Exploring changes of precipitation extremes under climate change through global variable-resolution modeling

Understanding the responses of precipitation extremes to global climate change remains limited owing to their poor representations in models and complicated interactions with multi-scale *** we take the record-breaking precipitation over china in 2021 as an example,and study its changes under three different climate scenarios through a developed pseudo-global-warming(PGW)experimental framework with 60-3 km variable-resolution global ensemble *** to the present climate,the precipitation extreme under a warmer(cooler)climate increased(decreased)in intensity,coverage,and total amount at a range of 24.3%-37.8%(18.7%-56.1%).With the help of the proposed PGW experimental framework,we further reveal the impacts of the multi-scale system interactions in climate change on the precipitation *** the warmer climate,large-scale water vapor transport converged from double typhoons and the subtropical high marched into central china,enhancing the convective energy and instability on the leading edge of the transport *** a result,the mesoscale convective system(Mcs)that directly contributed to the precipitation extreme became stronger than that in the present *** the contrary,the cooler climate displayed opposite changing characteristics relative to the warmer climate,ranging from the large-scale systems to local environments and to the *** summary,our study provides a promising approach to scientifically assess the response of precipitation extremes to climate change,making it feasible to perform ensemble simulations while investigating the multi-scale system interactions over the globe.

Previous studies have shown that trans fatty acids(TFA) are associated with several chronic diseases,the gut microbiota is directly influenced by dietary components and linked to chronic *** research investigated the effects of elaidic acid(EA),a typical TFA,on the gut microbiota to understand the underlying mechanisms of TFA-related chronic diseases.16S rDNA gene sequencing on faecal samples from Sprague-Dawley rats were performed to explore the composition change of the gut microbiota by EA gavage for 4 *** results showed that the intake of EA increased the abundance of well-documented harmful bacteria,such as Proteobacteria,Anaerotruncus,Oscillibacter and ***,EA induced translocation of lipopolysaccharides(LPS) and the above pathogenic bacteria,disrupted the intestinal barrier,led to gut-liver axis derangement and TLR4 pathway activation in the ***,EA induced intestinal barrier damage and regulated TLR4-MyD88-NF-κB/MAPK pathways in the liver of SD rats,leading to the activation of NLRP3 inflammasome and inflammatory liver damage.

Training samples for deep learning networks are typically obtained through various field experiments,which require significant manpower,resource and time ***,it is possible to utilize simulated data to augment the training *** this paper,by comparing the actual experimental model with the simulated model generated by the gprMax[1]forward simulation method,the feasibility of obtaining simulated samples through gprMax simulation is ***,the samples generated by gprMax forward simulation are used for training the network to detect objects in existing real *** the same time,aiming at the detection and intelligent recognition of road sub-surface defects,the Swin-YOLOX algorithm is introduced,and the excellence of the detection network,which is improved by augmenting the simulated samples with real samples,is further *** comparing the prediction performance of the object detection models,it is observed that the model trained with mixed samples achieved a recall of 94.74%and a mean average precision(maP)of 97.71%,surpassing the model trained only on real samples by 12.95%and 15.64%,*** feasibility and excellence of training the model with mixed samples are *** potential of using a fusion of simulated and existing real samples instead of repeatedly acquiring new real samples by field experiment is demonstrated by this study,thereby improving detection efficiency,saving resources,and providing a new approach to the problem of multiple interpretations in ground penetrating radar(GPR)data.

Three kinds of iron nanoparticles(FeNPs)were prepared via green route based on pomegranate(PG),green tea(GT),and mulberry(ML)extracts under ambient *** obtained materials were characterized by scanning electron microscopy(SEM),transmission electronic microscopy(TEM),X-ray energy-dispersive spectrometer(EDS),X-ray diffraction(XRD),fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)*** experimental results show that FeNPs were in the form of amorphous iron(Ⅱ,Ⅲ)-polyphenol complex with different dispersity and ***-Fe has the smallest size range of 25-35 nm,PG-Fe has a moderate size-distribution of 30-40 nm,while ML-Fe formed a tuberous net-type with a sheeting ***-Fe displays the highest removal efficiency of 90.2%in 20 min towards cationic dye of malachite green(16.6%by ML-Fe and 69.3%by GT-Fe),which is attributed to its highest polyphenol content,lowest zeta potential,as well as the most Fe^(2+)on the surface of *** removal mechanism was mainly induced by electrostatic adsorption based on pH and zeta potential tests.

A set of standard chronologies for tree-ring width(TRW),earlywood width(EWW)and latewood width(LWW)in Pinus tabuliformis *** an altitudi-nal gradient(1450,1400,and 1350 m a.s.l.)on Baiyunshan Mountain,central china to analyze the effect of varying temperature and precipitation on growth along the *** analyses showed that at all three altitudes and the TRW and EWW chronologies generally had signifi-cant negative correlations with mean and maximum tem-peratures in the current April and May and with minimum temperatures in the prior July and August,but significant positive correlations with precipitation in the current *** were generally significantly negative between LWW chronologies and all temperatures in the prior July and August,indicating that the prior summer temperature had a strong lag effect on the growth of *** that increased with *** correlation with the standard-ized precipitation evapotranspiration index(SPEI)confirmed that wet conditions in the current May promoted growth of TR and EW at all *** altitudinal differences were also found;at 1400 m,there were significant positive correlations between EWW chronologies and SPEI in the current April and significant negative correlations between LWW chronologies and SPEI in the current September,but these correlations were not significant at 1450 *** 1350 m,there were also significant negative correlations between the TRW and the EWW chronologies and SPEI in the prior October and the current July and between LWW chronology and SPEI in the current August,but these cor-relations were not significant at 1400 *** correlation results showed a stable response of EWW in relation to the SPEI in the current May at all three altitudes and of LWW to maximum temperature in the prior July-August at 1400 m from 2002 to *** EWW chronology at 1400 m and the LWW chronology at 1450 m were identified as more suitable for climate reconstruction.T

Steam reforming of long-chain hydrocarbon fuels for hydrogen production has received great attention for thermal management of the hypersonic vehicle and fuel-cell *** this work,Pt catalysts supported on ceO_(2)and Tb-doped ceO_(2)were prepared by a precipitation *** physical structure and chemical properties of the as-prepared catalysts were characterized by powder X-ray diffraction,scanning electron microscopy,transmission electron microscopy,Raman spectroscopy,H_(2)temperature programmed reduction,and X-ray photoelectron *** results show that Tb-doped ceO_(2)supported Pt possesses abundant surface oxygen vacancies,good inhibition of ceria sintering,and strong metal-support interaction compared with ceO_(2)supported *** catalytic performance of hydrogen production via steam reforming of long-chain hydrocarbon fuels(n-dodecane)was *** with 2Pt/ceO_(2),2Pt/ce_(0.9)Tb_(0.1)O_(2),and 2Pt/ce_(0.5)Tb_(0.5)O_(2),the 2Pt/ce_(0.7)Tb_(0.3)O_(2)has higher activity and stability for hydrogen production,on which the conversion of n-dodecane was maintained at about 53.2%after 600 min reaction under 700℃at liquid space velocity of 9 ml·g^(-1)·h^(-1).2Pt/ceO_(2)rapidly deactivated,the conversion of n-dodecane was reduced to only 41.6%after 600 min.

TiAl intermetallic could be used to replace Ni-based alloy in assemblies to generate excellent specific strength.A(Ti,Zr)-Ni-based amorphous filler metal Ti_(21.25)Zr_(25)Ni_(25)cu_(18.75)(at.%)was designed using a cluster-plus-glue-atom model to successfully vacuum braze K4169 and TiAl bimetallic *** various brazing temperatures and holding time,the quantitative relationships between lattice distortion,grain boundary,dislocation density,and hardness,elastic modulus,shear strength of the joints were ***,the fracture mechanism of the joints was *** brazed seam mainly consisted of solid diffusion reaction layers(ZonesⅠandⅢ)and filler metal residue zone(ZoneⅡ).When the brazing temperature increased to 1030℃,grain refinement occurred in the brazed ***Ⅰwas primarily composed of(Ni)ss[0-11]+TiNi[011]/(cr,Fe,Ni)ss[0-11]/(Ti,Zr)Ni[0-1-1]+(cr,Fe,Ni)ss[0-11].The(Ti,Zr)(Ni,cu)[001]and(Ti,Zr)(Ni,cu)[101]intermetallic compound-based solid solutions were formed in ZoneⅡ.And the lattice distortion of(Ti,Zr)(Ni,cu)[101]and(Ti,Zr)(Ni,cu)[001]was 32.05%and 14.82%,*** a result,the proportion of low angle grain boundaries(LAGBs)and deformed grains in ZoneⅡrose to 38.6%and 38.7%.In ZonesⅠandⅢ,the proportion of LAGBs reduced to 8%and 3.4%,*** the holding time increased,the long-range diffusion of Al in ZoneⅡcaused the(Ti,Zr)(Ni,cu)[001]with cubic structure to transform into(Ti,Zr)(Ni,cu,Al)[00-1]with hexagonal crystal system structure,where the lattice distortion was 4.42%and 10.49%for a and *** 1030℃/10 min,the average geometrically nec-essary dislocation densities(GNDs)in ZonesⅠ,ⅡandⅢwere 9.87×10^(14)m^(-2),8.55×10^(14)m^(-2)and 11.4×10^(14)m^(-2),***,the shear strength of joints reached 322 MPa due to the lattice distortion,dislocation strengthening and fine grain ***,the plastic and brittle hard phases were generated in ZoneⅡand displayed a mechanical interlocking structure tha

Polymer-based circularly polarized luminescence(cPL)materials with the advantage of diversified structure,easy fabrication,high thermal stability,and tunable properties have garnered considerable ***,adequate and precise tuning over cPL in polymer-based materials remains challenging due to the difficulty in regulating chiral ***,visualized full-color cPL is achieved by doping red,green,and blue quantum dots(QDs)into reconfigurable blue phase liquid crystal elastomers(BPLcEs).In contrast to the cPL signal observed in cholesteric liquid crystal elastomers(cLcEs),the chiral 3D cubic superstructure of BPLcEs induces an opposite cPL ***,this effect is entirely independent of photonic bandgaps(PBGs)and results in a high glum value,even without matching between PBGs and the emission bands of ***,the lattice structure of the BPLcEs can be reversibly switched via mechanical stretching force,inducing on-off switching of the cPL signals,and these variations can be further fixed using dynamic disulfide bonds in the ***,the smart polymer-based cPL systems using the BPLcEs for anti-counterfeiting and information encryption have been demonstrated,suggesting the great potential of the BPLcEs-based cPL active materials.

Background The exudative form of age-related macular degeneration(AMD)is characterized by abnormal blood vessel growth,which is stimulated by vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)released from retinal pigment epithelium(RPE).The angiogenic behaviors of vascular endothelial cells in vitro depend on forkhead box protein P1(Foxp1),a transcription repressor widely expressed in human and murine tissues during *** this study,we aimed to determine whether loss of Foxp1 affects laser-induced choroidal neovascularization(cNV)in *** Eye-selective deletion of Foxp1 was obtained by crossing Foxp1flox/flox with Six3-cre *** photocoagulation was delivered to six-to eight-week-old mice to induce *** expression of Foxp1 and cre was determined by immunofluorescence in cryostat sections of the *** fluorescein angiography(FFA),optical coherence tomography(OcT),and B4 isolectin staining were applied to analyze the leakage,bulge height,and area of cNV lesions,***-choroid tissues were isolated for the determination of VEGF and pigment epithelium derived factor(PEDF)by Western *** Foxp1 was expressed in retinal ganglion cells,RPE,and the choroidal endothelial *** photocoagulation increased the number of Foxp1+-endothelial cells and induced ***3-cre reduced Foxp1 expression in RPE but not the endothelium,leading to a lower level of VEGF in the ***1 knockout inhibited pathological angiogenesis and vascular leakage of the laser-induced cNV *** Foxp1 regulates the expression of VEGF in the RPE,and inhibition of Foxp1 could potentially be a novel strategy for the prevention and therapy of neovascularization related to AMD.
