A tectono-thermal perspective on the petroleum generation,accumulation and preservation in the southern Ordos Basin, North China

The southern Ordos Basin has excellent petroleum exploration ***,the tectono-thermal history and the controls on petroleum generation,accumulation and preservation conditions in southern basin are *** this study,we analyzed the present geothermal field,paleo-geothermal gradient,maturity of the hydrocarbon source rocks,uplift and cooling process and tectono-thermal evolution *** the study area,for the Ordovician,Permain and the Triassic strata,the present temperature is low(3070℃)in the southeastern area but high(80140℃)in the northwestern *** paleogeothermal gradient varied from 24℃/km to 30℃/km with a heat flow of 58—69 m W/m^(2)(i.e.,a medium-temperature basin).The paleo-temperatures are higher than the present temperatures and the maximum paleo-temperatures controlled the thermal maturity of the source *** vitrinite reflectance(Ro)values of the Triassic strata are>0.7%and the thermal maturity reached the middlemature oil generation *** Rovalues of the Permian-Ordovician strata are>1.8%and the thermal maturity reached the over-mature gas generation *** southern Ordos Basin has experienced the multiple tectonic events at the Late Ordovician Caledonian(452 Ma),Late Triassic(215 Ma),Late Jurassic(165160 Ma),End-Early Cretaceous(110100 Ma)and Cenozoic(since 40 Ma).A large-scale tectonothermal event occurred at the End-Early Cretaceous(110100 Ma),which was controlled by lithospheric extension,destruction and *** event led to the highest paleo-temperatures and thermal maturities and coeval with the peak period of petroleum generation and *** southern Ordos Basin has undergone rapid and large-scale uplift since the Late Cretaceous due to expansion of the northeastern margin of the Tibetan Plateau,uplift of the Qinling orogenic belt and thrust faulting in the liupanshan tectonic *** southern Ordos Basin experienced tectonic overprinting that was strong in the south and weak in the *** str

Dynamic responses of K-type and inverted-K-type jacket support structures for offshore wind-turbines

The jacket structure has become more popular as the offshore wind-turbine support structure. K-type and inverted-K-type jacket support structures have superior potential due to their fewer joints and lower cost of manufacture and installation. A numerical study was presented on the dynamic responses of K-type and inverted-K-type jacket support structures subjected to different kinds of dynamic load. The results show that the inverted-K-type jacket structure has higher natural frequencies than the K-type. The wave force spectrum response shows that the maximum displacement of the K-type jacket structure is larger than that of the inverted-K-type. The time-history responses under wind and wave-current load indicate that the inverted-K-type jacket structure shows smaller displacement and stress compared with the K-type, and presents different stress concentration phenomena. The dynamic responses reveal that the inverted-K-type of jacket support structure has greater stiffness and superior mechanical properties, and thus is more applicable in the offshore area with relatively deep water.

Metabolites of Marine Fungus Aspergillus sp. Collected from Soft Coral Sarcophyton tortuosum

Fungus Aspergillus sp., which was isolated from soft coral Sarcophyton tortuosum, was cultured in the GPY medium containing glucose 10 g/L, peptone 5 g/L, yeast extract 2 g/L, sea water 1 L, at pH=7.5. Four com pounds, 3,6-diisobutyl-2（1H）-pyrazinone（1）, 3-isobutyl-6-（1-hydroxy-2-methylpropyl）-2（1H）-pyrazinone（2）, 3-methoxy-4-methyl-2,4-dien-pentanoic acid（3） and penicillic acid（4） were obtained from the AcOEt extract of the culture broth. Their structures were elucidated mainly based on the NMR, HR-EI-MS and X-ray single crystal diffraction experimental data. Compound 3 is a new compound. Compound 1 was previously proposed to be the tautomer of flavacol（3,6-diisobutylpyrazin-2-ol, 5）. However, the evaluation of the NMR and X-ray single crystal diffraction experimental data permitted us to propose that compound 1 existed as amide form instead oftautomers. Compound 1 is stable both in solution and crystal due to strong intermolecular hydrogen bonds. Incidentally supplying anthracenone to the GPY medium with a dose of 100 mg/L, the yield of penicillic acid（4） in the culture broth of the strain Aspergillus sp. was increased dramatically from 6 mg/L to 57 mg/L.

Engineering a High-Selectivity PVDF Hollow-Fiber Membrane for Cesium Removal

In this study,a copper ferrocyanide/silica/polyvinylidene fluoride(CuFC/SiO2/PVDF)hollow-fiber composite membrane was successfully synthesized through a facile and effective crosslinking *** PVDF hollow-fiber membrane with embedded SiO2 was used to fix the dispersion of CuFC nanoparticles for cesium(Cs)*** surface morphology and chemical composition of the composite membrane were analyzed using scanning electron microscopy and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS).The composite membrane showed a high Cs rejection rate and membrane flux at the three layers of CuFC and 0.5%SiO2,and its Cs rejection rate was not affected by variation in the pH(pH=4–10).The modified membrane could be effectively regenerated many times using ammonium nitrate(NH4NO3).The Cs selectivity performance was verified by an efficient Cs rejection rate(76.25%and 88.67%in 8 h)in a solution of 100 lg L 1 of Cs with 1 mmol L 1 of competing cations(K+and Na+).The CuFC/SiO2/PVDF hollowfiber composite membrane showed a particularly superior removal performance(greater than 90%)in natural surface water and simulated water with a low Cs ***,the CuFC/SiO2/PVDF hollow-fiber composite membrane can be used directly in engineering applications for the remediation of radioactive Cs-contaminated water.

Sustainably integrating desalination with solar power to overcome future freshwater scarcity in China

Freshwater resources and energy are the two material foundations of human survival and the two challenges for human sustainable development. China's huge population needs a large amount of freshwater for basic necessities. Desalination is an intelligent and promising technology for increasing water resources to realize a sustainable supply of freshwater. However, high levels of energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions have restricted the development of desalination. Solar energy has the unique advantage that it can be harnessed in different forms. This paper discusses the water resources and solar energy utilization status in China and presents a comprehensive review on a possible solution: coupling desalination technologies with sustainable energy. China's desalination market is reviewed, and the energy consumption for several desalination processes is summarized to present a brief outlook of desalination techniques in China. Potential coupled methods for solar-powered desalination are compared. This study will facilitate understanding of the latent water crisis in China and help China's desalination market transition from conventional energy sources to choose an appropriate solar-powered desalination process.

GLOBAL FINITE ELEMENT NONliNEAR GALERKIN METHOD FOR THE PENAliZED NAVIER-STOKES EQUATIONS

A global finite element nonlinear Galerkin method for the penalized Navier-Stokes equations is presented. This method is based on two finite element spaces XH and Xh, defined respectively on one coarse grid with grid size H and one fine grid with grid size h 0 being the penalty parameter, then two methods are of the same order of approximation. However, the global finite element nonlinear Galerkin method is much cheaper than the standard finite element Galerkin method. In fact, in the finite element Galerkin method the nonlinearity is treated on the fine grid finite element space Xh and while in the global finite element nonlinear Galerkin method the similar nonlinearity is treated on the coarse grid finite element space XH and only the linearity needs to be treated on the fine grid incremeat finite element space Wh. Finally, we provide numerical test which shows above results stated.

Ru(bpy)3]2+-cored supramolecular organic framework SMOF-1, assembled from a [Ru(bpy)3]2+-derived hexaarmed molecule and cucurbit[8]uril, has been demonstrated to heterogeneously catalyze visible light-induced reduction of phenyl, benzyl, 2-phenylethyl and 3-phenylpropyl azides in acetonitrile to produce the corresponding amines in good to high yields. For the last two kinds of azides that bear a CO2Me group at the para-position of the benzene ring, cascade reactions take place to generate the corresponding lactams in high yields. Compared with homogeneous control [Ru(bpy)3]Cl2, SMOF-1 exhibits remarkably increased photocatalysis activity as a result of synergistic effect of the [Ru(bpy)3]2+ units that form cubic cages to host the azide molecules and related intermediates. Moreover, SMOF-1 displays high recyclability and considerable photocatalysis activity after 3 to 12 runs.
