Highly efficient pH-universal hydrogen evolution reaction catalyzed by rapidly reconstructed bimetallic cobalt-molybdenum alloy cuboids arrays

Given the inherent potential of seawater,industrial wastewater,and residential water as inherent feedstocks for hydrogen production through water electrolysis,there is a critical demand for the exploration of robust and stable hydrogen-evolving catalysts that can operate effectively across a diverse range of pH ***,the pursuit of hydrogen-evolving electrocatalysts that demonstrate both good stability and high efficiency over a wide pH range remains a formidable *** we report the rational design and synthesis of an outstanding nanoporous hybrid electrocatalyst consisting of intermetallic cobalt-molybdenum alloy particles anchoring on MoO2 cuboid arrays,which demands very low overpotentials of 72,123 and 134 mV to deliver a current density of−100 mA·cm^(−2)for hydrogen evolution reaction under alkaline,neutral and acidic conditions,*** catalytic activities are superior to most non-precious-metal-based catalysts documented in the literatures,and are even comparable to noble metal *** particular,this alloy electrocatalyst exhibits excellent stability at 50 or 300 mA·cm^(−2)without obvious activity degradation,which is further supported by the undetectable changes in the surface chemical valence states on the basis of in-situ X-ray photoelectron spectroscopic *** study provides an innovative strategy for the design and synthesis of effective non-noble intermetallic catalysts for pH-universal hydrogen evolution over a wide pH range.

DGConv: A Novel Convolutional Neural Network Approach for Weld Seam Depth Image Detection

We propose a novel image segmentation algorithm to tackle the challenge of limited recognition and segmentation performance in identifying welding seam images during robotic intelligent ***,to enhance the capability of deep neural networks in extracting geometric attributes from depth images,we developed a novel deep geometric convolution operator(DGConv).DGConv is utilized to construct a deep local geometric feature extraction module,facilitating a more comprehensive exploration of the intrinsic geometric information within depth ***,we integrate the newly proposed deep geometric feature module with the Fully Convolutional Network(FCN8)to establish a high-performance deep neural network algorithm tailored for depth image ***,we enhance the FCN8 detection head by separating the segmentation and classification *** enhancement significantly boosts the network’s overall detection ***,for a comprehensive assessment of our proposed algorithm and its applicability in real-world industrial settings,we curated a line-scan image dataset featuring weld *** dataset,named the Standardized linear Depth Profile(SLDP)dataset,was collected from actual industrial sites where autonomous robots are in ***,we conducted experiments utilizing the SLDP dataset,achieving an average accuracy of 92.7%.Our proposed approach exhibited a remarkable performance improvement over the prior method on the identical ***,we have successfully deployed the proposed algorithm in genuine industrial environments,fulfilling the prerequisites of unmanned robot operations.

An overview of detecting gene-trait associations by integrating GWAS summary statistics and eQTLs

Detecting genes that affect specific traits(such as human diseases and crop yields)is important for treating complex diseases and improving crop quality.A genome-wide association study(GWAS)provides new insights and directions for understanding complex traits by identifying important single nucleotide *** GWAS summary statistics data related to various complex traits have been gathered *** have shown that GWAS risk loci and expression quantitative trait loci(e QTLs)often have a lot of overlaps,which makes gene expression gradually become an important intermediary to reveal the regulatory role of *** this review,we review three types of gene-trait association detection methods of integrating GWAS summary statistics and e QTLs data,namely colocalization methods,transcriptome-wide association study-oriented approaches,and Mendelian randomization-related *** the theoretical level,we discussed the differences,relationships,advantages,and disadvantages of various algorithms in the three kinds of gene-trait association detection *** further discuss the performance of various methods,we summarize the significant gene sets that influence highdensity lipoprotein,low-density lipoprotein,total cholesterol,and triglyceride reported in 16 *** discuss the performance of various algorithms using the datasets of the four lipid *** advantages and limitations of various algorithms are analyzed based on experimental results,and we suggest directions for follow-up studies on detecting gene-trait associations.

The jasmonate pathway promotes nodule symbiosis and suppresses host plant defense in Medicago truncatula

Root nodule symbiosis(RNs)between legumes and rhizobia is a major source of nitrogen in agricultural *** symbiosis requires precise regulation of plant defense *** role of the defense hormone jasmonic acid(JA)in the immune response has been extensively *** research shows that JA can play either a positive or negative regulatory role in RNS depending on its concentration,but the molecular mechanisms remain to be *** this study,we found that inoculation with the rhizobia Sm1021 induces the JA pathway in Medicago truncatula,and blocking the JA pathway significantly reduces the number of infection *** in the MtMYc2 gene,which encodes a JA signaling master transcription factor,significantly inhibited rhizobia infection,terminal differentiation,and symbiotic cell *** RNA sequencing and chromatin immunoprecipitation sequencing,we discovered that MtMYc2 regulates the expression of nodule-specific MtDNF2,MtNAD1,and MtSymCRK to suppress host defense,while it activates MtDNF1 expression to regulate the maturation of MtNCRs,which in turn promotes bacteroid *** importantly,MtMYC2 participates in symbiotic signal transduction by promoting the expression of ***,the MtMYC2-MtiPD3 transcriptional regulatory module is specifically present in legumes,and the Mtmyc2 mutants are susceptible to the infection by the pathogen Rhizoctonia ***,these findings reveal the molecular mechanisms of how the JA pathway regulates RNS,broadening our understanding of the roles of JA in plant-microbe interactions.

Microglia are resident macrophage cells in the central nervous system that search for pathogens or abnormal neural activities and migrate to resolve the *** effective search and targeted motion of macrophages mean dearly to maintaining a healthy brain,yet little is known about their migration *** this work,we study microglial motion with and without the presence of external *** discover that the cells are promptly attracted by the applied forces(i.e.,mechanotaxis),which is a tactic behavior as yet unconfirmed in ***,in both the explorative and the targeted migration,microglia display dynamics that is strikingly analogous to bacterial run-and-tumble motion.A closer examination reveals that microglial run-and-tumble is more sophisticated,e.g.,they display a short-term memory when tumbling and rely on active steering during runs to achieve mechanotaxis,probably via the responses of mechanosensitive ion *** differences reflect the sharp contrast between microglia and bacteria cells(eukaryotes ***)and their environments(compact tissue ***).Further analyses suggest that the reported migration dynamics has an optimal search efficiency and is shared among a subset of immune cells(human monocyte and macrophage).This work reveals a fruitful analogy between the locomotion of 2 remote systems and provides a framework for studying immune cells exploring complex environments.

Axial-torsional nonlinear vibration of bottom hole assembly in the air drilling technology

The safety and efficiency of drilling engineering are greatly impeded by destructive vibrations of drill string in air drilling, such as stick-slip, bit-bounce and their coupled vibrations. To avoid or suppress these vibrations improving the stability of drilling operations, revealing the occurrence mechanisms of abovementioned harmful vibrations are indispensable by investigating dynamics characteristics of drill string system. In this paper, an axial-torsional coupled dynamics model that can capture the motion behaviors of bottom hole assembly (BHA) is established adopting the lumped parameter method. Subsequently, a rate of penetration (ROP) model appropriating for air drilling is obtained firstly by linear fitting means. Meanwhile, a novel discontinuous support model is established to describe the bitformation interactions. Then, BHA dynamics are discussed using numerical simulations under different vibration scenarios: normal operation; stick-slip; bit-bounce; bit-bounce and stick-slip combination. Subsequently, in two drilling modes: the continuous and intermittent drilling, the vibration mitigation strategies and dynamics sensibility study of BHA are carried out based on the parametric analysis. The results show that increasing torsional stiffness of drill-pipes, appropriately adjusting rotation speed of top driven system and dynamic weight on bit (WOB) are deemed as an effective strategy suppressing or eliminating stick-slip and bit-bounce vibrations of BHA. Suggest that the rotation speed of top driven system and dynamic WOB are 5 rad/s and 3.5 kN, respectively. Finally, the constructed probability maps allow to driller to choose reasonable mechanical parameters, thereby realizing smooth drilling operation in the air drilling. Sequence-Controlled Synthesis of Alternating Poly(ester amide)s using Water as Control Agent in One-Pot

Poly(ester amide)s(PEAs)attract much attention as a new kind of biodegradable ***,the synthesis of PEAs with sequence-regulated chain structures is still complicated due to the multistep polymerization,high monomer purity,as well as the usage of organic solvents,which greatly inhibits its development and ***,a one-pot strategy without solvent was developed to synthesize the alternating PEA fromα,ω-amino alcohol and dicarboxylic acid by sequential polycondensation,where water was used as the controlling agent for amidation and ***,the amidation and esterification were controlled to proceed in turn by adding or removing water,realizing the one-pot preparation of alternating *** resultant PEA is characterized by^1H-and^(13)C-NMR,and its chain structure is confirmed to be highly quasi-alternating similar to alternating PEAs prepared by classical methods The evaluations from DSC and DMA demonstrate that the properties of quasi-alternating PEA(T_(m)=102℃,ΔH_(m)=30J·g^(-1))are far superior to those of random PEA(T_(m)=72℃,ΔH_(m)<1 J·g^(-1)).
