physiological profiles(CLPP) of the soil microbial community to were estimated determine if vegetation changes were accompanied by changes in functioning of soil microbial *** results showed that soil microbial biomass C and microbial quotient(microbial biomass C/organic C) tended to increase with vegetation restoration,being in the order arboreal community stage > shrubby community stage > herbaceous community stage > bare land *** trend was found in the change of basal respiration(BR).The metabolic quotient(the ratio of basal respiration to microbial biomass,qCO 2) decreased with vegetation restoration,and remained at a constantly low level in the arboreal community *** of the CLPP data indicated that vegetation restoration tended to result in higher average well color development,substrate richness,and functional *** utilization of specific substrate guilds was highest in the arboreal community *** component analysis of the CLPP data further indicated that the arboreal community stage was distinctly different from the other three *** conclusion,vegetation restoration improved soil microbial biomass C,respiration,and utilization of carbon sources,and decreased qCO 2,thus creating better soil conditions,which in turn could promote the restoration of vegetation on degraded karst regions.
