AIM:To document the prognosis of laser treatment in patients with exudative age-related macular degeneration(AMD).· METHODs:Efficacy of the intervention was evaluated using a before-after method.· REsULTs:A total of 392 eyes of 341 patients with exudative AMD were examined.77.6% had choroideal neovascularisation(CNV).Before the use of indocyanine green(ICG) angiography,occult CNV was detected in only 1.8% of the eyes,but after the use of ICG angiography,this increased to 19.5%(Ps which were followed up,visual acuity had remained stable in 68.2% of the *** was a statistically significant relationship between localisation of lesion and visual acuity changes on pre-and post-laser treatment(Pso there was a statistically significant relationship between localisation of lesion and recurrence(Ps less in subfoveal lesions than that in juxtafoveal and extrafoveal lesions.· CONCLUsION:ICG angiography is highly important in the treatment of occult CNV.

Background: Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), associated with a slow and progressive loss of kidney function over a period of several years, is an important clinical disaster with an increasing rate of morbidity and mortality especially in the least developed countries. Many hematological parameters are thought to alter dramatically during the course of the disease. These include white blood cells, red blood cells, and platelets. Methods: We tried, retrospectively, to evaluate the peripheral blood hematological alterations in a group of patients undergoing hemodialysis in an eastern sudan dialysis center to add local medical information. Results: Anemia (Low hemoglobin and hematocrit) was detected in 94% of the patients’ group. Mean Erythrocyte count (3.32vs.4.76 (×109/L)), Hemoglobin concentration (9.4vs.13 (g/dl)), Hematocrit (28.7vs.38.7 (L/L)) and platelet count (296 vs. 238 (×109/L)) were significantly lower in the patients’ group than in the control group (P-values Conclusion: Five out of eight studied parameters (Red cell count, hemoglobin, hematocrit, mean cell hemoglobin concentration, and platelets count) have shown a significant alteration in CKD patients. As the complete blood count (CBC) test is the most utilized test in clinical laboratory practice, these alterations may be considered as early indicators for CKD. Furthermore, all patients with CKD must be routinely checked for these alterations.

目的:探讨渗出性年龄相关性黄斑变性( AMD) 患者激光治疗的预后。方法:前后比较,以评价治疗的有效性。结果:共纳入341 例392 眼渗出性 AMD 病例,其中77.6%伴有脉络膜新生血管( CNV) 。未使用吲哚氰绿( ICG) 血管造影时,仅在 1. 8% 患眼发现隐匿性 CNV; 而使用 ICG血管造影后,该比例提高到 19. 5% ( P < 0. 001) 。激光治疗后,共 349 眼进入随访,其中 68. 2% 视力保持稳定。经统计学检验,病变部位与治疗前后视力改变相关( P <0. 001) ,也与病变复发相关( P < 0. 05) 。在黄斑中心凹区病变的复发率小于旁中心凹或中心凹外病变。结论:ICG 血管造影对研究隐匿性 CNV 治疗效果相当重要。

Introduction: Neonatal mortality remains a major public health concern. According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), the number of newborns dying each year has fallen from 5 million in 1990 to 2.4 million in 2019. The aim of our study was to describe the main morbid conditions and their lethality in newborns admitted to the paediatric ward of the CsREF in Commune V. Methodology: We conducted a 12-month prospective descriptive and analytical study from August 2020 to July 2021. Results: During the 12 months of the study, out of 2654 neonates admitted to hospital, 216 met our inclusion criteria, i.e. 8%. Newborns admitted in the first few hours of life represented 99.54% of cases. Full-term newborns accounted for 65.74% of the total. Forty-eight percent of newborns had hypothermia on admission. The most common diagnosis was asphyxia in 55.56% of cases, followed by neonatal infection in 27.78% and prematurity in 10.65%. Death was recorded in 22.2% of cases. Asphyxia was the main cause of neonatal death, followed by prematurity in our context. Conclusion: Improving the prognosis of newborn babies will require a thorough understanding of neonatal pathologies and the implementation of a pre- and perinatal prevention policy.

The purpose of this study was to increase light olefins yield and selectivity in catalytic cracking of propane. Pretreatment of ZsM-5 zeolite was performed during calcination. First, lanthanum was loaded on the catalyst by wet impregnation method and then the effect of parameters, such as temperature（400–800 oC）, time（120–480 min） and type of stream, on La-ZsM-5 zeolite was examined during calcination using central composite design（CCD） method. Based on the proposed models, the optimized condition for maximizing selectivity of light olefins for air stream was 680 oC and 310 min and for the nitrogen stream was 735 oC and 173 min that under these conditions, selectivity amount increased 24% for nitrogen stream and 19% for air stream as compared with H-ZsM-5 catalyst. The synthesized catalysts were characterized by X-ray diffraction（XRD） and temperature-programmed desorption（TPD） techniques. According to the results of NH3-TPD, as the temperature increased, the number of strong acid sites（specially Bronsted acid sites） reduced and resulted in increased production of light olefins as well as catalyst stability. Accordingly, stability of the samples calcined with nitrogen stream was higher than the samples calcined with the air stream.

This study used 2D seismic profiles to investigate the Cenozoic evolution of faults in the Huizhou sub-basin. It aims to define the basin structure style through describing the geometric fea- tures of the faults and quantitatively analyzing their activities. The results indicate that the boundary faults in the Huizhou sub-basin display en echelon arrangement in plan view, which indicates that, it was caused by a kind of oblique extension. Calculating the fault slips shows long-term activities of faults occurred in the basin, and some boundary faults kept active after 5.5 Ma. The evolution history of the fault system is reconstructed. Initially, during the Eocene-Early Oligocene, mainly NNE-NE and NW trending faults and NE striking grabens and half-grabens formed in the basin and a series of faults system controlled the deposition. During the Late Oligocene--Early Miocene, the structural ac- tivities were relatively weak, the fault activity and the fault growth rate decreased sharply. Finally, in the late stage from Late Miocene to the present, the structure movement was re-activated, and some faults were also reactivated. Our study will help better understand the structural features and evolu- tion of the petroleum-bearing basins in the northern margin of the south China sea.
