Food waste is a growin. global con.ern. Data on.the factors an. magn.tude are largely global estimates, thus local studies aid in.providin. in.ormation.on.the impacts of food waste. Three importan. agro-climatic zon.s in.British Columbia an. n.n. common.crops, both an.ual an. peren.ial, were selected to evaluate the en.iron.en.al an. n.trition.l implication. of local food waste. Usin. Can.dian.estimates of total food waste, the con.tituen. water, caloric con.en., protein. vitamin.C, phosphorus an. potassium wasted by each crop were estimated. Region.lly, the total production.an. losses were the highest in.the Lower Fraser Valley which had high production.of potatoes an. blueberries, followed by the Okan.gan. with grapes an. apples, an. Van.ouver Islan., with potatoes. Virtual water was estimated by the BC Agriculture Water Calculator an. used to assess the soil an. climatic factors impactin. the local water deman.. Although soil texture seemed to in.luen.e water deman., the agro-climatic zon. was the main.factor con.rollin. the water deman. an. the correspon.in. amoun. of water wasted. Dry agro-climatic zon.s had an.ual virtual water up to two times higher for the same crop an. soil texture. Lower water deman. crops, fin.r soils an. more efficien. irrigation.systems were more con.ruen. with water stress scen.rios. Total losses for each region.were based on.con.ervative estimates an. would have supplied the caloric en.rgy an. protein.for over 40,000 adults, an. vitamin.C for over 300,000 adults for on. year. Addition.lly, the total n. P an. K wasted accoun.ed for up to 32, 2 an. 13 kg/ha respectively for common.fertilizers used in.British Columbia. This study con.irmed the sign.fican.e of food waste impacts on.local water deman., human.n.trition.an. soil man.gemen. based on.region.l data for represen.ative crops.

In.roduction. Elderly patien.s with mild traumatic brain.in.ury (mTBI) are frequen.ly admitted to an.in.en.ive care un.t (ICU), which is poten.ially both harmful an. un.ecessary. It is n.t kn.wn.which patien.s may be safely observed in.a n.n.ICU settin., poten.ially improvin. ICU utilization. The purpose of this study was to iden.ify factors that predict which geriatric patien.s with traumatic brain.in.ury may be admitted to a level of care other than.the ICU. Methods: Adults ≥65+ years admitted with positive radiologic study demon.tratin. isolated mTBI (defin.d as Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) 13 - 15) that was in.tially man.ged n.n.peratively between.Jan.ary 2011-December 2016 were iden.ified. Primary outcomes evaluated in.luded over triage an. Glasgow Outcome Scale (GOS). Results: 207 were iden.ified. Most patien.s presen.ed with GCS 15 (77.8%) an. were admitted to ICU (85.5%). 27% (n.= 55) met overtriage criteria. The most common.TBI was subdural hemorrhage (SDH) (48.8%) followed by subarachn.id hemorrhage (SAH) (22.2%). Hemorrhage progression.developed in.8.7% of subjects, but there was n. differen.e across TBI type. 21.7% of patien.s developed a ≥2 poin. decrease in.GCS durin. their hospital stay. Upon.discharge, 89.9% had a GOS ≥ 4 - 5. Presen.e/type of a sin.le in.racran.al hemorrhage (ICH) was n.t sign.fican.ly associated with outcome, but presen.e of bilateral or multiple lesion. was sign.fican.ly associated with poor outcome (p = 0.04). Con.lusion.: Overtriage of patien.s to an.ICU is costly, resource in.en.ive, an. avoidable. Here, we suggest a con.ervative framework to assist the determin.tion.of which patien.s can.be safely observed in.n.n.ICU settin.. Future studies should determin. if this framework is gen.ralizable to the en.ire geriatric population.who presen. with mTBI.

In.this paper, we design.con.en.us algorithms for multiple un.an.ed aerial vehicles （UAV）. We main.y focus on.the con.rol design.in.the face of measuremen. n.ise an. propose a position.con.en.us con.roller based on.the slidin. mode con.rol by usin. the distributed UAV in.ormation. Within.the framework of Lyapun.v theory, it is shown.that all sign.ls in.the closed-loop multi- UAV systems are stabilized by the proposed algorithm, while con.en.us errors are un.formly ultimately boun.ed. Moreover, for each local UAV, we propose a mechan.sm to defin. the trustworthin.ss, based on.which the edge weights are tun.d to elimin.te n.gative in.luen.e from stubborn.agen.s or agen.s exposed to extremely n.isy measuremen.. Fin.lly, we develop software for a n.n. UAV platform, based on.which we implemen. our algorithms to address measuremen. n.ises in.UAV flight tests. Usin. a retrospective evaluation.of feed effi- cien.y, this study in.estigated the effects of physiological age on.residual feed in.ake (RFI) in.growin. heifers. Data were collected durin. 1973 an. 1974 at the McGregor location.of the Texas Agricultural Experimen. Station. Heifers (n.= 77) were obtain.d from a large crossbreed- in. program utilizin. a five-breed diallel matin. scheme usin. An.us, Brahman. Hereford, Hol- stein.an. Jersey breeds. At approximately 6 mon.hs of age, pre-pubertal heifers were in.i- vidually pen.ed an. received ad libitum access to a balan.ed diet. In.ividual feed in.ake an. body weight data were collected at 28-day in. tervals for 84 days prior to puberty an. for 90 days after puberty. The diet was chan.ed at puberty to provide a lower en.rgy den.ity. Con. siderin. all females as cohorts, RFI was calcu- lated for each heifer for each period usin. separate models for the pre- an. post-pubertal periods. A moderate, positive Pearson.correla- tion.(r = 0.48;P n.pre- an. post-pubertal RFI. Furthermore, heifer RFI ran. was compared between.the pre- an. post-pubertal periods usin. Spearman.ran. or- der correlation.an. a similar correlation.(r = 0.46;P n.d durin. the pre-pubertal period may on.y be a moderate predictor of post-pubertal RFI. As a result, physiological age should be con.idered when.evaluatin. cattle for feed efficien.y usin. RFI.

Trimethylamin. oxide （Me3n.） has been.used as an.activation.reagen. to oxidize several carbon.l ligan.s coordin.ted in.the activated clusters an. to get a series of activated OS-66 raft-like clusters [OS-66（CO）21-x（MeCn.x] （n.= 1--5） an. correspon.in. substituted clusters [OS-66（CO）21-x（P（OMe）3）x] （n.1--5）. The structures of these OS-66 raft-like clusters have been.characterized by the in.rared spectra （IR）, n.clear magn.tic reson.n.e spectra （n.R） an. mass spectra （MS）, an. the characters of the raft-like plan.r structure an. reactivity above have also been.discussed in.this paper.
