The interfacial stability of lithium metal anodes dictated by solid electrolyte interphase(SEI) is essential for long-cycling high-energy-density lithium–sulfur batteries. Nevertheless, critical components of SEI for interfacial stabilization are particularly indistinct. Herein, the effect of various sulfur-containing components in SEI for stabilizing lithium metal anodes is disclosed in lithium–sulfur batteries. High-valence sulfur-containing species(li_(2)SO_(3) and li_(2)SO_(4)) in SEI are conducive to uniform lithium deposition and stabilizing lithium metal anodes. In contrast, low-valence sulfur-containing species(li_(2)S_(3) and li_(2)S_(4)) in SEI result in aggressive lithium dendrites and dead lithium. This work identifies the role of sulfurcontaining components in SEI for stabilizing lithium metal anodes and provides rational design principles of SEI for protecting lithium metal anodes in practical lithium–sulfur batteries.

THE incidence of isolated right heart infective endocarditis （IE） is far less common than that of left heart. Clinical presentation is often associated with pulmonary manifestations. The main symptoms include high fever, chest pain, and dyspnea due to septic pulmonary emboli. Degenerative valvular disease, congenital heart diseases, prosthetic valves, long-term hemodialysis, diabetes mellitus predispose patients at increased risk of IE.1 In young persons, IE may be associated with intravenous drug abuse.2 This report dealt with a young patient who had none of the risk factors mentioned above. He was diagnosed and treated for lung abscess and septemia for one and a half months. Further investigation unveiled infective vegetation on tricuspid valve. Following surgical resection of the vegetation, fever and respiratory symptoms completely remitted. The mechanism of the IE occurred on the normal native tricuspid valve is proposed.

The transient absorption spectrum technique was employed to investigate the cross-reaction mecha-nism of C6H5F-HNO2 aqueous solution irradiated at 355 nm. The characteristic and the kinetic parame-ters of transient species were also detected. Hydroxyl radical derived from the photolysis of HNO2 was added to monofluorobenzene with a second-order rate constant of (5.83±0.17)×109 L·mol-1·s-1 to form an adduct, C6H5F···OH, which was able to react with HNO2 as the main reaction pathway with a rate constant of (8.3±0.1)×107 L·mol-1·s-1. The C6F6···OH adduct can also be decayed by elimination of H2O to yield monofluorophenyl radical C6H4F·. By GC-MS technique, the final products were identified to be monofluorophenol, nitro-monofluorobenzene, nitro-monofluorophenol and para-fluorobiphenyl.

The age pattern across spiral arms is one of the key observational features utilised to study the dynamic nature of the Galaxy’s spiral *** the most updated samples of high-mass star formation region(HMSFR)masers,O stars and open clusters,we investigated their distributions and kinematic properties in the vicinity of the *** found that the Sagittarius-Carina Arm traced by HMSFRs,O stars((?)10 Myr)and young open clusters(lined to gradually deviate toward the Galactic Center(GC)*** properties for the Local Arm are supported by a simplified simulation of cluster motions in the *** of systematic motions in the circular and radial velocities are noticed for the old open clusters(>200 Myr).These results are consistent with the idea that star formation can be triggered by spiral shocks of density waves,and indicate that the corotation radius of the Galaxy is located between the SagittariusCarina Arm and the Local Arm,close to the Solar circle.

Hybrid pencil beam model(HPBM) offers an efficient approach to calculate the three-dimension dose distribution from a clinical electron ***,clinical radiation treatment activity desires faster treatment plan *** work presented the fast implementation of HPBM-based electron dose calculation using graphics processing unit(GPU).The HPBM algorithm was implemented in compute unified device architecture running on the GPU,and C running on the CPU,*** tests with various sizes of the field,beamlet and voxel were used to evaluate our *** an NVIDIA GeForce GTX470 GPU card,we achieved speedup factors of 2.18- 98.23 with acceptable accuracy,compared with the results from a Pentium E5500 2.80 GHz Dual-core CPU.

Photocatalysis offers a sustainable means for the oxidative removal of low concentrations of NOx(NO,NO2,N2O,N2O5,etc.)from the *** double hydroxides(LDHs)are promising candidate photocatalysts owing to their unique layered and tunable chemical structures and abundant surface hydroxide(OH)moieties,which are hydroxyl radical(OH)***,the practical applications of LDHs are limited by their poor charge-separation ability and insufficient active ***,we developed a facile N_(2)H_(4)-driven etching approach to introduce dual Ni^(2+)and OHvacancies(Niv and OHv,respectively)into NiFe-LDH nanosheets(hereafter referred to as NiFe-LDH-et)to facilitate improved charge-carrier separation and active Lewis acidic site(Fe^(3+)and Ni^(2+)exposed at OHv)*** contrast to inert pristine LDH,NiFe-LDH-et actively removed NO under visible-light ***,Ni_(76)Fe_(24)-LDH-et etched with 1.50 mmol·L^(-1)N_(2)H_(4)solution removed 32.8%of the NO in continuously flowing air(NO feed concentration:500 parts per billion(ppb))under visible-light illumination,thereby outperforming most reported *** and theoretical data revealed that the dual vacancies promoted the production of reactive oxygen species(O_(2)·^(-)andOH)and the adsorption of NO on the *** situ spectroscopy demonstrated that NO was preferentially adsorbed at Lewis acidic sites,particularly exposed Fe^(3+)sites,converted into NO+,and subsequently oxidized to NO3without the notable formation of the more toxic intermediate NO2,thereby alleviating risks associated with its production and emission.

Radio recombination lines（RRLs） are the best tracers of ionized gas. Simultaneous observations of multi-transitions of RRLs can significantly improve survey sensitivity. We conducted pilot RRL observations near the Sagittarius Arm tangent by using the 65-m Shanghai Tian Ma Radio Telescope（TMRT） equipped with broadband feeds and a digital backend. Six hydrogen RRLs（H96α-H101α）at C band（6289 MHz-7319 MHz） were observed simultaneously toward a sky area of 2°× 1.2° by using on-the-fly mapping mode. These transitions were then stacked together for detection of ionized gas. Star forming complexes G48.6＋0.1 and G49.5-0.3 were detected in the integrated intensity *** found agreements between our measured centroid velocities and previous results for the 21 known HII regions in the mapped area. For more than 80 cataloged HII region candidates without previous RRL measurements, we obtained new RRL spectra at 30 targeted positions. In addition, we detected 25 new discrete RRL sources with spectral S/N 〉 5σ, and they were not listed in the catalogs of previously known HII regions. The distances for 44 out of these 55 new RRL sources were estimated.

This paper studies a novel gas cyclone with a cylindrical fiter face installed in the center from the vortex finder to the bottom *** experimental results show that this composite cyclone has a higher collection fficiency and a lower pressure drop than the original *** mechanisms for the improvement are analyzed by both physical experiments and numerical *** measuring dust samples collected at different places it is revealed that the center filter can prevent fine particles from entering the inner vortex and escaping,which accounts for the increase of the collection *** addition,the flow field of the composite cyclone is simulated by computational fluid dynamics and compared with that of the original *** analysis shows that with the filter layer installed,the swirling flow disappears in the vortex finder,which decreases the kinetic energy dissipation and hence lowers the pressure drop.
