Nausea and vomiting are important defensive responses to cope with pathogens and toxins that invade the body. The nucleus of the solitary tract(NTS) is important for initiating these responses. However, the molecular heterogeneities and cellular diversities of the NTS occlude a better understanding of these defensive responses. Here, we constructed the single-nucleus transcriptomic atlas of NTS cells and found multiple populations of NTS neurons that may be involved in these defensive responses. Among these, we identified Calbindin1-positive(Calb1+) NTS neurons that are molecularly distinct from Tac1+neurons.These Calb1+neurons are critical for nausea and retching induced by cereulide; an emetic toxin secreted by Bacillus Cereus. Strikingly, we found that cereulide can directly modulate vagal sensory neurons that innervate Calb1+NTS neurons, a novel mechanism distinct from that for nausea and retching induced by Staphylococcal enterotoxin A. Together, our transcriptomic atlas of NTS neurons and the functional analyses revealed the neural mechanism for cereulide-induced retching-like behavior. These results demonstrate the molecular and cellular complexities in the brain that underlie defensive responses to the diversities of pathogens and toxins.

Food allergy has become a global concern. Spleen tyrosine kinase (SYK) inhibitors are promising therapeutics against allergic disorders. In this study， a total of 300 natural phenolic compounds were firstly subjected to virtual screening. Sesamin and its metabolites， sesamin monocatechol (SC-1) and sesamin dicatechol (SC-2)， were identified as potential SYK inhibitors， showing high binding affinity and inhibition efficiency towards SYK. Compared with R406 (a traditional SYK inhibitor)， sesamin， SC-1， and SC-2 had lower binding energy and inhibition constant (Ki) during molecular docking， exhibited higher bioavailability， safety， metabolism/clearance rate， and distribution uniformity ADMET predictions， and showed high stability in occupying the ATP-binding pocket of SYK during molecular dynamics simulations. In anti-dinitrophenyl-immunoglobulin E (Anti-DNP-IgE)/dinitrophenyl-human serum albumin (DNP-HSA)-stimulated rat basophilic leukemia (RBL-2H3) cells， sesamin in the concentration range of (5 – 80) μmol/L influenced significantly the degranulation and cytokine release， with 54.00% inhibition against β-hexosaminidase release and 58.45% decrease in histamine. In BALB/c mice， sesamin could ameliorate Anti-DNP-IgE/DNP-HSA-induced passive cutaneous anaphylaxis and ovalbumin (OVA)-induced active systemic anaphylaxis reactions， reduce the levels of allergic mediators (immunoglobulins and pro-inflammatory cytokines)， partially correct the imbalance of T helper (Th) cells differentiation in the spleen， and inhibit the phosphorylation of SYK and its downstream signaling proteins， including p38 mitogen-activated protein kinases (p38 MAPK)， extracellular signal-regulated kinases (ERK)， and p65 nuclear factor-κB (p65 NF-κB) in the spleen. Thus， sesamin may be a safe and versatile SYK inhibitor that can alleviate IgE-mediated food allergies.

Catalytic technologies have been paid increasing attention in refractory pollutants abatement due to its practical and potential values in water purification. As effective and efficient approaches for water purification, Fenton＇s reagent, ozonation, electrochemical and photocatalytic methods have been widely studied and applied in different aspects and have been reviewed by several articles. In recent years, some novel catalytic processes based on above processes have been developed for enhancing the efficiency of removing the organics from water. This review emphasized on the recent development of heterogeneous catalytic ozonation, electrocatalysis in respect of novel electrodes and electro-Fenton method, photoelectrocatalysis process and photoelectron-Fenton in water purification. It was also an attempt to propose general ideas about mechanism and principle enhancing the catalytic efficiency for the degradation and the mineralization of organics in water.

A novel method for multi-angle SAR image matching

Multi-angle synthetic aperture radar（SAR） image matching is very challenging, because the same object may cause different backscattering patterns, heavily depending on the radar incident angle. A technique based on the relations between the invariant positions of ground targets among the reference and sensed images is proposed to accommodate the nonmatching patterns. It involves a target extraction using wavelet coefficient fusion, as well as a geometric voting matching routine for searching the matched control points（CPs） in the reference and sensed images, respectively. To accelerate the speed of the search, a robust, rapidly corresponding CPs determination strategy is exploited by utilizing the global spatial transformation model, as well as a procedure of outlier removal to ensure the desired accuracy. Meanwhile, the positions of the matched point pairs are relocated using mutual information. The final warping of the images according to the CPs is performed by using a polynomial function. The results show the possibility of matching multi-angle SAR images in general cases.

Traditional computing method is inefficient for getting key dynamical parameters of complicated structure.Pseudo Excitation Method（PEM）is an effective method for calculation of random vibration.Due to complicated and coupling random vibration in rocket or shuttle launching,the new staging white noise mathematical model is deduced according to the practical launch environment.This deduced model is applied for PEM to calculate the specific structure of Time of Flight Counter（ToFC）.The responses of power spectral density and the relevant dynamic characteristic parameters of ToFC are obtained in terms of the flight acceptance test level.Considering stiffness of fixture structure,the random vibration experiments are conducted in three directions to compare with the revised PEM.The experimental results show the structure can bear the random vibration caused by launch without any damage and key dynamical parameters of ToFC are obtained.The revised PEM is similar with random vibration experiment in dynamical parameters and responses are proved by comparative results.The maximum error is within 9%.The reasons of errors are analyzed to improve reliability of calculation.This research provides an effective method for solutions of computing dynamical characteristic parameters of complicated structure in the process of rocket or shuttle launching.

The excreta of pig is generally utilized to induce pigs to excrete in particular area,which reduces the subsequent work required to clean pens.This paper discussed a new induction device design based on the biological characteristics of pigs.Using different induction materials in the devices,the frequency and location of the excretory behavior of pigs through five treatments and a control group were compared.According to the results,different induction methods had significant(p<0.05)effects on frequency and duration of excretory behavior.Compared to the conventional induction method,the induction devices were significantly(p<0.05)more effective in training pigs to excrete in the assigned area,the most effective material used in the induction devices was feces.If the inductive feces had been preserved in the air for a longer time,the effect of inducing excretory behavior would have been more obvious.Empty devices did not work to induce pigs to excrete in the induction area.
