Basin-fill sequences of Mesozoic typical basins in the Yanshan area,North China may be divided into four phases,reflecting lithosphere tectonic evolution from flexure(T),flexure with weak rifting(J),tectonic transition(J),and rifting(K).Except the first phase,the other three phases all start with lava and volcaniclastic rocks,and end with thick co.rse clastic rocks and/or co.glomerates,showing cyclic basin development rather than simple cyclic rift mechanism and disciplinary basin-stress change from extension to co.pression in each *** basin analysis,based on basin-fill sequences,paleocurrent distribution and depositional systems,shows that single basin-strike and structural-line direction co.trolling basin development had evidently changed from east-west to northeast in Late jurassic in the Yanshan area, although basin group still occurred in east-west zonal *** Early Cretaceous,main structural-line strike co.trolling basins just turned to northeast by north in the studied area.

The Late Neoproterozoic-Early Palaeozoic suture zones within the Central Orogenic Belt of China can be co.sidered a system—the Kunlun-Qilian-Qinling suture system(KQQ suture system).It is basically divided into the western,central and eastern *** western sector co.sists of the Kda-Subashi suture zone,the Mazar-Kangxiwar suture and the central West Kunlun *** central sector co.ers the following five suture zones: the Altun,North Qilian,Qaidam northern marginal,Qimantag-Wutuo and East Kunlun southern marginal sutures,in addition to some microblocks such as the mid-south Qilian,Qaidam,Ayakkum and Maqen *** eastern sector is co.posed of the Shangdan suture zone,Mianle suture zone and central Qinling-Dabie *** KQQ suture system experienced(1) extending-rifting of the Rodinia super-co.tinent in the early-middle Sinian(～780-600 Ma);(2) the formation and evolution of the KQQ archipelagic ocean during the Late Sinian-Ordovician(～600-440 Ma),and(3) closing of the KQQ ocean and forming of the KQQ suture system during the Late Ordovician-early Silurian(～440-400 Ma).As a system co.prising many suture zones and microblocks,the KQQ suture system co.stitutes the foundation of the Central Orogenic Belt of China.

Detailed rock magnetic experiments were co.ducted on high-purity natural crystalline pyrite and its products of thermal treatments in both argon and air *** argon atmosphere(reducing environment), the pyrite is altered by heating to magnetite and pyrrhotite;the latter is stable in argon atmosphere, and has co.rcive force and co.rcivity of remanence of～20 and～30 mT,respectively. Whereas in air,the pyrite is ultimately oxidized to *** order reversal curve(FORC) diagram of the end product shows that the remanence co.rcivity of hematite is up to～1400 *** co.responding thermal transformation process of pyrite in air can be simply summarized as pyrite→pyrrhotite→magnetite→*** results are helpful for understanding of sedimentary magnetism, seco.dary chemical remanence and meteorolite magnetic properties.

beijing is facing a serious water crisis because of an unprecedented eco.omic and population *** well fields were built in Pinggu basin, beijing east,to ease the water pressure before water diversion of the South-to-North Water Diversion *** order to study the influence of the huge quantity of extraction in the Pinggu basin,a 3-D transient groundwater flow model was developed and several scenarios were simulated in the prediction *** analysing the simulation results,some useful co.clusions were reached,which co.ld be used for groundwater management and pumping strategies for the long-term sustainability of groundwater.

The Qinling orogenic belt is one of world’s great co.lisional orogenic belts,which extends from the Pamirs-West Kunlun to the Korean peninsula and occupies a key position in understanding of the evolution and assembly of *** belt separates the North China and South China ***,thick Devonian clastic rocks,sandwiched between the Shangdan and Mianlue suture zones,are mainly infills of the Xicheng Basin and provide the principal sedimentary reco.d of tectonism in the Qinling *** infills were subdivided into three subunits:the Upper Devonian Dacaotan Group,the Middle-Upper Devonian Shujiaba Group,and the Lower-Upper Devonian Xihanshui *** provenance and tectonic setting are critical to understanding not only the tectonic evolution of Asia but also the global aspects of co.lisional *** with Devonian strata in the eastern part of the Qinling orogen,the Xicheng Basin was not seriously modified by Mesozoic tectonism. Petrologic studies demonstrate that the Dacaotan Group co.sists mainly of feldspathic litharenite with abundant volcanic *** co.trast,the Shujiaba and Xihanshui Groups co.tain more metamorphic and sedimentary fragments and fewer magmatics than other lithic fragments;these relations demonstrate that magmatic plutons were not extensively exposed at the time of deposition of these *** Q-F-L plots sandstones fall into the field of transitional arcs,but on *** Lm-Lv-Ls diagrams they plot in the fields of co.tinental-arc and co.tinental-suture *** presence of volcanic lithic grains in the sandstones suggests they were derived mainly from a co.tinental arc. Major-element geochemistry of siltstones and mudstones demonstrate that most were derived from a co.tinental arc,but some from an oceanic island ***-element geochemistry favors a co.tinental-arc provenance mostly from felsic rocks.A high Cr co.tent of siltstones and mudstones demonstrates that some mafic or ultramafic rocks were exp

TheδC values of Lower Cretaceous Aptian-Albian platform-type carbonates in the Cuoqin Basin,North Tibet vary between 2.48‰and 5.46‰.The mean value is 3.93‰.The values are not only provided with positive excursion,but also 1.17‰higher than those of co.temporaneous pelagic carbonates which possess pretty highδC *** origin is approached. During the oceanic anoxic events,a great number of organisms were rapidly buried,causing the increase of theδC value of oceanic total dissolved carbon(TDC) and generally promoting the values of marine *** that,owing to the organisms undergoing different isotopic fractionation in the paleo-ocean with stratified structure,δC values of shallow sea carbonate were obviously higher than those of pelagic carbonates.

[1]The planetary-scale oscillations of the field-aligned irregularities(FAI) and the sporadic E(Es) layers in the low-latitude E region were studied in terms of the observations from 8 june to 22 August 2009 using co.erent backscatter radar and a digital ionosonde installed at Sanya(18.34°N,109.62°E),Hainan Island,*** 2 day waves were observed both in the meridional wind and in daytime backscatter echo *** observations on sporadic E layers in daytime showed a planetary-scale wave signature in the low-latitude region for the first *** co.relation between echo occurrence and the mean critical frequency(foEs) was found when the quasi 2 day planetary wave(QTPW) *** results suggest that the Es plays an important role in determining the long-term variability of the low-latitude E region *** test the nonlinear interactions between tides and QTPW,the hourly meridional and zonal winds are *** subsidiary waves with anticipated frequencies and their height evolutions provide evidence of tide-QTPW interactions. Bispectral analysis on the winds further validates the strong nonlinear interactions between tides and the QTPW in the meridional *** results suggest that the mechanism proposed by Pancheva et al.[2003]is a reasonable explanation for the planetary-scale variability of the low-latitude E region FAI and *** different responses of the Es layers and the E region FAIs on the QTPW between day and night can be attributed to diurnal variations in ion densities in the region between 100 and 160 km.

The increase in the global average temperature during the last century is co.sidered an integrated result of anthropogenic and natural forcing,but different views remain about the anthropogenic impacts on the Asian monsoon *** on the～2000-year reco.ds of stalagmiteδO from the Dongge Cave(Guizhou Province) and Wanxiang Cave(Gansu Province),we address the possible anthropogenic impacts on the southwest and southeast Asian monsoon from 1900-2000 AD,using the method of Singular Spectrum Analysis(SSA).The results show that the monsoon precipitation trends in the last 100 years at both sites can be obtained through SSA prediction using the data prior to 1900 *** suggest that human activity has not significantly affected the trends of monsoon precipitation despite of its impact on the global temperature.
