This study addresses the challenge of high sintering temperatures in proton-conducting fuel cells（PCFCs）with BaCeO3-doped *** demonstrate that 1 mol% copper（Cu） doping at the B-site of BaCe0.7Zr0.1(Dy0.1|Yb0.1)0.2O3-δ（BCZDYb） improves sintering behavior,enabling densification at1400℃.However,Cu doping disrupts stoichiometry,creating barium vacancies and reducing protonaccepting cations,affecting overall *** mechanism is confirmed through density functional theory（DFT） calculations and various experimental techniques,including crystal structure analysis using X-ray diffraction（XRD） and morphology and elemental analysis via field emission scanning electron microscopy（FESEM） and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy（EDS）.Electrochemical measurements are performed using the electrochemical impedance spectroscopy（EIS）.The ionic conductivity of1 mol% Cu-doped BCZDYb（BCZDYb-1） is 1.49×10-2S cm-1at 650℃,which is～3.58 times higher than that of BCZDYb sintered at 1200℃.The BCZDYb-1 exhibits ～16 times higher grain boundary conductivity when sintered at 1400℃,compared to undoped *** single cell employing BCZDYb-1 as the electrolyte achieved a power density of ～606 mW cm-2at 550℃.These results indicate that a controlled amount of Cu doping can enhance densification while maintaining high ionic co nductivity,making it suitable for practical applications in PCFCs operating at lower temperatures.

In this study,non-thermal plasma(NTP)was employed to modify the Cu/TiO_(2)adsorbent to efficiently purify H_(2)S in low-temperature and micro-oxygen *** effects of Cu loading amounts and atmospheres of NTP treatment on the adsorption-oxidation performance of the adsorbents were *** NTP modification successfully boosted the H_(2)S removal capacity to varying degrees,and the optimized adsorbent treated by air plasma(Cu/TiO_(2)-Air)attained the best H_(2)S breakthrough capacity of 113.29 mg H_(2)S/gadsorbent,which was almost 5 times higher than that of the adsorbent without NTP *** studies demonstrated that the superior performance of Cu/TiO_(2)-Air was attributed to increased mesoporous volume,more exposure of active sites(CuO)and functional groups(amino groups and hydroxyl groups),enhanced Ti-O-Cu interaction,and the favorable ratio of active oxygen ***,the X-ray diffraction(XRD)and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)results indicated the main reason for the deactivationwas the consumption of the active components(CuO)and the agglomeration of reaction products(CuS and SO_(4)^(2−))occupying the active sites on the surface and the inner pores of the adsorbents.

Finesse is a critical parameter for describing the characteristics of an optical enhancement cavity(OEC). This paper first presents a review of finesse measurement techniques, including a comparative analysis of the advantages, disadvantages, and potential limitations of several main methods from both theoretical and practical perspectives. A variant of the existing method called the free spectral range(FSR) modulation method is proposed and compared with three other finesse measurement methods, i.e., the fast-switching cavity ring-down(CRD) method, the rapidly swept-frequency(SF) CRD method, and the ringing effect method. A high-power OEC platform with a high finesse of approximately 16000 is built and measured with the four methods. The performance of these methods is compared, and the results show that the FSR modulation method and the fast-switching CRD method are more suitable and accurate than the other two methods for high-finesse OEC measurements. The CRD method and the ringing effect method can be implemented in open loop using simple equipment and are easy to perform. Additionally, recommendations for selecting finesse measurement methods under different conditions are proposed, which benefit the development of OEC and its applications.

Shielding materials are critical for downhole pulsed neutron tool design because they directly influence the accuracy of formation measurements.A well-designed shield configuration ensures that the response of the tool is maximally representative of the formation without being affected by the tool and borehole *** study investigated the effects of boron-containing materials on neutron and gamma detectors based on a newly designed logging-while-drilling tool that is currently undergoing *** the boron content increased,the ability to absorb thermal neutrons increased *** simulation,it was proven that boron carbide(B_(4)C)can be used as an effective boron shielding material for thermal neutrons,and is therefore employed in this *** shield against thermal neutrons migrating from the mud pipes,the optimal shielding thicknesses for the near-and far-neutron detectors were determined to be 5 and 4 *** a porosity of 25 p.u.,near-neutron sensitivity exhibited a 5.6%***,to shield the capture gamma generated by thermal neutrons once they enter the tool from the mud pipe and formation,internal and external shields for the gamma detector were *** results show that the internal shield requires a boron content of 75%,whereas the external shield has a thickness of 14.2 mm thickness and a boron content of 25%to minimize the tool effect.

Background Insulin-like growth factor binding protein-related protein 1 （IGFBPrP1） can activate hepatic stellate cells and increase extracellular matrix （ECM） in vitro. However, the effects of IGFBPrP1 in mice with hepatic fibrosis, and the mechanisms of these effects, are currently unknown. We aim to address these issues in this study. Methods Intraperitoneal injection of thioacetamide （TAA） is a classic method for establishing a mouse model of hepatic fibrosis. Using this model, we administered anti-IGFBPrP1 antibody, again via intraperitoneal injection. The morphological changes of liver fibrosis were observed with both HE and Masson stainning. The immunohistochemical assays and Western blotting were used to measure changes in IGFBPrP1, a-smooth muscle actin （a-SMA） and ECM in liver tissues, and the expression of transforming growth factor-β1 （TGF-β1） and Smad3. Data were statistically analyzed using one-way analysis of variance （ANOVA）, the SNK-q test for inter-group differences. Results The Masson staining analysis showed that compared with normal control group, content of collagen fiber in TAA5w group was significantly increased （P 〈0.01）, and it was significantly decreased in TAA5w/alGFBPrP1 group compared with in TAA5w group （P 〈0.01）. The expression of hepatic IGFBPrP1, a-SMA, TGF-β1, Smad3, collagen 1 and fibronectin （FN） was significantly up-regulated in the TAA5w group （P 〈0.01）. Anti-IGFBPrP1 treatment reversed these changes （P 〈0.01）. Conclusions IGFBPrP1 plays an important role in the development of hepatic fibrosis. Anti-IGFBPrP1 prevents fibrosis in mice by suppressing the activation of hepatic stellate cells, inhibiting the synthesis of major components of the ECM （namely, collagen I and FN）. The mechanism for this suppression of fibrosis is associated with the TGF-β1/Smad3 signaling pathways.

Wing dimorphism is regarded as an important phenotypic plasticity involved in the migration and reproduction of ***,the signal transduction and regulatory mechanism of wing dimorphism in aphids are still ***,the optimal environmental conditions were first explored for inducing winged offspring of green peach aphid,and the short photoperiod was the most important environmental cue to regulate wing *** to 16 L:8 D photoperiod,the proportion of winged offspring increased to 90%under 8 L:16 D ***,5 differentially expressed microRNAs(miRNAs)in aphids treated with long and short photoperiods were identified using small RNA sequencing,and a novel miR-3040 was identified as a vital miRNA involved in photoperiod-mediated wing *** specifically,the inhibition of miR-3040 expression could reduce the proportion of winged offspring induced by short photoperiod,whereas its activation increased the proportion of winged offspring under long ***,the expression level of miR-3040 in winged aphids was about 2.5 times that of wingless aphids,and the activation or inhibition of miR-3040 expression could cause wing deformity,revealing the dual-role regulator of miR-3040 in wing dimorphism and wing *** summary,the current study identified the key environmental cue for wing dimorphism in green peach aphid,and the first to demonstrate the dual-role regulator of miR-3040 in photoperiod-mediated wing dimorphism and wing development.

Hydrogen sulfide reduces oxidative stress in Huntington's disease via Nrf2

The pathophysiology of Huntington's disease involves high levels of the neurotoxin quinolinic acid. Quinolinic acid accumulation results in oxidative stress, which leads to neurotoxicity. However, the molecular and cellular mechanisms by which quinolinic acid contributes to Huntington's disease pathology remain unknown. In this study, we established in vitro and in vivo models of Huntington's disease by administering quinolinic acid to the PC12 neuronal cell line and the striatum of mice, respectively. We observed a decrease in the levels of hydrogen sulfide in both PC12 cells and mouse serum, which was accompanied by down-regulation of cystathionine β-synthase, an enzyme responsible for hydrogen sulfide production. However, treatment with NaHS(a hydrogen sulfide donor) increased hydrogen sulfide levels in the neurons and in mouse serum, as well as cystathionine β-synthase expression in the neurons and the mouse striatum, while also improving oxidative imbalance and mitochondrial dysfunction in PC12 cells and the mouse striatum. These beneficial effects correlated with upregulation of nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2 expression. Finally, treatment with the nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2inhibitor ML385 reversed the beneficial impact of exogenous hydrogen sulfide on quinolinic acid-induced oxidative stress. Taken together, our findings show that hydrogen sulfide reduces oxidative stress in Huntington's disease by activating nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2,suggesting that hydrogen sulfide is a novel neuroprotective drug candidate for treating patients with Huntington's disease.

Objective:To evaluate the protective effects of gentiopicroside(GPS)against reactive oxygen species(ROS)-induced NOD-like receptor family,pyrin domain containing 3(NLRP3)inflammasome activation in endothelial cells,aiming to reduce ***:Eight-week-old male ApoE-deficient mice were randomly divided into 2 groups(n=10 per group):the vehicle group and the GPS treatment *** groups were fed a high-fat diet for 16 ***(40 mg/kg per day)was administered by oral gavage to the GPS group,while the vehicle group received an equivalent volume of the vehicle *** the end of the treatment,blood and aortic tissues were collected for assessments of atherosclerosis,lipid profiles,oxidative stress,and molecular expressions related to NLRP3 inflammasome activation,ROS production,and ***,in vitro experiments on human aortic endothelial cells treated with oxidized low-density lipoprotein(ox-LDL)were conducted to evaluate the effects of GPS on NLRP3 inflammasome activation,pyroptosis,apoptosis,and ROS production,specifically examining the role of the sirtuin 1(SIRT1)/nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2(Nrf2)***1 and Nrf2 inhibitors were used to confirm the pathway's ***:GPS treatment significantly reduced atherosclerotic lesions in the en face aorta(Plike protein containing a CARD,cleaved-caspase-1,and cleavedgasdermin D expressions(all P<0.01).GPS also decreased ROS production,apoptosis,and pyroptosis,with the beneficial effects being significantly reversed by SIRT1 or Nrf2 ***:GPS exe
